I'm fucking deceased about the Sun ending once more aösdfhfdkffjj... I still have my first playthrough's savegame to go back to now and then to hurt myself with the feels for fic writing purposes and öasjdffjffkd. I usually went with some of the more positive dialogue options in the convo with Kerry, which simultaneously always felt to me a bit like V is not telling the entire truth in favor of not worrying Kerry which is... absoltuely in character for Vince, on the one hand.
ON THE OTHER HAND THOUGH by the time of the Sun ending they've been together for a while already, had their ups and downs, probably tried and failed several attempts of saving V somehow... And I think at that point things don't look good and they both know it like... Vince wouldn't feel the need to hide he's not doing well (although I do love the "I have a black belt in cuddling" dialogue from Kerry so much but HHH).
But one dialogue option that alwasy scared me, that I could never bring myself to take so far was "We both know how this ends" when you're out on the balcony, talking about the future (because I REFUSE. You're not a psychic, Vince, you can't know how it ends). But now I dared to choose it and omg... it hurt just as bad as I'd expected but... Vince apologizing that he hadn't planned this to go this way, that he'd hoped Alt would actually save him and all would be good, probably feeling like he led Kerry on by promising a future together they might not have? And omg, Kerry then reminiscing about their convo at Dark Matter (and actually calling it a date and I'M DEAD because at that time Vince would've wondered exactly that "is this... a date? it feels like one, but is it??? or does he just want some time away from the medias?? but he says I'm sth special?????" *confused feels intensify*)... how the city wouldn't be the same for him anymore, without V, and IN RESPONSE to that V says "that's why I gotta do this job" (my thought process here: city not the same without you -> gotta do the job -> conclusion: city will not be without me, you won't lose me -> conclusion of conclusion: V is not going on a suicide run hoping to die, like it's interpreted sometimes, and Mr. B has the key to saving him somehow).
All that in combination with the "Says the one who isn't dying" dialogue (that also hurts SO BAD, cause V is so so sad and tired and exhausted ;A;) that I also never quite dared to choose, and Kerry being like "I'll always be there for you, no matter what, until the end" has me bawling about pixel men once again on this beautiful Friday afternoon.
Okay, brb crying some more, adjusting a couple dialogues in my post-canon fic now, but also feeling very vindicated in my headcanons and plans for that in general.

Oh yea OMORI! That game, it's not horror in the kind of surviving the monster way, it's more like about trauma (and friendship, forgiveness, and stuff too it's cool, I think that's one part it's compared to Undertale)
If you don't mind some mild spoiler it'll mainly be in a dream world, probably lucid dream having adventure (aka. escapism lol)
Jumpscare... there isn't that much actually? if you ignore that one part late game that is
...It's kinda long though, like, really long, the main story isn't that long mostly it's just the dream, but I guess that do count as main story to a degree too? well it's hard to describe, if you don't want to played it yourself you could find some playthrough that works too, so you don't have to grind that much since it is rpg, with level, actual level.
(Or if you just want to do the expression thing like anon said you could just google search it, it's not that spoilery, normally there's 5 main expression, Neutral, Happy, Sad, Angry, and Afraid, Happy, Sad, and Angry have 3 tiers (Ex. Miserable, Enraged, Manic), some character can't get some emotion though sometimes it's a plot sometimes it's a bossfight mechanic they treat emotion like pokemon treat type, but it's changable throughout battle so it's used as a kind of strategy)
...huh I never think I'd ever got to ramble about Omori to Undertale blog lol
((Yeah I kind of got the idea that its more of psychological horror than like, monster horror. Kind of like DDLC but not really, I guess!
I would be willing to play it cuz it sounds interesting! But, maybe I'll watch a play through first just to see how scary it is. I can usually handle some horror stuff, but jumpscares and stuff like that are a big no XD
I tried to google search the emotions thing actually, but I just wasn't sure which ones were accurate or not cause there were different versions. Thats why I thought it'd be easier for some one to send me a ref of it cuz I don't want to use the wrong one.
That emotions mechanic sounds cool though...maybe I really should look more into this game lol.

would you like an excuse to nitw post i for the life of me canNOT understand the PLOT OF THIS GAME
that's fair! nitw's core story is intentionally vague and non-direct so i don't blame people for not immediately getting it. i'll talk abt it as quickly as possible bc i just woke up lol
the 3 major themes of nitw i feel are dealing with mental illness as a young adult, existentialism, and how capitalism takes lives in different ways.
while mae's official diagnosis is never revealed, the way she describes her experience at college is easily identifiable if you've ever been through a long-term depressive episode in your adult years. the thing about depressive episodes and other forms of mental breakdowns is that they aren't always rational. in mae's case, while a lot of it seems to stem from peer pressure and rushing into something she wasn't prepared for, she's not really able to grasp what's wrong with her or why everything is going wrong until it's already too late. i always really liked the whole "shapes" allegory when she talks about dissociation; how the world just started blending together one day, from things that used to make sense and have a meaning and an identity attached to them, into random shapes and colors that didn't mean anything.
now, the existentialist and anti-capitalist elements in this game might be harder to see if you don't know youre looking for them, because this is where the whole supernatural/demonic cult thing comes in. it also doesn't help that nitw's full story can't be experienced in just 1 playthrough, since some of the context is locked behind events, hidden locations and specific dialogue choices. i'll try to summarize lt:
BASICALLY: in the game's lore, there's an all-powerful demonic being called "the black goat". it lives down at the far bottom of a hole in the ground, discovered by local miners many years before the game takes place. it's supposedly the cause of sinkholes, floods and other natural disasters around town, as well as the shitty state of the job market and people being forced to leave their homes. certain people (including mae) have "heard it singing" and have been inevitably gravitating towards it.
during an especially tough period for possum springs' working class, the town's old mining community formed a sort of cult around the black goat, after discovering that it LITERALLY feeds on human sacrifices. though the cult made it a rule to only sacrifice people who "wouldn't be missed" or "wouldn't contribute anything important to the town".
this is all a huge metaphor for late stage capitalism, as an endless cycling of people suffering and dying for the sake of maintaining "order" in society, and how you can't improve on these conditions without getting to and destroying the (literal, in the game's case) core of the problem. and that might be a task too big for any person.
near the end of the game, mae has this big monologue moment where she directly confronts the black goat, and in turn, confronts herself and her own issues. she basically goes "yeah, this whole situation sucks and maybe nothing we do will ever contribute to anything on the grand scheme. but that's why i need to hold onto even the smallest things that give my life meaning, even if they're sad, even if they hurt." it's one of my favorite scenes in the whole game, and really ties everything together in a neat little bow.
TLDR; at the end of everything, hold onto anything

This is about the Sims 4, at the bottom there's a question. You can skip down to the question if you don't care about backstory.
I have a "Chaos World" save that is probably the most fun, and the most invested I've been in a playthrough, and I've got a couple household's I've been playing, part the base game townies, part randomly generated Sims, and part custom/makeovered Sims. While I'm playing I'll slip into CAS and edit the Sims that come up, stuff like that. And sometimes I'll go into family trees and piece together a backstory and such.
I decided to create a matriarch household that's the "Main" family I play, and all the rest are side characters, but sometimes they'll have their own "episode" if you know what I mean.
The Matriarch is still rather young, and had two kids fresh out of highschool with her highschool sweetheart, Kiyoshi.
They were crazy about each other, and their kids, Peyton and Hayley. Kiyoshi and Jazmine (The Matriarch) worked their butts off to raise these toddlers, and parent them right. Kiyoshi worked his butt off and was finally able to move out of his parents house and buy some land for him and his little family.
He built a home and farm out in Henford-on-Bagley and they lived there for just a short while before Jazmine found out she was pregnant again with another little boy! Unexpected, but not unwelcome! They named him Reid, and it seemed almost as if their lives couldn't get any better. They even got a puppy and named Tiber to top it all off!
Seasons pass, days go by, Kiyoshi is doing really good in his career, as well as Jazmine. Soon, it's Reid's birthday from a toddler to a child! Jazmine plans the birthday party days in advance, everyone has the day off, and Jazmine invites the whole family. Kiyoshis mom, dad, sisters and brother (Megumi and Naoki are Kiyoshis parents, and they decided to have twins after Peyton was born). They all head to the restaurant Jazmine picks. Everyone is having a great time. Eating, drinking, making jokes, and everyone pretty much has a happy or playful moodlet. That is, until Kiyoshi laughs so hard that he has a heart attack and dies!
Now, in a different household, I have a villainous Valentine named Megan, out to break up all couples she comes across, wether that be her beguiling and seducing them into breaking up with their significant other, or her being mean and badmouthing their partner. She was really good at the art of seduction, and betrayal. Anyone she came across, she ruined their relationship. But even she couldn't get Kiyoshi to betray Jazmines trust, he refused to be flirty, or build up a romance bar with her. (Can't we all have a man as dedicated as Kiyoshi?)
Not long after Megumi had Lieyen and Kenji, Megumi met Megan, and fell under her spell very quickly, and divorced Naoki with a quickness. Once Megan's spell wore off, she realized her mistake and tried to repair things with her husband, but she had already done too much damage to their relationship (FULL red romance. Yikes.) What she didn't know when she was trying to fix things was that Naoki was ready to GTFO and start over. He took both Leiyen and Kenji, remarried, and moved in with his new wife, and had a baby with her almost immediately after.
Her oldest daughter, Nanami had moved out too, so, she was quite lonely in her big house. She tried to date again, but she never felt the deep love she had with Naoki. She didn't remarry. When she heard that Kiyoshi had passed away, it was the final straw.
I got a notification that her pet (That I had specifically placed in her household) had been adopted by another household and I was shocked! So I looked into the "Known people" and saw her little portrait was a ghost! I looked into the family tree, and the cause of death was "Fell from height". I was actually sad about it. I know it doesn't say she did it herself, but I didn't know your Sims *could* fall.
Rest in peace Kiyoshi and Megumi Ito. You will be dearly missed.
Survived by Peyton Ito, Hayley Ito, Reid Ito, Nanami Ito, Lieyen Ito, and Kenji Ito.
(PS Does anyone know how to find Megumis Urn?? I don't know where she died, and I went to her house and it wasn't there either. I'm keeping the family line tombstones, and would like to have it. TIA)
Thanks for reading!
