Lesson 4: "Do Black People Blush?" Bringing brown complexions to life

Inspired by this ask

So, do Black people blush?

We are human beans 🤣! Blood rushes through our veins! This isn't just a nonblack misconception either; I know plenty of Black people who think we don't blush. Stop saying that shit. It's not true! If you thought this at any point, I'm glad you learned, TAKE THIS L IN SILENCE! I am sparing you the indignity of saying this out loud, ever! 🙏🏾

Jokes aside, the actual issue usually lies with the depiction or description. Depending on our skin tone, most of us aren’t going to turn ‘bright pink’ with a blush (if you write that in your y/n or roleplaying fics, that’s an easy way to negate a good amount of your potential Black audience). Think of a cherry coke- how you still see the tint of red in it, but it’s still brown? Like that.

One way to dodge this in writing is to say “flushed”, or “ears/cheeks became hot”. This is describing the physical action of blushing, without having to describe the color of someone’s face. If you’re really nervous about not writing us correctly via blushing… there you go!

Colorism

Okay. So this is something I’ll likely do its own lesson on, because there’s no way I could encapsulate it into one little blurb and I’m not going to try! After asking the internet an admittedly confusing question 😅, one thing I was able to reaffirm is that people have different opinions on what ‘dark’/’darker’ skin tones mean. People recognize that different cultural upbringings and contexts will change what that means! And that’s good- that an important part of the larger conversation!

However, I want everyone to understand that you don’t have to be Black to be dark/’darker’ skinned- you can be Black and very pale! We discussed that in the last lesson! There’s no ‘singular point of brown-ness’ that designates a Black person as ‘Black’- there’s an entire sociological conversation behind that!

My point is, this isn’t a ‘oh Black people OVERALL aren’t depicted blushing properly’- because there are ‘lighter’ skinned Black people that wouldn’t suffer as much from this particular issue.

Blushes and Undertones

Three Links for Tips on Medium to Deep Skintones

Different complexions are going to require different colors, there's not a 'one fits all' option. However! What we want to do for deeper brown complexions is to focus on BOLDER, not lighter! Putting light pink or a white person’s ‘nude’ on our skin will often make us look ashy and undercolored. And we don’t like looking ashy.

"It looks like they're ashy!"

What do we mean when we say this about a piece? Well, worse case scenario, it looks like this:

This was NOT one of KD’s better days, and he was thoroughly mocked for this. He got more than enough money for lotion! Anyway, when we say that your art looks ‘ashy’, it means that it feels like the skin of your Black character is gray, or dead. Like a corpse. We don’t look like that unless things are dire.

In fan and professional art, you can sometimes find people user a grey undertone for deeper shades of brown on Black people: NO! We are NOT grey! We are not pitch! Many skin shades of brown can be found based in the oranges and the reds. Based on lighting and depth of complexion, you might even have to go into the blues and purple to capture the brown you’re seeking.

I’m begging us to stop desaturating the browns we use. We can see the difference. It’s usually one of those ‘White Man Painted Brown’ techniques I discussed before; an attempt to ‘make a character Black’ without really committing to it because the brown skin tone ‘doesn’t look good’ to the artist. Brown is beautiful! Commit to brown! Commit to the full design!

Put in the work to create the brown you need!

While this is a traditional art piece (follow Ellie Mandy Art, a Black creator), I want you to notice how she incorporated many colors to create the deep brown for her piece.

She used black, yes, but it was nowhere near the base color. She incorporated blues and reds and other browns to capture that depth. It wasn’t ‘toss in a bunch of black or grey to get the brown darker’. (SKIP TO THE END TO SEE HOW GOOD THIS PIECE IS, BTW. I felt like I was in the presence of a master watching her do this, fr. We gotta pay artists more.)

I want to use this model as an example to show that while we might get very dark, we're still not 'pitch black'. You can see the flat of the black of their clothes versus their deep complexion. They're not the same!

Even if your character's complexion is very deep brown into black, you still need to incorporate ‘life’ into them (if that makes sense). And you know what? Even if you want to describe your characters as having ‘black’ skin, that’s fine, but there are still other ways to do it- obsidian, the night sky, velvet. Find a way to romanticize our skin (there’s an entire conversation about how ‘black’ is used in a negative connotation in language and storytelling, and we’re ALSO going to have that conversation later!)

A Real Simple Way (i.e. how I do it)

I tried, but I cannot find my skin tones palette link anymore. I’m sorry! But, it’s been essential to my character design. If you don’t ever buy anything else, I would HIGHLY suggest investing in a skin tones palette for your art program.

Everyone say hello to Philia, my OC! I’m used to drawing her, so I’m going to use her as an example. Now remember, I am still an amateur! But this is how I do it!

Admittedly, I do the one on the left when I'm feeling lazy, but more often I'll take the time to do the one on the right. Now here’s the thing- I’m not actually blending the red into the brown. This is on a whole different layer. What I’m actually doing is adding to and fading the color until it’s at a color that I feel is natural. There's definitely an easier, smarter way to do this, but that’s what I like to do- I like to see the stages slowly until I’m comfortable.

You have to mess around and practice; see what looks good and what doesn't. Go into the reds, the oranges, the pinks and observe how it looks- I may go through multiple before I settle on one. It’s really just a matter of getting used to drawing Black skin tones and how they look in different lighting. This one's not perfect for sure.

Here are some really good posts and Youtube videos on how both to paint skin, and to add blush tones. And remember, as per my usual, the best way to learn how the draw and paint Black people is to follow and learn from Black artists! Another good idea might be looking into Black makeup and Black SFX makeup artists. As people that work with skin on a regular basis, they would be a good place to study what colors can and should be used on different skin colors as a whole.

[PJSK OC Unit Introduction #01] Pain Killer

THE GIRLS!! ARE HERE!! YAY!! please be nicey to them...

more information about them under the cut!

(note: when it comes to their designs, their names are written in "first name, last name" order, but in their profiles their names are written in "last name, first name" order. also, about everyone's covers, at this point i feel like pjsk has so many covers, i can type literally any vocaloid song title and i will be able to find a pjsk cover of it, so if i say that a unit could cover a song that already has a canon cover, simply nod and agree with me 👍 also also, even if someone has "vocalist" as their position, obviously others sing too. also also ALSO, this takes place in the original timeline and not the brand new world one.)

(warnings for descriptions of physical and mental health problems, mentions of death, self-harm, toxic relationships and suicide, also this unit overall has a hospital/medical theme, so if you're not comfortable with that. yeah)

SEKAI Info.

Unit name: Pain Killer (i thought this would be a fun name for a unit with a medical theme! and it also has a deeper meaning, like, all of these girls' lives are painful in their own ways and they're tired of dealing with it, so they're going to KILL IT. but it also can be interpreted as them trying to get rid of this pain not in the most healthy way and getting addicted to it..)

Members (names are written in the "first name, last name" order): Yuuki Satou, Sae Chou, Kanami Nagai, Inori Watabe

Virtual singers (i've said this before, i'll be going with different vocaloids, but i'll still keep at least one "standard" virtual singer in every unit): Hatsune Miku, Oliver, Flower, Kaito, Utatane Piko, Mayu

Virtual singers' roles:

This SEKAI's Miku is a nurse and she seems to be very kind, thoughtful and soft-spoken. She cares a lot about the patients and the unit members and tries her best to give them good advice. It still feels like she's hiding something though.. When it comes to her design, her pigtails are more wavy and the tips of her hair are soft pink. She has two-colored eyes as well and they are both pink and teal.

Oliver is one of the patients. He's a very shy and kind-hearted boy who cares about the unit members and other patients' health and needs more than his own. Maybe it's because he enjoys the attention he gets as a patient with the most severe condition a little too much? His design is overall pretty similar to his original one minus the outfit and he wears a hospital gown similar to the ones Pain Killer members wear.

Flower is one of the patients as well. She clearly hates being here and she wishes she could just heal from all her pain already. Despite her cold and intimidating personality, she seems to be getting along with Oliver. Her design is very similar to her V4 standard one, she wears a hospital gown and there are some bandaids on her body and she has an eyepatch as well.

Kaito is the doctor that takes care of everyone and checks up on them. He seems to be very similar to WxS!Kaito as he gives off this older brother/father figure vibe, but he can be strict when needed, for example, when the unit members are refusing to take a break and rest. His design isn't that different from the original one minus the outfit, but he also wears glasses and has a hair gradient that goes from a darker shade of blue to the lighter one. If you remove his glasses, you can see that he actually has dark circles under his eyes.

Utatane Piko is an android who helps with detecting the patients and the unit members' health issues. He looks a lot like a human and you can notice the robot-like elements of his design only if you look closer. He seems to be only doing his job at first and not really having any feelings about it, but he actually takes it very seriously and gets attached to everyone in the process.

Mayu is a nurse as well, just like Miku, and she seems to be very overprotective when it comes to the patients. She always feels like they're still too sick and she doesn't trust them when they say that they're feeling better. It's possible for her to start feeling this way about the unit members too. Outside of that, she's a very cheerful and talkative person who is definitely the most extroverted one out of all Hospital SEKAI's virtual singers.

SEKAI name: Hospital SEKAI

SEKAI description: This SEKAI is able to change its appearance based on the unit members' physical and mental health state. When at least one of them is suffering, the SEKAI will look like some kind of abandoned hospital that you would see in a horror game and if all members are doing okay, the hospital will look completely fine. The patients (Oliver and Flower)' physical and mental state is also directly connected to certain members. Of course, they can't actually die, but they can still feel pain.

Character description: Yuuki is a rather shy and clumsy girl who finds it hard to socialize and make friends, but there's just something about her that makes people like her anyway. Because someone who was very important to her passed away recently due to illness, she became even more quiet and started to think about isolating herself from others, but after meeting a new student who seems to be having health problems as well, Yuuki changed her mind and decided to become friends with her, hoping that she can make her life better and at least a bit easier. Yuuki overall seems to have some kind of savior complex and she's obsessed with helping others and it's hard to say if she does so because she's genuinely that kind or because she wants those people to feel like they owe her.. or because her self-esteem is so low that she needs at least some kind of "proof" that she's still needed and she still can be useful.

Trivia:

She doesn't like red apples because she thinks they aren't as "juicy" as green ones.

Even though she's a huge scaredy cat, she's not afraid of needles at all and actually seems to have some kind of weird fascination with them.

Her favorite animals are dogs, especially big ones.

She's a bit jealous of Ichika and Saki's relationship and wishes to have something similar.

Interestingly, she actually doesn't remember that "important person" that well and she can't even remember if it was a family member, a friend or a significant other. It's possible that her memories related to that person became blurry because of trauma. She doubts that it was a family member though since she's sure her family would've told her about it and she would've noticed something different about their behavior.

Her hair is dyed and her natural hair color is lavender. She dyed it shortly after that "important person"'s death and she thinks it's possible that these two colors were that person's favorite.

Her personality is the reason why she's wearing an outfit more similar to doctor's rather than a hospital gown when performing in the Hospital SEKAI. She sees herself as a doctor and not a patient unlike the other members.

Chou Sae.

Name: Chou Sae (姚咲) (her last name means "beautiful, good-looking" and her first name means "blossom, flourish")

Age: 17 years old

Unit: Pain Killer

Position: Keyboardist

Gender: Female (She/her)

Birthday: January 16th (Capricorn)

Height: 172 cm

Family: Father, mother

School: Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy (2-A)

Character description: Sae is a new student and obviously it's hard for her to get used to her new school and her new classmates. She is a quiet person who often scares people away because of how blunt she is and because of her refusing to sugarcoat things, but she is actually just very.. tired. She can't find energy for socializing, so she often ends up saying something completely different from what she wanted to say. It may seem like she treats Yuuki just as coldly as she treats everyone else, but she actually appreciates her company and even finds her cute in some way. She also.. really likes the attention she gets from her.

Trivia:

Sae and Yuuki are classmates.

Sae shares a lot of similarities with Saki, such as being "the new student who couldn't attend school for some time because of illness", having a lot of yellows and oranges in their designs, being keyboardists of their respective units and their names starting with the same two letters. Their personalities are very different though.

When Sae mentioned that she doesn't like hamburgers, Inori stared at her and after a minute of silence asked "What do you have against America?"

Sae has to use a cane because she recently got a knee surgery. It may sound like something that isn't that serious, but Sae actually had to go through quite a lot of surgeries in her life which definitely had a negative impact on her mental health.

Inori decorated her cane to make her feel better. Sae is grateful to her for that.

She particularly enjoys body horror and psychological horror.

Interestingly, she doesn't just see herself as a patient in Hospital SEKAI, she sees herself as a zombie. Meaning that she sees herself as someone who's already dead or she thinks that with all the surgeries she's had, it would probably be better for her to die.

She's the only unit member who Inori couldn't come up with a nickname for, simply because she thought Sae's name is too short.

Nagai Kanami.

Name: Nagai Kanami (永居叶望) (her last name means "eternity, permanence" and "to stay, to be present" and her first name means "fulfill, satisfy" and "hope, wish, desire")

Age: 18 years old

Unit: Pain Killer

Position: Bassist

Gender: Female (She/her)

Birthday: April 23rd (Taurus)

Height: 173 cm

Family: Father, mother, little brother (15 years old), little sister (10 years old)

She seems to have really bad health anxiety because of that, so you can often see her wearing a mask, gloves or simply using hand sanitizer every few seconds. Some people actually think that Kanami is faking her illness to skip classes, but most people believe that Kanami is the most responsible person you'll ever meet. Except.. those people who think she's faking are right.

Trivia:

Her hair is just like that. It's not a weird haircut, her hair really is just like that. Inori said it looks like wet paper. Kanami was not amused.

Speaking of paper, she actually has an extreme fear of papercuts, so she tries to avoid it.. which is hard to do at school.

Her favorite tea is matcha.

She's the only third year in Pain Killer, so she's often forced to do "adult stuff" such as promoting their group, posting their music, etc. She's not happy about it.

The reason why she's faking her health problems is because she's tired of the pressure she receives from her family and the lack of attention due to her being the oldest child. She knows it's not the smartest decision, but she can't come up with anything else.

She sees herself as a patient in the Hospital SEKAI because she wishes to be one so that she could stop feeling bad about faking her illness. She actually wants to be in pain.

Watabe Inori.

Name: Watabe Inori (渡邉以愛) (her last name means "to cross, to pass over" and her first name means "by means of, because of" and "love, affection")

Age: 17 years old

Unit: Pain Killer

Position: Drummer

Gender: Female (Any pronouns)

Birthday: June 2nd (Gemini)

Character description: Inori never knows when to stop. She laughs too much. Cries too much. Loves too much. So obviously he's not a type of person to take a breakup well. Especially a breakup with a guy who enjoyed seeing her in pain. She still hopes he will come back one day, so for now, she will continue to do horrible things to herself to make him pay attentiom to her. They don't even go to the same school, but it's okay, he can just pay him a visit later. Hanging out with Pain Killer members is fun though.. Maybe even more fun than whatever Inori and that guy had.

Trivia:

Most people refer to Inori by she/her pronouns, but Sae also uses they/them pronouns and Kanami uses he/him pronouns for them.

Inori and that guy were childhood friends and dated for three years.

Yuuki often takes care of Inori's scars and wounds. Inori wasn't happy about it at first since she does so to make their ex-boyfriend come back, but later, he actually started to like the attention they get from Yuuki.

Inori often jokes about looking a lot like Miku (the "classic" one and not their SEKAI one).

She's in the same class as Mafuyu.

Inori finds swimming relaxing.

Unit description: I imagine them being somewhat of a mix of L/N and N25, they're posting their music online and they don't really perform irl and Yuuki created the unit, hoping that they can help people "heal" from their pain with their music.

Original songs info: They mostly play rock (a particularly sad kind) with some elements of electronic music.

Vocaloid covers: I imagine them covering songs like Accomplice by Misumi, Sayoko by Mikito-P, Crier by Scop and Apocalypse Now by Pinocchio-P.

(Bonus) Milgram cover: Even though Throw Down and Triage seem like the obvious choice, I think Weakness would fit their style and their characters much better.

I totally understand your point and where those asks are coming from about the things you can't stand in fics, but there's a difference between hating a certain expression like "she released a breath she didn't know she had been holding" and being triggered over things like y/n being described as small, having long hair and stuff. The writers are most likely writing from their own characteristics (or if not, things that they'd like to have)

That's personal preference and if you'd like to see something specific represented, why don't you write it yourself? (And I absolutely don't mean this in a condescending way, I'm genuinely saying you should try writing it yourself, why not?)

hi anon! i'm going to assume you're new here since it'll explain that last part since i occasionally do write fics with chubby readers or fem readers that are tagged as such since i like seeing myself represented <3 i always tag them as being a chubby reader so that people who don't want to read that kind of thing can avoid it since it's not applicable to everyone and some people just aren't interested in reading it

also, before i really go into it... i'd very much appreciate it if you didn't throw around the word 'triggered' in such a manner. we're having a discussion on my blog. if i've gotten a little too heated, then that's my bad, but this is nothing like being triggered by something (trust me, being sent into a breakdown over an actual trigger is not fun and a thousand times more stressful/upsetting than getting a little heated during a discussion).

i think the thing is... my anons have all been pretty nice about the things they're talking about? i genuinely brought up the point of writing pet peeves in terms of phrases or things that people see in writing since i like creating a safe place to talk about things. i'm very much a white woman though, so i try not to comment too much on things like my first anon brought up of writers talking about reader visibly blushing aside from the fact that i try to avoid physical descriptors like that due to it alienating darker skinned readers. it's usually because of these comments (so far not aimed at me, but general grievances with reading fics) that i try to avoid any physical descriptions in my fics--reader doesn't turn red or blush in a visual sense, but their face will get warm or they'll get flustered by a statement. it's a more universal feeling that people can agree to rather than worrying about the color their face is, plus it's more inclusive of people who don't visibly blush.

my other anon said that they feel self conscious so it bothers them when writers specifically talk about showing off curves (which not every person has, by the way--i've known people who are rectangular in body shape and lack any curves, doesn't make them any more or less a person deserving of respect). this is easily something a writer could warn for, too. describing reader as petite or dainty or tiny is also something that alienates the readers and rarely gets a warning for.

if i may be so bold, i don't think you fully understand my point and my anons points. reader fanfics are meant to be an inclusive medium because you're intentionally writing a more blank slate than you would an original character. it's one thing to write something like a personality or giving your reader likes/dislikes and writing reader as someone petite. i... simply can't ever be petite (i can lose weight, yes, but i won't ever be tiny and petite because my body simply isn't like that). dark skinned readers can't just become lighter.

it's okay to write a reader from your own characteristics. it's okay to romanticize your skin tone or your body. it's not okay to not warn people about it when they don't fit that mold. if you're going to exclude readers, then the nice thing to do is warn them before they start reading your fics. i warn people when i write chubby reader fics, i've seen poc writers warn when they're writing a poc reader... why can't people with long hair or smaller body types do the same? why would people viewed as deviations from that mold be the only people who have to warn people? i'm not saying you can't write a reader who's petite, i'm saying you should tell your audience when you do. it helps readers find material that fits them better rather than walk into a fic and be taken out of it because reader's described with things like "your slim body" or noted to be blushing red.

and as i've said, i've written a lot of fics. some of them feature a chubby reader because i do like to write my own representation sometimes. most of the time, i leave those details out because i don't see a point in them. i write for myself sometimes, but i also like writing for other people and giving them a place where they can feel safe in romantic fics where they're loved no matter who they are or what they look like. sometimes i start ideas with a chubby reader that i later cut out because their body type didn't actually matter to the story i'm telling (even though i could have just kept reader chubby--why alienate people when it isn't relevant to the plot?). i've had ideas start out neutral that changed because i wanted to tell a story a specific way.

personal preference isn't an excuse to not tell your readers what you're writing. i'm willing to bet every single anon i've had so far wouldn't have these complaints if they were given a proper warning before they read the fic (because then they likely wouldn't have engaged with something they can't relate to unless they were just down to read the writing and not imagine themselves as the reader).

Bruh, my younger sister literally just thought race is just skin color, (she also thought there were only two races) like no?? it's not????

I don't know who else needs to hear this, I sincerely hope most people know this already, but race ISN'T JUST SKIN COLOR It's multiple features that their ancestors have evolved to adapt and live in their environment.

Before I talk about this, keep in mind two things.

1.) please refrain from any racist or bigoted comments, this is about evolutionary traits, not your bigotry, if you cannot restrain yourself enough to be being a civilized person, then ignore this post and go touch some grass.

2.) I'll admit I did oversimplify things in this post to keep things easy to understand (there is more to this, if you are interested in a more indepth version, the internet has a lot of information for you to read and maybe watch if there are any videos about it, which there probably is.)

Now let's begin.

Sure, having different skin pigmentation levels is a trait that different races evolved to have. For example, white people's ancestors evolved to have lighter skin to asorb more vitamin D because colder areas tend to get less sunlight, while black people have darker skin because it protected them from ultraviolet radiation coming from the sun, since their ancestors lived in areas with more exposure to sunlight.

To put it simply, this is why people with darker skin are at risk for vitamin D deficiencies when they live in areas with limited amounts of sunlight, and fair skinned people get redder than a tomato when they stay in the sun for too long.

But, it's not the only trait, things like facial features are also a part of this, for example, not only can you figure out someone's age range from a human skull (this is by teeth examination btw), you can usually figure out their race from other structural features. (If you want to learn more about this, research forensic science. I could go into it myself but I am trying to keep this simple and not derail the post)

Though certain facial characteristics do not always have a clear reason for, like how it's unknown exactly why Asians' ancestors evolved to have a distinctive eye shape.

All in all, You can be black and be albino, thus having low skin pigmentation, but still it doesn't make you white,

Plus having dark skin doesn't automatically make you black anyway. For example people who are Hispanic/Latine, South-East Asian, Polynesian or Native American ect. usually have darker skin tones (though not always) but they are not black,

Same goes for having a light skin tone doesn't make you white, like light skinned Asian people aren't white, they're, well... Asian.

Skin pigmentation alone does not equal race, Race just tends to play a factor with skin pigmentation.

So, I feel like since my art is already inconsistent, the way i draw and type about my headcannons is madddd confusing. Like, I know I don't draw ANY of them correctly. Or draw good in general lmao. But I just wanna share some of my headcannons or whatever idk I can't draw I'm on a road trip this is as good of a post you're gonna get.

So the Makaras, they're tall. Like okay I think all of the fuscias are tall as shit. I mean look at mommy- I mean Condescension, she's tall as FUCK. So I think that's just a grand blood thing. Like grandhighblood. He's obviously fucking HUGE. Tall, buff, all that horrifying shit that can murdle someone EASILY. So I mean, Kurloz imo is tall and lanky. But obviously we all see wtf he becomes so I mean, yeah. But gamzee, tall and scrawny as shit. He's got mental issues man, he probably forgets to eat for days on end. Dude eats slime for breakfast lunch and dinner, that ain't gonna do much. But yeah all the makaras and fuscias are tall as shit imo.

Colors. The whole nails and eyes being some derivative of yellow seems weird to me. Like I know they're aliens and shit but it just seems out of place. I think they all have tint of their blood color for their skin. Their nails are like either lighter or darker version of their blood color too, and their eyes are tinted the same way because ours do the same thing. I'm thinking about logical anatomy here you guys. And also the base of their horns, I put their blood color caus it's legit coming outta their head. THEY CAN FEEL THEIR HORNS THERE'S BLOOD IN THERE RIGHT? OR SOMETHING? IDK. But also, for those thinking "Karkat wouldn't survive if his skin was tinted" I don't understand that first part, but since his color is so close to rush bloods, one glance and you can't tell the difference. I headcannons it as Slsome trolls are darker shades, some lighter, some less tinted some more. That's why gamzees so dark compared to like, idk sollux. Lighter colors darker colors, y'all get it.

Also I'm gonna use this post to say, I don't portray the characters very well, and I'm sorry about that. I have specific and strong headcannons, and I don't know them all very well. I don't know how everyone sees and accepts people's versions of each character. I read this shit once. I'm going to read homestuck again (duh) but this is all off of information from one read. I also have ADHD I did NOT pay attention. Apologies for that, thanks for understanding.

Okay next one, I draw all of them veryyyy differently than the original. Like, I draw equius older than the original. Actually that's everybody. Nobody is 13 when i draw them unless it's specific. Take like, my sketches of Aradia and Sollux. They're look an assignment older because they are. So like with equius, i draw him with long hair, a lot taller, buffer, and overall change the personality if he got more comfortable with th people around him and how the world changes. That's why he talks so slack usually. I like to think he grows from his whole hemospectrum "I gotta live up to this" shit and learns to just live. Oh also I chang th outfits because I like to add more personality. The originals don't have much detail and it's fun to add them. Like nepetas outfit, crop tops an sweatpants cause that kitty be WORKIN. But yeah none of my interpretations of them are good nor correct. It's just how I see them, sorry if ya don't like em.

I forget the horns 99% of the time. I have no excuse I genuinely have no object permanence. I forget gloves, horns, nails, teeth, colors, clothing LITERALLY EVERYTHING. I'M JUST STUPID OKAY I FORGET A LOTTA SHIT. I usually run all my shit by my friend first before posting because I keep forgetting shit. It's a genuine problem. Hopefully it'll be fixed after drawing all of them for a while but, I just don't know.

(Before this paragraph, when I say "kin" I mean like I relate to and feel a lot alike a character. Okay kool)

The funniest thing is, I kin dave more than I do equius, but I drew him ONCE and never posted it. I was reading as dave the entire few weeks of the first read and I was like "damn these cats are kookin that's literally me I'm fucking dave." and like, love him, simp for him, he's fucking amazing. But I just find it so funny that I only post troll shit and never any human shit. I love Janey and Dave and John and shit but I never say anything about them lmao. I mean my blog name is CorvineArcher. Color of crows (Dave) Archer, we already know XD.

Hehe it was fun doing research for these uwu. Since it's gonna be long, I'm putting it under the cut lol

💐 [BOUQUET] If you could send your OC a bouquet, what flowers would make it up and what is the overall message?

Ok so it took me some time to look up a bunch of flower meanings so I can mix and match them lol. I'm not that good with flowers so idk if all of these meanings will work. I also accidentally turned it into more of a "what bouquet represents them" as opposed to "what do I wanna tell them personally" 😭. Ig it's just time to be mean to some of my ocs lol. But this is what I got

Dan is getting a boquet of peonies and white roses. These represent his want to start over with new beginnings while trying to hide his shame by being optimistic and compassionate. He feels like he could do better with himself so he's embarrassed to admit why he wants to change so much 😔

Randy gets a nice one lol. His is filled with orange roses and heliconias to show his immense passion for the things that he likes (human flesh). He's a very happy guy. He's filled with a lot of energy and desire to eat.

Davis is just getting a bunch of snapdragons because he's an asshole pejjfkksv. I also couldn't find any other flowers that fit him 😭. It represents his strength and underlying deception. If I did wanna send him a message, maybe I could add some black roses to it to be like "you're an asshole and you're gonna die because of it 😤" lejgklakv

Ronny's bouquet is filled with red roses, anemones, and proteas. Yes I am bullying him pejguisov.He longs for a change and to transform himself into the best version of himself that will make himself happy, even if it comes with the cost of scaring everyone else away. The anemones also represent his clashing thoughts, losing hope in humanity while at the same time anticipating that maybe someone will prove him wrong.

Cyrus is getting a single daffodil. I am bullying him too lpsofiks. This is supposed to represent the tragedy of his life by isolating himself from the rest of the world in attempt to protect others as an act of chivalry. But also he doesn't realize that he's only hurting his mental health by doing so 😭

Elowyn gets a nice bouquet lol. She doesn't deserve it but laosjclsivks. She gets orchids and purple irises. These show off everything that she stands for and strives to be. She wants to represent the body of femininity, elegance, etc, all while imparting her wisdom and findings to the rest of the world.

Dan would like daffodils. They're bright and look like they got little trumpets at the end of them. He likes the shapes they make lol. His favorite color is blue, leaning on the lighter or tealer side uwu

Randy likes larkspur flowers because he thinks they look funny lol. Why they have little bulb heads? It looks like they got little teeth and have a tongue sticking out. Why they look like that? His favorite color would be neon purple, or honestly neon anything. Just something loud and out there lol

Davis would probably like delphiniums. He likes the clusters they make and would honestly love to put some up around his house. He also likes the color green and prefers darker greens

Ronny would love black roses because he'd think they're cool as fuck lol. Their aesthetic is so sick. Other than that, his favorite color is purple uwu

Cyrus loves sunflowers. There's something about them, maybe it's because they're always associated with happy emotions, but he thinks they're cute. His favorite color would be a very pale light blue

Elowyn thinks gladiolus flowers look very pretty. They look very soft and she wants to put one behind her ear. She also loves the color pink 💖

THANK YOU because, ok, there are multiple reasons I'm kind of overly pissed lol. For one, personal opinions aside, it's like critiquing the main core of the idea? It's like, idk, going to a Glass Animals concert and saying "it would have been better without the stoner music" like girl thats the point? Am i phrasing this correctly 🤦‍♀️ its like someone asking how you like their job grooming a dog and you say "oh it would just be better if it wasnt a dog" and adding nothing else

Second, like, this is my first attempt doing a full look all on my own so im already nervous but also all the time and effort? I'm talking cleanser, toner, primer, eyeshadow primer, tinted moisturizer (found one that has like natural medium coverage in my exact shade and I feel like it might be good for my skin vs a foundation? Also just general testing what works for my oily skin), eyeshadow, mascara, a little eyebrow pencil wing for flavor lol, tried and failed at some contour and will have to try that again lol, and the main piece for me at least, the dark lipstick which is transfer proof by the way!! Which is a big win for me because lip products that come off your lips when you do anything are so temporary and just feel, weird? I had to scrub with micelluar water to get this off! (I think it's called Maybelline super stay matte ink lipstick. You have to wait for it to dry but goddamn I literally drank water and hit a bong after putting it on and it stayed soooo well, virtually nothing came off)

But yeah! It's. I think I've mentioned it before but a big part of this is like, I feel like I'm actually legitimately going through a combination quarter life crisis but also a maybe more positive significant shift in how I live my life idk? For the longest time i felt too ugly and heavy and gross and just subhuman to wear makeup and now that I've gotten older and more I guess life experienced and have lost weight I've started getting into it and it's been fun! It's like art you know, and it can be entertaining to find a makeup artists or influencer you like (I like Robert Walsh and his brother James, they're twins, a pro MUA and a dermatologist respectively). They also go from funny to educational so it's just idk, fun to scroll through the sheer mass of content. Also it's kind of just like art and painting when you think about it!

And like I did talk to her and she said I kind of misinterpreted what she said but it's still like, girl, please just lie and say it looks good next time. Like she thought I looked really good but she kept saying "the lipstick is just darker than I was expecting", which, yeah I could have gone more dark red, but I kinda just wanted to try something really dark but not black? I like the look and, ha, my male friend who's approval I've been a little gaga for said it looked good too so ❤️

I hope to make more looks in the future because it was fun, collect all sorts of nice pictures of different colors and styles. This whole deal today that I even put makeup on for was literally just to run errands, like get food and go to a smoke shop, because I don't get out much, but that's also part of the journey is that I hope to get out more and do more activities and wearing makeup during so will be a fun social thing you know? I'm being kind of wordy but you probably get it.

Also! I was inspired by like, this sort of color theory aesthetic video/clip I was seeing where they were showing "dark femininity vs light femininity" so it's like, pronounced brows, sharp/bold/dakr lipstick, bronzer contour, dark or smoky eyes, versus pink blush, lighter colors, glitters and shimmers, highlighted cheeks, you know? So my mom was kind of expecting light femininity when I was doing dark femininity. So her "main complaint" is actually for a look I want to do next 😅 but hey thanks for the support, this is actually so like, fascinating but complicated and nervewracking and also so much is subjective and I'm so unused to seeing myself like this that even though, realistically I looked good, I felt like a painted clown and like, a poser? A loser, idk. But the journey continues on :)

Name: Jarah Drsydell and Jasmine Drysdell (to the extent that Rude doesn't want to associate his name officially, of course - otherwise, they would also have his surname! The names are either associated to flowers or honey in a tribute to Melissa/Lilian and the HBI). Gender: A couple of twins (Jarah being male and Jasmine being female). General appearance: Despite the mixed genes, Rude's appear to be more dominant - both kids have darker skin than their mother and closer to their father, raven-black hair and also grow taller than Melissa (although Jasmine wins by a narrow margin whereas the boys make her look tiny in comparison). Jasmine's eyes, however, are very unique and lighter than her brother's, perhaps one of the cases where Melissa's heritage came through more evidently. They both can gain muscle and weight easily and have larger bone structure than an average Midgarian, but only Jarah seems to be interested in a fitness routine to benefit from their genetics. Personality: A good example of cloning themselves - Jarah is quiet, very observant, will only speak when he feels he has something to add and 95% of it is very insightful, would change his path to avoid stepping on a flower; Jasmine abhors silence, makes friends as easily as she gets in trouble, universally considered the life of any party and cannot stay silent in the face of injustice of any kind (to the point of sometimes endangering herself and requiring saving from her father/brother/kind bystander). No one has any trouble believing Rude and Melissa to be their parents, really. Special talents: A bit on the unexpected side since these are not the things people would immediately guess about either of the twins - but Jarah is really good with drawing, illustrations and arts in general (almost as if he translates everything he sees on paper so others can see it as well); Jasmine has a knack for massages - just like Melissa, she has a similar need for physical connection and that developed into working out tension off the bodies of the people she's close to (and she's good enough to make tough people cry when she gets the right spot). Who they like better: Curiously enough, they're both sufficiently well-mannered to never outright admit they have a favorite, but Jarah feels more comfortable with his mother and Jasmine with her father. Perhaps because of the 'mini-clone' aspect, they do find themselves at ease with the parent that has the opposing personality traits (maybe because this made that relevant progenitor easier to manipulate, haha). Who they take after more: Jarah is mini-Rude, Jasmine is mini-Melissa, it's really that bad. The only thing that may potentially throw someone off (in Melissa's case) is because of the skin color - she's much paler than her daughter, but their mannerisms and approaches are so similar that usually any doubts about a familial connection will disappear the moment they part their lips to speak. Personal Headcanon: Jarah has the right build and discipline to be a professional coliseum fighter or wrestler, but he doesn't enjoy violence in that way; despite being scouted by agents before and offered opportunities to be a professional, Jarah turned them all down and he just really likes being fit for his own personal (health) purposes - he speaks of joining the WRO one day and helping with rebuilding efforts and going where he is most needed. Jasmine, on the other hand, has her focus set on the stage - she would love to have a career in something artistic for the masses (like television, cinema or theater), all endeavors that Melissa very much supports and would have loved to do it herself if she had been given the chance (although she never pressured Jasmine into this - the girl just has a similar need for attention). Faceclaim: Regé-Jean Page (Jarah) and Logan Browning (Jasmine).

hehehehehehe wende (any pronouns) time!!! to give a bit of context i'll do a, b and c first and then i'll get into answering further questions abt her (:

A) Why are you excited about this character?

Wende is fucking wild. Combined with the system and the relationship map we've created, there's so much angst, drama, and chaos to uncover that I'm just itching to get in there. Monday shall be the day. The day where we discover how bad Wende's drug use actually is, why the guy she assassinated is back (he's an android but she doesn't know that), and maybe even what is in their future with their changeling partner... Also they're named after a performer I really like and I think that's neat uwu

B) What inspired you to create them?

He kind of just kind of... spawned? I joined some friends for a season of Hillfolk Dramasystem and I rolled the last slot on deciding what my character would be, and thus got to be the first person to connect to all other characters. And when the player who went in front of me decided his character would be a politician, the concept of 'guess Wende is just going to be a refugee on the run for having tried to murder the politician-guy'. And it all went downhill from there. It's hilarious.

C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

Not really, to be honest. The point of the Hillfolk system is to create conflicts and relationships between characters and that is the core of the system. Wende's story is bound to change drastically (their drug addiction came from another player's reason why her character couldn't fulfill Wende's want). Her story isn't mine, it's everyone's, as his purpose is to be a vehicle, which is a refreshing take between all the chaos in my brain regarding Vampire :3

So now that that is out of the way: here's questions abt Wende and their answers!! :D

3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

Due to their position on the space ship they're on being... not intended... per se... Wende's night routine is pretty simple. Get into bed, try to move as little as possible, and wait for the sweet sweet darkness to take her for a couple of hours. That final step is harder than one might expect, because their brain is always on some other type of shit and stopping the endless onslaught of thoughts for long enough to actually fall asleep is not something they're specifically good at.

13. What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?

They prefer darker colours because of his profession, but they shine in lighter colours. There's no way Wende is admitting to this, and she'll probably only wear lighter shades when prompted by their partner.

23. How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)?

Wende is an "I take what I deserve"-type. Did they successfully fail at assassinating their current partner's fwb? Yes. The answer is yes. But hey, a doctor isn't supplying him with the narcotics they need, and that's going to be an absolute issue in the future. She has a gun, after all. And she's not afraid to use it.

33. Could they be considered lazy?

Absolutely not. They hate hate hate sitting around and will get incredibly antsy and uncomfortable when not doing anything. This doesn't mean she'll do the things she has to do, he'll push off their chores like the best of them, but they're never not doing anything.

43. If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?

Very simple. Raised eyebrow, vague hand motion, and maybe then a shrug before trying to fade into the darkness. What's a sexuality and how do you describe it when you're an enigma and your partner is even more of an enigma than you are, y'know?

I feel like that's true!

I know some people argue that "But Miruko is Japanese, she's can't be POC" or something else along those lines.

A couple of things!

Asian people are POC! Just because they're pale/light skinned doesn't mean they're not POC!

Dark/tanned skinned Japanese and other Asian people exist! You can have lighter skinned parents and come out a little tanner than them. There's also multiracial people who happen to be of the darker tone and still be of Asian descendant.

We know Miruko is Japanese by her name and we can also say she could be multiracial. To those who are unaware, one of her moves uses the word 'tijeras'. This is Spanish for 'pair of scissors'. With this we can say Miruko is of Spanish and Japanese descent.

However, we can also say she happens to appreciate the culture and language and uses Spanish for her moves.

Either way, Miruko is still a person of color!

Everyone in this anime is POC because they're in JAPAN. I recently seen a tweet saying Hawks is white.

Um... you ignorant fool! Just because Hawks is a little on the light side doesn't mean he isn't someone of color!

There is no excuse for her to be that light in the anime when Horikoshi colors her three... four times darker! There's also no excuse why people like to think just because a character happens to be pale skinned they aren't POC.

For those who like to say "this character is white" even though they live in Japan, have a Japanese name, speak Japanese, etc when it comes to this anime (and others), you're not funny. You're erasing a culture and whitewashing these characters. It's disrespectful. It's not a joke, it's not funny. It's bad enough some of you f*tishize Asians as well as other POC because you think it's as "cool" as wearing a fur coat. You know what the P stands for in POC? PERSON/PEOPLE! Meaning actual human beings with fucking feelings.

Bones and some of ya'll in the BNHA fandom, do fucking better.

I honestly feel like they thought it was good enough for us darker/brown skinned people that Rock Lock existed. "Oh, they only need one brown skinned hero, that's enough."

(I actually like Rock Lock. He is a cool ass dude!)

Sorry for the rant, I just got in my feelings. I was remembering some things like someone calling Miruko a 'chocolate bunny' and the context did NOT sit right with me and among other things.

this will be a bit long i'll try not to spoil too much

i went and rewatched it and have warmed up to it somewhat.. i think it was mainly my fault for going into it expecting utena 2 when really its best approached as like a love letter to the fans/recap/rearrangement of the original show. basically like 90% of the time you're watching it you're constantly going to be thinking 'oh i recognize this line/story beat/relationship dynamic etc etc' but all of those elements will be in very different contexts, some of which can feel a bit..jarring or even unearned (?). like for example anthy starts calling utena 'utena' (without the -sama) on only their second meeting and the way it happens almost makes it feel like a throwaway line, whereas in the original show it was like. you know the literal final line that sticks with you forever kinda thing. i think it's fine if you're able to just interpret these moments as simple fanservice/ references to the show and nothing more, but if you're trying to seriously analyze them they might not necessarily hold up as well because you're constantly pitting them against the original which had a lot more runtime to flesh out everything around those moments properly if that makes sense. i think it could be interesting to hear from someone who watched the movie but not the show and see what conclusions/analyses they're able to come up with it but. that's another story. there are 2 things that definitely still bugged me even after rewatching though, the first being that anthy/akio have...significantly lighter skin tones compared to the show. i know some people argue that the whole movie's color palette is brighter in general but i dont really buy it lol. for their skin to be that much lighter utena should have like mikage level hair to match but she doesn't. it's just normal utena pink. all the other duelists more or less have their original hair colors as well and if anything their redesigned clothes are darker compared to the show. anyway it's just another reason why i don't really recommend analyzing the movie too deeply because if you read the whitewashing as deliberate on ikuhara/Be-Papas' part it can have...icky implications with the changes made to anthy/akio's personalities. the 2nd thing might honestly be more of a nitpick than anything but i can't help but feel like there were certain scenes in the movie that were like. at least a little..gratuitous in their execution ? utena's "gender reveal" during the saionji duel was...a bit weird. the camera angles in the pool scene were...somewhat questionable. miki and kozue bathing together...happened. anthy drawing naked utena with utena panting in a clearly sexual manner was... a choice. the final car scene... i was actually ok with because it's all so very over-the-top and kinda silly that it loops back into being heartwarming but maybe that's just me lol. i have heard that the original show did face a lot of like broadcast censorship issues so i guess the movie could kinda be a way to go all out in response or something? idk it's all certainly more explicit than the show for better or worse. at the very least i think it wouldn't hurt to watch the movie for yourself and come to your own conclusions about it. it's definitely very well made, the music is as good as ever, etc etc

@gleerp, you do realize that Mercedes being a big girl is a huge part of her character, right? It’s not only a big part of her biography and why she’s in the Glee club aka a glee loser, but her experiences as a plus sized black woman have shaped her personality as well.

I know people are more than just their body type or size, but the writers for Glee really leaned in hard on her weight for this character. And that’s okay!! It’s okay to have a plus size character that has story arcs about her being plus size. Anyone that has ever been plus size will tell you that it is vitally important to who they are as a person because of the way it changes their life experiences. Mercedes was the big girl that nobody took seriously because she was big. That was her whole season one arc. So what on earth?????????? Honestly, I consider this fatphobic. You’re really that afraid to have a fat person on your dash??????????? That you decide to make the only plus sized main character smaller than even the skinny canon girls? I would also like to mention that there is colorism involved here too. Amber Riley and Mercedes Jones are very dark skinned, beautiful black women. So why is your accepted fc choice so light skinned? You’re probably white and unaware, but even within the POC community, colorism is incredibly hurtful. A current example is one BTS member saying that another BTS member looks like the N word when he gets a tan. The preference has always been for lighter skin, whether you’re POC or white. Skin bleaching kits exist to tell us that we need to be as light as possible. There are derogatory terms for darker skin colors. Let dark skinned characters stay dark skinned to maintain the representation. Let plus sized characters remain plus sized to maintain the representation.

THIS IS NOT MERCECEDES JONES. What you were looking for was a fat, black- reread that FAT BLACK celebrity with a darker skin tone.

(Kat Blaque is my fave face for her, just in case you were wondering) This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in at least ten years. Admins allow bullshit like this and then wonder why nobody wants to deal with the grpc and the whole Glee cast and all Glee characters are on almost every single ban list for rps outside of our community. Just a quick look at their acceptances and their masterlist and I am finding characters that are the wrong ethnicity! How fun! So we’re whitewashing at gleerp too. It’s really beginning to look like 2006 again as far as brain cells devoted to respecting other people and social decorum are concerned. A note to the admins, all Asians aren’t the same and/or interchangeable. Korean is not the same as Vietnamese is not the same as Japanese is not the same as Chinese. In addition, Mexican is not the same as Pilipino which is not the same as Puerto Rican which is not the same as Spanish and also not the same as Guatemalan. You can’t just interchange and swap out POC ethnicities or put POC of different ethnicities into bio families together for fun and say it’s okay because they’re still POC, that’s not how we work. Just a hot tip.

SET ME FREE is the debut mini album of Korean soloist LISBETH, the album has two title tracks, being those NO LIMITS and HURT. The album was released both digitally and physically on July 11, 2018. Lisbeth described the lyrical theme of this album as being about "a growing dependence over something or someone".

TRACKLIST.

1. No Limits [Insp. Tove Lo's Cool girl].

Lyrics: Lisbeth.

Production: Park Jinjoo.

The first title track kickstarts Lisbeth's story as she allows to introduce herself both to the listener and to what would turn out as the obsession described in the next songs. No Limits is a catchy electropop song that talks about nothing but Lisbeth's own personality before everything starts to fall down as the story goes.

2. Hurt [insp. Tove Lo's True disaster].

Lyrics: Lisbeth, Park Jinjoo.

Production: Park Jinjoo.

While No Limits introduces Lisbeth, Hurt introduces what fans started to call the Obsession, as of Lisbeth's point of view. The lyrics talk about willing to do anything to know more about what the Obsession shows, knowing that they're going to get hurt in the end. Sometimes, it can be confused as a love song, as it seems like Lisbeth is talking to a person. Hurt is a song that mixes synthpop and electropop, keeping a slightly slower pace compared to No Limits, but still as upbeat as the other.

3. Loveless City [insp. Tove Lo's This time around].

Lyrics: Lisbeth, Park Jinjoo.

Production: Park Jinjoo.

The fans reached to an agreement that this song describes a dialogue between Lisbeth and the mysterious man seen in the Hurt music video. Lisbeth asks: what am i doing in this loveless city? As her dependence grows and she starts to think nothing else matters besides the thing she wants the most.

4. getoutofmyhead [insp. Charlotte Lawrence's Why do you love me].

Lyrics: Lisbeth.

Production: Park Jinjoo.

In this song, Lisbeth has a minute of realization and tries to fight the Obsession before it's too late, having a lot of contradicting lines to support this point. The song grows darker and, even, slightly creepier until it reaches the end, suggesting that she couldn't run away from her own wishes and that her obsession finally won her, even if they meant her downfall.

5. plz answer me [insp. Dean's Bonnie & Clyde].

Lyrics: Lisbeth.

Production: Park Jinjoo.

The song starts with the sound of an unanswered phone call. The story progresses and, whatever is the so called Obsession, it seems like it's getting away from Lisbeth, but, since she's already in such a heavy stage, she's not happy with it and wants it back, the lyrics describe these feelings using methaphors with missing calls.

6. Better without u [insp. Suzy's Les Préférences].

Lyrics: Lisbeth.

Production: Park Jinjoo.

Better without u is a slower, softer songs that talks about Lisbeth's questionings as she gets more and more aware of her current situation, asking herself if it's really worth it to keep going and that maybe she's better off without concentrating with that. Is the song that concludes the theme Lisbeth wanted to talk about in this album.

7. Hopes and dreams [insp. Lorde's Homemade Dynamite].

Lyrics: Lisbeth.

Production: Park Jinjoo.

A song that doesn't apply to the storyline described in the album, Hopes and Dreams has a self explanatory title and is, overall, a lighter song, describing Lisbeth's dreams and goals as of becoming an idol. The album, in general, even if it has a way deeper meaning, can be applied to a lot of trainees' feelings about their dream and the hardships and confusion they experience in their journey, Lisbeth wants to bring a message to multiple people and permit that they interpret her lyrics to their own situation, making it the most relatable as possible.

ERA HIGHLIGHTS.

Babygirl finally debuted, yay!

She was so happy with her debut, really. In her first stage with Hurt, she had to concentrate a lot because she wanted to smile, that contributed to her gaining a fame of duality between her fans as they thought about how could she be such a sweetheart and write those type of lyrics and perform the way she does.

No first win this time, sadly, but she gained a spot on the heart of a lot of people around their 16-24, if it had to create average, as her songs fitted the sound and lyrics a lot of younger people in South Korea like to listen, specially k-hiphop/rnb fans, as it got close to the sound they like.

Her personal youtube channel Days with Liz opened, and she got to contact a lot with fans through that and vlives.

When talking about achievements, she was average and had a solid debut, peaking at #8 in the Gaon Album Chart and she had more than 10.000 physical copies sold.

Let's not even talk about her first fansite, FleurDeLiz, that person is truly privileged and the love of her life, Lisbeth gives a lot of attention and poses a lot for them in events as they were her first, but tries to treat them all equally.

Fans also became curious about the model in Hurt's Music Video, he got known as 'the boy with a pretty smile' since his face never fully showed up, not even in the behind the scenes video where he and Lisbeth are seen playing around in the recording, because his face was blurred there. Fans started speculating that maybe he's a trainee for an upcoming debut.

ERA STYLING.

Lisbeth had light purple hair for the entire promotions of the album.

The styling for both songs was pretty casual, actually, but the concept itself didn't fit outfits with a lot of details and patterns.

No Limits' styling was fresh and free, she wore a lot jeans and skirts. There was also a performance where she whore the sleeveless jumpsuit and sports top outfit she wore in the MV, which had mixed opinions of netizens as some thought of it as too revealing, but she remained unbothered.

What is this miracle? Female idols stylists being smart and giving outfits they can actually move in? Yes.

Since Hurt's choreography was more complex and needed more movement, the styling was restricted to pants and shorts, no dresses or skirts where worn.

The color palette was different compared to No Limits' styling, as the latter focused on lighter colors, Hurt went for a theme that reminded night.

Finally got the girlies done! :D!! Click for better quality!

This is Karite Shinsoroki, Hinagiku Bakugo-Midoriya, and Tami Togata!

I definetly did not do Tami's adorable ass outfit justice here-

There's a lot of things wrong with the outfits, but I couldn't really change;

Karite usually has a greenish color sweater she wears around her elbows, but that's very hard to draw and I didn't know how to layer the hair and everything, and not hide her!

Hinagiku should be wearing All Might merch.

Tami almost always is wearing the same cape that Tamaki wears. It just goes down to her knees, so I obviously didn't draw it since I want you to see her.

Quirks:

Karite ~ Loan

Whenever she brainwashes someone, either her ice or her fire gets transfered to them. She can't use the person's original quirk, she has to give one of her's up.

She can't choose whether she gives them ice or fire, it's a 50/50 chance, and so she usually won't make plans that aren't flexible in that aspect.

She can't use whichever quirk she gives up.

She activates the brainwashing the same way Shinso does.

Hinagiku ~ Explosion

Her sweat, tears, and pretty much everything else is the same nitroglycerin like substance as her father.

Smells even more like caramel than he does.

Tami ~ Permiation/Manifest

Nothing special; just both her dad's quirks. She has a lot more trouble using both at the same time, however, and she much prefers Permiation.

Appearances

Karite:

She has tanned skin, blue/purple and grey/purple eyes, and dark purple hair with red and white at the tips on the left and right sides respectively.

She really likes high waisted shorts with tank tops, and those are usually in greyscale, with a poofy greenish jacket to add some color.

Rocks those moccasins.

Hinagiku:

She has green eyes, pale skin, and green hair at the top with pristine blond further down, worn in two ponytails that she drapes over her shoulders.

Almost always seen in All Might merch. She's still holding onto him after over a decade.

When she's not, she doesn't have the best fashion sense and will throw a shirt under one of the many cute suspender-skirts she has.

Of course, you can't forget her bright red shoes that go with nothing she wears, but refuses to change!

Tami

Tami is a mini Tamaki — dark indigo eyes, darker skin, and indigo hair that she wears like Mirio used to in high school.

She likes cute strapless dresses that go down to a bit above her knees, and will wear a lighter color long sleeve shirt over it. They usually have some other poofy transparent fabric over those sleeves, which she only wears cos she thinks it's adorable. And it is.

She's usually wearing sandals, and her usually color palette is warm colors with a bit of very whitish-greens as accents or backgrounds.

Fun facts! :D

- Tami's cape is made with the fibers of her hair, so it permeates with her just like Mirio's cosume does!

She's actually allowed to wear the cape + hood in school as long as it's not over her head, since it helps with her self-consciousness, most of her being covered up by it.

- Mirio finds it really funny that Tami's doing the same thing with her hair as he did. She used to wear it just like Tamaki does, and then she switched to a half ponytail, and she's gone back to the Tamaki look a few times.

- Tami is demisexual and currently questioning whether she likes Hinagiku back.

Despite her having.. Y'know... Two fathers, she's still nervous to come out and hasn't yet. It's alright, Tami, take your time.

- Since Tamaki is a name you could use for either gender, Mirio really wanted to name her Tamaki!

But Tamaki got nervous, and asked the what if's like 'what if we break up and you have to say my name?'

Other than that, though, it would be confusing.

So they took the first letter of each of their names and boom! たミ! Tami!

- She has an incredible amount of respect for both dads, and she designed her hero costume after both of them.

And her fighting style. She sinks into the ground, then seems to warp just like Mirio does. Go for the gut!

- She has the same anxiety as Tamaki, it's really bad. But she still tries to smile! She doesn't want people to worry about her, so she smiles!

It also helps her whenever she's heroing, by making her feel like she can get through anything, and making the people she's saving feel safer.

But of course, like everything, this has a downside.

She hates it whenever she can't force her smiles and will get overwhelmingly angry with herself if she can't find a reason to smile about a situation.

~ Hinagiku is actually kind of an asshole, she just doesn't realize she's being really mean sometimes.

It used to really hurt her, because she had trouble keeping friends, and she's very scared of loosing Tami now.

Though, she's getting better at pinpointing behavior, apologising, and keeping an eye out for it.

~ She's still questioning. When she got close to Tami, she realized that all her previous 'crushes' weren't crushes at all! She thought she was pansexual, but she's not sure now.

She doesn't know the term for only being attracted to one person. She doesn't find any other girls pretty in that way, or boys handsome in that way.

~ Isn't very good with her volume due to her quirk. Needs and has hearing aids. Blew her ears-

She can hear without them, but just barely, and she won't be able to decipher what you're saying. She does know you're talking, though.

~ for being Japanese, she's very touchy-feely!

She loves hugs and holding hands and never leaves Tami alone even when there in public.

However, she can recognize when Tami doesn't want her to, and will stop. She's very observant in this way.

~ She's a hero fanatic. She knows everything about them all, including their real names.

She's still in absolute awe of (who she seee as) her girlfriend being the daughter of the #1 hero couple!!

And of course she's in awe of hereself being the daughter of the #1 standalone hero.

~ Hina knows sign language! When she realized she was loosing her hearing, she quickly picked up some books and started learning for her life.

It's also to understand her best friend Ogoe-de, who developed a vocal condition called aphonia when they were around four. She has a lot of trouble understanding why he's so sad about that, but it's probably because of his quirk depending on hisbvoice and him being loud. Poor thing. I'll get to him when I drae the guys.

Them being her, Karite, and him. They've known each other for a while!

• Karite is like super smart.

She's got really good problem solving skills, planning ahead, and is just snarr in general.

Because of this high bar, anything even slightly below it leaves her on her knees.

Almost literally.

• She is bisexual with a preference toward men.

Loves Ogoe-de more than she loves herself-

She hasn't told her dads about her sexuality, but she's not hiding it at all. She doesn't see the need to make it a big deal, and do she doesn't. They've never properly had a talk about it and she doesn't feel they need to.

• She's very aloof and barely shows emotions. Just like her dads.

Only exception is around her friends, where she's surprisingly sassy.

• She keeps Hinagiku under control.

“Stop harrassing Tami”

“I'm loving her!!”

• She uses the same tricks that Shinso used when he was young.

“Dad can we get McDonald's”

• She doesn't use her power willy nilly, though.

• Whenever they train, Hinagiku is usually he one she brainwashes. Both because she's very agile and because... She's really damn easy to brainwash.

She does volenteer, though! Karite wouldn't do that to her if she didn't allow it.

Ogoe-de doesn't understand why she doesn't just use him, and she tells him it's because he doesn't need the help of her quirk to become a good hero.

He disagrees.

It's one of the only things they don't agree upon, but they're working on it.

The boys and villians are coming soon, as well as the girl's hero costumes!
