THANK YOU for being able 2 put it into words on that post..... despite s2 having so much of my favorite characters (terry jr and scary) i just... have struggled so hard with caring since the seasons been in full swing and it feels like the world in s2 isnt taken as like... genuinely enough i guess? and season two is very funny and entertaining but thats... all it is. any emotional arcs feel quickly forgotten & almost not at all drawn out and it feels like a mess with how often characters are just straight up forgotten,,, i love dndads and there was such a great setup for season two that i think just. fell flat in execution. even when nicky came back anthony admitted he called him nick Foster because he wasnt thinking at all about it and didnt care, and like. at a certain point even in a d&d setting you have to care about the characters youre making plot relevant at least a little bit, and suddenly the close family arc had nothing to do with season 1 and instead everything to do with stuff that happened completely offscreen (and again, once the dads were charting around with their kids they were often forgotten & added little to any scenes) just. it all got a little careless.

and im not caught up but ive heard about so much junk that happens in the... less than 10 episodes im behind on?? like i JUST got to the titanic part and it ends, what, 9 episodes later ??? i just wish it was more organized and theyd allowed themselves to like. take their time with things. i know the 20 or whatever episodes of glenns arc in s1 is known as 'too long' or super hard to get through but thats also how it made such an impact!! there was ALOT to get through and a lot happened to the close family. yet when alot happens in s2 its like, well that happened, and in an episode and a half it will never be mentioned again . even supporting npcs especially with a lot of potential dont stick around unlike characters like paeden or walter or even erin who got her own wrap up like. i dont remember the last time anyone even mentioned mae hails. yeah theres a degree that its messy and unorganized because thats how teenagers are but theres only so far that goes. and im pretty forgiving in d&d settings because 90% of what actually happens is up to random chance but theres a difference between 'this isnt good because im not actually writing it, and i dont have total control over this story' versus 'this isnt that good because we're not playing it that good'.

I THOUGHT YOU HAD TO BE JOKING ABOUT HOW RECENT THE TITANIC WAS UNTIL I WENT BACK TO CHECK THE EPISODE LIST AND. NO. NO, YOU WEREN'T JOKING. THERE'S ONLY 10 EPISODES AFTER THE TITANIC IN THE WHOLE SEASON. WHAT THE FUCK.

these kids really never had any time to rest, and it's actively hurting the narrative tension to the point that i just want them to be left alone </3

i can't fucking believe that they didn't care enough about nicky's whole deal to not even think about the implications of everything that happened to him. that felt like it should've been a core aspect of his character! and they just didn't care!! about that aspect of his family dynamic!!

i think that, at the end of season 1, the close family and the oak family had dynamics where it was understandable for issues to pop up offscreen. and i do think the underlying threads made sense to a degree! but it was so thoroughly unexplored in both families that it just made even more of a mess and all the characters involved suffered for it.

and i'm gonna be honest. i completely forgot about mae hails. man. man.

they all deserved so much better.

SPOLIER FOR THE WHOLE OF S2 of GO especially the last 30 minutes of it

So let me get this our of the way first: ineffable burocracy was fucking adorable. I would have been absolutely properly enthusiastic for them if it wouldn't have been built up in 10 minutes and so clearly mirroring the Crowley/Aziraphale dynamic its almost textbook. What's the only difference between them you might wonder? What indeed.

But I find it really fucking uncomfortable that knowing most of your target audience you put an uncomfortable one-sided "gay-looking couple's" kiss after a non-confession while the "straight-looking" couple are UNAMBIGUOUSLY romantic. (Yes I know, angels sexless yadda yadda. Beelzebub is they and I love that for them, but fuck you, those are blink and you miss it bits, those facts are only known by people who religiouly read your tweets, not the casual viewer.) My mum and most of the straight, conservative etc audience watching will understand this 100% - they will not get the A/C romance. SO WHY ARE YOU MAKING IT FOR THEM?

This season could have been so much more. It could have explored real starting or ongoing intimacy between A/C softy and romantically and possibly asexually!

This, the present day storyline did none of that. (Sure there was 5 second of dancing for them! Horray! Sound the fucking drums we've solved homophobia! Not the slow romantic pressed together kind of dancing of course) The human lesbians (who were very good coffee shop Au gals I loved them, the only capable ppl in this show and the irony of that was awesome, and i loved that they hinted at something might happening but also explained how Nina just got out of an (abusive) relationship, hmmm interesting somehow the other gay-looking couple cant get a happy ending either but for this at least theres a reasonable explanation of knowing each other for 3 days opposed to ummm 6000...) need to nudge C into a confession that barely happens, it's between the lines. Again, we're you going for heart-wrenching or simply something easily deniable?

The ending is a total cop-out. We are doing the same pattern over and over again, you show Aziraphale sort of having learned his lesson with Job, the other minisodes etc, then he reverts back like nothing happened. It could be a reflection of psychology or human behavior or panicked response or whatever, but let's not pretend it's some grandiose thing. It's cowardice. You had the fucking acting talents of Tennant and Sheen and money and love and support from the fans and this is what you made with it, this lukewarm shite for straight people.

The bigger question is why have I ever let myself hope that ever, in this fucking shit world of ours I'm gonna get a good well-written queer romance featuring two male-looking entities so that I could pretend that things are gonna get more equal eventually. Can I ever be equal, with how the type of love I prefer has to *still* lie in the shadows, be contained in MS's adoring half-glances, talked around about? Dare it's say it's name? Not fucking yet and not by fucking Neil Gaiman it seems.

Congrats on the biggest fucking letdown since Sherlock and since Cas was sent to superhell- but you know, that was at least kinda funny.

Nancy didnt really care. Robin on the other hand was absolutely all over you "finally i have someone who relates to me! We're gonna be best buddies" and you guys did become best buddies

In season 3 when they went into the Russian base under the mall dustin tried to make you stay out of it for your safety but you absolutely refuse. "If your going to be in danger so am i" kinda thing

Erica immediately knew. If you were small enough to fit in the vents with her she'd randomly go "so you and the nerd are a thing am i right? Dont worry i wont tell" and you'd just be confused at how she figured it out (she totally watches the party when theyre out alone💀)

Dustin constantly worrying about you but still being happy that your always next to him when he's in danger.

Your bestfriends with steve. Basically as close as him and dustin

You definitely have a bat with nails in it just like him and your chaotic asf and steve loves it. Thinks your a mini him(minus the no love life) he also gave you his hair secrets(but depending on you. You might like your own hair routine more)

In season 2 when Billy started beating up steve you grabbed a baking sheet and smashed it on the side of Billy's head yelling "ding ding motherfucker!" And Dustin thought it was the scariest yet coolest thing you've ever done

Like what's going on this season?? We're not getting anything from the production and actors? No interviews promoting the season, but what's most baffling is no stories and pics from the cast while filming? Aisha used to post all the time, oliver too (I know he's trying to do no social media thing but I can't imagine that's good for his career and his agents would approve of it for so long. I mean i get Twitter, it's easier for fans to "bother" him, but he could post stories on ig and turn of comments and dms) I miss seeing them have fun on set, and also getting bits and pieces from cast and crew and making headcanons based on them. And the trailers we got were basically nothing, we know theres gonna be blackout and trouble with the zoo animals, that's basically it. It's all very quietttttt

Hi, Nonnie! Oooo good question. I have to admit, I was unaware of just how closely the show is playing everything to the vest for this upcoming season until another Nonnie had pointed it out recently. This will be the first season for me that I'll be watching live so I truly had no idea how open the cast had been and how much they used to post and let us in to see bts and things like that while filming previously (I don't really follow the actors and I know this is a crime but I had no idea Oliver or Kenny existed until binging the show). The only thing I can think is it's either a promotional tactic to go along with the theme of "blackout" (because they know how badly we want content rn so they're hoping it increases the number of viewers tuning in September 20th) or it's because there's something that they don't want people knowing about or guessing at or reading between the lines on yet.

I'm thinking it might be the latter. Though I can't imagine what they would want to keep so close to the vest

that they don't want us to know about just yet

or just what that could be.

And I hope we do see more Oliver soon when he's ready to come back, and I am hoping beyond hope he curates his SM experience (like you mentioned, IG might be a good option for a return as it would allow him to turn comments and DMs off) for himself and what makes him happy and more comfortable. hello people of andy lostnite fandom :o) i have found a very cool post made by @lesbianrobin about st4 predictions ! i wanted to just rebolg with the original but of course now i wanna explain some of my choices ... but thank you for making the tier list i mean it ! this was so much fun :o) read my predictions below 👇

1. definitely not happening

- i do think many of the new characters are going to die, but not any ones that we've gotten a lot of coverage on (save for chrissy and the few jocks). rip prematurely to chrissy and levon hawke man

2. unlikely

- steve is NOT going to die because i think and i hope and i plead that the writers know that his arc is too good to die

- ok i put BOTH ronance besties/enemies in unlikely because i dont think that the plotline will lead to either please hear me here: we know from st3 that theres a general indifference/disregard between the two. basically the arc will teach them that you can be able to accomplish things/build respect with a completely different person that you may have misjudged before. but u know.. just me :o)

3. unlikely but i wish

- currently unclear on the duffers willingness to make more characters gay ...... but yeah they should thats just how its shaping to be why stop it???

- i feel like with all the major stuff thats going on here (plus st's innateness to the 80s) i feel like time travel would be taking on just too much but wouldnt it be cool u know ?

4. likely

- ok i really believe that kali deserves a second chance, not in the sense of a redemption but just a second chance to get a little bit more time so its not super rushed since she basically got only an entire hour to . like . exist rly . not asking for a lot of time but just enough to get some substance :o)

- look im not gonna go super into why dustin might die this season bc its intricate and its probably been said elsewhere but the short of it is that dustin has been major enough to earn himself a lot of love ! but is also not major enough to be a central fixture of the overall trajectory of the show

5. definitely happening

- its no secret that we're getting a lot of hopper content this time around ... hes not a favorite of mine but i would be interested in learning a lil about his backstory i think !

- (we'll be meeting more 'numbers') SERIOUSLY call me insane do it right now but when we get 'ashe' multi season role you'll know .... plus this is pure brain stuff but wouldnt it be so cool to have a shapeshifter character ? why yes i do have an entire arc laid out no this is not the place ❤️

(connor anon post-ep 1/4) i just don't know how to process it. the conversion camp lie really threw me - i think it's a reminder that while connor's desire to do the right thing and fight for the greater good is genuine, it's not been a permanent thing, and he was quite self-interested and narcissistic in season 1a. BUT the conversion camp lie is also a retcon of annalise and connor's talk in 1x12, so ultimately the whole situation is unnecessary.

(post-ep 2/4) i'm so mad about the panic attack fake-out - the writers retconned six seasons of breakdowns and previous panic attacks and depression and suicidality. they don't have enough time now to address it all properly, so easier to just pull something out of their ass to say 'oh he just fabricated it'. unbelievable.

(3/4) i'm not as worried about annalise saying connor married oliver to seem like a good person, she was definitely just getting inside his head. but based on the preview i think we're seeing connor go off to jail and i also think he's going to ask oliver for a divorce to let him 'move on'. i'm also really disappointed that oliver is just letting connor take the fall for everything he's done too, but i don't know what a better option would be.

(4/4) i'm also finding it hard to process because i'm not ok with it ending. i see a lot of myself in connor and he's really become my emotional support fictional character, and knowing that six seasons is all we get and i don't get to keep seeing him on screen really hurts. there's a connor-shaped hole in my heart :(

yeah, im not mad the conversation camp was a lie. like i was more surprised he “did” that in the first place, because he was not the person he is today at the beggining. im just mad because he kept lying about it even now?? like he had a conversation with oliver about it?? i think its a bit ooc for connor not to tell the truth, at least to oliver, abut it. im just gonna take it as he was embarrassed. like, he didnt bring it up himself, so it could be he just didnt know how to deny it, especially after bonnie told him how much it meant to her, and how he was “chosen” for that reason. NOW if he actually got chosen for that, man, that SUCKS. thats bullshit, im gonna be so mad if they actually chose him for that. and since theres not time now for a new storyline, its probably true. that sucks so much :(

god i know. so connor is mentally ill for 6 seasons, but then they decide that, oops, he’s been faking part of it??? fuck them, tbh. uuh

im really, really hoping they give them a happy ending. like, its a gay writer. annalise will die, connor will go to jail, oliver will be miserable??? i dont think so. idk. im really hoping they dont do that. uh, i also read a theory that tegan dies... like, yeah, fuck all your lgbt characters right?? UH

i know :( same. like, ive followed htgawm since day 1, and connor really does mean a lot to me. like, i have identified with my mental illness, he was my coping character while i was in a Very Bad Place, while figuring out my sexuality and coming out. idk. if he doesnt have a happy ending... but i mean, at this point, even if he doesnt end up in jail, whats the point? he’s so fucked up, has been miserable all season 6, has been betrayed by his best friend... idk... can we go back to season 4 when connor was so happy, he even was calling his sister just to tell her how happy he was, and thats never happened before??? please??? i just want that forever :(
