Rest in peace double straps.#I adore how we get to keep learning about Jin Ling and peeling back the layers on him...It's also so sad to see him so alone and friendless #especially knowing he really was starting to build peer friendships in the yi city arc...#Jin ling really is one of my top 5 characters in MDZS and its absolutely in part because of how you can *see* how he ended up this way #and we watch him learn and grow! He's doing what most adults refuse to do: Consider that his opinions are skewed and need to change.#You are NOT immune to propaganda and I adore characters who reflect and struggle with that!#Just because someone with assumed authority says something that fits into what you want to be true does not make it true B*/#In this series about rumours and warped perspectives - Jin Ling is a great example of how hard you have to work for the truth #+1 points of friendship with jin ling: He will self correct himself if he says a slur now

Of course, they go totally BALLISTIC when they learn they’re based on the author and her boyfriend.

Every day I wake up and remember that the Disc is populated by a set of fascinating, nuanced and ultimately human* characters. And I smile.

(*NOTE: please insert as appropriate: vampiric, dwarvish, Nobby Nobbs, definitely not a monkey AAAH, etc. etc.)

Each character just feels real!! Like an actual person you could meet!! Even when they’re a background character you’ll never see again. Even if they only show up once.

The disc is so full of life, and that’s so so wonderful.

I was having a conversation with a friend (my poor friends are consistent victims of my discworld propaganda drive) about how much I liked Angua and they were like oh!! Is she your favourite character!? And I had to very awkwardly be like, oh no, actually there are like six other characters that I’m somehow *more* insane about.

And it just got me thinking about how well done every single character is. Even the characters that show up in only one book are just awesome! The villains are brilliant!! And as the series progresses you see such a genuine effort to portray people well.

There are So So many Discworld characters that I love, and that’s such a testament to how talented Terry Pratchett was as a writer.

Just,, man, I love all those little guys so much. I’m so glad this exists.

I heard that shit.' and refused to apologize.#Joke two: the deep cut - Welcome to more propaganda for whatever the hell is going on between Laios & Shuro & Kabru.#Laios trusting Shuro with some *heavy* information because he admires him so much! And wants to be his friend so badly!#Kabru also has another great character moment when he immediatly clocks Laios as not being as malicious as expected.#We love a character who can put the clues together! It is such a good subversion of what role we think Kabru is to play in this story!#Now he's eager to befriend Laios - who is barely interested and currently trying to befriend Shuro - who is barely interested and...well.#The painful triangle of people trying to get to know the other person better and being rejected...Friendship triangle.#We have all had a friendship triangle situation before. I don't and sadly I don't think I will make one. It would be fun to interact with people who enjoys my work and wants to chat with me but I just feel it would be too much work for me to handle a discord server. So at least for now I'm not planning to make one.
