She unwrenches herself from Isabela’s grip and looks at her with wide eyes, wild, fearful. Steps back as if she has, in fact, been brushed by a ghost.

“You will not ruin me,” she hisses. (Rot, then.)

“Do you need money for the ferry?”

“I need nothing from you.” (Whore.)

She crosses herself as she leaves.

I saw a post abt mocking ppl abt the love square saying how bad the season is and that the end will be very disappointing blah blah blah u know usual stuff

I just... this rlly set me off cause I've not been very excited with the start of the season cause of the bible being leaked and a lot of ppl who read it saying that the season was going to be bad. Everytime I go see some legal spoilers and teasers I see ppl making memes and analysis, stuff that dont have a fcking read below tag or even a warning at the start that it's a bible leak and everytime I think it's just some headcanon its fcking real and I am so disappointed.

Like I haven't watched multiplication and destruction and don't even think on doing it anytime soon cause that's how low my interest dropped from accidentally seeing SO MANY leaked images and text posts saying that ml season 5 will truly be trash

I dont wanna look into anymore of those spoilers it's rlly not safe even in this site so I just wanna ask if u think this season is as bad as ppl say it?

But I understand you completely this show goes from 0 to 100 and the other way around ALL THE TIME. One episode is amazing and the next one is crap and so on. I hated the bible so much and I still hate so many decisions the writers made and I'm really not sure how things will end but I idk I thought quitting the show will help me but I'm too attached to it and my friends here and the truth is I can't just leave. I loved Destruction. I wanted to leave not because I was disappointed in the previous episodes - the season 4 finale was awesome and so was Evolution and Multiplication - but the spoilers got worse and worse. The more I read about them the more I hated them and nothing here was making me want to stay. The fandom sucks too but man there are some of my friends here whom I would sell my soul to the devil for so I can see them again every day. If you want to quit I fully understand and I don't judge you. I quit like three times now and every time I find excuse to come back. ML is addictive. If you need a break take it. We will get a lot of episodes now and when/if you come back you will have a lot of stuff to watch. Breaks help a lot. I felt so good when I didn't interact with the fandom for a while.

But just in case maybe you want to read the bible? And I will share the link for it and I can't say it will change your mind but I just think you should watch Multiplication and Destruction cuz I haven't met a person yet who was deeply disappointed by these episodes. I personally thought they were great. I wish every episode was this interesting and funny and I know this season will disappoint with some episodes too but that's how we roll. I will probably take more breaks again sometime when I decide. I understand and support you whatever you decide. You do what you want.

Okay I absolutely hate posting hot takes online these days but this is just my impossible idea of the minute here and I need to chime in on this particular pet peeve of mine; I wish that at the very least bare minimum, people would stop calling angels “eldritch horrors” and use the much more appropriate term “eldritch wonders,” and here’s why.

I could talk forever and bring up a million points about actual scriptural accuracy when it comes to so-called “biblically accurate angels” that are the rage to talk about these days, but to spare you all a literal Great Wall of Text, I’m not talking about any of the actual nuances of angel related Biblical doctrine. I don’t need to be the fiftieth person to point out that Ezekiel is one book. If you want that kind of thing I’ve reblogged plenty of other posts from other people with good insights on this topic you can find in my tags. I realize that the vast majority of people talking about “biblically accurate angels” are not looking to talk theology, they’re just looking to use the idea of angels as an archetype in their content in the same way that you would use any sort of otherworldly being in any fantasy setting or what have you, which I realize is a completely separate thing from trying to depict an actually accurate angel. I can even give people the benefit of the doubt if they want to use the descriptor “Eldritch” to describe the types of angels people like to talk about in Ezekiel, because the whole idea of eldritch being hard to visually comprehend and abstract compared to our own human perspective is definitely true with angels, even the ones that don’t have a prodigious quantity of eyes, and people who just see the popular depictions are drawn to that sort of motif, because people like weird abstract stuff. I too like weird abstract stuff, I wouldn’t be into cosmic horror if I didn’t, so again, I get it guys. But lumping angels into the blanket category of “Cosmic Horror” is fundamentally missing the point, and you’re at the very least missing an opportunity to introduce something to your setting that fills a different role than just “Lovecraft with a vaguely Abrahamic coat of paint.”

Angels conceptually speaking have that similar sort of effect associated with Lovecraftian beings where merely being in their presence is enough to viscerally make humans aware of their place in the cosmos, the difference I never see anyone actually make the distinction of is that everyone’s favorite angel related catchphrase that gets memed into the ground, “be not afraid,” is the polar opposite of the things associated with cosmic horror! Cthulhu doesn’t give a measly fart if you’re afraid of him, his apathy towards you is the thing that unravels your gray matter in the end, the inevitability of your own insignificance in the universe. Angels are the complete opposite of this, their entire point any time they appear in biblical stories is for the purpose of God communicating directly to humanity. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about angels bringing good news to shepherds about Jesus’s birth in the New Testament, angels destroying entire armies in the Old Testament, or everyone’s favorite scene of the Seraphim appearing to Ezekiel in a vision with all of his wings and eyes, in every single instance we see angels in the Bible the entire point of them being seen at all is as a reminder that God has an active interest in humanity and he’s being completely to the point about what he is saying to them. It’s completely antithetical to Cosmic Horror in every sense, because when they say “don’t be afraid” they actually mean it, the burning nine-foot angel is showing up from thin air and blasting you in the face with the glory of God full force and overwhelming you to a point where you might not fully comprehend, but it isn’t overwhelming you with horror, it’s overwhelming you with wonder! It’s here to let you know that you matter enough for God to send a being from the Heavens to convey good news to you, so don’t be afraid, the impossibly and infinitely vast unfathomable cosmic being responsible for your existence knows this is a lot to handle at once but just wants to remind you He loves you, son. That’s not only totally different from Cosmic Horror, it’s also a theme I almost never see get used except I guess in C. S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy. Long story short, if you want your so called “biblically accurate angels” to be actually biblically accurate, stop thinking about them in terms of “Cosmic Horror” and “Eldritch horrors,” think instead of “Heavenly Wonder;” angels are better archetypally understood as “eldritch wonders,” as their entire purpose is to convey the wonder of God to humanity, which stands totally opposed to the indifference of the cosmic gods in the Lovecraft mythos. They’re fundamentally different worldviews if you get any deeper from the surface than “look, both have lots of eyes!” Thank you for coming to my TED talk, I promise not to say any more hot takes for another year after this.

Bemine-Bucky’s 400 500?!? Follower/Birthday Weekend Sleepover!

Thank you so incredibly much for being a follower of mine. When I started this blog and began writing again, I never expected to have so many people interested in what I post. Some of you have genuinely become such good friends of mine, I’ve found new writers whom I absolutely adore and look up to, and I’ve found something that feels fun to do again.

For this sleepover I simply couldn’t help myself and I decided to make it Vine themed. Some of these work well together and others I made fit for the sake of the things I wanted to do lmao so don’t come for me too hard! Vine was such a power house back in its day, and while there are some very iconic tik toks, I wanted to pay homage to our fallen hero. I’ve linked each vine to its respective emoji, that way if you haven’t heard of the vine or just want a refresher you can enjoy it!

I wasn't going to reply, because what I have to say is a bit charged, and the least thing I want is to make you uncomfortable in your space, but your tags indicated you wanted us to interact so I thought I might as well. I do have to apologise in advance in case of anything, it is really not my intention to upset, but I also feel this needs a reply. I think in retrospect, having read what I wrote back, this might not have even been about reluctance as much as I'm starting to think that post triggered my fight or flight response.

That anon that complained about Yashahime, I can understand the gripe to some extent, and no one ever really said the season is perfect, there were moments in the season that could have been done better, especially partaining to pacing, but especially now when we know there will be more coming, and that what we got is hardly the whole deal, to act like sessrin is reduced to just that first season is ridiculous. Quite frankly even so, their dynamic wasn't impacted at all, they're the same dynamic we all fell in love with, but they're put in a difficult situation... which, sure, ok... but... that's just... storytelling? There needs to be a story... to tell? I'm not sure what exactly people expected honestly.

Maybe not necessarily this case, but most times when I've seen people say that, what they mean is they see Sunrise's portrayal of Rin as a "complacent breeder", which honestly is offensive, false, and also just weird in the context of both the plot and the dynamic, especially if and when you understand it. Or they call Rin useless, apparently that's a thing too now... in any case, it sets some of my alarms off, I think valid critique is most welcome, but the things thay I've seen spewed around here under the guise of "criticism", hardly really qualify as that at all and are said in bad faith.

On a personal note, and this is more why I was reluctant to reply, people who are overly obsessed with fictive characters' ages make me uncomfortable, and dare I say, outright give me the creeps. If you have that much trouble distancing yourself from fiction to the point where you need to know pixel ages down to the last second since their "birth", that you can't even enjoy a character dynamic lest it abides by the bible, that to me is a big red flag, and more often than not people who are so concerned with them are antis/fancops, in other words, abusers. If the person who sent that is who I think they are, then for sure it's a fancop, and when they say "bully", they mean they were called out for harassing artists and spewing terfery, and despite them outright hurting people, and overall being harmful, when that was called into question, rather than hold themselves accountable, they took to fleeing and painting a narrative.

Returning to topic and to the characters' ages business, I'm also suspicious of anyone at all who allocates time to argue about Rin's age any one way or another, because Rin has never even had a canon age as per the original material, and quite frankly it's irrelevant. But I guess that's a hot take, to say that the fake numbers slapped on a fake, nonexistent character, are fake and have no real importance. It just makes me very curious how some are so certain Rin is 16 or younger when there are no sources to be cited either pro or against. Even with assumptions of her age in Inuyasha, which are for the most part a consensus across the whole Inufandom, and subsequent calculations based on Kagome's age and the timeline, most of the time Rin's age results around 17 if you read an analysis done in good faith. The only ones who age her down, and can't even settle on 1 single age for her, since depending on which of them you ask they'll say anything between 12-16... are yet again the fancops. Most people ship things because they enjoy a dynamic, characters' personalities that compliment each other and so forth, it's never about character ages™ or shipping the right™, most realistic™, most morally coherent with our real life views™ thing, and being perfomative and trying to turn it into that has singlehandedly hurt more people, and been the most dangerous turn fandom could have ever taken.

I agree with you. The first season wasn't perfect. it did have it's flaws, but that's what a first season is. It's to set up the characters and the world they live in. I'm not saying next season will be better, but it has room to grow. There is still story left, it's not finished yet.

You are definitely right about this! Rin is in no way a "breeder" or "useless". It's extremely rude to call someone a breeder just because they want/have children. That is very misogynist and reduces women to basically nothing. What's worse is that some of the people who say that are also women so they are saying that themselves and all women are worthless and that is not the case.

Yes, Rin's age was never specified. At the end of the day her age is basically a headcanon. We don't know how old she was when she married Sesshomaru or gave birth to the twins. She could have been 14 or 16 or 17. It was super common back then for people to marry and have kids at a young age. Even today people are having children at that age. But again we don't know how old she was! It shouldn't be a problem and it shouldn't be obsessed over. Just say what you think her age is and go.

Obsessing over a fictional ship/characters isn't healthy. Other than liking sessrin I have responsibilities in the real world. I have a life outside of fandoms that I'm in. I also agree with you, people who obsess over her age or actively showing their hate for a ship makes me super uncomfortable. It's like "okay we get it you don't like sessrin. We don't care as long as you don't harass us just because of lines on a screen." It's nice to like shows and ships but people shouldn't only be contributing to hate. It's unnecessary and a waste of time.

To sum up everything, and to the people who keep spreading hate, here is a quote of my favourite meme: "Calm down son, it's just a drawing."

Two-Shot: I am also confused by this question lmao since the next one is "most popular multi chapter" I am going to answer with my most popular one/two shot. By Ao3 hits/comments/kudos it's Stubborn Love (I am excluding Changes bc it's 3 chapters).

Most popular multi-chapter: using hits/comments/kudos, the winner is Hell of a View, but I gotta give a shout-out to Long Way Down coming in second on comments when there's about 25 people total in that fandom, love you Blake fam, thank you for embracing madam Jean 🥰

Actual worst part of writing: ok I have to agree with you, it's transitions. I am so guilty of starting a scene about ten minutes earlier than it needs to, and trying to walk people through every single step of the character's days, so that's something I'm actively working on, trimming the transition from point a to point b. Also, smut is a close second; I love writing smut. I love having written smut. But it takes me twice as long as anything else and I inevitably end up just grinding out three words at a time, swearing.

How you choose your titles: there is absolutely zero rhyme or reason to my process. Maybe it's a song I liked that day. Maybe it's a popular idiom that suits (I will always be proud of the pun in A Will and a Way). For one shots I tend to use shorter, snappier titles that have some vague bearing on the theme of the piece but sometimes it's a stretch and I'm just trying to put something down so I can post the damn thing.

Do you outline: sometimes, kinda. Some fics don't need an outline, I know where they're going. Sometimes I do bullet point lists of things that need to happen; with Collision Course, for example, timing was vital as we were switching between past and present and they had to match up at certain points, so I had a list of things that I wanted to happen and tweaked it as I went, as necessary. For long fics (I frequently write 30+ chapters) I will also usually have a doc to refer to with birthdays and dates of important events; the doc I made for A Messy Kind of Love is my Blake bible to this day.

Ideas I probably won't get around to but would be nice: ok I don't have any that I don't think I'm gonna write. They all exist in equal possibility, like I'd like to get to all of them eventually. But the ones that'll take the longest to get to are: selkie Jean, Blake beauty and the beast AU, and madam Liv. Actually that's not true I'll probably get to madam Liv before I get to benverse. But I'm a changeable creature.

Best writing habits: routine!!!! This is the answer every time someone asks how I write fics that are so long, or how they go up so fast. There are things we can do to trick our brains into performing, they just need the right environment. Like, in college I only did homework in the library or in a classroom after hours, bc my brain recognized that we were in A Place Designated For Work, and I could stay on task much longer there than in my room, bc my room was A Place To Relax. Carve out a time, or a space, or a series of environmental triggers and recreate them over and over and your brain will learn to focus and write under those conditions. Everybody's life and schedule is different, but if you can find A Place That Is Just For Writing, it will help.

Spicy opinions: I hate first person pov. If a fic starts with "I", I will almost immediately back out of it. It has to be shockingly good for me to read it (I am thinking of the massive Malcolm pov spooks fic). Second person is marginally less unappealing to me but again it has to be really remarkable for me to carry on with it. I don't like fluff fics. Like "the gang goes to the beach and shenanigans ensue!" They are great and they should be written and there are people who wanna read them just not me. And that's fine!! Bc not every fic is for every reader and that's the point; there is such a variety of interests and passions in fandom and there is something for everyone and if you don't like what's in front of you, you close it and go to the next one.

I’m trans! I’ve only just started HRT this year after jumping through a couple hurdles but I’m over half a month in now and I couldn’t be happier with my progress so far! I’m hoping to be even more outwardly feminine in my daily life in 2021 and I’ve already taken a lotta good steps towards that!

I’m a student of mechanical engineering (though I kinda wish I was doing electrical engineering or software engineering bc I’m so much better at that)! My early aspirations for robotic science kinda got birthed into Alex’s interests in-character, and though I definitely retain an interest in it, if not just for writing her character then because robots are fuckin awesome, I dunno if I’ll be able to find a career in it myself... I’ve yet to really figure out what I wanna do with it but I’ll get there someday!

Alright this is a bit of a weird story but listen... I went to this like, catholic private school when I was doing secondary school (high school for you yankees) so we had to have mandatory services in chapel. And, y’know, kids don’t wanna be sat there listening to bible stories for half an hour of their lunch break so our chaplain occasionally spiced things up by bringing shit in. So, one day, he’s telling the story about adam and eve and the snake in the tree, two other kids played adam and eve (they weren’t naked before you ask, why would you think that) and I played... the tree. So I just,, stood there? And then we got to the part where the snake appeared in the tree, at which point the science teacher pulled out this FUCKING BALL PYTHON HE KEPT AND WRAPPED IT OVER MY SHOULDERS. SO,, i just had to stand there and stay calm while this snake was coiling around my neck and everyone else was looking at me all :monkaS: like,,, I got out ok but that’s all I was known for for like a week after that service, god.

Ooosh, I’ve been in the RP scene since, uhh... 2014? 2015? Embarrassingly enough my first few roleplays were in the F/NA/F scene on shamchat and chatzy with a group of friends (which I got to via reddit of all places). After that, I migrated to tumblr and got involved in the scene while re/born/ica’s AU was The Scene in that rpc, eventually my character (it was only Iris at the time, but I eventually brought Alex in too) evolved into fandomless OCs and I stuck around the tumblr rpc for the next few years to come. I also love roleplaying on discord and I’m generally better with activity there and better at organising threads so if y’all wanna move any threads to a private discord server just hmu! Oooh,,, I think my OCs are actually pretty flexible when it comes to this kinda thing. Alex is the poster child of the blog (always has been tbh,,) but I love love LOVE getting interactions with yeong-hui and garis as well!! The theme of this blog is actually about their diverging stories and how they both coped with similar trauma in vastly different ways (highlighting the disparity between their ways of life, their circumstances, and who they are as people). As for the kind of people I prefer to interact with,,, let’s get this straight, I like a bastard character who’s kinda tastefully awful to others but not in a severe way but if your character is just Asshole then like. chances are we won’t get along. I’m also vvv much a fan of chaotic muses, smart muses, and definitely muses with a more compassionate personality bc y’know what? that’s kinda exactly what they need!

FLUFF: Oh yes!!! I love love love both romantic and platonic fluff, just the kind of quality time and gift giving and shit that forges a bond between characters? Good shit, all the time! I love plotted romances so if you have an interest in that don’t hesitate to hit me up bc I’ll definitely do that for you whenever I get the chance

ANGST: OHOHOH... I haven’t actually had the chance to write a lot of angst recently, but both of my characters are BUILT for that shit! I wanna be able to have a plot where just, outbursts happen, trauma gets the better of the muses and they break down and they need comfort, or one of them gets badly hurt or in a bad situation and we’re forced to see how the other one contends with the situation!! I haven’t written that in so so long and I wanna see more of it!!

SMUT: I get it’s not for everyone and I tag all my nsfw on here bc of that (i’ve been thinking of making an nsfw sideblog but idk if there’s any interest,,) but! Writing smut and intimacy between muses is peak shit and I’m ALWAYS down for it!! Both of my muses are down for one night stand stuff as well - although romantic smut is the GOOD good shit always, it’s also really interesting to see how relationships develop as a result of sleeping around and just,,, otherwise casually interacting!

PLOT / MEMES: I find it easier to jump into interactions with a good open starter or an ask meme - I’m actually embarrassingly reliant on ask memes to really get any interaction going one way or the other so I encourage reblogging them and sending some in to me as well!! However! A plotted relationship dynamic is also very very good, I love exploring dynamics like two muses being coworkers/business associates, or roommates or just, someone they met at a bar or something. That’s just for setting the foundation but I also love throwing out ideas for interactions between our muses!! When I get sent a sentence starter meme I always have fun answering them and always look for a thread to sprout from them!!!
