Anne Baxter:

The prettiest murderer in that film. Just so beautifully evil as Nefertari.
Anne Baxter was part of my Bisexual Awakening. My family has a tradition that every Palm Sunday we watch The ten commandments on TV together... And starting from a very young age, I essentially developed a crushes on Anne Baxter's Nefertiri & Yul Brynner's Ramses. Dude, the woman was HOT! They both were! My crush definitely wasn't helped by the fact that Anne Baxter's costumes were a bit on the sheer side. She had a way of capturing you with her eyes, and I never understood why Charlton heston's Moses didn't just have a threesome with Nefertiri and Ramses. LOL
Her Nefertiri in The Ten Commandments was FORMATIVE TO ME. If not the hottest old movie lady, then she definitely played the hottest old movie character. if that makes sense.

Look. Listen. I only *just* discovered her on a post from the Have You Seen This Romcom poll blog. Saw she had the same last name as me and went OOH hi hello. Went to her IMdB and saw she was born in Indiana like moi. I am now even more intrigued. Been eagerly telling my partner this, and he was like "maybe you guys are distantly related?" And after 2 hrs of going down the tumblr tag + her imdb photos, I'm In Deep(tm) and I can't stop looking at her like 😍 When I go to my grandma's house, bet your ass I'm gonna check my grandpa's genealogy and see if we're somehow related. Sorry that's not really propaganda I just got real excited, esp when I saw that the submission deadline was extended (bless your soul). Narrowing down the movies where she's hottest in was Hell tyvm. I've only just discovered her, she looks gorgeous to me in every movie still I see of her gdi lol.

Writing Amy Pond & A Different "Doctorification"
I'm not gonna lie- I appreciate the arc that the show had going for Amy when they weren't actively messing it up/contradicting it/writing borderline unwatchable episodes (y'know, the whole losing faith in the Doctor/growing up/choosing a life outside of the TARDIS thing), but I am having so much fun teasing out Amy's characterization in this fic series. This characterization of her that is highly based in how she acts specifically in The Eleventh Hour/Beast Below/Vincent and the Doctor, this sort of kindness with an edge, the girl who can figure things out because of her empathy and her ability to think outside the box.
We always think about Doctorification in sort of "dark" terms in this fandom, especially when it comes to the example of Clara. Like, these characters who find themselves becoming these more dangerous, ruthless version of themselves, like with Martha and Clara and Davros' whole "Children of Time" speech in Journey's End. (And I do like Clara's corruption/obsession/ruthlessness/mutual-codependence-until-it-destroys-them arc, trust me, even if I find it a little weak in places- it fascinates me.)
But what I am finding when writing Amy is that she's getting this sort of "Doctorification" arc. There is something buried in her backstory that has always struck me as desperately lonely (outside of the one-episode Mel reveal), this kid who was considered "mad" or just a "troublemaker" by everyone she knew and yet instead of letting that make her resentful to the world, it just made her kind. (Sounds familiar, doesn't it?)
And the character arc I'm writing for her is about her learning how to use her kindness/empathy to save the day, especially when it comes to her developing relationship with the TARDIS and how she connects with it on a level really only seen with the Doctor. She's already "flown" the TARDIS twice in this series (though it was nearly entirely the TARDIS who did the flying itself) and was the one to figure out that Idris was the TARDIS, because of the connection she's made with the TARDIS itself over the years, this sort of love and understanding that passes between each other due to being mutual "thieves"/"mad"/lonely/having care/love for the Doctor.
It's about how she can pick locks, which I know is a detail only mentioned in the Beast Below but I think that it points not just to the fact that Amy clearly got into trouble as a kid, but that she is clever in a way that the show didn't always let her be. She can think outside the box.
And I think it's these three things: loneliness, kindness/empathy, and cleverness/thinking-outside-the-box that I think are allowing Amy to sort of get her "Doctorification" arc in the middle of her other arcs involving her relationship to River and her romantic relationship with the Doctor/Rory.
And I really hope I can pull off something cool with it in the middle of balancing the Doctor's arc (especially as he becomes Thirteen), Bill's story, River's story (and the associated Clara story), and Rory's arc as well. It's a bit harder to juggle it all when they're not all pointing in the exact same direction (as they were with the Master arc) but I'm doing my best to pull it off. There might be slightly longer gaps between updates (maybe three days instead of two) at times, but right now it's really shaping up. I've just got to maneuver all the pieces into place.
For now, we have a reunion fic to get to and maybe some proper flying lessons for Amy and River- they've earned it by now, don't you think?

What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why?
High Enough by K Flay, because it's quite wordy and kinda fast, so when I don't stumble over words or get them wrong, it feels so good. Also, I just really enjoy listening to it.
What is your Enneagram type?
I just did the test because I had no idea. Apparently I'm a 5.
Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why?
Yes and no. I love hearing people talking about things they're passionate about, but I have ADHD so it needs to hold my interest for an extended period of time, which isn't always easy. I quite like Jenny Nicholson's, except for the Star Wars ones.
Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend.
I don't actually remember anything about them, only my mum telling me as an adult that they were twins, one boy and one girl.
What is your go-to way to fall asleep?
Curled up, listening to Adam being his sadistic, chaos gremlin self.
If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why? (In tandem, if you have changed your name, why did you pick that one?)
Growing up, I read a book with a character named Starr and kind of wanted to change my name to that. These days, I can't say I love my name, but can't think of anything else I'd change it to.
What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why?
Maybe Regulus's, especially the newest one (the thought of having somebody in my head and never having any space to myself kinda terrifies me, but I also like the idea, because hell yes, he could absolutely kick those intrusive thoughts to the curb. Also, the parts where he starts revealing his true feelings about stuff via the random "demonic" voice just does something to me).
Although the Adam storyline, especially Sadistic Vampire Kidnaps You (both for the sleep aid factor, and just general I really enjoy listening to it) will probably always be my absolute favourite.
What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.)
Sam. I think he's got so much love from Redacted fans that I'm almost burnt out from it. Also Milo, David and Vincent a little bit, for the same reason. I still listen to and enjoy their audios, but they'll never be my first choice to listen to, and it's very unlikely I'd relisten to them.
Tell me about that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to.
Idk, I don't rewatch or reread things enough to learn the words to them. Maybe Buffy, because I was hardcore obsessed with it when I was younger, but nowhere near knowing all the words level.
Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to? Like- forget dating, which dude do you want to be your best friend?
My first thought was Hux, although I would totally date him, if we were in a universe where he was, y'know, real, and not dating Damian.
Maybe I should've said Asher. As much as I adore him, I don't really think about him in a romantic context.
Do you have a go-to thing you ramble about when you’re tired, and if so, what is it? (For example, my boyfriend knows I’m ready to sleep when I start talking about space.)
Since I'm pretty much always alone, I have nobody to connect the dots on that. Maybe I should ask my cat, hahaha.
Tell me your go-to gas station and drink combo.
I don't drive, and don't live within walking distance from one. If I did, it'd probably be something sweet, and a drink, preferably something frozen and/or bright blue
Tell me about your favorite playlist at the moment.
My going to work musical playlist that I've compiled is all killer, no filler if that's what you meant.
What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why?
Boyfriend asmr, and I mean traditional asmr, rather than the audio roleplays. I've been very single for a long time, to the point I don't even know if I could actually date, if (by some miracle) some weirdo did find me attractive.
And whatever else you think tells me about who you are!
I'm literally crying while typing this, and can't think of anything else. Sorry for the trauma dump, if I didn't want to know your answer so badly, I'd just delete and forget about it. 💙
Tumblr media
This one took me a second- I was really staring down the Redactedness brackets- but when I saw it, it dawned on me so clearly and so resplendently. Ollie would be so wonderfully perfect for you.
Little things first- I think y’all would have a good time together, because it seems like y’all would like each other and the same things. Like, I can absolutely see Ollie having had a Buffy phase at some point. (He had a crush on either Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Borneanaz, or both. Probably both.) He’d love the same video essays you do and would be more than okay with pausing it or speeding it up if the attention span isn’t spanning.
Big things second- I think Ollie would be so good for you? Your being a Five and what you said about Regulus makes me think the sweet, unempowered type is just what you need. No magic, no tragic backstory, no possibility of having your mind read or wiped- just a darling man who loves you, your cats, and Star Trek.
Song:
You know I wanna be your light/ In darkness, how you find me just in time/ To tell me what I needed to hear/ So if you don't know what you need/ You can leave it all to me/ I don't want you worried 'bout a thing/ I know you'd do the same for me
I love Ollie and the domestic, little ways he shows his love and support- he’s just a wholesome dude, and he’s a sleeper favorite of mine for that reason. This song fits in my head because it reminds me of his sweetness and how far he’s come and matured and how dependable and loving he’d be as a boyfriend and life partner for you.
Runner-Ups:
Aaron was a pretty close runner-up, because I loved the idea of pairing you with someone unempowered and stable. (Ollie, I liked more because of his energy and lighthearted nature; also Aaron also strikes me as a Five, and I don’t typically do same Type pairs.) Huxley, I also love because of his steady, sweet but jovial nature, but I really got stuck on someone unempowered for you by this point.
Note: I’m so sorry I made you cry and you like literally didn’t trauma dump at all you are so fine and good honey
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

I'm feeling a tad bit too foggy to write up proper book reviews this month, so instead you're getting a list of Media I Particularly Enjoyed (In February)! for the audience of all two of you where these will all crossover, enjoy <3
Books:
Namesake by Kate Stradling (I also rec. The Heir and the Spare & Brine and Bone by her)
River Inside the River by Gregory Orr (I especially rec. this to anyone who is also a writer/poet, the last sequence was so lovely I had to stare at the wall every time I turned a page)
Devil's Cub by Georgette Heyer (still makes me laugh to no end)
The Selected Poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay by, well, her (I love the simplicity and sharpness of her voice, two of the three long-form poems at the very beginning made me SOB and then the rest were just very solidly good and precious to me)
Movies:
Babette's Feast (beautiful luminous never been done before)
Ponyo (rewatched after many years, still brings me unending light)
The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness (what I consider the better of the two Ghibli docs on HBO, and it may only be dear to me because it covers the development of The Wind Rises, but it left me with a weird sorrowful achey peace in my heart)
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (I saw this with friends and I very much think you should see this with a buddy, I had a great time cackling and gasping with them over it)
Games:
Crystal Project (an as-open-world-as-you-can-make-it spiritual-successor-to-classic-JRPGs game that I was enveloped by for the better part of January and the beginning of this month. It has a great deal of quality of life things that are great for me who just likes to climb cliffs and fly over the sea, and the story was just spare and sweet enough for my taste 4.5/5)
The Last Campfire (a short and sweet puzzle-y game about the process of letting go and learning to say goodbye that is very well suited to the state I'm in currently 3.9/5)
A Space for the Unbound (a little indie that's heavily story-based; I watched a playthrough of this and unfortunately was already miserable enough that it didn't quite devastate me as normally it would have but I truly have been thinking about it constantly ever since 3.75/5)
CrossCode (for full clarity, I'm still in the midst of playing this, but I adore the main character and I think the friendships in it are so so so sweet and the conversations that they have about the game they're in get to me because I'm like hey I'VE said that!!! Issa little ARPG about a fictional MMO and the players in it and the art is GREAT 4/5 so far I'm deeply invested in it)
Songs:
Staring Contest - James Ivy (quite frankly I can't tell you why I'm obsessed with this but the bit about laundry in the closet makes me feel so known idk)
You Let Me Down - Alessia Cara
I'll Call You Mine - girl in red (drums!)
Holding Pattern - Nickel Creek (the circling chord pattern is so sparkly to me personally)
I Know the End - Phoebe Bridgers (you know the drill this song is my companion when I drive around town shout-singing at the top of my lungs)
Trying to Feel Alive - Porter Robinson (my song of this year maybe)

I'm curious, assuming you like the Netherlands as a character in Hetalia. What made you get in the the character of the netherlands?
Y’know, I’ve been staring at this ask for a bit now just trying to figure out how to answer it and I’m still honestly unsure! Ned has been my favourite character for as long as I can remember (along with Sweden, he’s my other fav!). Something just drew me to him. Maybe its that Nijntje/Miffy was the one thing that never failed to calm me down as a child with undiagnosed autism that was VERY prone to overloads, maybe its that my mom used to plant tulips when I was growing up, maybe its that Vincent van Gogh is my favourite artist of all time and that I always found his struggle with mental health to be relatable and I found a sense of familiarity with it, maybe its that I’m a very blunt person by nature and the Dutch seem to take that as a normal thing compared to growing up in America where I was seen as rude, maybe its my obsession with European history, specifically around maritime history and the Age of Exploration, plus the 80 years war, it could be so many things… Somehow, I was just so drawn to Ned as a character. This handsome tall beefy blonde with stupid hair, bit of a tsundere, questionable morals at times, but still such a huge softie deep down… I dunno! I just love that giant Dutch idiot. And as someone with a hyperactive imagination (maladaptive daysreams), a lot of trauma and trust issues, and overall just never having had a healthy relationship, selfshipping is something I kind of always did even before I knew it had a name! So shipping myself with Ned came pretty naturally. Now at 20 years old, I’m living in the Netherlands, majoring in Dutch Studies, and… Still in love with that giant dummy. What can I say, I’m the epitome of cringe culture. ✌️

Hi, sorry this is a long ask but I really appreciated your posts! The daemon/demon allegory had been bothering me since that storyline started but I hadn't really been able to articulate why, and it brought a lot of other issues to light for me as well!
(Personally I never finished the freelancer series because the whole bridging/SA allegory really made me angry so I appreciate that someone else also saw the reasons why that decision was... poor to say the least).
And definitely agreed about the over-polarization of characters into good vs. bad!
I feel like a lot of the story decisions are based on the fact that many people are self-inserting, which unfortunately means reducing a lot of the nuance and gray aspects that would be more interesting to explore. Like with Vincent and Lovely- from a self-insert perspective, it's more 'romantic' and comforting to think that your partner would have as limited a power divide between you as possible and would take steps to ensure that, even though narratively it's not as interesting a choice. Which is also why I think the Bright Eyes storyline was axed, and why Love's obsession code was removed, and why I'm afraid that Darlin's story resolution is just going to fade into some milquetoast version of "love fixes everything!" rather than what it could have been- because people are putting themselves in the place of the listeners, it reinforces the idea that to like a character you have to endorse and agree with all their actions, so necessarily any character doing "bad" things or making darker decisions is a "bad person" and people don't want to imagine themself as a "bad person", no matter what that does to the story being told.
Honestly, Sam and Darlin' are my favorite characters which is why it pains me that their story is edging dangerously close to "I got into a relationship and it solved all my problems!" rather than two people with trust issues and unresolved trauma finding a friend when they needed one and that relationship slowly blossoming into something more as both of them come to terms with the things that are haunting them (which I agree would make more sense if Sam had either been turned more recently or if it had been clearly established that the clan is more loose-knit and not in fact a workable support system for him); honestly when the story started and it said slow burn I kind of thought they wouldn't start dating until much later, maybe even after things with Quinn came to a head, and I'm a bit disappointed we only got about 2 audios of them interacting pre-relationship. (Also I have a lot of problems with the way things between Darlin' and the pack were "resolved" in one frankly condescending and empty speech about family but I won't get into it here)
Anyway sorry again for the long message but thank you for your posts!
No need to apologize for the long message, i appreciate them You’re welcome for the posts, im happy to know that some people really enjoy them and that they’re making people think a little. Apparently a handful of people have dropped the Freelancer series because of the choices that were made in it, which is valid. I’m not exactly happy that its so bad that so many of us see issue with it, but i am glad to know im not the only person who feels it was wrong. I’m not neccesarily concerned about people self-inserting into listener characters, that is what they are for, Redacted made all content gender neutral and as inclusive as possible for this exact purpose. I think some of the issues with story-telling and overpolarization with characters does stim from Redacted’s desire to write content as inclusive as possible though. I respect this decision and desire, but i don’t think you can ever please everyone when it comes to the type of content you make without sanitizing a lot of it. Maybe this opinion stims from my general ‘doesn’t give a fuck’ attitude about creation, but he really could have just gone for it and made characters grayer (especially ones the listeners have romantic relationships with), regardless of whether or not it brings in a larger audience and pleases the most amount of people. It would be generally better from a story telling perspective. We already have ASMR content (from other creators) that caters specifically to a certain audience that excludes a lot of people (content that is very gendered, content that is racially specific with blushing and hair, etc etc), I think making content that is gender-neutral with some more complicated and grayer characters is a good middle ground, a niche that Redacted can fill. Maybe with Redacted leaving the discord server, he’ll be seeing a lot less of peoples opinions personally, and will start writing content that better fits his writing style and his characters again. It’s something that i would be really happy to see again, genuinely. Because i love Darlin’ and Sam so much is definitely the reason im concerned about where their story is going. But again, maybe Redacted distancing himself from the fanbase will save some storylines. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knows tho Thanks again for the ask 💖

14&16 of those asks if u like c:
rowan is talking about this ask game (still open)!!
14. What's your favourite way to emotionally destroy your favourite character?
[hair flick] being deprived of my presence, obviously
ok ok more seriously, i think it's to deprive them of what they want? i mentioned it in a different ask, but essentially i like to really turn up the juice on the whole obsessive thing - normally, it's a particular person (generally the reader character) that they're obsessed with, but it doesn't have to be. as a result, the main thing that fucks them up is when that person gets taken away - think william mourning vincent and alexis in blood sugar, baby!, elliott and sunshine sent reeling from their separation thanks to closeknit, or alexis absolutely howling to the back row in mad or sublime
looking more specifically at my FAVOURITE character, it has to be gavin/vindemiator - and wow, he really gets the short end of the stick when it comes to me! it's probably most obvious when i'm looking at the imperium, with vindemiator falling to pieces over the life he can't have in five more minutes, or being completely whaled on by president lasko in come into my parlour, but it's funny you should ask - i actually have two different wips involving gavin on the go at the moment, both of which deal with gavin being isolated from the life and the people he's "supposed" to have, so expect to see some more of this in the hopefully-not-too-distant-future hehe
16. Do you primarily want your readers to feel sad or turned on (or both) (or neither)?
i mean, probably mostly turned on? obviously there's the actual sexy stuff, like kingdom come, resist and elongate, stranglehold, and ALL MINE, but in general i try to come up with a world where everything is a little bit sexier than normal, in a kind of slick, smooth way where one-liners always land, comedy pratfalls are always perfectly timed, and everyone always commits to the bit - that is, in the sense that they all have a little bit of 'oh god well i can't NOT fuck them', whether that be because they're 'aw you're so sweet and endearing' fuckable or 'wow you are so deeply and intensely fucked up' fuckable, yk??
there are some times where the goal is sadness - think of motion capture, wrapped up in clover, one more paradox, five more minutes - and for those the inherent sexiness kind of gets dialled down a bit in favour of 'oh fuck that's horrible oh GOD that's just mean', because the focus is on the cruelty of the story that's being forced on these characters, and the way that they're being buried under the weight of a narrative that doesn't care for them at all (or maybe it's paying too much attention to them?).
that's not to say that i'm opposed to making things sad and sexy at the same time - william in blood sugar, baby! is definitely my finest example, and i'd say that lasko in come into my parlour and gavin in a ring on the carousel actually pull it off more successfully than i thought they would, albeit in very different ways!

Saw this Doctor Who ask and maybe I should give this a try. Here are the questions: 1,3,5,10,12 (even if you're not into live action shipping),19,20.
Sure thing!
1. What was the first episode you watched/remember? For the new series, Rose, I watched that the day it aired with my family. What's really funny is I remember my brother and I knew nothing about it besides that it might be scary, and then when it finished we were desperate to see the next one and our parents teased us that that might be too scary! And for the old series, I'm ashamed to say it's Warriors of the Deep. Basically my cousin had the VHS tapes of almost every classic episode and would get my parents to record them onto DVDs since they hadn't released everything on DVD at the time, and I watched that one since I was curious about classic Who. What's funny to me is I mostly liked it at the time!
3. Who is your favourite Doctor? Why? I've got loads of favourites I can never choose between actually! I guess if you put a gun to my head and made me choose one I'd have to say Nine, his run is almost perfect to me and I love that unlike almost every other doctor he kinda has a well-defined arc across his era. My other big faves are Four, Five, Seven and Ten.
5. Any complaints about the show? Oh tonnes lmao, but I'll just highlight two big ones the show's had basically since Moffat and has never managed to properly fix imo. First, a lot of stories don't feel like they have much to say about the world or characters. What I love about sci-fi is its ability to comment on that kind of stuff through an interesting lens, and sometimes Doctor Who has done it really well (Amy's Choice, Vincent and the Doctor, The Girl Who Waited and Heaven Sent for example) but back in the latter part of the classic series and the RTD era almost every story managed it. And second, they have an unhealthy obsession with lore and the Doctor's backstory. I don't mind bringing back classic monsters and stories developing our understanding of the Doctor like Human Nature, The Doctor's Wife or Day of the Doctor, but they don't need their name or origins revealed and it can't really be done in a satisfying way, so why bother? My friend and I were joking yesterday that Vinder and Bel's kid might turn out to be the Timeless Child and therefore the Doctor and I laughed but then I went 'oh fuck, they would totally do that, wouldn't they?' I just hope once he takes over RTD will be able to fix those problems, and I mostly have faith he will since his post-Doctor Who work has been really good.
10. Favourite companion? For the classic series, Ace, she's a badass with a really interesting backstory, she's charming as hell and her last few stories give her some of the best character bits a companion's ever gotten. And for the new series, Donna, not only do she and Ten have one of the funniest Doctor/companion dynamics ever she also grows a lot over the course of her run and I love how much of a positive influence she is on the Doctor as well as he is on her. And I feel like naming some honourable mentions too: Jo, Sarah Jane, Leela, K9, Romana II and Tegan from classic, Rose, Jack (fuck John Barrowman though obviously), Martha and Yaz from new, and Frobisher, Benny, Charley and Evelyn from the expanded universe.
12. Favourite romance involving a Doctor? Nine, Rose and Jack. I'm a sucker for poly stuff obviously and they have such a fun dynamic, I love Nine and Ten with Rose too but they were always a bit more strait-laced. It felt more fun when they briefly had Jack around too.
19. Cybermen or Daleks? Definitely Daleks, there are some good Cybermen stories out there obviously but Daleks have a more iconic design and imo their best stories are better than the best Cybermen stories. I think I've mentioned before but Remembrance of the Daleks and Dalek are some of my favourite bits of television I've ever seen honestly.
20. If you could change anything about the show, what would it be? Give Moffat and Chibnall a bit less creative control and some more co-writers. A lot of their best stories were written by other writers and a lot of their worst aspects were things they were able to do because no one would tell them no, and I think we'd be better off with a larger range of writers (maybe even more than one woman or POC writing an episode per series, even!) who would have better ideas for storytelling than mystery boxes about the characters' identities.
Thanks for asking, this was fun! I have a lot to say on this series I don't tend to get the chance to say very much in case it wasn't obvious xD

Josephine Baker (The Siren of the Tropics, ZouZou)— Josephine Baker was an American born actress, singer, and utter icon of the period, creating the 1920s banana skirt look. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion film. She fought in the French resistance in WWII, given a Legion of Honour, as well as refusing to perform in segregated theatres in the US. She was bisexual, a fighter, and overall an absolutely incredible woman as well as being extremely attractive.
Anne Baxter (The Ten Commandments, All About Eve)—her soft, gentle voice in "all about eve", those gentle eyes with something odd behind them, the way she flips from Sweet Innocent to Viper on a dime......there was something Built Different about anne baxter, man, and it makes her so good for playing people who are Built Wrong. also one of my favorite batmen villains (her joint episode w vincent price is a delight) and of course I'm obsessed with her columbo episode where she bosses around edith head and does fabulous movie star things for no good reason. and i would be REMISS if i didn't mention her slink—oh the slink—in the ten commandments...................pardon me i must go think of sinning again

Josephine Baker:

Black, American-born, French dancer and singer. Phenomenal sensation, took music-halls by storm. Famous in the silent film era.
Tumblr media
Let's talk La Revue Negre, Shuffle Along. The iconique banana outfit? But also getting a Croix de Guerre and full military honors at burial in Paris due to working with the Resistance.
Tumblr media
She exuded sex, was a beautiful dancer, vivacious, and her silliness and humor added to her attractiveness. She looked just as good in drag too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I know she was more famous for other stuff than movies and her movies weren’t Hollywood but my first exposure to her was in her films so I’ve always thought of her as a film actress first and foremost. Also she was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture so I think that warrants an entry
Tumblr media
Iconic! Just look up anything about her life. She was a fascinating woman.

Edana Romney (Corridor of Mirrors)— Look. It is definitely a case for your discretion. Edana Romney had only one major film role and then foundered in a Britain/Hollywood that didn’t like her look. But the film she starred in was also one she CO-WROTE and co-founded a whole production company to make happen, and it is a lavish, imaginative gothic romance where she runs around in fanciful medieval gowns and has incredible eyelashes. She was also known in later years as a Hollywood hostess who had popular “twelfth night” parties, gayest of all Shakespeare plays to have a party about.
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
