P/s: please feel free to ignore if you have your own ideas/make any adjustments ☺️ tysm!! 🫶🏻❤️‍🔥

-
Oh, how could he ever resist someone like you? He found himself drawn in the moment you two met. It was so obvious too, with the way his gaze lingered on you every chance he got.
The way his jaw would clench whenever you playfully flirted with Alejandro.... He tried to convince himself he shouldn't be jealous. You weren't his. You're out of his league.
-
"Y'know..."
Rudy watched as you leaned in closer to a man, he watched the way you so effortlessly enchanted everyone you met, the way you got the guys guard down and slipped drugs into his glass of whiskey and he was none the wiser. He'd be out like a light soon.
He was impressed, horny and jealous. The only one of those feelings he found acceptable was being impressed by you, the other two he certainly tried to fight away.
-
It seems no matter how hard he tries, you manage to reel him back in.
"Rudy!"
You chimed in excitedly and your hand lightly brushed against his arm, a wide smile on your features which makes his heart pound faster.
"Yes?"
He internally cursed himself for how meek he sounded, he usually was far more calm and collected than this. You really did a number on him.
"I just missed you. You haven't been around much lately. Are you alright?"
He swallowed the bubbling guilt down like a bitter pill, he didn't mean to make you worry. He simply has been dealing with his feelings, trying to figure out how to tell you... But every single time he loses his confidence.
"I'm fine. Just a bit busy lately."
You furrowed your brows... You didn't believe him. You could tell he was crushing on you but you didn't realize just how bad. You decided not to push the issue though and just nodded.
-
"She's trouble."
Alejandro stated the moment he first saw you, the way you walked with such confidence... The sass dripping from you like molten lava, yet at the same time you were kind and dedicated and knew how to pour on the sugar to fool a man with ease.
However, unlike with other men you didn't act as flirty with Rodolfo. He chalked it up to you not being interested but in reality it was because you genuinely care about him.
-
His hands were so sweaty and he kept awkwardly wiping his palms on his pants.
"How am I supposed to confess- like this?"
He mumbled as he was considering chickening out for the umpteenth time... However when he spotted you with another man all over you- that green monster inside reared its ugly head. He had to do something about these feelings, he couldn't just keep shoveling dirt on top of them and hoping they'd fade.
Not saying a damn word he walked over, a little hint of murder written in his eyes as he carefully grasped your wrist.
"Rudy- hey wait- where are we going?"
His change in behavior confused you to say the least, him tugging you away from the man. He made eye contact with you, taking a deep breath he finally let it out.
"I like you... A lot. Will you please go out with me?"
Your confused expression turned into that of pure delight, taking both his hands in yours while maintaining the eye contact.
"I thought you'd never ask~"
This made him chuckle slightly, averting his eyes with a goofy little smile.
"Alejandro was right... You're trouble."
-
{I changed some things. I hope it turned out alright. Thank you for the request, anon!}
{I just realized it was a smut req I'm so sorry}

Monday mornings in Manhattan can be one of two things: they can either be an inspiring start to your week or sheer hell, and for Y/N it seemed to be shifting towards the latter today. She dashed out of the subway and started running for her life – she was going to be late for her shift at Starbucks, and her insufferable manager would have her head. Six minutes to 8 am, she thought, checking her watch, okay, I can get there in four. "Shit, I'm sorry!" she yelled as she bumped hard into a woman's shoulder, who gave her a dirty look, but she couldnt risk stopping.
The infamous green logo was finally in visibility, and in a minute she was bursting through the side doors into the kitchen, then bending from the waist clutching the excruciating stitch in her side. "Damn, girl", her friend and colleague Cami said, laughing and looking concerned at the same time, "what happened to you?"
Y/N couldn't speak from all the panting, she staggered over to an empty countertop and tied her apron strings while she caught her breath. "Oh God", she said, still slightly breathless, "I woke up so late today, I had to run all the way from the damn subway to here." Cami shot her a sympathetic grimace. "We should probably get out there before Tristan has a cow", she said, and both of them rushed through the door to the front counter. As usual, the place was fairly crowded with college students and sophisticated professionals alike. Y/N saw Tristan glare menacingly at the two of them, but since they weren't technically late he couldn't make a comment.
In an hour's time, Y/N felt as though she had served about three hundred Americanos and sugary sweet Frappuccinos, and she was already tired of it. In all honesty, she hated being a barista, but it was a means to an end, so four days a week she plastered a smile on her face and made people's coffee and mopped floors and took out trash. She needed the money to help pay off her student loans, not to mention rent. She saw her next customer walk up to the till out of the corner of her eye. "Good morning!" she said, keeping her voice unbearably chipper, "I'm Y/N, how can I help you today?" Her voice wavered as she got a proper look at him – he was probably the most handsome man she'd ever seen. He didn't look that much older than her, maybe three or four years at most, but everything about him screamed 'money', from his perfectly coiffed hair to the tailored suit to the expensive watch on his wrist. "Hello", he said with a crooked smile. His voice was deep, with an unusual yet captivating accent. "I'd like a tall latte with an extra shot, please." Y/N mentally pulled herself together and quickly took his order down.
"Can I get your name?", she asked, half because it was her job and the other half out of personal curiosity. "I'm Elijah", he replied. "Elijah. Cool name", she said, her wide smile becoming borderline manic with every passing second. God, he's hot. Who let him walk in here looking like freaking Adonis? "Excuse me", she heard him say distantly, snapping her back to reality. "I'm running a bit late, so if you wouldn't mind..."
"Yes! Of course, um, that'll be $3.75", she told him, feeling the embarrassment creeping up her neck. He handed her a five dollar bill, and slipped the change that she gave him back into the tip jar. Walking over to the coffee machine where Cami was working, Y/N swooned silently while she took a peek at Elijah. "Holy crap, that guy you're serving is crazy hot", she whispered. "I know right?!" Y/N whispered back, as she pushed a few buttons, waiting for the machine to pour out his drink. She fidgeted nervously, debating the extremely bad idea that was running through her mind. "Okay, you know how you say I never do anything crazy, or take risks? I'm about to do something crazy", she said in a rush, picking up his latte and slapping a lid on it. She scribbled his name on the cup, plus a little something extra, and headed to the other end of the counter. "I have a tall latte, extra shot for Elijah!" she called out. He made his way through a small crowd of people to the front. "Thank you", he said to her, giving her a friendly smile as he took the cup from her. "You're welcome and have a great day!"
"What did you do?" Cami asked, confusion on her face. "I may have written a coffee-related pick up line on his cup", she replied, covering her mouth with her hands. "Y/N! You did not just do that!" Cami said, shocked at her friend's sudden courage. "Well he's never been here before and I'll probably never see him again, so I figured why not?" she reasoned, as Cami burst out laughing. A furious voice suddenly boomed behind them. "I do not pay you two to chat." Both of them nervously turned around in unison. "Get back to work", Tristan scoffed. "Sorry, Tristan", they muttered apologetically, and back to work they went.
-
Elijah got in the back seat of the car waiting outside, and motioned for the driver to start moving. He was already ten minutes late for his first day at work: not a great way to set a good example. The traffic in Manhattan was so much heavier than back home in New Orleans. His feet tapped the floor of the car as though of their own accord – he was nervous to head an office on his own, without Father's help, and when he was nervous, coffee helped. As he took the first satisfying sip, he noticed something scrawled on the side of his cup, and took a closer look. Right below his name in small, untidy writing read, If you were ground coffee, you'd be espresso cause you're so fine. He almost dropped the cup in his initial shock – he wasn't used to such boldness – but then couldn't help but let out a long, loud laugh. Smooth move, Y/N, he thought sarcastically. He decided then that he would be coming back to that particular Starbucks a lot more in the future.
‐The next day-
Through the onslaught of yesterday's business meetings, Elijah found his mind continually wandering back to that terribly corny line on his coffee cup, and to her – and that's why he was standing outside the coffee shop again, in the hopes of seeing her. It took gumption and a certain lack of shame to take a shot like she did, and he liked that. But it was when he walked through the doors and caught sight of her behind the counter that he realised just how pretty she was, with eyes like stars and skin that glowed like a sunset. He waited in line impatiently for his turn.
Y/N was having a decent morning so far: thankfully she managed to get to work on time, and she was feeling weirdly cheerful after her stint with yesterday's hot guy. Thank God I'll never see him again, she thought, inwardly snickering, could you imagine the horror– "Hello", she heard a familiar voice say from behind. She froze at the sound of it. Good Lord, that's him.
Elijah noticed her eyes widen at the sight of him for just a moment before she composed herself. "Good morning!" she said in an unnaturally chirpy voice that he assumed was solely for the workplace, "I'm Y/N, what can I get you today?" He gave an amused chuckle. "I remember your name, Miss. And I'd like one tall latte with an extra shot please, same as yesterday." She took down his order, feeling his stare burning into her. "That'll be $3.75." He handed over the money, and put the change into the tip jar again. "Oh, it's Elijah, right?" she asked him, trying her hardest to be nonchalant. He hummed and nodded in response, and she turned around to walk away. "By the way," she heard him say behind her, "you're quite the writer, aren't you?" Her head whipped around to look at him. "I wasn't quite so impressed though. I think you can do better." A faint smirk formed on his lips, and he looked at her as though challenging her. She narrowed her eyes a degree and smirked back before walking off. He wanted more, well, he was gonna get it. She scribbled the cheesiest line she could think of onto the cup, laughing to herself at how bad it was.
He was waiting for her at the other end of the counter. "Here's your drink", she said, handing it to him with a smug smile on her face. "I hope you enjoy it." He laughed quietly. "I'm sure I will. You have a good day", he said, raising his cup to her and then walking out.
Elijah waited until he was back inside his car to read it. Bean thinking about you a latte and you are mocha me crazy! He burst out laughing, and couldn't stop smiling to himself the whole car ride long.
-
Over the next few days, Elijah bought several drinks in exchange for more gems like You are just the way I like my coffee. Tall, dark and strong, and Careful, hot coffee! Oh wait, nevermind, not as hot as you. It became something that both of them looked forward to, until he stopped showing up. It been a week since she had seen him last, and every morning she would search through the crowd for him, to no avail.
"Hey," Cami said, sidling up to Y/N, trying to avoid Tristan's line of sight, "haven't seen your hot rich guy for a minute. What gives?" Y/N rolled her eyes dramatically. "First of all, his name is Elijah, and secondly, he is not my hot rich guy so I have no idea where he is." Just then, she thought she caught a glimpse of his car rolling up outside, and suddenly, there he was, as godly as ever. "Speak of the devil", Cami whispered teasingly. "Shut up", Y/N mouthed.
He made his way over to her in just a few strides. "Hey!" she exclaimed, genuinely pleased to see him. "Haven't seen you around in a while." He looked just as happy to see her. "I had to go back home for some time. Family drama", he explained. "I get that", she replied, "so what can I get ya?"
"The usual, please", he said, grinning, giving her the money. "Coming right up!" she said, about to turn away. "Oh, wait", he said. "I brought my own cup, if that's alright." He handed over a matte black reusable cup. "That's great", she said, taking it. "I'll have your drink ready in a minute."
Damn, even his coffee cup is fancy, she thought, turning it over in her hands to see his initials engraved on the side – E.M. She took off the lid, and to her surprise, found a folded up piece of paper inside. She took it out and unfolded it – it was a handwritten note, in penmanship just as immaculate as his suits. She read it discreetly so that no one could see.
Y/N,
The entire week that I was with my family, I found myself unable to stop thinking about you and your ghastly pick up lines. If you wouldn't mind, I would love to take you out someday. So... java number I can call you on?
Fondly, Elijah.
She blushed furiously and stuffed the note inside her pocket. As she waited for the machine to pour out his drink, she thought of what to write back. Of course she would love to go out with him, but she needed to think of something witty to say. Grabbing a tissue, she carefully wrote her reply on it, and placed it under his cup. He watched her walk towards him with a strange smile on his face.
"Here you go", she said quietly, brushing his hand accidentally-on-purpose as she handed him the cup. His skin was warm and rough. "Thank you", he replied, as he spotted what looked like a phone number on the tissue. He took a quick look at it.
Elijah,
I knew there was something brewing between the two of us. Yes, I'd love to go out with you. Call me :)
Y/N
He laughed softly to himself. She looked at him expectantly, wondering if he might say anything. "So I guess I'll see you soon, then", he said, eyes twinkling. "I guess you will", she replied, smiling back at him. Unexpectedly, he shot a sly wink at her, and she felt the blood rush back to her cheeks as he walked out the door.
-
As Y/N got back to her tiny studio apartment that night after work and class, she heard the muffled sound of her ringtone. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she saw an unknown number flashing on her screen. She answered it. "Hello?"
"Hello", she heard the familiar deep voice say. "This is Elijah." She chuckled, "I know it's you. Are you calling to say you miss my puns already?" It was his turn to laugh now. "As a matter of fact, I do miss them. So, I was wondering if I could hear some more this Friday over dinner." She shifted her weight from side to side, playing with an errant lock of hair. She had half-expected him to not call at all. "Um, yeah, yes. Friday is good, it's great." God, why am I so awkward, she thought, smacking the side of her head.
He wished she could see the smile on his face. "Great. I'll text you the details soon", he said. "Cool", she said, trying to hide the excitement in her voice. "Um, I should go. Gotta get up early tomorrow."
"Of course. I look forward to seeing you soon. Goodnight, Y/N", he said. "Goodnight", she said as she flopped onto her bed, an irrepressible grin on her face. She already knew she wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight.

Eleventh Day of Twelve - A Tired but Treasured Day
A/N - Look at that! We are second from the end! Thank you to all the comments and love! Really appreciate it, it's been a long week!
. . . .
Read previous drabbles below.
Tumblr media
. . . .
You walked into the office clinging to your cup of coffee. It felt like you were just here and you were, only five hours ago. This time however it was your own doing. You'd found a tiny shred of evidence to go on and had to follow it before the trail went cold. Then it lead to Gibbs and Nick finding the killer in a warehouse in town and bringing him in at just after 0100. You didn't finish interrogating until 0200 and it was now 0730. Coffee, coffee needed to be pumped into you to wake up this morning and a constant flow throughout the day would be required.
To your delight there was a hot cup sitting on your desk as you walked into the bullpen. No note so you assumed this time it wasn't from your gift giver. Day 11 and no one had spilled the beans or gone looking at the cameras like they wanted to on day one.
"Gibbs dropped it off about five minutes ago before he went down to get a report from Kasie who wasn't pleased to be called in so early." Ellie explained while leaning back in her chair and sipping her coffee. "He brought one for all of us."
"Christmas miracles do happen." Nick grinned, dropping his small cup in the trash. "Done."
"It's not a race. You just slugged all your energy for the next three hours."
"Oh please, I've stayed up later and come to work more tired before. Remember the November incident." He waved off.
"I still feel hungover from it." Ellie grumbled, scrunching her nose at the memory of Tequila.
"Please don't remind me." Tim groaned. "Plus I'm not allowed anymore Tequila, Delilah's orders."
"She may be on to something." You ran your hand through your hair, smirking at the banter. Turning on your computer for the day, you saw the next gift hanging from your desk lamp. It was beautiful, a little teddy bear carved out of marble with a shimmering purple and green crown sitting on its head.
"Day 11, the gift giver strikes again." You rolled your eyes at Nick's words while holding the Christmas decoration in your hand, running your thumb over the intricate detail.
It was sweet, a cute addition to your small Christmas tree at home. You'd put it up on December one. That was your tradition and some years it didn't seem worth it but you made the effort. Being alone on Christmas sucked, there was no way around it but this year you were making an effort to not sulk about it. The secret gift giver certainly lifted the spirit as well.
Your tree wasn't over the top but a nice addition to your home. This would fit perfectly front and centre and you made sure of it.
The day was relatively easy. The office banter keeping the spirits going with a good supply of caffeine. It was really just a lot of paper work and then you were set free around mid afternoon to try and have that weekend off. This time Vance made sure the team wouldn't be called in. There were other agents to take the call after all.
You'd missed Jack most of the day and didn't want to interrupt her as she was head deep in evals for the end of year. Instead you decided to shoot her a text when you got home.
- Just wanted to say have a good weekend. Didn't want to interrupt your head mojo.
You knew she'd get a kick out of it and you weren't mistaken.
- Head mojo hey? Smarty in the evening just like you said. Missed you today, didn't realise how many evals I still had to do before I went on my trip. Now I'm back logged and still at work.
It was just hitting 1830 which was a late one for Jack on a Friday. She was always hurrying along at the end of the week to make sure by the time 1700 hit she was out the door.
- I hope you are either finishing for the evening or planning on having dinner while you work. It's getting late, Jack.
- No need to worry about little old me. I need to get these done, I'll grab a bite later. Enjoy your night.
An idea popped to mind, you grabbed your coat and car keys and headed back out into the snowfall with your blue scarf still wrapped around your neck.
Thankfully, you weren't too far from the Navy yard and the Diner was just a five minute detour on the route. You called ahead so the food was ready when you got there and still warm when you knocked on her door.
"Come in, y/n."
You huffed, opening the door. "Now how could you possibly know it was me?"
Jack was sitting on her couch, shoes off, legs crossed and glasses tugging her hair back and sitting on her head. "You didn't reply, you always reply. And you care too much." She got up, placing her laptop on the coffee table and walking up to you.
Those were a lot of compliments you weren't entirely prepared for. You thought Jack was the one that cared a lot, but never too much. "I think I care just the right amount but I can eat this all by myself if you'd prefer?" You smirked, pretending to walk back out but Jack caught your arm.
"I didn't mean it like that. I lo-ike that you care so much." She ran her hand up and down your arm a few times before dropping it away. Her warm comforting smile turned into a cute frown. "And don't you dare walk out on me now that youve made all this effort to come here." She took a deep breath in. "Is that two cheeseburgers and fries?"
The frown and the way her nose twitched at the smell was completely adorable. "With a side of gravy. Wasn't sure if you liked it on your fries or not." You shrugged, missing the soft and loving look Jack gave, you walked past her and sat at one end of the couch, unpacking the bag of food. "Come, sit." You urged, patting the spot beside you as she just stood there and watched.
With a soft smile curving her lips, she came around after a beat and sat exactly where you said to. She took the small pot of gravy and poured it over her fries before pouring the rest over yours. "Thank you."
You bumped her shoulder lightly. "Anytime. Can't have Jack Sloane Hangry and loose in DC." That got you a slap on the knee but it was worth it as her hand soothed the spot she hit and stayed there for a while until it was time to eat.
"Didn't mean to ruin your Friday night plans either." She took a huge bite of the burger.
Between bites you managed an answer, "You mean my big watching The Holiday movie while eating a cup of noodles or the one where I go to sleep at 7pm because im living on about four hours sleep right now."
Skipping over how tired you were she jumped at the mention of the movie. "That's my favourite Christmas movie! It's got the best of both worlds! The sun of LA and the cold winter wonderland of the UK. God, I haven't watched that in years! My mum and I went to the movies to watch it and then every Christmas after we'd watch it together, some people had Love Actually, we had The Holiday. Guess I stopped watching when mum passed." She ate a few more fries. "Wow, Jack, way to ruin the good mood. Sorry. Got lost for a moment there."
You liked it when she rambled. She always would say so many interesting things and you just loved to hear her voice. You prayed the day never came when you wouldn't hear it anymore. "Don't apologize-" You held up your hand to stop her from butting in. "- And, no it's not because of Gibbs silly rule. I enjoy hearing about your past about things you love or did. The Holiday is a sweet movie, my must watch in December along with The Grinch, Home Alone and many more. I try my best to keep the holiday spirits up when I'm by myself for them which has been the last many."
"I enjoy hearing you talk too." She smiled, taking a massive bite of her burger and filling up her cheeks.
There was no silence after that. The evals were put to the side and you talked for what seemed like hours. Talking about childhood Christmas' and silly stories to cringe worthy dating moments over this time of year. It wasn't until you couldn't keep your mouth shut from yawning that you said good night around 2300.
"Sorry you didn't get your evals done." You sing over the roof of your car as Jack unlocked her Mini.
"Don't be. I'm happy to come in tomorrow because tonight was fun!" Her genuine smile told you that she wasn't lying. You could read people pretty well and most times Jack Sloane was an enigma to you but right now you knew she was telling the truth.
"Good night, Jack."
She opened her car door before adding. "Enjoy your movie!"
You yawned with a laugh. "You're kidding right? I'm going to sleep, I'll watch it tomorrow now."
"Fair, good night y/n. Sweet Dreams!"
. . . .
Who doesn't want this to end? Me. But I also maybe, slightly want a break from writing every day. It's been fun but tiring. I've enjoyed it a lot though! I love this time of year, if only I wasn't working in retail.

The New Girl, Part 1
Tumblr media
I'm going to hijack something else from you today, @m-faithfull. 😁 I saw you post this pic a little while back, and I was itching to write for it. Here you go, a leonine Robert going in for the kill. 😬 Just felt like making him a little more forward this time around.
Thanks to @starchild0985 for the argument idea a while ago, and thanks to @firethatgrewsolow for the sanity check on the emotional stuff. ❤️❤️❤️
Not smut yet, but there are "adult undertones." 😎
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You round the corner with the food cart and hear them before you see them: the blaring radio and the boisterous, British-accented speech. And then there's a fearsome, metallic crash--a large, glass something, likely hurled into trash can.
You park across from the doorway, look into the room, and take a deep breath. It's your first night on the job, your first time serving a bunch of rock stars and their entourage. You've heard the stories and know that anything is possible in the green room: arguments, fist fights, food fights, hasty sex, even musicians too drunk or high to perform. But it's not just anxiety about the possible mood in the room that gives you pause. You are a huge Led Zeppelin fan, and you are as ashamed about your pink polyester work dress as you are excited to meet the young legends. You've daydreamed about meeting Robert, in particular, but certainly never under these circumstances.
You're glad to have had time to pull your copy of Led Zeppelin IV out of your locker while no one was looking and stash it on the bottom shelf of the cart, hidden behind the long, white tablecloth. An autographed vinyl would be a happy memory of the night, even if everything else went crazy.
Bonzo starts talking, and you realize things are not as jovial as you'd hoped.
"All I'm saying, Perce, is less talk between songs!" Bonzo's voice is colored with exasperation. "We both know damn well that you're just scanning the crowd to skim the finest birds off the top for yourself, innit?"
You're not sure if you should make your way into the room or stay out of the fray for a while. Since no one has noticed you yet, you decide to watch what happens next.
"How do you mean, Bonzo?" Robert's voice has all of the charm you'd expect to hear, but you don't know if his soothing tone will be enough to defuse the situation.
"All I'm doing," Robert continues, "is showing love and gratitude to the audience and setting the scene for you lot to release the sturm und drang, as it were."
"Fucking hell, Robert. Admit it, that's not the release you're most worried about! The crowds are bigger than in Birmingham, but you haven't changed your horny bastard ways one bit, matey…"
"It seems the song does indeed remain the same," Jimmy muses with a chuckle.
"I'm just surprised he ain't have a knee trembler onstage yet. G, Pagey, you're really lucky he didn't hump a pillar when you came to check him out back then. That's the sort of bollocks that I don't miss from this one." He frowns and takes a huge sip of his beer.
It seems this story is new to Jimmy and G, the imposing man you understand to be the manager. Both men exchange glances and shake their heads.
"Fuck it all!" Robert uncrosses his arms and picks up a cigarette package and lighter from the table. "Don't believe me, then." He turns his back on his critics and lights a cigarette.
You get a glimpse of his pout and his elegant fingers, marveling at how cute he looks when he's upset. Somehow this vision has neutralized any red flags raised by Bonzo's stories. You don't know why you can excuse Robert for things that would make you cold to anyone else. You are a little wary, but you know any objections you have left could be swept away with something as light as his sinful whisper in your ear, the brush of his lips against your neck, and the feathery touch of his fingers on your bud.
You are in danger of slipping deep into fantasy and decide to enter the room now to save yourself. Part of you wants to get your work over with, get your autographs, stargaze at the band and leave, but part of you wants to offer whatever comfort you can to the grumpy Robert before your eyes--just about anything he'd ask for.
Everyone else has moved on in a few different conversations. This ends up being a lucky occurrence for Robert, who is still sulking alone and notices you first.
He drops the hand with the cigarette by his side while he familiarizes himself with you. Then he lets loose with a dazzling smile.
G, the rest of the band, and the others in the room focus on you a beat later, while Robert quickly stubs out his cigarette in an ashtray. "And food saves the day. Your timing is impeccable, darlin'. Allow me to be your knight in denim and help you with that cart." He sidles up to you and rests one hand on your shoulder and the other on top of your hand. He winks at you, and you step aside so he can move the cart.
You drink in the sparkly, mostly open button-down that is hanging off of his broad shoulders, thankful that it ends just above the bulge in his jeans that won't be denied, so you can sneak a peek.
He is every bit as flirtatious as you've gleaned from the radio interviews. You get the impression that he doesn't mind the uniform you're wearing, that he's looking way past it in his mind, that he'd still flirt with you if you were wearing a potato sack. It is both a relief and something that leaves your stomach jittery.
"Our wonderful caterer…" he stares for a long time at the general region of your name tag, licks his lips, and relays your name with a wicked grin, "has brought the real food. Orange juice for Jimmy? And sandwiches and crisps for the rest of us. No need to gorge on three-day-old bananas anymore… Although there's one aged almost 25 years that's highly recommended, if you're into that sort of thing…" Robert murmurs the last part for your ears only.
You blush and are stunned by his boldness, but you get your bearings quickly, realizing things will be as out of control as you anticipated. You can't deny that you would love to spend some time alone with Robert, and you're ready to see what other bold moves he has in store.
You steady yourself to throw some of your own boldness his way. "Well, they are good for you--delicious and incredibly filling… And I do like them ripe, personally, so…" You reply just as softly and gaze into his eyes.
Inside of the stare, the two of you are zapped by a mutual, high-voltage flash of interest. Your heart races, and your body throbs.
"Prime example, this is!" Bonzo interjects from the couch. "Percy Plant plucking another flower for himself!"
"Not now, Bonzo," Robert mutters, still looking into your eyes.
You blink rapidly, realizing all eyes are on you. "Sorry… It's my first night here… I-- I've got to set these things out," you stammer to Robert. You want him, but to have things so very obviously play out in front of so many people… A curtain of shame weighs heavy on the lust that has engulfed your body.
Before you can pick up the tray of sandwiches, Robert steps in. "Allow me, love." He notices your conflicting emotions and removes all of the food from the cart for you. You're glad for his help because you feel lightheaded. The last thing you need to do is drop a tray of food on your first night and draw the ire of the rambunctious group.
"What's this, then?" Robert has peeked under the tablecloth and has found your record. "Fancy some autographs from us heathens?" He holds up the album for everyone to see.
"One of my favorites. I must commend your good taste." Jimmy's tip of his glass to you and his friendly words lighten your tension. Your thank-you to him is for his compliment as much as it is for the lifeline to normalcy that he has thrown.
Robert places a hand on your shoulder. "You know what? I'll let the rest of the lads sign first. You look like you could use some help getting this cart back where it belongs, yeah?"
You get the sense that Robert genuinely wants to blot out your embarrassment, but you know that he has other, wolfish desires alongside his altruism. You're okay with that, and you don't question why.
"That would be great." A weak smile grows stronger on your face as you think of how exciting a stolen moment with Robert will be.
"Yes, allow me to drive this for you then?" He begins to push the cart to the door.
"Thirty minutes until showtime, Robert," G calls out, knowing he won't return right away.
Robert doesn't respond to G but does motion for you to join him in the hall. You tell him which way to turn. You're back to bursting with excitement again as you leave the room in the distance.
