How to Play Hakuoki SSL on PC
I didn’t find a straightforward guide how to play Hakuouki SSL (modern day AU game with the shinsengumi) so, here is what I did:
I: Things to download:-
1. Download the emulator. I used Vita3k.
2. Download the english translation patch.
3. Download the game. In case the webiste is not working, here is the dropbox link for a copy of the pkg file.
II. Installation:-
1. Emulator:
The emulator should be easy to set up.
Simply follow the onscreen instructions. Make sure to download and install the files it asks you to.
2. Game
1. Click File > Install .pkg on the emulator.
2. Select the game file from step I.3. Let it complete its installation as per usual.
3. It will ask for a zRIF code which is this:
KO5ifR1dQ+d7BQDtN4TaYmRpDrLf083D0TvUP9TbMzjYB2QGHnBtR+hBCb/2qy136y9KbI85PRrjgxsAAGWlFesA
paste this in the box.
Game should be ready after this step!
3. Translation Patch
1. Extract the zip file of english patch.
2. In the folder, go to ‘HakuoGakuen.Otogelib.Hakuoki_SSL_English_Patch_v1.1\PCSG00297\data‘ and copy its contents. There should be two files- ‘GAME.cpk’ and ‘SYSTEM.cpk’
3. Now go to the game data folder location. you can do so by right clicking on the game in the homescreen on the emulator.
For me, it was here ‘C:\Users\AMY\AppData\Roaming\Vita3K\Vita3K\ux0\app\PCSG00297\data‘
4. Paste the two patch files into the data folder. Click ‘replace the files’.
Done! You should be able to play the game in english now.
Note 1: quicksaving was not working for me for some reason, so make sure to make regular manual saves!
Note 2: There are a series of mini games at the end of every route and since they use a randomiser, they are not translated. It is recommended to play Okita's route first for this reason as his games are the easiest (apparently). I have never played it past the mini games on my Saito route and my sister didn't either past the Harada route. It's not undoable ofc, we just don't have the patience for it xD
Once you finish one ending, you can skip the last mini games in other routes.
Note 3: The keyboard controls I could discern so far were:
c- enter
x- back
v- menu
arrow keys to move around the menu
q- quick save
p- emulator menu screen

I'm so thrilled and honored that my painting "Golden Hour" will be in Infected by Art volume 11!
This is the first time I've ever made it in and I'm beyond words of happiness. I really needed this boost to my confidence lately and gosh I'm just over the moon. Thank you judges and thank you everyone who has supported me and encouraged me to keep trying :'D

1998 Birmingham - Number 22 - Dana International - "Diva"
youtube
Dana International taking to the stage in Birmingham to huge cheers with arms wide to receive them is one of the definitive images of Eurovision. A woman who had been staying in the only hotel in Birmingham with bullet-proof windows owing to death threats from reactionary, possessively patriarchal purists with no ability to manage their own disgust and a perverse desire to demonstrate their impotence in public.
She is the figurehead of representation in Eurovision. In 1998. All the way back then, a trans-woman can sashay to the front of the stage, with a huge grin, and tell the world that she's a diva. The diva. In 1998. Last year, 1997, was the first year an out, gay man performed at Eurovision and already Dana International is winning the whole shebang.
You have to admit this was a brave move by the IBA. There was no national selection competition in 1998, no Kdam. Dana International was internally selected, chosen by the organisation to represent them and the nation of Israel. Yes, she'd already had two hit, platinum albums in Israel, several hit singles and been named Best Female Artist of the year in 1994. She'd finished second at Kdam 1995 scoring points from every regional jury. Within Israel she was a star, so choosing Dana International was not a risk in that sense of picking someone without pedigree or talent. They were picking a star. But to have Dana International representing the country? They knew what the reaction was likely to be and it was them who would catch the flak.
Did I say this was all happening in 1998 yet?
Outside of the death threats and internal complaints within Israel, it's astounding just how instantly accepted she was by absolutely everyone else. She was definitely on the pages of the more traditional, red-topped and acid-texted papers. Yes, there was a subtext of disgust, but at this point, Dana International was to them a creature of fascination. An oddity they didn't understand and maybe one who would end up ridiculing Eurovision, something they absolutely loved to mock. To them Dana International was someone who fitted right in to Eurovision and it was Eurovision that was their target not her. She was perfect to flabber Terry Wogan's gast. A weapon for them to use rather than to abuse, for now at least.
Their mistake was not to realise that Eurovision didn't give a shit. Eurovision loves Dana International. He absolute Diva attitude, keeping Terry, Ulrika and Katrina waiting on stage for minutes after she'd won a hugely exciting three-way battle for Macedonia's final points to claim the win. Wearing the feathered frock by Jean-Paul Gaultier that she'd decided not to wear for the performance at the last minute, but felt she just had to put on to collect the trophy - which she never picked up - Dana International returned to the stage and instead of heading for Katrina to acknowledge the win, strode to the centre of the stage to acknowledge her audience.
Eurovision was proud of her. Glowingly ecstatic. It didn't matter if anyone tried to use her against the competition and all that it was increasingly openly representing. Eurovision owned every last morsel of the veiled criticisms and the feigned shock that followed. This was us and always would be.
Dana International's win has always been about who she is and what she means rather than the actual song she's singing. It's a club track, an easy floor-filler and an easy and joyous sing-along to celebrate women and their power. It doesn't matter a jot how musically complex or rich the song is, it does what it needs to do and it's been doing it ever since.
There is a woman who is larger than life There are senses that only she possesses There is magic and there are hard days And a stage that is all hers
Viva the Fucking Diva.

"Social Science Center / Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin", Reichpietschufer 50, 10785, Berlin [1988] _ Architects: James Stirling & Michael Wilford.
"The Berlin Social Science Center was designed by James Stirling and Michael Wilford and was completed in 1988. It is the largest non-housing complex in the IBA (Internationale Bauausstellung) program. Stirling's concept was to create "a friendly, non-bureaucratic place" that looked more like a college than an office building. The implementation of this idea took place in a complex of buildings grouped around the former Imperial Insurance Office by August Busse in 1894. The new buildings reference well-known typologies including a hexagonal campanile, a long building with gallery and street facade, a Greek Stoa and a fortified castle." https://arquitecturaviva.com/publicaciones/av-monografias/james-stirling https://virginia-duran.com/2013/10/24/the-free-architecture-guide-of-berlin/https://wzb.eu/de

"Hey, looks like she's going to be a red head like you." Ikkaku says, leaning over the bundle in Renji's arms.
"And hopefully not your hairline." Iba observed. Ikkaku cackles as Renji attempts to smack Iba without disturbing the baby. Eleventh division alumni gather in the sunny courtyard, curious and in the mood to either congratulate or roast Renji.
"What a pretty child, it's hard to believe she's yours," Yumichika chimed, "What was her name again?"
"Ichika."
"Ha, so you named her after-" Ikkaku started.
"Me~!" Gasped Yumichika, hearing only "Chika". The others looked disgusted at the Third Seat squirming in delight, "What beautiful taste in a name."
Renji was now starting to have second thoughts about the name, but Rukia was adamant.
Kenpachi emerged from the squad house, the others standing to attention immediately. He leans over and Renji almost holds Ichika up like an offering.
"Ichika, huh? Good name. It's good to name a kid after someone you admire." Red hair, violet eyes, not quite the right colour but it made the captain nostalgic, "Big kid. Little Kuchiki is stronger than I thought."
Renji's mouth open and shut for a moment, "Thank you, sir?"
"As soon as she can walk, we'll start Ikkaku training her." Kenpachi said with a sly grin.
"Sir?" Renji panicked.
"Oh, and congrats on the sex."
"Sir!"

Rangiku Matsumoto:
Drunk Smash or Pass
(Takes place in my rewrite universe in the epilogue after the TYBW)
TW: Mentions sex, sexual behaviour, alcohol, pegging
Shunsui: Smash
Good drinking buddies, plus she just thinks Shunsui is hot.
Nanao: Smash
Hot, but in a librarian sorta way, y’know?
Soi Fon: Smash
Rangiku lowkey likes girls that could beat her up.
Omeada: Pass
Still isn’t very attracted to him, even when drunk.
Rose: Pass
Would otherwise smash, but Rangiku has a suspicion that Rose is into men.
Izuru: Smash
Would dominate that depressed lad.
Unohana: Smash
(See Soifon)
Isane: Smash
Less for sex, more for the cuddles afterwards.
Shinji: Smash
A fun time that may or may not involve him getting pegged.
Momo: Pass
Would otherwise smash, but she knows that Toshiro has his eye on her, so she’ll help her Captain out.
Byakuya: Smash
Just thinks he’s hot.
Renji: Smash
Also hot, but in a gross musty sense.
Iba: Smash
Not out of any passion, mostly just for plain and simple sex.
Rindo: Pass
Sees Rindo as too innocent.
Lisa: Smash
(See Soi Fon and Unohana, but also Lisa’s massive hentai collection is also probably a turn on)
Yayahara: Smash
If only for engaging more with the Gyaru culture Yuyu is adopting.
Shuhei: Smash
Almost said pass just to grind his gears, but in all honesty, she does find him attractive.
Mashiro: Smash
Would absolutely not outlast her in bed, but Rangiku is willing to try.
Toshiro: PASS
Not only does Rangiku respect him too much as a Captain, she also sees him as a little brother.
Zaraki: Smash
Kinda similar to Renji, but somehow grosser and a little more violent.
Ikkaku: Smash
Zaraki Lite (Much to Ikkaku’s chagrin)
Yumachika: Pass
(See Rose)
Mayuri: Pass
Even if she did find him attractive, he’d probably be more likely to dissect her.
Akon: Smash
She has always thought that his little horns would make for funky love handles. After hearing this, Akon made a mission to significantly reduce the amount of alcohol Rangiku consumes.
Rukia: Smash
Wouldn’t have said so back in the War, but Rukia’s grown out hair has changed things.
Sentarou: Pass
Just not her type.

INDOLE-3-BUTYRIC ACID (IBA)
Tumblr media
Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) is a natural plant hormone that plays a crucial role in stimulating root development and growth in plants. It's commonly used in horticulture and agriculture to promote successful propagation through methods like rooting cuttings and grafting. IBA helps in the formation of new roots by encouraging cell division and differentiation in the plant's stem tissue. It's available in various formulations, including powders and gels, making it easy to apply during the rooting process. IBA is a valuable tool for enhancing the success rate of plant propagation and ensuring the establishment of healthy plants.

Jerusalem 1999 - The stage and set design
Tumblr media
The whole set up for the International Convention Centre in Jerusalem is reminiscent of the previous year's stage. It's so similar, it feels as if as part of the hosting deal, the IBA got the BBCs artistic layouts, blueprints and maybe even employed some of the same key staff. The scoreboard set up and location in particular is a copy of the previous year. The big difference is the orchestra pit and the structural elements that enclosed it.
Tumblr media
It's bright, wide open and apart from the comparison to 1998, the other stage it feels similar to is 1992. The clock feature to the rear has the same scale as the Viking longboat in Malmö. Except of course, this moves.
This is the other big difference - a sculptural feature at the back that can move and be put in a different configuration for each act. That's very similar to the stages of the 1970s, including Jerusalem 1979. A large feature to catch the eye and provide someone visual change between songs. The clock even moves during some of the acts, though if there's any meaning or purpose to these movements, I haven't yet been able to work out what that it.
Tumblr media
The audience is a little smaller than that in Birmingham, but once again the fans have got the best seats. There are more flags, banners (Victory for Norway!) and lots more excitement from that section, but overall the response feels more muted. Only 2000 seats were available owing to space being taken to enlarge the stage and accommodate the commentators. There's no stage climbing this year, the only moment of unplanned chaos being when Dana International tried to lift the trophy at the end.
Tumblr media
Behind the scenes, there's once more a custom green room, though this time it looks even more like an airport departure lounge than last year. There is a specific space for green room interviews, now an actual thing. Three presenters mean one of them can be allocated to live interviews with performers and their delegations as the scores roll in. Seating the Swedish and Icelandic delegations next to each other is a stroke of accidental genius.
Tumblr media
The designers were Maya Hanoch, Mia Raveh and Ronen Levin.
