#if you feel like reading it - I'm gonna ramble in the tags.#Don't really feel like having it attached to the post for forever... cause what if i just wanna reblog some fairysona art??#anyways #this year sucked a lot. in a lot of ways. but im grateful for it.#healing is stupidly hard and annoyingly enough? not linear in the slightest. Yet infuriatingly - it is worth it.#I am far from done with healing. I've barely scratched the surface.#but im learning and connecting with myself along the way.#The biggest step I've taken this year is working on my people pleasing ways. it's a bad habit birthed from a lot of different traumas.#but it no longer rules my life.#I am not passive anymore - and surprise! that doesn't make me a horrible or evil person.#my kindness is no longer a weakness. its still a part of me and always will be. i won't let go of it.#but it is no longer to a fault #there are people undeserving of my kindness... i realize that now. I know what i will and will not put up with in every kind of relationshi #im still learning and exploring - and i've said a lot of goodbyes this year. I'm sure i will say more.#but that's okay.#some relationships are forever - some serve you for a while and teach you a lesson when they end.#and some relationships stick around and don't *have* to have a deeper connection #and that's also okay.#I didn't think I'd make it through this year in all honesty. We've arrived just in time. It seems Crest didn't disclose the true object of the heist to his partners, so Akka has seized one of the satellite control unit's keycards as collateral until they can renegotiate. The militia has set up camp near the remains of a colonial outpost; both Crest and the control unit should be nearby. You'll need to destroy the unit itself or render it inoperable by retrieving both keycards. Knowing Crest, he'll have given his to someone he trusts, but Akka is less inclined to delegate. She should be in the pirate base when she's not out among the locals.

I've provided you with a GPS tracker. Activate it when you're done, and I'll initiate extraction. The sooner we finish up here, the better.

The nice thing about being caught up on MSQ is I can go through character tags just fine and not get spoiled!

The bad thing about being caught up on MSQ is I can go through character tags and realize oh god, oh no, people are trying to include Urianger in their cute little fancomics and no one is taking the like 30 minutes it would take to figure out the grammatical rules on his speech patterns, OH NO.

It's a very stupid pet peeve of mine but it's just one of those "I know it when I see it" kinda things about BAD fake early-modern English. I'm far from an expert, I never did get my degree, Life Happened, but I don't think you need to be an expert to make it... not... terrible...

Like, literally 30 minutes of research on early modern English, you don't need to be a scholar of Shakespear or the King James Bible, you just gotta remember basic grammar and read shit out loud and if it's Technically Correct but sounds bad, change it and be wrong anyway.

Just. Ngh.

#it's VERY DUMB i'm not the fandom grammar police it's just a personal pet peeve but it really makes me twitchy #i guess i kinda envy their confidence to just be bad at something and not put effort in and post it anyway #i mean if it's their self indulgent hobby then go off i guess but god if ur gonna put it in the character tag pls try orz #i want it on record i don't care that it's Wrong i care that it Sounds Bad #language doesn't exist to have rules it exists to serve the purpose of conveying thoughts to others #but the rules can serve as good guidelines for making that clearer and easier and not sounding like absolute ass #break rules if it serves language better absolutely that is what a Writer Does but it is easier to break rules when u know what they are #or at least it is easier to break rules in ways that are interesting and sound good and use words to convey your ideas #which is what writing is pls just try

Went on reddit last night, looked for LBFaD discussions.

I'm tired. I'm angry, but I'm also tired.

#like okay a show is subjective #it can be hit and miss #i know this #and characters can be hit and miss #i also know this (very very well as the weirdo who thinks Yunzhong could have been a better emperor if he just got some)#(and Ronghao should have got grief counselling because then almost all the bad stuff would *never* have happened)#but if i see one more criticism of Yu Shuxin i'm gonna scream #she's playing a character #she's an actress #they're ALL actors #they're ALL playing characters #why were there so many people conflating the two #and then there were the really nasty personal insults of some of the actors that i read with my own two eyeballs #everyone has their favourites but to go out in public and insult - not just the characters - but the actors playing them???#why are people like that #was it too much to expect intelligent discussion #i mean objectively i can make myself see some of the points made #but i got real tired real quick of reading the same things over and over #i don't know if the rejection of Orchid is cultural or if we've just been conditioned to 'despise' certain portrayals of femininity?#when i first watched LBFaD i was SO into it #but then i think i implicitly understood what the dynamics between Orchid and DFQC were supposed to be and i absolutely loved them #to me they were the embodiment of persephone and hades #and the development of Orchid's relationship with DFQC is exactly everything i ever headcanoned that particular greek myth would be like #in the end these are actors who took risks and made decisions with their director about how to perform their characters #and i appreciate the risks they took because they would have *known* these were Risks in terms of audience reception #anyway #after emerging from reddit feeling sadder #angrier #and like i needed a bath to wash it all off #i'm reminded once more why i *do* prefer this hellsite better than others

Gortash x Durge reunion fic is doneeeee

Okay by done I mean I still need to extend the intro and do all my editing but I'm at the point there I'm EDITING and not WRITING so hurrah because I've been working on this since late November and I'm SO happy to see it finally coming together at last

I originally assumed this would be around the length of Departure from the Vulgar Crowd, maybe a bit longer, and it's looking like this bad boy will be clocking in around 9-9.5k so whoops

#I'm just so happy to have real serious progress on this bad boy #It's a lot of very intense conversation between two major freaks so everything takes extra time and planning to make it just right #Ugh now I have to think of a title rip #Also this has really been eating into even my fic reading time so I'll be able to catch up on my backlog soon!
