Rhi. First of all holy shit??? I had to take a deep breath because holy fuck that was just 🥵🥵🥵. I rarely read Mattsun or Makki fics but ugh, I really looked forward to this and holy hell you did not disappoint! Damn. Because you mentioned that this was supposed to be another Seijoh 4 fic, I'd like to consider this as an alternate version of your Manager au and ugh the biggest question! Who did Makki send the pics to? Oikawa and Iwa to tell them what they're missing out? Or to the mystery boyfriend because they finally staked their claim on reader-chan?

Hmmm seeing that the Jackals are the ones in Osaka, I feel like it's any of the four? Omg what if it was Hinata???? But I'll probably feel sad if it was Meian cuz I love him 😭😭😭

sdfghjjhgfhjkl thank you!!!!! i was like ‘okay, you’re not gonna make this about all four of them’ and then my brain ignored all of that entirely and decided just to sprinkle in some hints. i like to think that a lot of things that probably crossed a line happened back in their last year at highschool between all five of them that the reader either rationalises or brushed off, so it is kind of intended as an alternate manager au i guess.

it’s frustrating, but at the end of the day it’s better just to ignore it and keep enjoying the content you want to - that’s not hurting anybody. you’re never going to change their minds and they’re not interested in that - so long as the content is appropriately tagged it shouldn’t be an issue, but i get where the frustration comes into play

and honestly compared to a lot of dark content writers i think i get off pretty lightly with hate, thank god

How I feel about this character

I really like her. I like her relationship with Damian (and how she started out wanting to kill him :P) and how we saw her dealing with what was left to her by her father – in her words, the only thing he left her was the nobody identity.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

no one, just cuz of limited interactions with people her age who she doesn’t consider family.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Maya + Damian kicking everyone’s asses

IDK if I have a ton of unpopular opinions for her, just because i haven’t seen her being talked about enough to know what people consider popular opinions.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I wish she would appear more often -_- She barely ever shows up.

Damian Wayne

How I feel about this character

He’s the best. Possibly temporarily my favorite DC character (usually rotates between him, Cass, and Jaime). He’s very relatable and I like how slow his arc is – he doesn’t turn over a new leaf immediately, and I think that’s very realistic.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

No one, because in the majority of his appearances I like he’s like… 10-11

My non-romantic OTP for this character

My unpopular opinion about this character

i’m not sure. i think lots of my damian opinions are fairly popular (Except among damian haters :P)

I guess i don’t like it when I’m reading fanfic and they infantalize him, like he leaves League of Shadows and is immediately ready to be comforted by the rest of the batfam? It’s like Damian… wouldn’t want to do that. a) it took him a very long time to even admit to himself that the way he was raised was wrong b) he is super insecure in how he appears and puts on a prideful front and anyone being like “Let me help you” would get something like “What makes you think i need ur help!?!?!”

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I guess what I’d really like to have seen is Damian confronting his mother when she’s not a villain ball holder written by grant morrison. like if she was more gray morality (like she initially was in the comics). because he would obviously have issues with her, since she raised him as an assassin, and in teen titans rebirth (well the first 6 issues I read), he said he wished he could just erase his childhood from his mind. We also see Talia might have had a similar childhood to how he did, which obviously doesn’t excuse her actions*, but might make for some interesting dialogue and interactions in the hands of a decent writer.

and damian confronting his past has some really great stories (like Robin: Son of Batman).

*TBH due to her inconsistent writing I have a Lot of opinions about Talia… but that would probably be best left for a separate post. I’m not sure you really can mesh pre-morrison Talia w/ post morrison talia cuz i’m not sure pre-morrison talia would have even raised Damian in the LoS

I generally like him? He only appeared in like 2 issues of comics with any substantial interaction, so it’s hard to have a very strong opinion on him one way or the other

My unpopular opinion about this character

I think the interaction with his father was very flatly written. it’s like they did such a good job fleshing out the al ghul dynamics in the first 6 issues in Robin: Son of Batman and showing how you can be raised in an abusive family but not really think it’s abnormal, and have complicated feelings about it (Damian was obviously really worn down by the year of blood, when he’s out of the LoS he’s able to articulate how bad it was, but in the time he was convinced he was making his family proud and things were normal).

but suren’s dad was like “yeah i was just using u u idiot” and it didn’t really ring true to me. like IDK why didn’t he get a last ditch attempt to get suren to turn on his new friends? Or anything? like i guess they want to show that his dad is obviously a piece of shit and the issue is ending in 10 pages, but his dad was gonna destroy the world! We knew he was a piece of shit! I want to see whatever suren saw the first 10-13 years of his life.

IDK who knows. maybe that was what he saw. but it really contrasted awkwardly with the al ghuls, which is weird considering i think he’s supposed to be a foil for damian.
