Favorite character: Zoro or Ace! It’s really hard to pick which one is my all time favorite.

Least Favorite character: Tashigi really grinds my gears. She is just so annoying to me. Like, she is always involved in shit she doesn't need to be involved in and she has this audacity like- But for my obvious dislike, I hate Akainu because of what he did to my husband (and he just seems like a jerk)

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Okay so I really like ZoSan and that was one of the first ships I had for the series. I recently started liking LawLu; their dynamic is just really cute and I love the way Law is rapidly aging just by being near him lmao. Usopp and Kaya is very cute and hopefully endgame! Franky and Robin are always great but I've recently come across Robin and Jinbe and honestly I love both so much (I'll just count those two ships as one because Robin literally has infinite hands to hold). And I guess for my last ship: Zoro and Nami. While I don't ship it as much as I used to when I first started watching, I love that Zoro allows himself to be bossed around by her. Something about him being whipped and submissive towards her is so appealing

Character I find most attractive: Ace is without a doubt the most attractive character to me. Like his longer hair, long nose, and muscular build is just ughhhh <3

Character I would marry: Okay, this is hard but Law is probably the guy I would realistically go for. He's super handsome and I love how grumpy and dorky he is. Like yes darling, tell me about your superhero hyperfixation and lift my arm while explaining to me where every muscle and tendon is located.

Character I would be best friends with: Nami, Usopp, and Robin. We have weekly tea spilling sessions and pick out each other's outfits.

a random thought: I really need to get caught up

An unpopular opinion: I feel like the pacing in the anime can be really bad. I remember watching Fishman Island and wanting to pull my hair out. Why did we need a flashback that lasted like three episodes??? I read the manga for one arc and the pacing was MUCH better.

my canon OTP: I don't think there are any ships that are canon that I particularly enjoy (at least not where I am right now)

Non-canon OTP: ZoSan obvs

most badass character: It's really hard to pick just one but the first character that came to mind was Robin. I remember before I first saw her, my ex asked me if I could have a devil fruit, what would its ability be, and I was explaining what was essentially her power haha I think her devil fruit is really cool and allows for some amazing attacks and moments. Also, she's so strong having dealt with everything that has happened to her. She's complex and mysterious but still a kind-hearted character and for that reason I think she's so badass.

pairing I am not a fan of: Tashigi and Zoro. God, I cannot stand that ship and every day I hope and pray it never becomes canon.

character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Sanji. I lament what he used to be so bad. I was rewatching One Piece with someone else and when they first introduced Sanji he actually seemed like he was pulling women. Of course, I love that it was revealed he's actually a pathetic loser boy but I don't like how they handled that aspect of him post-timeskip. Before it was like, "Oh, he's so pathetic, I love him so much" and now it's like "Ugh, he's such a creep, this is not the man I fell in love with"

favourite friendship: Usopp and Nami for sure. I want to be their third bestie so badddd

character I want to adopt or be adopted by: Chopper!!! He's so sweet I want nothing more than to take care of him.

when of if I started shipping it: I really don't remember when exactly I started shipping Zosan? BUT I remember when they started fighting with each other about the dinosaurs they caught for dinner and kinda staring at them like "y'all are having a literal dick measuring contest rn like-" And I think that interaction sort of got the gears turning

my thoughts: I love the "I hate you but not really" dynamic between them. It's obvious they care about each other so much but are both too tough to really say it outright.

What makes me happy about them: Okay I saw this online from another source but their connection to the number three. Zoro's three swords, his earrings, and Sanji's name, and the fact that he's associated with three as well. It's like a weird thread of destiny sort of thing that I love.

What makes me sad about them: That they both throw themselves in harm's way so often.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: I think people being very strict about one or the other being the top/bottom. I feel like they switch things around pretty often tbh

things I look for in fanfic: Internalized homophobia Sanji with openly queer Zoro lmao Like, Zoro who is out and has been out since they met and Sanji being weird about it. But as he starts falling for Zoro, he tries so hard to push it down before finally accepting that being attracted to men doesn't make him any less manly.

My kinks: I love Zoro breaking Sanji. It kinda goes hand in hand with the internalized homophobia but Sanji thinking that sex with a man will never be as good as sex with a woman but when he finally does it, it blows his mind. Zoro gives the best blowjobs and his jaw never gets tired because of all his sword training so when he sucks the soul out of Sanji and doesn't stop even after he cums, Sanji's like "yeah, okay, this is fucking amazing" Same with him taking things up his ass or letting Zoro eat him out. My happily ever after for them: Them getting married with Zoro giving Sanji one of his earrings to use as a ring (I saw fanart of this once and my heart couldn't take it). Sanji owns a restaurant and Zoro never stops training but definitely stops in the restaurant for lunch (and when he doesn't, Sanji nags him when he brings his lunch out to the training grounds nearby for him)

How I feel about this character: I always say to my friends: I love him but I hate him. Like, he is so amazing but sometimes he does shit and I want to strangle him so bad.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Zoro I think is the only person I really ship Sanji with

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Either Luffy and Sanji or Robin and Sanji. These are mostly due to spoilers I've seen online but Luffy calling to him in Whole Cake Island and him calling out to Robin for help both really caught my attention and made me enjoy their relationships more.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Idk if this is unpopular but I really don't think the post-timeskip art style (at least in the anime?) is really doing him any favors. Why they make his neck so fucking thick lmao???

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish we addressed his crossdressing era more post-timeskip. Like you mean to tell me we saw him enjoy crossdressing and then as soon as he left the island it's as though it never happened? Nuh uh, put that man in a dress, have him crossdress for an infiltration mission and have him make a comment to himself about how he lowkey misses it.

my het ship: Ummmm idk if I really have a het ship for Sanji now that I think about it? In my heart he just never stops striking out with women.

my cross over ship: I don't really think about crossovers

And my idea of fem!Sanji definitely wears that harness that the cosplayer I mention wears. Plus, my fem!Sanji most definitely wears a pencil skirt (made with a stretchy material of course so she can still kick), thigh highs with garters, and black heels. Yeah, she definitely can run in heels and will stab you with them

Do you have any other Luffy ships you like? Are there any you dislike?

Acelu and sanlu are my two biggest Luffy ships, but I casually ship him with a lot of characters, especially Shanks and pretty much every villain (especially the big bastards, like Crocodile and Doflamingo and Katakuri, because I like size differences). I like lawlu but it's a bit too saturated in the fandom for my tastes.

I don't really ship him with anyone else in the Strawhat crew and honestly, I don't like romantic z.olu like. At all. I see their relationship as platonic soulmates and anything romantic just feels off to me. Also no shipping with any of the Whitebeards because, quite frankly, I hate them.

“Torao… not yet I wanted more meat” protests Luffy. “You can have it in bed, Mugiwara-ya” he answers. You can’t help but laugh, this still feels unreal. And you suddenly hear the surgeon cast his “Room” spell, followed by “Shambles”.

Your and Luffy’s ass fall on a big bed, in what looks like some place with metallic walls. “Oh Torao, the Polar!” Luffy says, giggling. Hearts With(out) Chains Chapter 1

Fandom: One Piece Rating: PG-13 Pairings: Gen (eventual Lawlu) Words: 3062 Characters: Trafalgar Law, Donquixote Doflamingo, Penguin, Shachi, Bepo, Disco, Eustass Kid, Monkey D. Luffy, Nico Robin, Usopp, Silvers Rayleigh, Jean Bart Note: I’m taking my turn at the Corazon!Law AU because my brain won’t leave me alone until this is written down. Tags will be updated as the chapters come out.

The story title is based on the Ellie Goulding song “Hearts Without Chains.”

Summary: Law is reclaimed by the Family when he’s 17 and, with Doflamingo holding the lives of his crew as collateral for his good behavior, eventually becomes the third Corazon. Years later, trapped by his impossible situation, Law can’t help but resent Monkey D. Luffy for offering a glimpse of something he’s repeatedly had ripped away from him: hope.

Seven Years Later

Law grumbled to himself as he wound his way through Grove 1 toward Doffy’s auction house. He disliked being sent on errands like this, but he had little choice in the matter. His grip tightened on Kikoku as he glanced behind him to see Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo following a half step behind him. He nodded and kept moving. He was here to do a job, after all.

Sabaody was particularly lively today, with the presence of the so-called Supernovas, ten super rookies with bounties over 100,000,000 berries. Law had never had a bounty of his own, as he’d been the subordinate of a Warlord since he was 17, though he’d often wondered what it might have been had Doflamingo not found him that day in the North Blue.

Though, he supposed, it didn’t really matter. His position had earned him a certain amount of infamy, even without a bounty.

Shachi had the wanted poster for each Supernova, keeping an eye out for any information to be had. Law’s crew had proven itself adept at intel gathering over the years, so they were often sent on such missions. Though today’s job wasn’t reconnaissance, that didn’t mean there weren’t any rumors to dig up while in the lawless zones of Sabaody—especially with such interesting figures on hand. Getting a preview of the next generation of pirates to enter the New World could be valuable.

As they moved in the direction of the auction house, Shachi pointed out some of the Supernova, including X Drake from the North Blue and Mad Monk Urouge. Law took note of each one with passing interest; while they might seem impressive after making their way through Paradise, he doubted most of them would last in the New World. Over the years, many rookies had made their names before arriving at Sabaody only to fall quite spectacularly in the second half of the Grand Line. Law had learned to keep his expectations low and had thus stopped paying so much attention to the rookies until they did something to earn the attention.

Penguin threw Law a confused look as they headed for the front door of the auction house rather than the back entrance, but Law shook the other man off. Penguin shrugged and followed his lead; these three had been dealing with his moods since he was a teenager, so this was hardly anything new. The guards at the auction house gaped as they approached, scrambling to greet them.

“C-corazon!” one stammered as another grabbed the door. “We didn’t know to expect you today!”

“Please, come in! Should we get Disco for you?”

Law waved them off. “No need. And no need to tell Disco-ya I’m here either. I’ll find him after business is done for the day.” Law couldn’t stand the slaver and wanted to spend as little time in his presence as possible.

“Of course.”

The guards bowed Law, Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo into the auction house. Law took a seat toward the back, draping his arms over the back of the bench, the others filling in around him. He handed Kikoku to Bepo, who took the nodachi without a word, and casually surveyed the room. When the Celestial Dragons waltzed in, Law ground his teeth but said nothing. It wasn’t part of his mission today.

“Well, well, well,” a gravelly voice said from behind Law. “It looks like there are some big names here today. First Celestial Dragons and now the second-in-command of the Donquixote Pirates. I’ve heard some nasty rumors about you, Corazon.”

Law turned his head to see a ragtag group of pirates standing at the back of the auction house. The redhead in the garish pants was clearly the leader; he stood out front of the others and exuded arrogance.

“Eustass ‘Captain’ Kid,” Shachi murmured. “He has the highest bounty of all the Supernova. His first mate, Killer, is also on the list.”

Law considered this then proceeded to flip the rookie captain off, smirking, before looking away. He heard Eustass laugh.

“Shit manners though.”

“Politeness won’t get you far in the New World, Eustass-ya,” Law said without looking back. The New World tended to humble people like Eustass Kid, Law knew from experience.

“Yeah?” Eustass had stepped down to stand adjacent to Law’s row of seats. “I suppose you’d know all about the New World, working for a government dog.”

Law glanced his way but turned his attention back to the empty stage. Petty taunts rolled off him; he’d heard far worse over the years, often from his own Family.

“What, nothing to say?”

Law rolled his eyes. “I’m busy.”

Eustass snorted. “You look it.”

Law nodded toward the stage. “You see the Jolly Roger on the wall there? If you know who I am, then you know who owns this place.” He gave Eustass an unimpressed look. “I’m here on business.”

Whatever Eustass was going to say was drowned out as the emcee took to the stage to introduce Disco and begin the auction. Baring a few teeth, Law made a shooing motion at Eustass to dismiss him. The rookie captain growled lowly but headed back to his crew to observe.

“Was that a good idea?” Bepo asked, glancing at the rookie crew and back toward Law.

Law shrugged, unconcerned. “He’ll be missing a heart before he can try anything.” And maybe a few other limbs. Being around the slave trade put Law in a foul mood, and an outlet would be welcome. The sooner the auction ended, the sooner Law could find Disco and finish his job.

Law paid little attention to the auction until Disco brought out a pirate who bit off his own tongue, choosing death over slavery. The scene was bloody and the auction house descended into horror, but Law couldn’t blame the poor son of a bitch; he briefly considered the day Doffy had found him and his own terror at being reclaimed by the Family. What would have happened if he’d tried a stunt like that?

Doffy probably would have stitched his tongue back together with his Fruit and then taken out Law’s disobedience on Bepo, Shachi, or Penguin. He had made it clear over the last seven years that neither would Law be the architect of his own death nor would he get out of the Family again so easily.

The weak do not choose how they die, he thought with distaste before turning his thoughts back to the present.

The auction was briefly back on track when Disco brought out a mermaid, but the room fell into utter chaos once another Supernova (Monkey D. Luffy, Shachi noted amidst the confusion) came blasting through the wall… and then proceeded to punch one of the Celestial Dragons in the face.

Now that might be deserving of attention, Law thought with no little amusement before noticing Disco fleeing from the stage. As the Straw Hats jumped into action against the guards and the occupants of the auction house fled for the front door, Law knew he couldn’t put his task off any longer. He grabbed Kikoku from Bepo, the only warning to his crew that he was on the move.

He opened a Room and switched places with the podium on the stage, moving the moment his feet hit the wood in pursuit of the slaver and auctioneer. The chaos behind him barely registered as he followed the man backstage. He jogged past guards running toward the stage. He knew he got a few open stares, but he ignored them now that he was on the hunt for his prey. His status meant no one would dare stop him here anyway.

Law stopped at the door to what seemed to be Disco’s office. The man stood at his desk and was fumbling with a Den Den Mushi.

“No need to call Joker, Disco-ya,” Law said, leaning against the doorway.

Disco jerked badly, the snail slipping from his fingers and clattering to the desk. He whirled around. “Corazon?” he squeaked. “What are you doing here?” Then he seemed to collect himself. “Shouldn’t you be helping get the situation under control? This is Joker’s operation.”

Law shrugged, uninterested. “I’m here with a message from Doflamingo, not to clean up your messes.”

Disco paled. “W-what kind of message couldn’t he send over Den Den Mushi?”

Law lifted his free hand and opened a Room.

Disco gaped like a fish out of water at the small blue dome encompassing him. “P-please, no! Corazon! I’ve been loyal! I’ve done everything Joker asked of me.”

“And he’s grateful for your cooperation,” Law replied, straightening. He withdrew Kikoku from her sheath, the sword humming in anticipation. “But he’s decided it’s time to move on to newer ventures.”

“N-newer ventures?” The auctioneer couldn’t pull his eyes from the nodachi in Law’s hand.

“Nothing for you to worry about, Disco-ya. It’s just business.”

The man’s scream was drowned out by the rest of the chaos in the auction house.

Returning from his completed errand at a more leisurely pace, Law paused as he felt a wave of Conqueror’s Haki rush through the auction house, causing his skin to prickle, followed a few moments later by an explosion. He frowned. Who was on hand that could use that? Could one of those Supernova…?

He hurried back to the stage to see the auction house guards unconscious. The only people standing were the Straw Hats—more of whom had appeared while Law was taking care of his task—the Kid Pirates, Law’s own crew, and…

“Dark King Rayleigh,” Law said, lips lifting in a smirk. The Family’s spies had put the man on the island, though he was running a ship coating business these days—when he wasn’t gambling. Law wasn’t expecting to run into the living legend, though.

The older man, mermaid on his back, turned back toward the stage. His eyes landed on Law, and he raised an eyebrow. With a quick Room and Shambles, Law switched places with the podium and was once more standing with his crew.

“Whoa!” Straw Hat Luffy gaped. “That was so cool! And what’s up with the bear?”

“What?” Bepo started.

Rayleigh simply turned his gaze to Law’s new position. “Now, now. Don’t use that name when so many Marines are around. Not all of us have immunity from the government.”

“Luffy,” a female voice said. Law glanced to see Nico Robin, the Demon Child, standing near the Straw Hat captain. She was eyeing him warily. “That’s Corazon. He’s the second-in-command of the Donquixote Family. Be careful.”

“Donquixote? The Warlord?” the one with the long-nose squawked.

“See the Jolly Roger on the wall?” Nico Robin said. “This auction house is owned by Donquixote Doflamingo.”

The gathered pirates looked between the symbol on the wall and the damage throughout the building before turning to Law, stances turning defensive.

Law raised his hands. “I’m not interested in a fight.” He’d done what he’d come here to do. He was ready to get off this shithole of an island, even if that meant returning to Dressrosa. “But you all might want to get moving. The whole place is surrounded by Marines.”

“Marines?”

“They surrounded the place not long after the auction started,” Law replied. “I don’t know who they were here to catch, but the attack on a family of Celestial Dragons only riled them up more.” He couldn’t help his lips turning upward at that. “I’d recommend leaving before an admiral arrives.”

“What about you?” Straw Hat asked.

Law shrugged and gestured to himself and his crew. “Government dogs, remember?”

Eustass snorted and turned toward the door. “Well, I have no interest in facing an admiral today. I did get to see Straw Hat Luffy pull some crazy shit, though, so I’m satisfied.” He threw a hand up in a wave. “We’ll even lend you guys a hand and clean up outside on our way out.”

Law snorted as it was clear Straw Hat Luffy took that as a personal affront, immediately following the other pirate, voice rising in indignation. He watched as the remaining members sighed long-sufferingly and trailed their captain. Law received a few more suspicious looks as the pirates and their friends passed him, but Law had no intention of getting involved—fighting against the Marines was against the rules for the Warlords and their subordinates, after all.

It wasn’t long before Law could hear gunfire and yelling coming from outside the auction house. He thought he could make out the sound of gleeful laughter as well.

Law’s lips curled upward in spite of himself. “Monkey D. Luffy, huh?”

Another D, Cora-san…

Law turned back to Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo. They were watching him curiously.

Law frowned at them. “What?”

“Nothing,” Penguin said immediately.

Law narrowed his eyes. “Out with it.”

The trio was saved from having to answer when Law’s Den Den Mushi started ringing. Law sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Of course he would be checking in for an update. Law pulled the snail from his pocket and answered, knowing how the man got when Law took too long to answer.

“Doffy.”

“Corazon. Is the job done?”

Law blinked at the immediate question. Doffy was usually chattier when he called; it was one of Law’s least favorite things about him—among many least favorite things. “Yes. Disco-ya’s no longer a concern.”

“Good. Don’t set sail yet, though. I need you to stay on Sabaody for now.”

Law grimaced. “For what?”

“You may be needed in Marineford soon.”

Law glanced at the other three, bemused. They shrugged in return. “Why?”

A snort. “Haven’t you seen the paper?”

“I’ve been a bit busy with the errand you sent me on,” Law replied irritably.

“The Marines have set Fire Fist’s execution. They’re summoning all the Warlords to be there.”

Law felt his stomach drop as the implications hit him. There were some hissed breaths to his side as the others came to the same conclusion Law had.

“Do they want a war?”

“Seems that way.” Unsurprisingly, Doffy sounded practically giddy at that. He was a warmonger and profiteer, after all. “Which is why I may need you.”

“Right,” he said blandly. A war between the Marines and the Whitebeard Pirates was exactly the last thing he wanted to get pulled into.

“Corazon.” Doflamingo’s voice had a warning edge to it.

Law pursed his lips but knew better than to argue. “We’ll stay on Sabaody and be ready to sail.”

“Better.”

Once the call ended, Law sighed and dropped the snail back into his pocket. “Guess we’re not leaving after all.”

“This is going to be ugly, isn’t it?” Penguin asked.

“No doubt.” Law rubbed a hand over his face before looking toward the auction house entrance. “Sounds like things have quieted down. Let’s head out.”

When the four reached the entrance, Law let out a surprised huff as he surveyed the scene. There was mass chaos, as Marines were littered across the ground as well as rushing around the help the wounded. The Straw Hat and Kid Pirates seemed to have already fled, though.

“Looks like the rookies did some damage,” Law chuckled. “Not bad.”

A few Marines looked up to see them and yelled, scrabbling for their weapons. “More pirates coming from the auction house!”

“Stand down, idiots!” one of the commanders called back. “They’re with Donquixote. Leave them alone.”

Law’s eye twitched at that, but he didn’t argue as he led Penguin, Shachi, and Bepo down the steps. He paused at the sight of a large slave left abandoned outside the house. After a moment, Law blinked; he knew this man.

“Pirate captain Jean Bart,” he greeted.

The large man looked down at him, startled. “It’s been a long time since anyone’s called me that.”

“It would be a shame to leave a man like you in shackles,” Law said, forming a Room and using Kikoku to slice through the collar around Jean Bart’s neck. It fell to the ground with a harmless clank.

Jean Bart put a hand to his neck, eyes wide in disbelief. “How?”

“Devil Fruit,” Law replied simply, making a small Room in his palm before letting it go.

“Why? They,” Jean Bart said, nodding back toward the Marines, “said you work for Donquixote Doflamingo.” Or, Law translated, they said you work for one of the biggest names in the slave trade.

“It’s complicated,” Penguin said.

“That, and I’m happy to fuck over the Celestial Dragons in any way I can,” Law replied with a shrug. He glanced around, noting the Marines gaping at him for daring to free a Celestial Dragon’s slave. He saluted them with a smirk before turning back to Jean Bart. “If I were you, I’d get out of here quickly; shit’s about to get ugly.”

“You don’t want me to serve under you in return for my freedom?” After all, why free him if not to get something in return?

“You wouldn’t be much freer under me than here.”

The former captain frowned at him. “You don’t serve Doflamingo willingly?”

“Like we said, it’s complicated,” Shachi added.

Jean Bart looked between them. “I see no collars on your necks, no man riding on your back. Nothing could be worse than that.” He shook his head. “I have nothing but the rags on my back. My crew is either dead or enslaved. My family is long dead. Where would I go?” He swallowed. “If you’d have me, I’d serve under a man who would free a slave that others ignored and gladly taunt the Celestial Dragons to do it.”

Law glanced back at Shachi, Bepo, and Penguin. They looked back at him steadily, as if to say, Your choice, Captain.

Law’s crew—though they were part of the Donquixote Pirates, their original name of Heart Pirates had stuck as a nickname among the Family considering Law held the Heart seat—had grown from the original four Doflamingo had taken from the North Blue, but Law was always hesitant to bring on anyone new considering Doflamingo’s use of his crew to assure Law’s good behavior. Somehow, he’d still found a loyal group who willingly followed him despite his warnings to the contrary; he had no idea what he’d done to deserve them.

“All right,” Law said finally. “Let’s get back to the ship.”

Additionally, the pest wouldn't stop running his mouth once he began to speak.

I’m curious... what are your headcanons from your fav character or otp?

Oof thanks for asking I've got a ton but here are a few off the top of my head..

For Otp, though I'm definitely a multishiper, seriously there are currently three ships I hate (a few more that I dislike but tolerate) all others I love. However, I adore lawlu particularly so here it goes

Law calls Luffy "Love" when no ones there to witness it. He prefers this over all other pet/nick names.

Law freaks out whenever Luffy does something crazy bc not only does it destroy his plan, but also, Law knows exactly how far Luffy will push himself (Law has seen that shit first hand and it scares him must we recall the war?)

Luffy is obviously super affectionate, physically, where as Law will sweet talk Luffy to death (but that's for Luffy's ears only)

Law despises the fact that Luffy doesn't have his own room on the Sunny. Not because he wants sex all the time or anything like that but because Law prefers privacy especially around the fucking Strawhats.

Luffy hates that Law has his own room bc Luffy is more comfortable sleeping near other people, but he'll put up with it as long as Law's keeping him company.

Luffy👏loves👏to👏cuddle, ALWAYS

Law is not a morning person and hates getting out of bed when he first wakes up, however, he gets super clingy and snuggly towards Luffy when he first wakes up.

I have a hard time deciding between Ace and Law as my favs but since I already did Law (kinda☝️) I'll do Ace. I havent read the novel things on Ace yet but I did read the wiki so sorry if this contradicts that.

Ace felt rlly bad when he joined Whitebeards crew so he had a really long talk with all of his crew before joining and made sure everything was out in the open (no secrets AT ALL)

Ace and Deuce's relationship had the EXACT same energy and Zoro and Luffys.

Ace spent hours telling Deuce (and later Marco) about his adventures with Luffy and Sabo.

Ace is polite only to people who have fed him or to people who have given him a reason to respect them.

Ace has gotten into fights with random ppl trash talking Luffy or ANY of the Strawhats.

Ace made the entire crew on the Moby Dick call Marco "Pineapple daddy" and to retaliate Marco told everyone Ace falls asleep during meals bc he stays up all night bc he's afraid of the dark

Whiteboard admitted he wanted to make Ace the next pirate King HoWeVeR, Ace would have never gone along with it, not bc of Roger but bc that's his baby brothers dream and he won't get in the way of that. (If he would have lived that long)

Maybe there were more sick people, than Law was anticipating now. It would be a positive surprise. Gastroenteritis, influenza. Yes. Masses of sick people, which he could take care of, while working extra hours. Maybe this vacation would be the best he ever had.

Chapter 1: Compensatory time-off

Most people were looking forward to their summer vacation. Having no duties, no work, no school meant relaxation and time spent with beloved people. If you had any left.

For Trafalgar D. Water Law this was not the case. He disliked his mandatory days off-work. He could deal with one free day every two weeks, but summer meant four weeks of forced vacation. More than four days free meant he had to visit the family. The head of the family was very strict about this. He preferred his people around him, nearby. Close enough to monitor and manipulate. It made Law feel sick to his stomach. Doflamingo looked too similiar to his brother. A terrifying caricature of his beloved Cora-san. No warmth in his smile. Just teeth and danger. No love in his always hidden eyes. Tall and towering. Furtive. Danger.

How he hated that time of the year. And every year it was the same. People wished him happy holidays, people were surprised to hear how long he had worked through without a proper time off. Some people admired him for his strict working routine, other people envied him, and some people pitied him. They probably thought he would not hear their whispered, how they were saying things like:

„Does he not have any family? “ - He really did not want to spend time with them. „Why does he not want to spend time with his friends? “ - It was not his fault, they were busy. „Does he even have friends? “ - Yes...?

Not that people talking bothered him at all. He found it quite amusing how people misjudged him. Yes, he worked much. Probably more than any other person at the hospital. He always had to give his best. Everything below his best was worthless, useless. Sometimes his best was not even good enough. Either do it right, or not at all. He did not work so much or so hard, because he had nothing else to do. At least it had not been like this in the beginning...

He did have a family. One he did not have much to do with anymore, not since his beloved Cora-san died. He did the mandatory summer visit, had to. Otherwise, he did not feel like interacting much anymore. Stay away from the toxic, from the danger. Still, they were his family. They adopted him when he was still a small child. He should feel grateful. Right? Law barely had any memories left of his blood-related family. Every time he tried to think back and tried to remember them he just heard the screams again, felt the incredible heat of the burning building. It left him panicking and anxious; therefore, he tried to not think back. Push away what makes you think, sick.

Happy fragments of memory, Lami playing in the garden, mothers homemade biscuits and fathers teachings about basic medicine. Law knew these moments existed. However, the other fragments of memories were much more present. Fire. Pain. Screams. Horror.

His other family though had helped him to grow into a presentable human being. He was nice looking, well dressed, intelligent, well-articulated. To be fair, nothing less had been expected from him. Anything worse than best-grades possible had earned him the disapproval of the head of the family. Something about not developing his full potential.

Corazon, the brother of the family leader had been more forgiving. He had been the one pampering Law and trying to make him feel better, whenever he only reached 95 % or less in an exam.

“He is just a kid. Doffy, let him play with other kids…”

“I am sorry Law. I am sure Doffy has good intentions. He knows the dark world outside, you know.”

Law had tried to believe Corazon. He had been there whenever he needed him. Thinking about Cora-san made Law smile and sad. Grief. Loneliness. The family might have made him successful and well educated but Cora-san had taught him how to love, how to smile and how to feel joy in life. He missed him. Cora-san had been the light of his life. Guarding him through the darkness he had felt as child and teenager. What about now?

Since that light was gone Law … struggled. Darkness was swallowing him up again. There was no guiding light anymore. No one. He had friends. Yes. Quite contrary to what most people thought.

There were Penguin and Shachi. Two guys he had gotten to know while studying. He had some Biology lectures together with Penguin. Shachi had been the best friend of Penguin. He had helped both of them with their exams and in return they had invited him to student parties and made sure that he got some university experience apart from studying, learning and disappointing Doflamingo because he could barely be good enough. Both were in a relationship by now. Busy with family planning, buying their own houses. They barely asked Law anymore. Not as much as they used to.

Another friend of his was Eustass. Okay. Maybe they did not have a typical friendship. Most people seeing the two of them together for the first time often had the impression that they hated each other’s guts. They were arguing and fighting. Literally fighting. Eustass had tackled Law more than once to the ground, leaving bruises and marks on his bodies. Law on the other hand had broken Eustass’ nose once and twisted his hand at least twice. And still they met each other. Their relationship had been more of a on and off kind of thing. But still they appreciated each other.

It had changed over the years though. The amount of times they decreased. Living more than an hour apart and both being busy with work made it difficult to meet. Law being finished with studying, having his medical license, working full time and Kid owning his own mechanical place. Work was time consuming for both of them. That and not putting enough effort in keeping the contact up from Laws side… had made the friendship slowly but steady running out. Quite a few times Kid had tried to contact him, to make him lose his temper again, but somehow Law… had not felt like it. As much as he disliked knowing why he thought like this. But ever since catching Kid mid-act with another dude he felt … like the other one did not deserve him.

Apparently, Doflamingo’s parenting had left some traces on him. Feeling like being worth more than others. Knowing one should be special. Bind people you want, close enough so they can never leave. Get rid of the people not deserving you.

It was hard to get rid of these thoughts, especially since Cora-san was gone. He had always managed to remind him of his normal human side, reminding him that emotions were normal and that other people had feelings too. However, there was no use in dwelling about these things. Push away the thoughts.

One week later Law felt, like the heaven’s had heard his thoughts. No vacation! At least no classical vacation! He had an excuse for declining the family visit! For once Law felt blessed because of a vacation. A cruise-trip.

He was going to be part of the medical team supporting the trip. For around six weeks, he was going to stay on the ship, working in shifts with other doctors and nurses. It was longer than his normal four weeks of forced-vacation. They were going to visit several islands. The boat would stop at the islands for one, two or three nights and then they would travel to the next one. During the time at the islands, there would be several guiding tours, showing the sights of the islands, eating the traditional foods of the islands and at night, the guests could either stay on the island and celebrate or enjoy a hopefully calm night at the ship. Since they would work in shifts, Law was able to visit some of the islands by himself. Distraction.

Law was expecting the trip to be relatively calm. People being travel-sick, sunburns and headaches from staying too long in the hot summer-sun and overdooing alcohol. Some blisters maybe, people not being used to walk great distances in new-bought shoes. In Addition, some people, elder ones probably, with stomach issues. Foreign food and eating too excessively for their already slowed down metabolism. Not that they were going to listen to Law, when he mentioned that. But well…

It felt weird, but Law was actually looking forward to the trip. A change of setting, maybe a change in his life? One he needed, if he wanted to survive.

Prompto. My sunshine child. My first thought of him was that he was going to be this generic blond, happy-go-lucky best friend to our raven haired protag but damn. He was anything but generic. His backstory and overall characterization were fantastic and I love him...enough said

For One Piece...So many?!? Like I didn’t expect to love Nico Robin as much as I do. In the beginning she was just sorta there for me but then I just grew to love her character and always wanted her to get some super awesome fight scenes. LUFFY? Ok confession time...I’m usually not too attached to main characters. Its just a thing but I absolutely love Luffy. Especially when he does a 180 and goes super serious....thats just terrifying. also depending on how you read this question...FRIGGIN TRAFALGAR LAW MY MAN~ *ahem* I knew OF him and had seen some screenshots but the more I learned the more obsessed I became with this man and hot damn I feel like I’m betraying my childhood faves of Zoro and Sanji...sorry guys

And for BNHA I would have to go with Aizawa and Tsuyu. Ok so with Aizawa I did already love him from the beginning BUT once I saw the end of season 1 my respect and love for this man went through the roof. This man is a total badass and I love him...have I mentioned? He is the best. And Tsuyu just an adorable badass in her own way. Again in the beginning she was just sorta there but then she grew on me immensely.

The character you relate to most:

Definitely Prompto. I have a lot of self esteem issues from the way I look to the way I act that I try to cover up with ‘fake’ confidence and bravado that usually ends up with me being an odd duck to speak...I constantly fret over people possibly disliking me for something I say/do

Ace for OP I guess? I am very close to my family, especially my one sibling. I am very protective of those close to me. Also I am extremely stubborn and can pretty much sleep anywhere XD

Momo. not to sound arrogant or anything...but I was quite good at most subjects in school and most things came naturally to me. I also enjoyed helping and tutoring others in areas they had been struggling. I did have some confidence problems when it came to other matters that I still work on.

I would have to go with Franky and Brook. I think now that I’ve gotten back into the fandom and started rewatching OP (never got to Franky and Brook the first time) I just had this negative feel about them? I knew of people complaining that Brook didn’t have any time to ‘grow’ as a character and I just did not like Franky off the bat. However both of them in their respective arcs really grew on me, especially Brook and his backstory...gods I cried like a baby.

Definitely Bakugo. To me he was just this giant asshole of a character I really wanted to get punched in the face. But then it became almost...comedic? and more receptive from his fellow classmates vs just Deku and also Deku was able to stand up to him. Bakugo has really had an interesting character development I admit~

The reason I think Zoro is abusive to Sanji is because he treats him like he isn't even a human. It's gone BEYOND bickering. I get that friends argue, but friends don't treat friends as if they mean nothing. Zoro reminds me so much of so many of my childhood bullies; the things he does, says, and just the way he hold himself. They do have normal arguments, but they usually start or end with Zoro saying something awful. FRIENDS DON'T TREAT FRIENDS LIKE THEY'RE WORTHLESS

Also, I noticed that in the tags to that post you said that you weren’t sure if you had changed my mind or just spit in my face; do you really think THAT changed my mind? Maybe you would have, if you hadn’t been so mean and aggressive about it. I’m always open to changing my opinion if there is proper information to support it, but because you decided that my question warranted aggression I probably won’t. Personally I would have answered any ask more politely but that might just be me.

First up, I would like to acknowledge two things: I was passive aggressive. I was very frustrated at the time because I like to talk. I like to express myself in the written form and that frustration bled into my language. I apologise if my words read hatefully towards you. I also should have been conscious that I had no idea what sort of context you were speaking from but I would like to state given the information on you I had available at the time, I wrongfully assumed you were going to be speaking from sort of puritanical, anti-problematic anything stance. If that is not the case, I doubly apologise and I hope you feel as though this is coming from the bottom of my heart because I am genuinely apologising.

Secondly, I would like to acknowledge that I am definitely projecting onto canon for where i’m going to pull my interpretations on hence, why I included that reply - not because I think the person who left said reply is the same person has asked for an explanation as to how I perceive the canon dynamics and relationships of Sanji between the two Strawhats in question.

I one hundred percent wholly believe in the True Companions and Found Family tropes the Strawhats are built on. Are made of. I realise there is a lot of bias because I have an embarassingly deep desire to have a friendship group that emulates the Strawhats due to my own experiences in real life friendships. Perhaps I’ve been socialised to accept what goes beyond the boundaries of “normal friendships” and this is completely screwed bias talking but….

I refuse to let anyone slander their canon relationships of friendships, of nakama, of familial bonds.

Sanji and Zoro are built on the comical trope of bickering. One Piece is a comedy. Their friction is played for laughs because it is shown time and time again that when the going gets tough, well they stick it out together. That is the formula their platonic relationship works on.

However, fanon is a completely different issue. Seeing your childhood bullies in Zoro is fanon. Seeing romantic relationships between most of the characters is fanon. Seeing abusive or hateful relationships between the Strawhats is most definitely fanon since time and time again, the Strawhats have proven they would go through Hell for each other. Each and everyone one of them would. Every single combination of them would because they love each other: they’re what I could consider platonic soul mates. Including Sanji and Zoro.

Unfortunately Anon, the best advice I can give to you to this ridiculous discourse to an end is that you have to learn to cherry pick your fanon better. Blacklist characters you don’t like. Blacklist ships and buzz words you hate. Avoid the stripes of artists and writers who don’t cut it for you. That’s okay.

Everyone brings their personal context to a piece of media first and foremost and that affects how they will react and interpret.

My next piece of advice is that if you think you’ll dislike something, don’t bother asking those who like it why they like it. Even if you have the intention of wanting to be open minded and wanting to change your own mind, it never ends well.

You’re allowed to have the most popular ships in fandom as your NOTPs and you’re allowed to say that. I have. On this very blog. I have mentioned time and time again that I dislike LawLu/most Luffy ships in general. So, I just avoid and blacklist whilst maintaining a belief of “ship and let ship” because I accept and acknowledge people will have differing perceptions of media. I love the diversity. Sometimes, it leads to conflict but sometimes, it can lead to something beautiful.

TLDR: blacklist, unfollow, block and avoid because we all have different experiences and those experiences will affect perceptions of media and surround yourself with fanon you agree with.

And please don’t try and find my main. I don’t want this there either.
