my tagging systems (??)

Ok I felt as if I should explain how I tag my posts here and how I'll tag them from now on.

For trigger warnings, I simply tag #tw [trigger] and sometimes #[trigger] and/or #[trigger] tw. For example: #tw slur, #slur, #slur tw

For fandom posts, when reblogging, I simply tag the acronyms (EXAMPLE: for Sonic The Hedgehog I tag #STH), there may be exceptions then and there (for Jackson's diary for example, I just tag #jacksons diary, and #jd). I tag all webcomics with #webtoon, even if they're not from or on webtoon,

Anything related to neurodivegence is tagged as #nd.

Any post I make related to music, is tagged with #music.

For Sonic, I'll just tag the characters by their single names (like for knuckles the echidna I'll just tag #knuckles). For any duos (platonic, familial, romantic, doesn't matter), I'll tag "Character A & Character B "(example: #sonic & shadow), character a will be the character that was released before character b. sometimes I might tag character a & character b & character c. For teams I'll try and tag them too with "team [__]". EXAMPLE: #team chaotix. For ships in a specific romantic context, I'll tag "character a x character b" (example: #espio x silver), the same rules apply for the other duo tag system. If the characters in question came out at the same time, I'll tag either with both "character a &/x character b" and "character b &/x character a", or whoever's name comes first in alphabetical order, I'll put them first. (Example: #shadow & maria AND #maria & shadow, OR ONLY #maria & shadow) . This is all very new though so I'll have to go back and edit quite a few tags

general tags I use are #ehlp (for posts that invoke a sense of laughter in me), #mecoded (for posts I can relate to), #others art (by art it can be any form of artistic expression, it'll mostly be digital drawings though), #my art and #toki drawz (Ii haven't implemented the latter tag to all my art posts as of yet, though ), #toki rambles (I often forget to tag that though), #gay screenshot collection (for "evidence" of fictional homosexuality or general queerness, doesn't even have to be in screenshots), #asks (might make a new ask tag in the future ..? Y'know. A cooler one??), #writing advice & #drawing advice (self-explanatory), #intro post for anything related to introducing myself, and probably more I forgot.

Any of my posts that made it to be absolute top are tagged as #my top posts .

#into the rosyverse, #tmf religious lore, #freakblr color/colour war, #🐀🥚 or just general #freakblr (it's chaotic as it is and I love it) are all full of incoherent shit related to freakblr I love.

#ultra chaos knuckles is a tag for a super form I made up that is created by the use of the master emerald OR uncontrolled chaos emeralds/chaos energy (haven't decided yet). I don't think knuckles would like to use this form at all but I already explained all of that in that tag.

#ghost!Sunny AU is full of incoherent rambles about an OMORI au similiar to OMARI, but the focus is still on SUNNY and how he experiences his perspective of the story. (I intentionally made the description vague cuz I don't want to reveal any spoilers)

#carla and silvia involves occasional posts about my OCS, Carla and Silvia that I barely every talked about on the internet, but trust me there's so much to say about them.

Well well welly well well....

Let's talk about the art I made for the finale and the last couple character designs revealed, shall we?

It was an all-hands-on-deck situation, and I was able to contribute to one of the final scenes. I hadn't gotten to draw Maria yet this volume, and so that's what I request for this final assignment.

After my last scene with Adam, I had foolishly believed I wouldn't have to draw the Atlas rifles again. Nope! xD I also kinda uh, just put whatever for the mermaid grimm, and wasn't super clear that they had a specific look, so i just sorta drew generally aquatic monsters, but it works out anyways and nobody called me out on it wwwww

The mech was also a bit of a pickle! Had to ask other sketchies for ref images, and I think the design of the mech was still in flux right up to the very last possible second. Still though, skyscraper-sized robots are always fun.

Maria was such a treat to draw, I love how she's simultaneously full of wisdom and also continuously very confused on how qrow and ruby are related.

We in this house don't believe in "cheating" in art, but we do believe in taking shortcuts. Plus it turned out bretty coo.

Got some help with this! perspective is a weak point for me, but felly sketchy Jayjaybase was able to procure a better ref image for me than what I was finding off of google, and it helped a lot for the overall look of the thing.

This was another fun shot to do. Yang waving with her stump is probably my favorite part lol.

Qrow's the kind of character where I always fret if I'll be able to draw him and his tricky hair right, but one way or another he always seems to turn out okay.

It was surprisingly tricky for me to find a good reference image for Qrow's running legs here, luckily posemaniacs came in to save the day.

This was a fun sequence to do, i always like imagining what a person looks like mid-transformation into whatever animal they turn into, the way their body and features must contort. I wonder if I'll get to do more stuff like that in the future?

Lowkey hilarious that Maria didn't have the slightest inkling that Qrow could turn into a bird until this very moment, and her reaction is just "neat!" Perfect note to end that scene on imo lmao

Now on to the last two character designs of the volume!

First up, worst girl, Cinder! There was quite a bit of debate on how to handle Cinder, especially since I personally actually quite liked her canon Atlas outfit, and didn't want to deviate too strongly from it. Overall though, it was decided that she should keep more of her red motif and a lot of the more classy elements from her previous designs. A soft gradient on her cloak helps tie in the colors from her feathers and keeps her legs from disappearing into the cloak. She feels a lot more like a mage here, with us wanting to lean more into her maiden status. As a rule I'm not fond of Cinder, but when you're doing character design, you kinda gotta find a way to sympathize and get in the character's head to find the roots of their personality to design from, and I like to think I was able to find an approachable middle ground with her.

Malachite's new outfit! For realsies this time and not just a cobbling together of her old outfit with her sister's!

Originally back when Malachite reappears and fights with Cinder, she was meant to appear in the casual!outfit shown in this sheet, her hair already cut to its new length. However, for various reasons, the artists for that scene ended up using her vol.5 cobbled design, and the casual!outfit was never used. A shame, I'm so fond of clothes that defy gravitate and look like they're about to fall off xD

But nonetheless! Malachite's Atlas outfit was largely inspired by a particularly eclectic gothic/punk lolita dress that was shared in the server from online, which got some tweaks and adjustments for dressing malachite in. We're dialing up the intensity of Mal's mental schisms here, two brains existing in one person and generally getting along, yet clashing even so. Gave her more simplified hand weapons, as well as increasing the size of her ankle blades to better match the size of her hand-blades. The main idea behind her was for her to be a blender in a cocktail dress lol. Very excited for her to do more stuff in the future of FRWBY!

Infodumping about my ghost au because I can

I'll start off with inspo for it

— Inspo ::

— characters ::

[ main : ] Gordon : a decently "regular" man who grew up with his mother in Seattle, he shares custody with joshua.

[ 2nd main : ] benrey : a decently annoying ghost who just haunts the house he died in, he usually chases away the people who buys the house he haunts, but no matter how much he tried Gordon refuses to go.

[ semi-background : ] Tommy coolatta : one of Gordon's neighbors and one of few co-workers, he lives with his 'dad' and dog, Sunkist!, Seems to have a crush on darnold, maybe?

[ semi-background : ] g-man / Garry man coolatta / "grandpa-man" (gave from joshua) :

A somewhat "mysterious" guy who lives with his son and sons dog Sunkist.

[ semi-background : ] bubby / "bub" (gave from joshua.)

One of Gordon's co-workers, and proclaimed grandpa (by Joshua), he's married to harold P. Coomer.

[ semi-background : ] Harold P. Coomer / Dr. Coomer / "Ganpy coomer" (from Joshua)

One of Gordons co-workers, he babysits for Gordon sometimes, and also a proclaimed grandpa from Joshua, sometimes dabs in "ghost hunting" things as a hobby from time to time!

[ semi-background : ] Joshua / "baby-man" (from benrey)

Gordon's kid, who absolutely loves cowboys, he's usually with his other parent (Maria), and visits his dad on weekends, and for extra info he's non-verbal and is autistic!

[ semi background : ] darnold pepper / "uncle pepper" (from joshua)

Tommy had introduced Gordon to darnold, they hang out occasionally, but usually just for tommy, hes very passionate about his potions, and seems to have some sort of crush on Tommy. Or something-?

[ background : ] Maria M. Smith.

Maria, a woman who grew up in Seattle, was collage-sweet hearts with Gordon but divorced him later on, they ended in good terms though, she also wouldn't give Joshua for the world.

— story ::

Gordon buys a very cheap house, though it was nice for it's price (gonna need a few repairs though.), He settles in, most of his stuff unboxed and put where it was supposed to go.

A week later and he notices that alot things are weird, doors opening by themselves, things getting knocked off, weirdly cold sometimes, and the sound of someone playing his PS4 at night.

He always plays this off, ghosts aren't real, they cant be, right?

Well, aparentally, they can be..!

Ships : peplatta(?), boomer, and maybe frenrey(?) but probably not.

This au is definitely not finished like at all.

Will I write for it?? Maybe, designs may come, i don't feel like drawing today though.

What’s the cast’s official physical appearance? I want to draw fanart so bad~

**New Height Reference Chart with human measurements**

First of all, I'm absolutely flattered you want to make fanart <3

Second, if it's not stated outright in the story, most of the cast's appearance is up for personal interpretation! I don't have a reference for every character, but I'll try and do a quick sum-up of how I personally perceive the characters (but again, if you have your own headcanon? That's fine too!)

I’ve linked some Picrews, (and fanart for Danny and Nathan and Sam because it’s much better than any picrew I could ever find, lol - plus my own art for Christopher) but they are NOT official physical descriptions, more like...pointing in the direction of what the character might look like. Picrew has its limitations, so they might not have all the right details. I’d LOVE to commission art for all of my characters at some point, tbh. If it’s not described below, you can probably just take creative freedom with the appearances.

Christopher: long black hair to just past his shoulders, usually half-up in a bun. Dark eyes, sharp features, aquiline nose. Olive-toned skin. He’s pretty tall (think like 6′3" ish in human terms), but not very muscular. Kind of a beanpole tbh.

Danny: Red hair, usually worn down. Blue-green eyes, thicker eyebrows. In human terms she’d be about average height (like 5′6-8″), but if we’re talking relative to giants, her normal height is about 4″ (though under the growth serum, she’s more like 11″). She’s generally barefoot and physically, pretty lanky as well.

Nathan: Brown, messy hair, curls just a bit and is pretty short. Brown eyes, soft features, freckles, a little bit of facial hair along his chin. Kind of short (5′7ish), a bit of a heavier build, but he’s actually pretty physically fit, considering he does farm work often.

Sam: They’ve definitely got that slightly curly “more on top” haircut with the sides shaved, dark hair, pale skin. Hazel eyes. Average height, about 5′9″ or so. They’re kind of lanky like Christopher, but they actually work out, and have a good bit of lean muscle, especially in their arms. They have several piercings in each ear - specifically, they wear small black gauges, two helix piercings around the middle/upper edge of their right ear, and a flat piercing in each ear. Their tattoos are up to personal interpretation, they've changed in the fanart a lot which I find fun. But I do like the floral design on their left arm and a snake design around their right arm, along with lots of smaller, random tattoos along their arms and legs. They usually wear a flat-billed cap from their collection. They’re AFAB so they generally bind their chest and dress androgynously (they’re nonbinary but use they/he pronouns).

Sybil: Very tall, even for a giant (think closer to 6′8″ - like, she's definitely able to look down on even someone like Christopher). Strong features, a bit older than the rest of the cast (in human terms, in her 40s/50s). Dark skin, golden eyes, black hair - usually braided and tied up. She wears loose, white linen clothing most of the time. She is definitely very strong, and has a rather imposing physical presence. Sometimes wears golden, half-rim glasses for reading or looking at human-sized details, but not usually.

Cyrus: Very large, portly man, maybe about 5′11″-6′. He’s got a rough sort of face with a short, greyish beard, mostly balding. Probably in his 40s/50s, just like Sybil.

Max: Very pale, almost to an unhealthy degree - messy dirt-brown hair, gray eyes, and rough stubble. Older, in about his late 30s but he looks much older due to...a stressful work environment.

Ryan: Blond hair, in a style kind of similar to Nathan’s - a bit unkempt but otherwise short. Pale, generally has bags under his eyes and somewhat gaunt features - very skinny. Dark greenish eyes. In his early 20s.

Maria: Brown skin, long, curly dark brown hair that’s thick and generally tied back (if possible). Similar to Ryan - very skinny/frail and has a sickly pallor to her skin. Warm, brown eyes. In her late 20s.

Alice: Pale blue eyes and long, light brown hair, generally worn up in a bun and tied back with a headscarf (if possible). Kind, motherly, but slightly worn features - in her early 30s.

Stan: Tanned skin and dark gray hair with bits of white poking through. Has a thick mustache and well-trimmed beard (when possible). Stern features, has a slightly haggard face with a few scars. In his late 30s, but like Max, looks a bit older.

John: Graying hair, long enough to pull back into a short ponytail. Pale skin, kind, green eyes, wears thin-rimmed glasses. About Sybil’s age, maybe closer to his 50s. Generally dresses pretty well, wears a button up shirt, slacks, and loafers most of the time.

Nora: Blonde hair in a chin-length bob with bangs, wears several piercings in each ear. Generally dresses very nice (similar to John). Very pale skin, light blue eyes. Slightly older than Danny, in her late 20s.

That’s honestly about all I’ve got. If you have any specific questions about any characters, I’ll do my best to answer them!
