Hi Hazel! I'm not sure when you plan on starting question of the week, but there are few questions I've always been curious about but for some reason never got around to asking. Hope you don't mind me asking them now :3

Question of the week is still a WIP. I am currently trying to make a visual, but I want some questions prepped and I want a nice tag/title so people that don't want to see it can filter it easily, and that's where I am stuck a little.

I definitely don't mind any questions at any time really. I might get a little wordy again, so let's dive right into it so I can -hopefully- keep this from becoming an entire book again.

I had seen visuals of the game before (being a fan of Yana for Kuroshitsuji) on various social media. A friend had done a lil more research and said it was a game, but as of then, JP only. I think at that time, we both were assuming it was an otome game? When the NA version game out, I didn't know, since I wasn't really following updates anymore + it's not available where I live. Then @silenceofthecookies let me know it was out and she was playing by APK. I did not get it immediately, mostly because I *still* thought it was an otome game, and my interest in those had dwindled a whole lot. Downloaded it 2? weeks after release when I realized it was not an otome and have only missed 2? logins since, although most days I do little more than logging in and one or two rounds of lessons (unless there is an event / new story content). I am a little salty because none of my favorite characters are coming home with pulls ( ╥ω╥ ) Istg, if Fairy Gala Leona won't come home I am quitting the game.

Ehm, when it came to finding favorites, it was a bit of a blurr, having to go solely on *vibes* since I did not interact with the fandom yet. Purely visually speaking I felt mostly drawn to Idia, Leona and Azul right when I started the game? Idia is the one I picked for the first SR, hand in the mirror kinda thing.

When I started interacting with the fandom, and got more sense of the personalities, I liked a lot of characters more, with my current faves being Idia (still), Leona (still), Jamil, Kalim, Rook, Lilia and Jack? But there are no characters I really dislike, I just am more 'meh' about them and won't be pulling for their cards. I am a little salty about Azul cause I don't like his character a lot, but he decided to come home while I was pulling for the scarabia dorm cards. So now I have an SSR Azul dorm, which is arguably a very good and very desired card, but I just want... one of my faves. Just the one QwQ.

If I had known who I was gonna like at the time, I probably would've reset my first 10-pull (with the SSR guarantee) until I got dorm Leona, but at the time, I didn't know who was available, how the story was gonna go and who I was gonna like. So now I have SSR Ace, Azul and last week I finally got my pity pull from the standard showcase, only for it to be Deuce. Like i said, I will drag that dang lion by his tail for the fairy gala, as well as Kalim by his headband and Jamil by his ponytail. (・`ω´・) I am very very determined.

Finally, not that anyone asked for but if I had to choose a top 3 of fave characters, it'd probably be Leona, Jamil, Idia (mostly in that order, but it tends to shift depending on my mood). Irony is that they're all part of the three Disney movies I like most (that are featured in the game so far).

I will be using this to talk about my big 3 (kriselle krusie krisei ) 🔥🔥

first is definitely kriselle since I started seeing it before I actually knew anything about deltarune and I just looked at them and went hmmm.... this fucks!!! their aesthetics and history together is very wonderful. snowgrave is also very good but I have not gotten the chance to play it yet .. fanart definitely made me fall for them so my fave artists for them are pillowbug99 & gooselycharm ^_^

krusie ... 1) their ship name is just very cute lol 2) I LOVE WHEN. THERE IS BIG AND THERE IS SMALL... susie carries kris around like a dog on her shoulders or something LMFAO their banter and in general friendship is very sweet. kris very obviously enjoying to be friends w susie and breaking thru the player's controls just to show that... they're very genuine and it's just a ship that. doesn't need much change you know? thats probably why i dont think about it too much bc there's nothing for me to ponder haha but it's in a way that they simply just Work. they're best friends and they're wonderful

krisei. Acid Tunnel Of Love. need I say more. yes I will continue talking . I love that whole scene and music so much, it's just very.. how do you say this. it's cute, it's bittersweet, it's vague, it's like the unknown, it's like riding through an actual tunnel w a fancy boat in carnivals, and something something.. it's just Perfect for them. the narratives surrounding them make me go FERAL I think. the direct parallels and being a mirror to each other and them using that to reflect and grow as their own people... I've already talked about it in my headband theory ralsei thing but ahh... they're a ship thats just... destined to end. and that in itself is good. they grow up and they no longer need each other like they used to and they part ways but that's fine. not in a way that they start hating each other, they would still be friends if ralsei still existed after deltarune ended, they simply grow out of each other, like a childhood toy you no longer love like you used to but fondly look back on old memories, it ends- like a carnival boat ride of sweet memories and fuzzy feelings finally reaching the end of its round and hopping out. they are literal soulmates in a very literal sense they actually have a string of fate binding them together holy shit

I think they'd have these very confused feelings about each other, and they're so dorky and adorable, It's their first genuine attempt at trying to be romantic and awudhdhjddjfb. that's so fricking cute man. I love a lot of things about krisei but those are the main two. this is like, the last ship i started liking and when I was playing deltarune I was like lol I probably won't like them.... and now they have me in a fucking chokehold.. insanity. anyway I hope this little tangent made everyone who reads it a bit sick ^^<3 bc I am incredibly ill for all of them

A little art explanation time lol: aka my AssClass (re)designs???

This is party inspired by @/nagisushi and Fumiko, who have their own redesigns. Looking at theirs, I suddenly realized I have a few of my own that I never talked about haha.

But yeahhhhh. Let’s start with my baby, my daughter, my absolute comfort character...

Kanzaki:

I think I’ve spoken way too much already about how I characterize her lol. And it’s pretty different than canon but I like to think I’m saving her wasted potential 🥳 /j

Her canon appearance fits in well with her character and how it’s written in canon. She’s a classic good girl, very nice and sweet and polite. Literally Kanzaki doesn’t even have many defined flaws in canon smh.

Anyways, yeah. She has long pin-straight black hair, innocent doe-like chestnut eyes, pale skin, etc. Just supposed to adhere to Japanese beauty standards. Which is fine but...

Here’s a sample drawing of how I make Kanzaki look in my art. Don’t mind the expression haha, I was just practicing for fun.

Some points:

As you can see, I’ve made her hair a lot more voluminous than it is in canon. I think it’s much more fitting and makes sense, since it almost matches her 2nd year hairstyle

It also just?? Looks visually more pleasing?? Tbh. Her hair didn’t have any dimension in either the manga and anime, which I don’t blame. But I personally prefer it looking more similar to her previous 2nd year style

Her eyes aren’t as droopy and innocent-looking because no offense but fuck that. I just dislike Kanzaki acting and looking perfect and sweet, so that annoys me.

In my redesign hehe, I like to toy with different eye expressions. I think generally Kanzaki would act reserved and distant (esp in the beginning) so her eyes would reflect that kind of melancholy.

And afterwards as she grows into her own person, I love the idea of her having more of a ferocity to her gaze. Like she’ll stare down bullies with that look in her eyes all while having a sweet smile.

Overall I really would like to give her more of her 2nd year style. I think that whole aspect and storyline is what makes Kanzaki such a great and relatable character. To remove it in canon and keep her as the sweet popular pretty girl is such a disservice imo.

So when I draw her, I like to put her in some alternative styles and fashion. She’d probably tone it down a lot compared to 2nd year, but she’d still love dressing that way.

Because you know...contrary to popular belief, your interests don’t have to just be phases. They can be meaningful parts of life that you can choose to keep with you for as long as you want.

Video games are very important to Kanzaki. She has a passion for them. She wouldn’t just discard that time of her life where she gave up academics for them and rebelled to try and gain some agency in her life.

Ok I’m done now, I should stop before I get upset lol

Next is my other precious daughter, none other than our adorable resident vocaloid!!

Ritsu:

Tbh I don’t really have issues with Ritsu’s design itself, I just have one that I prefer. And there are some issues that are tied to the way that her character was handled...

Here is a drawing I made of Ritsu! Isn’t she so cute uwu?

Some points:

Canon tends to have a terrible habit of portraying her innocence in a weird borderline creepy way. Which I heavily dislike.

Ritsu being innocent?? Perfectly fine. But I portray it in more of an endearing way. Such as above with her wearing a cat headband lol.

Most of this is inspired by @/nagisushi who made a lovely redesign of Ritsu that I adored at first sight <3

Giving her a darker complexion? There’s no real reason for it other than why not. It looks so pretty, against the pastel tones that she has too.

Her super wavy hair?? I just LOVE that omg. She looks bright and bubbly.

Also notice that I gave her a huge goofy smile. That’s what I mean by innocent in an endearing and appropriate way.

You can’t see it too well in this pic since I gave her a basic outfit, but I’m really into the idea of Ritsu finding her own indivisible style

In contrast to canon, where she seems a bit generic and dresses in those terrible maid outfits hhhhhhhh

This all ties into the overall theme of her story, which is discovering herself and learning about humanity. Which means knowing who she is as a person now, since she’s not being controlled any longer.

(HMMMM both of my fav girls and they share this rather major theme in their story....Zaina are you ok?)

Anyways yeah to wrap this up before I start raging at 3am, let’s all just let Ritsu be a kid. Let her go through a million phases of styles, ranging from emo to VSCO to try and figure out what suits her. Let Koro and 3-E be super supportive in all this.

Let her be her own individual rather than just some plot tool to support the cast when it’s convenient.......

Ritsu being bubbly, charming, and goofy is everything. I love the idea of her being unintentionally wacky and 3-E just goes along with it.

That’s it for now because I realized I don’t have the right doodles/drawings for some of my other faves lmao. But there will be more~

1x11 - Roman Holiday

Happy Christmas Everybody! Or rather I’m trying to delude myself into thinking it’s winter because it’s awfully hot in here. Too bad the episode only lasts like 40 minutes. Anyway here’s the recap.

This one didn’t get as long as the last ones, but I’ll use the keep reading break anyway because it’s a bit more neat for everyone.

Thoughts I had while watching the episode:

The Constance choir, oh how I miss it.

I have a coat really simliar to the one’s Jenny’s wearing, mine’s probably cheaper though.

Global Warming Grinch! what a surprise Dan’s complaining about something yei!

Here comes Vanessa raining on Serena’s parade! Auch. I never really know with her, because she seems nice and sincere and everything, but doesn’t she realize how uncomfortable this is for Serena? She doesn’t acts like Dan’s best friend, she acts like the soul mate or something like that.

I had almost forgotten about Bart Bass, if only. It’s not like Bart knows the actual meaning of the words “I’m in love with you” but I do ser her point on this Lily, ugh. I can’t believe I typed that.

I really like Blair’s outif the perfect mix between school uniform and holiday spirit. Also, I love her, but what with the long face at hearing Chuck is at Monaco? She dump him, so she shouldn’t care.So.. no, Nothing that she needs to know.

It’s sweet the amount of traditions Blair had with her dad, no wonder she wants him to move back to New York

I’ll never understand this show’s obsession with Dan’s cabbage patch doll.

I know shows tape earlier than the season they’re suposed to be, but the park looks so autumm-y for Christmas, is taking me out of the mood. But since I don’t live in New York what do I know.

Blair’s skating outfit thoug, an all time fave.

I had totally forgotten Eleanor had a love interest this episode.

I mean to be fair, that watch is the kind of gift Serena would have made any boyfriend she had because it’s the kind of stuff she’s used to, and I feel for her because she was so excited, I do get where Dan’s coming from, it’s probably the same thing I would said in that situation, but aww Serena.

Again, Vanessa seems nice but, not cool girl.

Blair’s face at Chuck’s text was hilarious, though she shouldn’t be as surprised, Chuck’s pervy on a good day, and she sort of burned him. Not a good combo.

Blair Waldorf in action, sorry Roman.

I’ll never understand why Blair would ask Chuck to don’t speak to anyone about them, like honey letting him know you want to keep that secret, is giving him levarage.

Not a fan of having a scene were Serena is like “i came with my tail between my legs, please Vanessa help me to find Dan a gift” and even worse Vanessa is like “I would gloat, but I like you” that’s sorta gloating anyway, ugh.

Victoria’s Secret themed Christmas party, only on gossip gir.

Rufus and Lily, acting like scaredy cats teenagers.

“Friends doesn’t steal other friends husband” you tell him Eleanor.

This loos “so promising” for Blair, so Nate said he would go to her mom’s Christmas party, except he didn’t and nowshe’s tracking him down because he didn’t bother telling her. Same old story.

Blair spelling it out to Vanessa, and for once I think she wasn’ wrong in what she said. Also I love it when Blair is looking out for her friends.

Honestly I would react exactly as Serena and Eric if my mom dropped on me the bomb that she’s dating Bart Bass. That’s scary.

For once I’m liking Eleanor, also she’s dead right, Blair learned scheming from her mother, unrealistic dreaming from her father. Quite the combo. That’s why I lover.

Gotta love Lilly helping Dan to get that tree inside.

I mean considering I’ve seen the whole show, sorry Howard, but your words sound a bit hollow.

Ok, Serena’s gift for Dan was nice.

Dorota’s themed aprons are such a nice little detail.

Ngl, it mades me sad seeing Bart doing more of an effor with Lilly’s kids and never really bothering with Chuck.

Imagine if Lilly had answered the phone.

That photo of Nate looking like they’re in the Caribbean when they’re supposedly in Monace would never not be hilarious

Normally this is the part where I rant and rant about the episode, but this time I just dont’ have that much to say. I know a lot of people love this episode a lot, but I’m just not one of them, I didn’t fight it particularly memorable on first watch, and now on rewatch even less so, this episode is heavily focused on Derena and the end of the Humphrey marriage, and I don’t really care about either of those things. The only thing I really find interesting about this episode was Harold’s visit,, but on this episode for some reason Blair’s storyline felt like a B plot, that’s probably just me, but l’m finding out that episodes with a lot of Derena feel like such a drag to me now. I almost wish I could care about them again, if only for this season.

So, Blair’s dad. I’ll get it out of the way soon, I’m not a fan. He may have been the loving parent while Blair grew up, but I don’t feel he really knows her, not the way Eleanor does, and I’m not even talking about her dark side, but as Eleanor pointed out, how could he thought she would be glad he had brought over the man he left for when it was supposed to be them enjoying the holiday.

We were told on the Thanksgiving episode that that was suposed to be his first visit after moving to France, and I mentioned there that it sounded like Blair hadn’t seen her father in a long time, which isn’t nice.I feel Harold never really grasped how much he hurt his daughter when he left for France, it was a lot to take for a 16 year old girl who was a total daddy’s girl. First, there’s the separation of her parents, then the fact that her dad is gay, those two were quite a lot, and then he’s like oh I’ll move to France. I’m sure part of the reason Harold stuck in out in his marriage was Blair, and he shouldn’t have to hide who he is and keep married to Eleanor, but I think he could have thought about it and delayed his moving to France. Like Eleanor said this episode Blair might like to act like an adult, but she was at this point still very much a girl in need of her dad.

And this episode he may have said there would always be a place on his life for Blair no mather what, but it was never the same, I mean last episode was Cotillion, and Blair didn’t have any of her parents there, it was probably Dorota the one that was exicted for her, taking pictures and everything. I guess we’re supposed to think she probably talked frequently with her dad over the phone, but I feel in many ways it was mostly a superficial relationship, like I never got the impression Harold went out of his way to see his daughter. But I could be wrong.

The other bit I would like to mention is that not long ago I got an ask about what do I think Blair cared about Chuck not being into town this episode, having watched the episode again now, and I said: i feel she believed it’s always wise to keep and eye of Chuck and be wary of his intentions, gods knows what he’ll plot just for fun, and now they share history, a secret one at that so she has reason to be cautious, considering the message he sends her at the end of the episode she wasn’t wrong. And while I still think it had a lot to do with that, I do feel having her ask him not to spill the beans, wasn’t the smartest choice, I guess she was banking on him not using it as leverage because they’re are friends and because he had let her know at one point he had felt something, it’s what I call wishfull thinking.

On a more subconcious level I think she simply wanted to know because well she’s into him. She likes him. She ends their fling out of anger and it’s part that anger that leds her back to Nate, (and it also trills her that after so long Nate wants her, he’s going after her, not Serena). Of course at this point she’s not about to admit even to herself whatever she feels for Chuck, not only because she’s back on track with her so planned life but because well… he’s Chuck Bass, but that doesn’t mean she’s not atracted to him still.

Random bits I would love to mention

The one shot I’m writing (and hopefully finishing one of these days) is actually set between last episode and this one. Not that it wasn’t hard to guess, but I’m glad I got Nate’s location right.

Funny but like a week ago Buzzfeed shared this bit about the watch Serena gave Dan, turns’s out it costs about $25,000.

“All the grace of Nancy Kerrigan but packing the punch of Tonya Harding” sometimes the Gossip Girl voice is just so on point.

I’ve always loved Chuck’s voice mail “leave a message and I might listen to it”

The kind of headband Blair’s wearing at that Christmas party were sold anywhere last winter here. Guess they came back.

Lily’s golden dress makes me think of Klimt’s paintings. I like that.

Seriously Gossip Girl’s voice overs this episoder are making me laugh so much “sugar, spicy and everythin nice” not so much.

The Palace hotel decoreted for Christmats time!! I love it so much.

You're watching Aladdin with Brendon, after Alice in Wonderland but before Bambi because you don't want to wind up crying yet. He's totally like Flower and Bambi. He chuckles. “Pretty much. Did skateboarding for years, and some soccer, but that was pretty much the extent of the manly shit. Well, the heavy metal too. And lots of people did pot. But mostly the kind of things people thought boys shouldn't do. Most of my friends were girls. Still are. Liked making people laugh, entertaining them. Gymnastics, dance; just messing around not pro. Did sets for the drama kids in high school. I fit in with some guys, mostly chill stoner or art types, guys who weren't straight, but not many. Sometimes I had to fake it to get by with guys, if it even worked. But mostly stuff like the dress up box.”

“What'd you dress up as?”

“Different musical roles, like Maria and Cosette, Jean Valjean. I remember being about five and wrapping curtains around myself like a dress and singing Sound of Music. Cheerleader with the miniskirt and all from my older sister Kara. Uh... pirate, cowboy, or cowgirl. Elvis, Carly Simon, Gwen. Wanted to sound like her so bad. Beyonce. David Bowie in Labyrinth, without a proper wig though. And a few of the personas he had different eras too. Jareth was mixed up in a crush on him. Like I wasn't sure how much I wanted to play that role versus liked David... At twelve, with Jessica Alba, that was a lot clearer. Make up too, some wigs. Lots of my mom's clothes. I'm sure you can tell on that last one.” He still wears women's jeans now. And hoodies, shirts, a couple pairs of sneakers...

“Oh, a weird flower boy version of Rambo,” he laughs. “Like the headband, but my mom's blouse and jeans, a bouquet of flowers, heels, dad's sunglasses... Still have a picture of that one. And we have lots of home movies of stuff. Me being a lounge singer with a feather boa and gold dress... seducing my mom. Oh, shit, can't believe I just admitted that aloud. Anyway, there was firefighter, seamstress, servant, scuba diver, vet... Vampire, fairy, witch. Playing a mom or sister in plays, like sometimes one of my sisters would be the dad, I'd be the mom, or we'd be three sisters. Or they'd be the mom and dad and I'd be their baby. I remember one where I was pregnant—pillow and doll baby, haha—and Kyla was the pirate doctor helping me deliver on the ship. Or the damsel in distress being rescued by them. Or kidnapped by them. Or we had to save our mom, the queen, from a dragon or evil king.”

They were imaginative too! You're picturing them, little Brendon in these outfits, roles. So cute, and silly, and did you say cute? He must've been adorable, playful and an entertainer back then, too. He's done an open mic a few times and sings and plays at parties with friends. You've seen him do it last Saturday, nervous but eager to sing and play guitar, or keyboard. He said that music was his favourite hobby, that he loves doing it, especially for people, but you had no idea how deep it went.

“Me in my sister's gymnastic leotard, but over my shorts because she didn't want it so close to my crotch.”

The crotch part makes you think of it: if he wears... uh, panties too? The thought makes you flush and feel embarrassed. You haven't seen him in a dress or skirt either, but he used to wear those. You wonder if he still does and you just haven't seen it. You think they'd suit him for some reason. The lavender hoodie, the pink sneakers, plus a miniskirt? Denim, or black. God, you bet that he'd look even better, draw you to him more.

“Wish we had dress up stuff to play with here, B. Bet it was fun. And I bet you looked so cute.”

He gets up, but it's to turn on the lamp; the tv had gone dark. He bats his lashes. “Oh, I did.”

You both laugh as you throw a pillow at him. “Goofball. Don't ever let me tell you you still look cute, then. And that I actually would want to see you with a dress up box.”

“Truth or dare?” he asks. You'd forgotten how this started.

“Truth?” Neither is a safe bet, so you just go with what he went with to even it out.

“Would you want to see me dressed up? Like... in things here... of yours?”

Your breath catches. Are you that obvious? You nod, asking “Truth or dare?”

He grins. “Whattaya think, y/n? Dare.”

“M-maybe... uh... a skirt? On you, I mean?”

“That can be arranged.” He practically bounces over to your closet, sorts through, deciding on a long soft blue and lilac hippieish flowery one that goes to your ankles, a purple plaid one that comes to your knees but would be two to three inches shorter on him, and your denim one that's so short it would be a mini on him. You wear it with black tights or other pants it's so short. Really, he picked most of them; you only have two others. He holds them out one by one, then places them over his hips: “Which one would fit me best?”

You get flustered, because you want to see the denim one most, but worry it would be too short for him. The plaid one? It gives “naughty schoolgirl” vibes to boys and men, older pervs included, so you don't wear it much, even though it reminds you of a newly formed coven of witches stuck at a Catholic school for some reason (you blame The Craft). You wonder what'd look like on him. You bet he's worn skirt school uniforms before, and that he'd get cheesy with it, calling you Miss and asking hammily but flirtatiously about extra credit, asking you to teach him, maybe bending over... which not going to lie, you do want if it got sexily funny, but you know it couldn't mean anything.

He grins. "Warning ya, my legs are really hairy, so you might wanna go with the longest one. What can I say, I've got Jewish legs."

You snort. "Guess I've got Jewish legs too: my hair is a light brown, but there's lots of it below my knees. I stopped shaving now that it's November." You can't help wondering if he's dressed up for Hallowe'en in a girl's costume, or in drag, and what he'd look like; even some guys who are kind of sexist and homophobic do that for Hallowe'en, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary even outside of the gay bar you and he were let into a few times, because George knew the bouncer. Both of your first one, bar or gay bar.

"Oh, I bet I've got more than you," he jokes, and slides his pant leg up a bit, doing a "banananana" strip tease music thing, shaking his leg, making you both giggle.

"Go with the shortest one, B. Bet you'd look super sexy," you reply, hammily winking.

"No peeking!" he admonishes teasingly, hiding behind your closet door, but he pops his booty out and sways it before hiding again. His jeans quickly get flung towards you to him laughing, "Hey, you ever see that British film The Full Monty?"

"It's kinda tight on my ass, but loose on my hips. What can I say? I bring the booty. But your hips are more womanly than mine, alas," he sighs dramatically. “And your thighs are damn. Um. At least it covers my underwear. Pretty much.” He peeks out, excited. "Ready? I just wanna make sure you're prepared for my hairy ass legs, oh and my stunningly gorgeous ass."

"Pshaw, I know that that booty brings all the boys to your yard, you tramp." He's really a tease at that bar. Both guys his age and kind of older, but only one creep. He always drinks for free, gets you drinks too, and you alternately keep close and watch from afar and let him do his thing with said boys. He only talks with most, often dances, but if he likes the guy, the dancing goes beyond pg territory, kissing too, and he even went home with one of them.

Have you done anything really interesting lately? Not sure if it counts as interesting, but I paid for a weekend accommodation for the first time last weekend for my family. That was a cool adult thing to do, haha. I don’t even feel bad about the amount I had to pay because the room was *chef’s kiss*

What’s the latest really fun thing you’ve done? I went out of town for the first time since mid-2019 and it felt amazinggg; my family and I went to Tagaytay to celebrate my dad’s 50th birthday. The colder temperature over there was super pleasant and I loved the room we stayed in - we wanted to try something new, so we rented a condo unit for the weekend instead of booking a hotel room; the experience was as good, if not better, than a hotel. Felt homier and we had more freedom when it came to the things we were allowed to do in the unit. It also cemented my desire to have a condo as soon as possible, lol.

Have you discovered any good music lately? Not yet. I have a hard time going out of my comfort zone when it comes to music.

How about any good new television shows? Nothing yet so far, but Reply 1988 has been on my radar for quite some time. It’s just a matter of going to Netflix and clicking on the damn show so I can finally start on it.

Or perhaps some interesting books? Definitely nothing on this front.

Have you picked up a new hobby or learned a new skill? The most recent hobby I picked up was embroidering, but it’s already been a few months since I got into that. The next thing I’d like to try is baking, because I want to have the option to eat macarons anytime I want.

Has anybody ever done your makeup for you? Every time I’ve had makeup on me, it was almost always applied by someone else because I haven’t the slightest idea how to do anything other than winged eyeliner.

What is something you absolutely dislike? Clumsy drivers, like those who drive too slowly on overtaking lanes, or if someone’s blinker is to the right but they’re trying to go left.

Is there a food from your childhood you hate? I had a very narrow palate as a kid and I hated a lot of foods that I now enjoy. One of them was my grandma’s chicken curry recipe, which I didn’t learn to appreciate until I was around 13 or 14. As a kid, I thought the taste was very strange.

What makes you feel nostalgic? Photos from high school, music I listened to while growing up, and revisiting places that my family used to frequent only when I was still a kid, like malls we’ve since stopped going to.

Do you feel like having a beverage? What kind? Nah. I’ve had my coffee fix for today and I had some water before taking this survey.

What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you lately? In our family lunch in a restaurant in Tagaytay, we happened to sit across Larry Gadon, aka a former senatorial candidate (he lost) who is notorious for spreading fake news before, during, and after his campaign, as well as being a rabid Duterte supporter. He and his wife initially had the outdoor section of the restaurant with a nice view all to themselves, so when my mom requested that we eat in the outdoor area as well I saw how annoyed he looked. I met his gaze as we were walking to our table, and I found it hilarious that he stared daggers right at me, and only me, for no good reason. And because I hate his guts, I simply returned the glare. Fuck you, man.

What’s your favorite board game, if you play any? Uh, I don’t really play any.

Do you have a garden? If so, what are you growing? Nope. My mom attempted to start one in our rooftop sometime last year and she succeeded at first; she was able to grow chilies and tomatoes for a time. She wasn’t able to maintain it though, and I believe the plants are all wilted now.

Do you own any sparkly items of clothing? I used to; I don’t think I do anymore.

What’s the most colorful accessory you own and use? Eh, I’m not too keen on the idea of having colorful accessories; I find them too flashy. For jewelry I prefer to wear silver, and for accessories like headbands, bags, etc. I prefer light colors like pastel shades, beige, or off-white.

Have you visited any national parks during the pandemic? It would be great if we had parks to begin with...

Do people throw weird stuff out to the streets where you live? Not that I’ve seen. < Yeah, same.

How do you feel about thunderstorms? Love them. Sometimes they’ll make me sad, but for the most part they put me at ease.

Do you enjoy drag artists’ work? If so, name some of your favorites. I love their work and I really admire their skills, but I don’t particularly follow any drag queen or watch RPDR.

What, right now, is the best thing in your life? The self-love and acceptance I’ve gained over the last month. Idk how I got here but I did, and I’m really proud of myself for it.

What’s a place you like to go to when you need to get away for a bit? Rooftop. Used to be my car, but I’ve since opted for a less toxic option.

Do you like apples? I hate it less than other fruits, I guess, but I generally dislike it.

Have you listened to Erasure? Nope.

Do you enjoy puns? Not really my type of humor.

How about spoonerisms? They’re hilarious when they’re unintentional, like if someone is speaking too quickly and it happens. Happens a lot to Filipinos.

If you were an adventure game character, what would be your sidekick? The main thing I’d be looking for is street smarts because I’ve got none of those.

In fiction, what sorts of characters are you most drawn to? Those with darker, brooding personalities and appear to keep a wall around themselves.

Anything exciting coming up for you in the near future? Eh not really. My 23rd birthday’s coming up but I’ve got no plans for that yet.

Have you ever had a penpal, who you exchange actual letters with? No.

Who is the nicest, sweetest person you know? I have a lot of sweet aunts.

What is a sound you recognize instantly? Wrestling themes, lol. Also the ringtones on my phone, my alarm, my dogs’ barks, and the sound of our family car once either of our parents drive up the carport.

How about a taste or a smell? Truffle, my fave.

Do you still have any toys from your childhood? Sure, I still have all of my board games from when I was a lot younger.

Are you a patient person? In some contexts, yeah. Like if I’m at a restaurant that is obviously busy and all the staff seem to look stressed, I am less likely to complain or follow up on my order.

Hey guys, I'm back again for another fan account and boy was it like the best day of my life. OMG...if you don’t feel like reading all of this, I’m just going to leave some highlights for you and of course I’ll bold the most relevant parts.

So I went to Los Angeles again for the 2nd solo Exo concert The EXOr’dium in America and as expected the show was hyped, exciting and unforgettable. I came into L.A. the day before to buy the 2.0 Exo light stick and some other kpop merch from Music Plaza in Koreatown and finally got my hands on an In and Out burger lol. Anyway the next day I woke up really early around 5am (I was stuck on east coast time) and I looked on my phone to see that Exo had left Mexico in the early morning and were en route on a flight to L.A. So me and my girl Jay (my exo fangirl bestie) decided on a whim that we were going to go to the airport to greet them in. We found out that they would arrive in about 3 hours because we saw in the previews of exo in mexico that they had just left. We went to LAX, we were less than 5 minutes away because our hotel is right next to the airport, and got some breakfast and started searching for the hotspot where Exo would be. So we found it with a couple of other fangirls who had been there all early morning lol So we waited for a couple hours as more fans started to show up and waited anxiously for exo. As we were waiting, A woman and a guy came up to us to interview us lol. They asked if we were exo fans, where we were from and why did we like exo. They asked for me to dance and I told them that I couldn't but i did sing for them lol. (Its so embarrasing when i think about it. Anyway, they asked me who my fave member was, I told them Kai and they told me to say something to Kai because he would be watching it lmfao. I was like Wtf at first because it felt random lol. So I gave him a short message and then we continued to wait for EXO.

Fast forward to a good 20-30 minutes later, Exo comes out, everyone grew really excited so I whipped out my phone to take a video. They were moving real fast so I had to make sure that I caught up to speed because it turned a bit chaotic. So i recorded as they were walking in and then quickly ran side of the start of the line where security was guarding them, trying to keep a safe distance and so I stood there and then D.O shows up first. I say "Hi Do!" He looks at me and doesn't say anything. I was totally fine with that because he looked tired as hell and I know all too well that feeling when you're tired and don't want to talk at all so it's ok. So behind him was Chanyeol so I greet him "HI Chanyeol! Good morning!" He looked right at me and at first I thought he didn't say anything either because he also looked super tired and it was also loud. But when i looked back at my fancam hours later, Chanyeol actually said Hi back to me! Lmfaooo! You can hear his deep voice in the fancam lol. So after Chanyeol was Chen and once again, he looked so tired, like he had just woken up but my bright cheery ass was like "Good Morning Chen Hi!" And he looked at me and bowed. Right behind him was Xiumin and I said the same thing. Xiumin was chill, he was looking down and then when I greeted him, he looked at me and bowed as well. I was going crazy like..omg...these guys are really responding to me. Then behind Xiumin came Kai and Sehun. I saw sehun first (I mean he’s taller than Kai) and called out for him and they were moving quickly. As soon as I realized that Kai had passed me a little I called out for him and greeted him. Kai actually turned around and bowed his head politely. By that time I lost my shit lmfao. I think you can hear that in the fancam.

So they went out the door and I quickly followed however one of the Security guy had a good grip on my arm and was carefully preventing me from doing the unexpected, which I would never.... (Shame me if you must but I was really living in the moment.) I missed Baekhyun because he was hidden between D.O and Chanyeol and Suho was behind everyone that I missed him because he blended in with the other staff passing by -dead-. Anyway. I caught up to them and was able to greet Sehun in which he smiled slightly looking down at the ground. By that time, exo went into their van and left and had all the fangirls abuzz. Some of them were crying and a lot were just so excited.

So after a couple of minutes of exchanging pics and contacts from other fans we walked away to catch the shuttle to our hotel. As soon as we walked away, my friend Jay looked to the right and ....said so casually, "Isn't that Haha?" I looked when she said that and saw that he had heard her and I gasped like a fangirl seeing the unexpected and I go "HAHA!" The guys he was with started to laugh and Haha got up and looked away like he didn't think he was going to be recognized after all the chaos that ensued when EXO had just came through. In my shock I had asked one of Haha's friends of I could take a pic with him and he said yeah. Him and his friends conversed in a joking matter, of course i couldn't understood what was said but I'm guessing that they didn't expect anyone to notice them because Haha looked surprised lol. Anyway, he came over to take a photo and so he grabbed my phone, (my phone was blessed by Haha's hands) and we took 2 pics together after gathering with my friends. After doing that we thanked him and then went back to the hotel. Later on we found out that he posted a pic of us on his instagram and I just couldn’t fathom how crazy my day had turned out lol.

The concert was so hype. Exo started off well but you could tell the tour had taken its toll on them. However through the show, exo gained so much energy once again through the crowd. Everyone was singing loud, drowning out the members live singing at one point, and dancing. Baekhyun complimented us saying that we sang well and asked if it wasn't too hard to follow lol. Anyway Exo sung loud and the vocals were on point. Holy hell the members served some true visuals. Kai once again confirmed that seeing him in person is like 1000 times better than seeing a pic. He is the real deal. Visuals were A1, his stylist did right by him. He gave so much energy with his dance...it was so cool to see him once again just kill it. He is a force. They seemed to have had a good time because at one point Suho was having fun with the crowd that he forgot one part of his line and started singing after realizing his missed his timing lmfao! Near the end, we all sang Happy Birthday to Baekhyun and then he sung happy birthday to himself lmfao. The members played with some of the masks, headbands masks and toys on the stage. I think the highlight was the small toy hands. CHANYEOL and D.o couldn't get enough of them so they were playing around making the crowd and the members laugh and Suho called Chanyeol crazy lmfao. Suho had to make sure they were focused because they kept laughing and playing but it was such a good time that it felt like they could go on and on. They also shouted out Tony Testa who was in the crowd. He was getting ready to leave and then he did a small dance that had EXO hyped up lol. It was fun and cool. Overall the concert was awesome. The whole day was awesome and I have officially deemed that day the best day in my life. Suho announced that they were working on a new album and that they would be back next year with a new album plus a new concert so I can not wait to do it all over again next year!

Hey look it’s the only half-decent photo I took all night, during Jin’s Awake stage. Once again using tumblr like an actual blog, how shocking, bc if I don’t write it down I’ll forget.

I had psyched myself into thinking I was gonna be late and miss the start of this show, haha, but all went well. Shouts to @proteinscollide and @blindmouse for the fun night!

I usually try to have more coherent thoughts and reflections on what a show means or what it represents, on its own or within the genre, but I don't think I have much of that this time. I think maybe I'm just too close to it? Like when you're standing so close that you can't pull back and see the forest for the trees. I haven't actually been to a show where I was Actively Stanning Hardcore for the band in question for a relatively long time. Stanning distorts everything. I can leave meta at the door if I'm just that into it.

Overall I was just - really, really into the songs and the dances and the visuals and everything. They're so talented and charming and hardworking! They dance really good! Their English is darling! If they had done multiple Sydney shows, or at least one other show like in Melbourne, I would DEFINITELY and gladly seen them again! As is I hope they are gonna have a couple of solid days off between now and Japan. And I hope some of those long breaks in the Japan tour are solid rest days...

I liked that the VCRs once again continued the theme of building on the MVs and other visual pieces they've released. It ties into the idea that if you stay on the journey with them (lol and aw at Dylan's "how many roads must a man walk down?" used in some of the onscreen quotes) then the more rewarding the journey will be.

Since this is the end of the trilogy, is this also the end of this round of #The Unified Vision Theory of BTS? Maybe the next phase won't be about the Boy, but about the Man (shades of Britney's Not A Girl Not Yet a Woman haha) and will start again with new imagery. Will be interesting to see.

Some notes and things:

Organisation for this show was somewhat haphazard. Tickets went on sale just 1 month before.* Then the day before the show, it was announced by the promotor IME that there would be no merch on sale, WHAT. Then glowsticks (though not lightsticks, thankfully) were banned. It's possible security issues (given the recency of the Manchester tragedy) and Customs were the causes of this, but also possibly IME is just not very good at organising tours. Just saying.

[* ETA: it has BELATEDLY occurred to me - maybe the reason they waited so long to sell Australian tour tix was bc they were waiting on an invite from the Billboards. If they had scheduled say a Melbourne date a couple days before - that would have nixed the Vegas trip.]

The ban on glowsticks unfortunately nixed one of the Army fanprojects, but BTS-Trans and AusArmy got banners printed for every seat which was great (the same ones they're holding in the official photo) and there were sections of the crowd wearing light-up headbands to form hearts. There was also a big standee outside the venue, which people were signing and leaving messages on. And there were a ton of fanartists at the venue hours beforehand, giving out stickers and fanart and showbags - which is not something I ever encountered in any other pop fandom before kpop. Kpop fans are organised as FUCK, and I respect that. [ETA 2: Oh ok. So it wasn’t as neat as all that. Gosh!]

So we got inside. Even before it started, the crowd was INTO it, as you'd expect, screaming for the MVs from the start and going wild for Blood Sweat & Tears. They kicked off with Not Today and it was lit! I am not gonna go through every song but I do remember the first one at least!

Then some intro ments. Seokjin introduced himself as "worldwide handsome" WHAT A MEME oh my god. Hoseok's intro has indeed changed to "I'm your hope, you're my hope." Sobsob! Jimin saying "make some noise!" and then looking surprised/delighted whenever we did, indeed, make noise, was so cute.

At one point some fans threw some little paper thingies on stage? I was waaaayyyy too far away to see what they were but the band did pick them up and I think Hoseok and Jimin were showering Namjoon with them for a bit while singing the "mani mani mani!" line from BST, and I saw Taehyung pick up a whole handful and very carefully leaf through them. Would love to know what they had printed on them.

Some super quick thoughts on the solos:

Jungkook's Begin was a lot better than I expected? He can dance! He can dance really, really good! Gosh what breaking news haha. But yeah. The song isn't my fave but he was so charismatic and watchable.

Jimin's Lie was amazing. Blindfolds and being lifted up in the air and Jimin just doing his thing. He has such stage presence.

Yoongi's First Love, with a string quartet, and a piano he didn't play - this also isn't my favourite song but I found this visually really striking with the fire effects, and I could listen to Yoongi rap a phone book.

Namjoon's Reflection had such an interesting backdrop - the WHALE? And then the walk up the stairs into the phone booth - relatively little dancing made it seem quite unaffected and somehow, hmm, direct?

V's Stigma - I love that he emerged from the same phone booth. FASCINATING. Not my favourite song on record but like Begin, I was into seeing it live.

Hoseok's Mama - the intriguing VCR with the colours and the butterfly, and then sliding into the familiar opening of Mama, with the backdrop of Hoseok photos from childhood onwards - gosh, my heart. I know I'm a J-Hope stan through and through but REALLY it was so good.

Seokjin's Awake - the string quartet was back and this was just really simple and beautifully staged. I love Awake a lot, Idky because it's not my usual style. But I really like it and I love him.

Hoseok's Boy Meets Evil - I LOVE HIM SO MUCH OMG.

Also really loved Fire, Blood Sweat & Tears, the medley of older songs, CYPHER PART 4 YESSSSSS, Save Me, uhhhhh, I guess I liked everything.

At the ending ment, Jin referenced "worldwide handsome" AGAIN! How dare he! He also DRAMATICALLY REVEALED two heart wristbands and blew so many handkisses and smouldering looks to camera, good lord. Jin is a delight and KNOWS it.

Namjoon and Yoongi saying the crowd was "LEGIT" and repeating it a few times, very darling.

Namjoon saying it was a special show because it was their first after winning the Billboard - SO MANY SCREAMS AND EMOTIONS.

Namjoon doing the old classic "if I didn't live in Korea I'd love to live in Sydney" bless him. Though he says he has some friends and family here which is interesting.

All the ments were super cheesy and amazing. I remember particularly Jungkook saying Australia was far away but we'd always be together in his heart, awww. Namjoon introduced Taehyung as "Mr Alien".

Taehyung and Seokjin blowing kisses and smouldering looks to the camera as they left, bc of they did.

Hoseok seemed really tired or teary towards the end? Idk.

I don’t THINK the crowd was biased towards any one member? I couldn’t tell.

Someone threw an Aussie flag on stage and Jungkook caught it, put it down for a moment, and a security guard whisked it off stage and dropped it on the ground. LOL. (I have seen this characterised on tumblr as "Jungkook showed respect to the Australian flag which is not permitted to be worn as a garment" but ok lol I've seen plenty of Australians including athletes and ordinary people using the flag as a cloak.)

Lots of Asians in the crowd - mostly Asian I would say, similar to the other kpop shows I’ve been to - what a change from my usual shows where I'm part of the 5% non-white people lol. "Ah, so here is where we all are..." (For the nth time I wonder what it would've been like if I'd been into Asian pop when I was a teenager or early 20s when I was deep into my pop phase? Instead of all the really Western stuff I was into, both pop and indie. One reason why I think the Billboard award win, while meaning not a lot in one sense, could mean a lot in another. I never ever saw Asian celebs being covered in the press or treated as legit heartthrobs like that. If I were a kid today... yeah. Little things can matter a lot. It might've meant a lot to me as a teenager, seeing something like that.)

Friday Faves

Hey friends! Happy Friday! What’s going on this weekend? We’re meeting up with some friends for a playdate, swimming with the fam (if it’s not raining!) and doing the usual dance class and weekend activities. The girls are LOVING school (thank goodness!) but it’s going to be nice to take it easy in the mornings instead of rushing around. (And since I actually have to walk P inside, no more school drop-offs in my pajamas haha. The 3 of us have to be dressed and out the door!) I’d love to hear what you’re up to this weekend.

It’s time for the usual Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and always enjoy hearing about your faves, too. Please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section.

Life/random:

I HAVE to tell you guys about the Mermaid Festival we went to last weekend. We met up with some friends for dinner, and since P had graced us with a 4pm nap (meaning she’d be awake until at least 10), I figured we could make a night out of it and head to the mermaid festival. We called nana while we were leaving the restaurant and swooped her to join in the fun.

You guys. It was such a scene in the best way possible. The Mermaid Festival is still pretty new to Tucson – I think it’s their second year – so they’re still working out some of the kinks, but it was insanely fun. We circled around looking for a parking spot and then walked down to Congress for the festivities.

(Please note the sombrero. Oh, Tucson.)

We were surrounded by swarms of kiddos and adults dressed like pirates and mermaids and headed to the enormous pirate ship where they had pageants and contests. There were a ton of food trucks and booths (with wigs, mermaid jewelry, and tops) and a Mermaid parade. The parade was led by mermaids on stilts, dancing to Brazilian drums, and everyone who was dressed up joined the parade.

The girls loved it even though they don’t look too thrilled in the pic below.

(One is mid thumb-suck and the other is people-watching. It was the best people-watching I’ve seen in Tucson in a loooong time.)

It was super fun and we’ll definitely be back next year, in full costumes, natch.

Fitness:

Summer Shape Up is going strong! Our Facebook group is bumping with inspirational posts and you guys are crushing the workouts. It’s not too late to join in the fun! Details are in this post.

Fashion/beauty:

Already scoping out items for fall…especially since 90% of my cool-weather clothes are packed away in storage. (Oops.) I can’t help but feel a little bit of fall on the brain since it’s been cool and lovely here in Tucson for the past couple of weeks. (In the 80s and even the 70s! It’s practically freezing lol.) Here are some of the things I’ve found: new chambray shirt (on sale right now), wrap dress to wear with heels or booties, classic navy sweater, this black jumpsuit as a perfect transition piece (I’ll prob layer it with my camo button-up), the same pair of slip-ons I wore last year until they fell apart.

Headbands for fall.

Food:

This unicorn pancake and egg mold. Our beloved babysitter from Valdosta sent this to the girls and they’re obsessed. It’s really taken my pancake game to the next level. Also, worth noting that I was surprised it works as well as it does! I haven’t had much luck with pancake molds in the past, but this one is awesome.

SKINNY DIPPED ALMONDS. I’m excited to be partnering with them soon because I’m in loooooooove with these almonds. Many chocolate-covered almonds feel like too much of a sugar bomb to me. There’s like 90% chocolate and 10% almond. These are so much more balanced, less sugary-sweet, and they have the best flavors. The peanut butter ones are like Reese’s in a bag (with a boost of healthy fats and protein). They have them at Target if you’ll be out shopping this weekend!

Eat Fit Go. This recently opened in Tucson and they have tons of healthy macro-balanced food options. I’ve been grabbing some lunches and protein balls each week and it’s been a game changer. (It’s also perfect for the nights when the girls just want mac and cheese and broccoli; I can heat up one of these bad boys.)

The only thing I didn’t like was all of the plastic. I called them to see if they’d consider allowing customers to preorder and pay for the what they’d like in advance while providing their own containers. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work because their kitchen is in Phoenix. They assured me that they’re working on sourcing fully biodegradable containers and that the plastic they currently use is 100% recyclable, which made me feel a bit better. The meals are really good and awesome for a quick and healthy bite.
