I would love to see more of badass reader x Spencer, but maybe reader gets hurt on a case (like a concussion or something) and only wants Spencer and we get to see more of reader’s soft spot for Spencer. Idk if that made sense or if that’s anything you’d be interested in writing. Love reading whatever you write!💕
thank you for your request and for reading babe!! —your singular soft spot for spencer rises to the surface when you get hurt in the field. fem!reader, 1.1k
Emily's foot tap tap taps hospital linoleum. The nurses are getting worried about you —your CAT scans are fine, but you're lethargic. Mildly concussed with moderate symptoms, you winced at the lights, told Emily to turn them off, and haven't said much since.
She frowns. It's not nice to see someone who's usually so closed-off openly pained. "You okay?" she asks.
"I wanna see Spence," you murmur.
Emily nods slowly. She's had this conversation with you already. You have a spot of amnesia, nothing to worry about, decidedly temporary.
"Why hasn't he come to see me?" you ask. Your voice trips and tumbles, your eyes glowing with a glassy sheen. "I thought he'd come to… make sure I was okay. But he doesn't want to see me."
"Spencer's on the way here. He was an hour away with Hotch, remember? They're on their way."
You twitch like a displeased cat under your sheets and turn away from her, sniffling weakly. Your shoulders heave with slow tears. Emily gets up to rub your back but thinks better of it when you stiffen. She doesn't understand how you function, doesn't know what it is about Spencer alone that you can be vulnerable with him and not the others, but she won't judge you for it. She just wishes there was more she could do.
It's an untold amount of time between your tears and Spencer's awaited arrival. You're worse than lethargic, depressed, hand lax behind your back and unresponsive to the sound of the door.
"She's asleep?" he mouths. His hair is limp either side of his face, flattened by anxious hands.
"Upset," she mouths back through a frown, drawing a tear down her cheek with her pinky finger.
He doesn't give Emily a second glance after that.
"Hey," he says softly, rounding your hospital bed, touching the tips of his fingers to your hip and drawing a gentle line up your side. His head dips down, bending at the waist to see you better in the dim lighting. "Hey, what's wrong?"
You make a small keening sound from the back of your throat. It's so cleaving that Emily wants to leave, so painful that she wants to stay. You're her friend too. Emily cares about you, even when it hurts to do so.
"I don't feel like me," you say.
Spencer doesn't shy away either. His expression is open, reassuring as he pops into a semi squat that can't be comfortable. His hand closes around your arm, thumb feeling the naked skin there sweetly. "It's normal to feel confused after a head injury. I promise it won't last."
"I don't feel well," you say, small, like a scared kid.
"I know."
You reach for him. Emily knows Derek would never believe it, your hands stretched out almost desperately, the pleading noise yanked from between teeth normally gritted. Spencer wraps long arms around you with the ease of someone who's done it before, maybe exactly like this.
"It's okay," he says. He's speaking with pep he doesn't feel. Emily can see he's stressed in the high pinch of his shoulders, but he's putting on a show for you. "You don't have to be scared. It's okay."
The perpetual line carved between Hotch's brows seems deeper as he enters the room. Neither of you look up, your back loosening under the lazy back and forth of Spencer's hand.
"Concerning, right?" Emily asks.
Hotch ignores her, but not for lack of agreement. "What do her observations say?"
"Mild to moderate head injury, post-concussion amnesia, fractured index and middle finger on her left hand."
"Where are her clothes?" he asks.
"They can't check her out until she gets her fingers cast and all she brought in her go bag was slacks."
"I'll get her some pyjamas," Hotch says.
Emily's not sure what's funnier, the idea of you in pyjamas, the image of Hotch choosing a pair, or the word pyjamas in his stoic murmur. He lingers to make sure you're okay, his eyes tracking the tremble of your arms as Spencer talks too low to hear in your ear, having sat down on the bed and curled himself around you protectively.
You moan something sad and Spencer laughs, your hospital gown crinkling as he massages the top of your shoulder. "Why would you say that?" he asks lightly. "You think you know better than me? Really?"
"Of course not," you say. If it were anyone else, you'd have knocked them off the bed already.
"I don't remember you having an eidetic memory," he furthers.
You actually manage to laugh for the first time since your initial injury. "I don't remember anything right now," you say.
Emily leans over to Hotch. "You know, when we first came in, I suggested to the nurse that she might have amnesia because she kept asking me where she was, and she looked me dead in the eye and said, well, good thing you're not a nurse."
Hotch scoffs a laugh. "It's a little surprising even now. Seeing them together, you'd never think it."
"Think what?" Emily asks, fond rather than judgemental. "That she's as emotional as a China teacup?"
"I'll remember for both of us," Spencer murmurs, stroking your face. "Okay? So calm down."
Derek once told you to calm down and felt the cold of your icy attitude for a ragged week. Spencer says it and you take a visible deep breath, your head laying back in your pillows, his hand quick to cup the side of your neck. "Okay," you say quietly.
"It's not just that," Hotch says, failing to explain further.
He doesn't have to. Emily knows what he means. You can be snippy, aloof, unfriendly. But it's not just your softening that's surprising, it's Spencer's growing confidence. The ease with which he handles you, hands unabashed in their comforting.
"Want me to find you something to wear?" Spencer asks.
"We got it," Hotch interrupts. "Take it easy, Y/N. Rest."
You nod obediently. He and Emily leave, hearing a last snippet of conversation as the heavy door closes behind them.
"You wanna sign my cast, when they do it?" you ask hopefully.
"Are you kidding? I'd love to. I've always wanted to sign someone's cast, and it's good for your morale."
"Will they be in a cast long, do you think?"
"They should be healed in about six to eight weeks, but you may not regain full strength for another two months afterward. There have actually been studies…"

There were a few parasocial relationship discussions in the past week on reddit and someone brought up Jungkook almost every time as someone who leans more into the parasocial relationship with his fans - or enables it, I'm not sure how to word it properly. And it made me a little confused because to me, it doesn't seem like he does it? Or maybe I'm not that delulu to think that what he's doing Is indeed parasocial sometimes, or I don't fully understand what counts as parasocial with an idol. So I wanted to ask: do you think that he's leaning a bit into it?
If I remember correctly they brought up him calling the fans as his girlfriend(s) - I honestly just took that as a joke but Idk? - and him folding his underwear on camera - again very confusing to me because why is that parasocial? - and him sleeping on camera - well okay I can see why This counts as parasocial, but the others?
Sure, compared to idols who only do the necessary fanservice and rarely interact with fans he really does a lot more, like he had a million lives this year alone and he shared his recipes with us and gifted songs and etc. but I still don't know. Is it really more parasocial than it should be and I'm just simply not noticing it? 😅
i think his dynamic with the fandom is appropriately parasocial enough without it becoming overly codependent even though some would probably argue that it might feel that way from time to time. he's expressed that the fandom can't be excluded from his life and i believe he really feels that way since ARMY have been a constant in his life for a decade from such a young age and that's a big factor into why it's so strongly important to him.
i think he leaned into it way more than ever this year on purpose because he knew there'd be a temporary pause eventually and he wanted to make the most of his spare time with us in a less stress-inducing way while being in full control of it. consider how rare that's been in his long career, everything from your fanmeets/concerts to your scheduled livestreams at the company building being orchestrated and planned out for you. him deciding to say "fuck it i wanna chat with fans whenever i feel like it" and kickstarting the habit of going live from home without telling anyone at work first and letting it become a regular thing was a conscious decision he likely put thought into after he got away with it the first couple times. i'm not implying he didn't have control of that before, but there was always an obvious protocol to follow for safety reasons, which is understandable, but he wanted to take the risk and so he did. other members would later follow that example too.
i think sometimes people misunderstood him or purposely misconstrued his words on those lives, especially his jokes or his way of expressing his thoughts/feelings to fit their own narrative or image of him. people want him to fit the mold they've created in their heads of him, so no matter how often he came live and was vulnerable and honest with us, people still looked for ways and reasons to dictate what he did, how he felt, how he meant something differently from what he said when he couldn't have been more clear, etc.
i can't make you see something differently from how you already do. i don't love the term "delulu" in this sort of context because like you said, a lot of the normal things he let us see on his lives were normal every-day chores and not everyone is going to consider it very parasocial to have seen it, but how often do you hear of idols letting their fans in that much? hardly ever. it was fun for both parties because it was unexpected and sometimes spontaneous (like sleeping/cooking/exercising) and he felt comfortable enough to do certain things with an audience. we're talking about someone who'd been mostly ghost online for like two years. someone who has a history of being very shy. it meant a lot to fans to see him come out of his shell and grow even more comfortable with us, even if it sometimes put him in some unsafe situations because unfortunately, there are some really scary people out there. idk where the parasocial quota is, so i can't say what it "should be" but i can tell you i've never seen any famous person engage with their fans in as pure of a way as he did this year.

This isnt a question, but I can see Harvey not being too fond of sofia at first. Reason behind this being he is worried he will scare her do to his face.
But my point is. I can see Harvey holding her finally or hell even giving her a gift for the first time. But he seems he worried and keeps the turned side of his face pointing away from her. Curiosity gets the best of her and she makes him look at her only to stare in awe of how handsome she thinks uncle Harvey and twoface are. Making them both swear to protect her at all cost.
So now both Harvey and twoface buy/steals her everything... Yet wont admit he loves the girl dearly.
I don't see Harvey as a kid person. Maybe he had a desire to start a family before his villain career, but even before he was always awkward around kids. Talking to them like little adults than actual kids. I don't see him as the type to shy away telling a kid how cruel the world can be or show how cruel it could be (his face).
With Sophie he may get annoyed simply for how intrusive she is in people's business and her naivety, but of course she can't help that with how young she is and to that Harvey actually enjoys educating her, especially about the law and it's system of course.
Harvey also can't help but feel pride when Crane came to him complaining because Sophie had developed a temporary habit of "passing Judgement" on the human subjects Crane picked off the streets for his fear experiments (they were mostly lesser criminals and told Sophie not to feel bad for them). Crane usually let's her sit in to observe and learn, but around this time he had to lock her.
Two-Face on the other had has no patience for kids. Often telling her to "scram!" and "beat it!". But the worst he can do is lock her in a closet because he's not stupid to make permanent enemies among the other rogues. Eventually tho he does "care" for her, ( more like he finds she can be useful), to a degree where he won't let her die if put in a dangerous situation.
I have scenarios where Two-Face would casually ask her if she wants to shoot a gun or let her flip his coin to decide whether to shoot a guy in the head or torso or tells her to take the wheel while he leans out the window to shoot cars. Why she is even there idk, but when Edward hears about it he gives Two-Face an ear full. Lol.

question anon back again :)
ah okay, understandable!! i don't know i feel strange asking but this idea has been in my head for weeks and you're the only person that would do it justice.
can you do keoghan's joker with a male reader? like theyre in their arkham cells nearby and get a little chatty. joker is obviously really flirty and the reader returns it, but don't make the reader... weak if that makes sense. a firm male reader? idk
"Something about your eyes, pretty boy, let's me know you'll be lots of fun." "That right?" like that type energy
thank you so much!!! again, drink water and have a great day :)
Just Jokes

Keoghan's Joker x Male Reader
Contains: lots of laughing and variants (obviously), discussions of violence, mental illness, tall reader, reader with a sense of humor, ACAB
Content Warnings: detailed violence, potentially disturbing descriptions of said crimes, i don't shy away from them being mentally ill
Summary: You're introduced to a new wing of Arkham and find that the man in the cell next to you will certainly keep things interesting, and can't help but put a smile on your face.
No usage of Y / N
Word count: 1470
Author's Response: Fuck yeah! This was so much fun to write, and so different than my usual asks that it was really refreshing! I normally read up on other people's fics before I do mine so I get a vibe going, but there aren't very many for him, and correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first K-Joker fic where there's a male reader! I went a little ham on the reader deserving his spot in the same wing as The Joker, so bro's a little bonkers. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this, I know I certainly did writing it. Thanks! Cheers!!!
asks will be closed at 12:00pm tonight, get em in while you can >:)
You shuffled down the concrete hallway of Arkham best you could with the ankle cuffs tight around your legs, thin gaze angled towards the floor. Sighing, you realized it didn't matter where you looked since every surface was the same damn color, the metal only adding to the coldness of the stone. The most annoying part was each time you had to lean to get through each door, whoever designed this place made really short doorways. "Inmate!" The guard behind you yelled unnecessarily loud, voice echoing harshly, "Turn with your back against the wall!" To your surprise, you watched as only one or two shapes stirred from behind their windows, you'd been expecting all the cells to be full. Despite the number of rooms, you were looking at four guys, tops. You hadn't really wanted to draw attention to yourself but oh well, seems the guy next to you had you covered. "No problem, piggie." You said with a dramatic bow of your head, eyes wide with a large grin as you came up, fucking with this guy. He glared at you, moving to unlock your new door.
When he stepped forward, a fifth shape in the cell next to you that was previously behind the cop caught your eye. Peering at it, you took notice of patchy green hair and nearly melted skin, what looked to be a big bloody smile straining against his face. You felt his eyes snake all over your body, the gaze intense even from behind the door.  You were oddly excited, meeting his pupils best you could in the dark, gauging where they were from the glint in them. He giggled, or at least you could've sworn, a joyous, genuinely happy sound that brought a smile to your lips out of reflex. A rough hand grabbed you by the shoulder, yanking you into your cell, unlocking your cuffs. "Have fun in Arkham, criminal." He sneered one last time, slamming the door in your face.
"Oink oink, asshole." You muttered under your breath, scanning your new room. It wasn't as bad as you were expecting, an elevated bed, a sink, a mirror. Snickering, you realized these were the long-term cells, unlike the temporary one you were in before this. Oddly enough, you had a mirror and a window near the ceiling, luxuries not given to you before. Eyeing yourself in the reflective surface you hopped up on your bed, testing its durability before taking in the outside world in all its glory. Gotham and its big, dark skies with huge weathered buildings to match stared back at you over more damn concrete walls. "You'd think they'd have a designer for a place so exclusive..." You chuckled to yourself, giving out your knees and flopping on your bed.
Once the sound of your amusement cut out, it continued in the cell next to you, light laughter echoing into your cell from small holes punctured here and there through the concrete wall. Don't know how inspection managed to miss that, but this is Gotham, after all. You eyed a hole big enough to see through, although just barely, pressed close to the corner farthest from your bed at eye-level sitting down. "Funny... am I?" You muttered amusedly, knowing the guy next to you could hear you. His laughter increased for a moment, once again bringing a wide smile to your face out of instinct, "Very," He paused for a moment as if thinking. "What's your name, handsome?" You got out of your threadbare bed, sitting on the floor, your back pressed against the wall where the big crack was. "I thought you weren't supposed to let out that kind of thing in here, never know what people'll do with that kind of information." He let out a long, low breath at that, "You're also smart... I might have to keep an eye on you." He said gleefully.
You furrowed your brows, turning slightly towards the hole with an amused smile, "Something tells me you were going to do that anyway." You noted the heavy rasp in his voice despite the high pitch of it, an odd duo that you couldn't help but want to hear more of. He also spoke breathily, as if his vocal cords were weak, you supposed the reasoning for that was the same as his appearance. You uttered your name, hearing the gasp come from the other side. "I trust you know who I am, Jokes?" He let out another long breath, " 's not every day you hear the voice of a murderer like you. Someone with such beautiful crime scenes..." He said with almost sickening affection, you imagined that if he had more of his hair the clown would be twirling it right now. "What got you in here, sweets?" He added, genuine curiosity in his voice evident.
You sighed in annoyance at recalling the story, letting your head loll back again and hit the concrete. "Too much fun 'n too many coppers. Crew got sloppy, didn't monitor an entrance..." You trailed off, assuming he knew where you were going with this, listening to his little sounds here and there to let you know he was paying close attention. "In a shoot-out, I got clipped in the back and rushed to the hospital, only for some asshole to try and kill me in my sleep." You smiled widely at the thought of the lackeys' eyes looking up at you, begging with mute lips and on deaf ears, peepers almost ready to pop out of his head as you hovered over his body, choking the life out of him with your bare hands. Coming back to the present moment and down from the slight rush you continued, "Course I didn't like that, then a doctor walked in and tried to call in more cops, so I had to knock him out..." You groaned, "Then they put me in here because I ripped a guy's tongue out in the cafeteria 'n made him eat it, saying I couldn't be around people." You smiled to yourself, "Oh, but it was fun to watch him gargle."
The green-hair man mumbled something incoherent before muffled, sick laughter rang out again in his cell, bouncing ecstatically off each surface. You could hear that he had both hands over his mouth to cover the audio of his enjoyment, sounding like he was going to pop a lung with the intensity of his fit. You joined him quietly, the infectious noise wrapping around you, making a strange home. He continued his giggling, the sounds of him shifting against the wall behind you made you curious so you turned to sit in front of the hole, looking through it with relative ease. You saw his eyes again, this time in far better detail, and you couldn't help the noise that escaped your lips in seeing him. Something about him just captured your attention and held it firmly, quite honestly you didn't know if you wanted it any different.
His unnaturally bright green irises encased bottomless black pupils, surrounded by his burned yet fair skin. Aggressive red gashes trailed from his temple to the edge of what you could see, looking like scars from a deadly battle, a circumstance you knew all too well. You realized suddenly from the deepness of his smile lines and the fact that they had been unwavering in the time you both had spent studying each other that it might have been a condition, his skin twisted into a permanent sick grin. With a shiver, you uttered, "Fascinating.", not even bothering to hide your intentions. "Something about your eyes, pretty boy," He turned his head slightly, giving you a glimpse of his puffed lips and marred teeth before he straightened again, eyes narrow, "lets me know you'll be lots of fun."
You raised an eyebrow and smiled at him, "That right? Something tells me the same about you, Joker." He raised his eyebrows at that, eyes widening briefly in recognition, "Of course, someone smart as you knows me..." You cocked an eyebrow again, "Your crime scenes aren't so bad yourself." He winked at you at that, "Aww, how sweet. You know..." He leaned forward just slightly, "I think that the two of us are going to get very, very close... I like you." He added at a whisper, like something someone shy would admit to their crush during a free period. You dramatically mulled the idea over in your head, humming and tapping your pointer finger on your lips before dropping it. "I suppose I could come to tolerate you, J." Waiting a second for comedic timing, you winked back at him.
The two guards shared eye contact outside of the entrance to the ward, wondering if they should do something about the shared boisterous and uncontained laughter coming from the closed door behind them.

Idk what kind of asks you want but!! I'm studying abroad rn and its super cool and fun and I'm really shy and introverted and it would be very easy for me to just stay in my room the whole time and I would be okay with that but! I've been challenging myself and pushing myself waaay out of comfort zone and forcing myself to go to things and I've been planning trips to go on alone as well cause I'm on a whole different continent and I wanna gwt as much out of this as I can and I've been having so much fun so far!! I havent made any close friends so far I've mostly been sticking to meeting people and small talk, but that's worlds better than I was doing back home so I'm still proud of myself!! I miss my family a bunch and call them super often because im really close with them but ive been really pushing myselg to not just rely on my family for interaction and get out there and I really feel like I'm doing this right!! This is super long so ill stop here but idk I wanted to share that and I'm not calling my mom until tomorrow so I figured I may as well tell you and then I can get more into it with her later. I hope you hsve a wonderful day and good luck with your tests!!! <3
dude why do you sound like me LMAO but thats sounds so fun!! im glad you are pushing yourself to get out there bc im the exact same way and itd be so much easier to just be alone but its always good to have any sort of social interaction. I'm also a super big home body so i get rlly emotional when im away from my family but i think in that situation you should remind urself that its just a temporary time and not forever! also don't worry about not making close friends, you can always get close with someone who is in the same classes as you or something and you can kinda of make friends that way. I think it always helps for me to literally be my own hype man?? like (i legit recording this on my phone but) the first few weeks at the school im at currently i felt rlly alone/isolated bc it was a whole new school but literally one of the girls from my korean class was also in my linguistics and she remembered my name and now i've been introduced to her friends and now i'm rlly close with her which is wild!! but you just gotta be like "nah i got this im doing great" ...my therapist also told me that is also a good way to handle hard situations is just to remind urself that even the smallest accomplishments are good!! 💗💗
