Disclaimer;; this is all fictional!! This is my interpretation of what I believe the ash people would be like and also how Jake would be mourning the loss of two people, while learning to love again.
Summary: After the death of his wife and eldest child, Jake takes his three remaining children and heads to the northern side of Pandora, the isolated territory of the fire clan, the tribe who can bring people back from the dead.
When he meets the princess of the Ash Tribe, he must now choose between opening his heart and letting someone fix him, or to have the opportunity to seek out his two family members he still wishes to see everyday.
Jake felt the stares from the surrounding Na'vis, hand clutching his youngest daughters' as she stayed close to his side. "Dad?" She said looking up at him, her eyes glistening with a worry tint.
"It's okay, just be calm." Jake said as he looked back at his other two kids, both with their hands out to show they meant no threat. Kiri had her mothers lioncloth wrapped around her waist, as Lo'ak had his brothers neck pierce, both bearing a pained expression.
It's been a year since the passing of Ney'tiri and Neteyam; both having been fatally wounded by Quaritch and Lyle who, in return, vanished without a trace, leaving behind the pain of losing two people.
As their feet touched the once grassy area which was now ash and dirt, trees that were once a beautiful color now only branches, but the bioluminescence of the glow worms had made up for the lack of color and light.
Jake forced a smile out, trying to reassure everyone that he meant no harm as he searched through the crowd of people for the man he came to see, Äoa.
As Lo'ak and Kiri both got closer to their father, the stares from the greyish Na'vis making them feel uncomfortable. "I'm scared." Tuk said, her arms wrapping around her fathers forearm as she clung a bit.
Kiri placed a gently hand on her shoulder as she assured her that everything would be fine, having been practicing those words on their long journey over here incase someone would need them.
As it felt like an eternity, a shorter man approached the four with his arms spread out to show he meant no harm as well. It was Äoa. Hanging off his shoulders was the traditional chiefs garb decorated with bones and small wooden arrows, on the shoulders part was large feathers that connected to a wooden structure to keep it up right.
"Äoa was the chief of the Ash people, the skeletor tribe."
"I see you, Äoa." Jake greeted the leader, doing the familiar hand gesture. Äoa returned it before immediately pulling the other into a hug, Jake returned it. He hadn't remembered the last time he was given a hug.
"Jake Sully." Äoa said after releasing the other. He was at least a foot shorter than Jake, but his structure was definitely outweighing everything else. His arms had many markings and tattoos on them, eyes red as crimson blood and his ears were stuck up and pointy, a scar down his left eye. His skin was rough.
"I knew him as a tough leader."
Some of the Ash people had gotten closer now seeing as their chief was almost pleased to the Sullys, but as a path way began to emerge, an older lady appeared as she walked slowly and on alert to see what was happening.
"Although Äoa was known as the sadistic ruler, it wasn't him I was afraid of."
"I see you, Sänume, Tsahik of the Skeletor Tribe." Jake now acknowledged the older women, who in return greeted him back. Jake felt himself ease up as she did, not knowing how the two would feel if he was to ask for Uturu.
"Why do you come to us, Jake Sully?" Äoa said, the question Jake was trying his hardest to avoid a bit longer. The Olo'eyktan and Tsahik both stared at Jake, having been purposefully kept out of the wars and battles to not hear bout Toruk Makto losing his mate during a battle. So, when Sänume noticed the children had no mother present, she felt herself hold onto Äoa forearm.
"We seek Uturu." Jake said after a few moments of hesitation, looking between the two as he didn't want to offend either one when directing an important question.
"Uturu?" Sänume said, her ears twitching in confusion as she gestured to her village and then his youngest. "You do know what we are known for and you wish to expose your children to this?" She said.
Jake did know, he knew the Skeletor Tribe was notorious for bringing people back from the dead and their sacrifices they did for Eywa, being here was the safest option he could think of. If he could, he would've went to Tonowari and Ronal south of Pandora, near the water where the Metkayina reside, but he took a chance here.
"I do, I just want to keep my family safe." He said, picking Tuk up who was gripping at his arm even tighter than before, the exhuastion hitting her from having been flying for over ten days.
As the crowd parted ways once more so the clan leaders children could come forward, the first was a boy who had to at least be two years older than both Lo'ak and Kiri. His face resembling his father with the same scar down his left eye, arms covered in markings and occupied in his hand was a spear. His hair was braided and thrown over his shoulder, a few beads being interweaved throughout it to decorate his hair.
Coming from the opposite side was another boy who had to have been the same age as Lo'ak. He eyed the two behind Jake, both of which who returned the glances back at both of them making one of them smirk in amusement. Kiri kept their gaze. This boy having more beads in his hair than the other and his body having little markings and no scar on his face, he was also accompanied with a spear in his hand as the lower half of it dragged on the floor. If you looked too quickly you would think they were twins.
Just when you think the clan leaders only had two boys, appearing suddenly next to Sänume was (Y/N), her eyes piercing directly at each and every one of them on high alert. Even though their equipment was placed on their banshees from behind, (Y/N) still did a double take just in case.
Her white hair was braided down to her lower back with many pretty beads interwoven at the tips of them, courtesy of the many children of the village who liked to practice different styles on her. The chest piece she wore was a midnight black mixed with a hint of blue covering that was made to look like little branches and vines, that just so faintly and up close, you could see ridges in them, almost looking like she took veins out of someone and placed them on her chest.
The thing that made Kiri and Lo'ak flinch back was the fact all three of the kids had red eyes that looked like blood.
(Y/N) walked closer, but stopped, her eyes having now moved to the older gentleman carrying a young child. Curiosity was killing her, so, being the polite one she was as her parents further discussed the situation at hand, she greeted them. "𝘖𝘦𝘭 𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘪𝘦" She said, her voice almost dripping with a honeyed tone, it made Jake drop his gaze, but quickly compose himself as he did it back. The kids returned the gesture as they felt more comfortable with her than the two boys.
Finally, after deliberation, Äoa turned back motioning with his hand to the small group of villagers who were there. "Toruk Makto is a great war leader," He started off. Jake could only look, already preparing for the worse, tightening his hold on Tuk who could barely stay awake. "He and his family will stay, treat them as our family. Teach them our ways and show them the true Skeletor values." Äoa looked over at male before sticking his hand out to the three children.
"My daughter (Y/N) and sons, Fawn and Ay'u, will show your children what to do." He said after pointing to each one of the kids beside him.
Fawn, who was the eldest, went to object but was immediately stopped by a warning gaze from his father. He groaned in annoyance, but (Y/N) on the other hand couldn't but help but smile as she picked up one of their bags. "Come, I will show you to your new home."
Jake set Tuk down, as he placed a hand on her back. "Now, what do we say?" He said looking at his three kids. Lo'ak let out a soft 'thank you' as Kiri did too, but Tuk being Tuk, she said it out loud causing Sänume to give her a gentle smile.
The four of them followed (Y/N) into the village to start their new life.

yes it has been 10 years for me with sims 4 and here I am recreating my four favorite sims that have put an impact on me ngl- I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE FIRST OF JANUARY TO UPLOAD THEM :D
it’s funny because for me I have THOUSANDS of screenshots and nice memories of them that I never upload in social media, but to yall its new faces n new personalities you ran into, pretty wild.
from here imma go ramble a little about their characters and who they are:
KIM : he is pretty straightforward guy cuz he is LITERALLY the first sim I made in sims 4, he is goofball, bro, and an outgoing guy, he dreamed to be a joke star and I believe he did! its was sooo old, all I remember is that I used to do all the goofy insane stuff with him, he might sometimes dress as a gentleman but he is just a silly guy, he used to have a blonde wife that i dont remember n two kids that i didnt really cared about lmao
LEVI : the only reason I made him is to try out more male cc that I downloaded (that was literally when i started to download good male cc) AND ALSO when the vampire pack released I believe��� yep he is a vampire! but he dies to the sun because i kept spamming the weakness thingy thinking it is a strength- he used to live in san my with his little toddler sister; he is a musician and omg he did have a beautiful voice i could never get tired of him… into guitar mostly and wrote so much songs! with him I was literally just trying so much new stuff since we bought some DLCs, also the toddlers update dropped, vampire, city..etc.
DANTE : he is literally the most sim that had an impact on me, not just to me! also my siblings they all know him n never forgot him, he used to be a sim in a save where I did play with a rich family who live in the city, dante was a loner guy live in a small apartment with his big bro who was literally the most extrovert sim alive- he is an athlete guy and really healthy! dante did pumped into the blonde women from the rich family, they both kinda fell for eachother and became endgame! the women is a future president and she did! miss her :( and dante is just a househusband dreaming to have a simple live BUT what’s funny to me is that he never had a normal live literally all the crazy stuff happen to him lmao, anyway he is into jazz so much- lord I remember spamming the jazz station ALOT while playing with him, he have a puppy & a cat they were iconic, and he lived a long life really, had four kids, had so many grandkids, had so many winter fests, celebrated so many NYEs, to the fact his eldest son died before him crazy… but he was indeed an icon.
THEO : yall this boy… he was literally the first sim that i had who went thro a trauma like i didnt even plan it technically a daddy issues, theo used to have the perfect family; mom, dad, and a baby boy, but his dad became a famous actor, and the more fame he got the more he became a narcissist, he legit didnt care about his love live n only cared about himself; he became arrogant too and in that point is were theo’s parents got divorced and everything got complicated, after the drama he got a new brother an adopted one! theo were close with his bro, but theo grew up getting rebellious, was cutting lots of his hair because it reminded him of his dad, he looked so much like him, when he became a teen the boy dyed his hair all black not kidding he stayed like that forever but in my remake version i wanted to show his real hair hehe, he was into metal genre and yep his favorite color is black too, likes wearing chokers n piercings, he used to be friends with max villareal (love him so much n him n theo were so dang similar) and he was a HARD CORE GAMER yall not kidding he used to play alot in tournaments n always win to the fact he started to become famous like his dad he hated that, theo was mean af he was brutal honest yall dont joke with him, and even tho he was acting like an asshole sometimes but love was his weakness… he become surprisingly quiet. he was like the protector with his loved ones.

i'm so pleased to hear it though! i love her so much, i am slowly but doggedly plugging away at that fic in the precious free time i have and i am looking forward to hopefully one day share her with you and the five other people who are excited to read her story. also it's been a while since i wrote a female protagonist and it's been such a fun and interesting writing process digging into how the gender of it all does or doesn't change things.
anyway! have a little snippet of exposition!! <3
Technically, Quinn met Brady before they were fifteen. The elite hockey world is small, and they played with and against each other at various youth tournaments, but fifteen is when everything really started. Women in the NHL were no longer brand new, although still treated like a novelty — as if that’s ever going to change — but having girls in the national team development program was still in the experimental stages. After all, international competition was still strictly gendered. Someone had convinced the powers that be that if the best girls in the game were legitimately shooting for the NHL now, then it was good for the Americans to at least present the illusion of equal institutional support, the same way Sweden and Finland were doing. Can’t be falling behind the Europeans.
So the program wanted Quinn. Her parents, despite her years on boys’ teams and her tenuous commitment to Michigan, whose D-I hockey team did not historically include girls, had expressed some reservations about sending her off to live in an environment that was 90% teen boys before her sixteenth birthday. They were supportive, yeah, but they kept asking about special accommodations — a phrase that Quinn at fifteen loathed, feeling that it highlighted a difference between her and the boys that she would prefer for everyone to just forget about. But Brady, obviously, was also program-bound, and at a spring tournament in Wisconsin, Quinn’s coach connected Quinn’s parents with Keith and Chantal. Their dads already knew each other from years in the league: Jim behind the bench and in front offices, Keith on the ice. Both families familiar with the other from years of running in the same circles. The Tkachuks, it turned out, had a place in Ann Arbor while their boys were in the program, and they would be happy to let Quinn have the basement apartment, if some guaranteed parental supervision from a take-no-shit NHL veteran would put everyone’s minds at ease.
Brady, tall and gangly with his sweaty curls matted to his head, had watched the adults deliberating for half a minute, then turned to Quinn, stuck his hand out, and said, “Hey, how ya doing? That was a sick goal from the point your last game. Seriously, hell of a shot. I pointed it out to my dad and he was like, well, yeah, Brady, you could do that too if you didn’t have legs like spaghetti noodles. So I guess it’s gonna be leg day every day this summer.”
Quinn, once she had processed all of this, her hand still being shaken, had said, “Uh, yeah, looks like you could really use some work in that department.” Then she winced internally, because, yeah, great first impression on the kid whose parents were brokering her path to the NHL right at that moment. But Brady just laughed.
“So you think you’re gonna come to the program?” he asked.
Quinn nodded at the council of grown-ups. “If they let me, yeah.”
“They’ll let you. You’re too good not to go,” Brady said, so breezily assured that for a moment Quinn forgot why she had doubts. “It’s great. You’ll love it. My brother is there and he loves it. He says it’s not weird at all having girls around. I mean, like, obviously, we’ve got Nicky and Rach on our team right now and they’re great so I didn’t think it would be weird anyway. But Matthew says—” he laughed again, shaking his head “—he says, ‘just remember, you can hit them, but don’t hit on them, and it’ll all be fine.’”
Despite herself, by this point, Quinn was grinning. “Sounds like a pretty good rule.”
“Yeah, he’s a knucklehead, but sometimes he pops out a gem like that,” Brady said.
“Brothers are usually knuckleheads.”
“True. Wait, hey.”
Quinn gave him a sidelong look, one eyebrow raised. He slugged her in the shoulder.
“Quinny, come here a sec,” her mom said, and that’s how Quinn wound up living in Brady Tkachuk’s basement for two years.

okay done with homework time for more avatar oc lore!!!!
- avatar lusa’s name means ‘midnight’. you’ll never guess what time she was born at
- being from the southern water tribe, which has always been a bit more lax on letting women learn waterbending, she did learn how to fight. sort of. mostly defensive moves, though
- she was brought to the northern water tribe to learn healing
- her healing teacher was a woman named panninguaq, the chief’s eldest daughter
- the chief of the tribe also had twin sons, paruk and panuk
- the twins have a different mom. panninguaq’s mother gave birth to her and then was unable to conceive again. the tribe elders insisted the chief take another wife in order to produce a male heir. they rejoiced when she had two
- panuk is close with his older sister, paruk is not. paruk is the eldest by a few minutes, making him the heir. panuk and panninguaq both feel shirked by him, and so their relationship with him is best described as frosty. lol
- paruk is a decent guy though, and does his best to live up to his duties to the tribe. lusa finds this very admirable, hence why she started falling for him
- to learn earthbending, she was sent to ba sing se to live with the royals while she trained
- lusa kinda sucked at bending tbh. she found it really difficult and was also very hard on herself
- prince haoyu, a nonbender, helped her with her overall confidence, and also was always there to take her mind off bending with something intellectual, like reading or pai sho
- and oopsies he fell in love with her too
- lusa headed to the fire nation to learn firebending from the crown princess, nyzah
- hearing about the avatar’s… warm welcome in the other nations, the firelord’s only instruction to his daughter was: don’t fall in love with her
- nyzah, two weeks later: dad i fell in love with the avatar
- anyway lol
- lusa heads off to the eastern air temple to learn airbending. she meets with chesa, who is one of the youngest spiritual gurus the air nation has seen
- chesa sees that crooked avatar grin and knows she’s done for
- they’re all very funny to me
- so yeah that’s how avatar lusa got her politically complicated polycule
- as for the future
- lusa ends up officially marrying 3/4 of her partners
- people are like ‘can she do that?’ ‘i mean she’s the avatar i guess she can do what she wants’
- the only one she doesn’t marry is nyzah, simply due to the fact that nyzah is an only child and therefore must produce an heir for her country
- nyzah marries a very chill fire nation guy who’s a nice person and a good father, and they remain very friendly even if there’s no romantic love between them
- fun fact: asami and mako and bolin’s mothers can both trace their lineage back to firelord nyzah
- nyzah had a son who became the next firelord, and two younger daughters. one daughter is an ancestor of naoki, one daughter is an ancestor of yasuko
- not that this matters at all, or that they’d ever be able to trace their ancestry back that far. this is like ~1000 years before canon
- but it’s fun
- as for paruk and haoyu’s lines
- lusa did have a few kids
- but all were barred from the lines of succession because there was no accurate way to confirm who their father was. and no royalty was gonna put someone on the throne who they weren’t absolutely sure was supposed to be there
- so paruk’s siblings did in fact sort of get to rule, because one of their heirs got the throne after he died. who’s laughing now
- and haoyu had a younger brother whose kid took the throne. he and his brother were closer though, so he wasn’t nearly as bothered lol
overall though they all lived pretty chill and happy lives
so there you have it 👍

What's The Love Story?
A little context of Ancient Greek culture is needed real quick.
In Ancient Greece, women were considered the “property” of their father, eldest brother, or husband. In the case of Melia, her myth says that Apollo kidnapped her - which brings the question of why was she submitted if it’s kidnapping?
Well. Remember the whole “women are property of dad/brother/husband” thing? While reading her myth, it sounds a lot like Melia ran away with Apollo — without her father, Oceanus’s, permission. Meaning, technically Apollo did “kidnap” her, since he didn’t get Oceanus’s “permission” to do so. Melia’s story is like that of Cyrene’s — texts say that Apollo also kidnapped Cyrene, but in reality she eloped with him without her dad’s say-so.
Melia and Apollo were eventually found in Thebes by her brother. When he couldn’t get her back, her brother set fire to Apollo’s temple, and Apollo shot him in response.
Melia also became a major cult figure in Thebes! And he basically made her one of The Most Important Deities in Thebes!

Apollo malewifed her just like he malewifed Cyrene :)
Kids?
One for sure! Tenerus was a hero of Thebes and a prophet. Other accounts also list Ismenus (a river god) as her and Apollo’s son, but others also list him as another brother of hers so… *shrugs* who knows?

What's The Love Story?
Terpsichore is one of the Nine Muses, and all of them have dated Apollo at one point - as a matter of fact, they probably all still are :D She and Apollo probably dance together a lot and learn new dances as they pop up!

I may have forgotten some information that is canon in the anime

- The Saiki’s have a loving mother and father, albeit a chaotic ass household
Kusuo picked up his sweet tooth from Kuniharu most definitely
Kusuke has one too he’s better at hiding it
Kusuke isn’t quite aware of it but he got into building because he was helping his dad build gundam figures when he was younger before he got obsessed trying to beat Kusuo
The parents are a bit dense but they love their children unconditionally. Kurumi (mom) probably isn’t even aware that her eldest son is incestual fuck or because Kusuo never said anything about it because he always seemed to have a handle on it
Kurumi dug herself into bit of a hole when Kuriko pulled up to pick up their mom
Kurumi lied and said that Kusuo and Kuriko were twins
- Shun’s mother is strict and the father is there but unknown and it’s mentioned at some point that they travel a lot or at least busy with work
I like to think Shun’s mom is a total tsundere to her husband while the dad is happy and easygoing. She always gets angry and blushy whenever the husband compliments them or stares a little too long with a loving look in the eyes
Shun’s mom has heat seeking slippers
The dad tries to be there as often as possible for his kids despite his travels. He always makes sure to spend an hour on FaceTime during important events he can’t be in person
The dad has the spikey blue hair similar to Shun but he keeps it combed down save for the annoying cowlicks
Mrs. Kaidou is pushy on her children with academics because she doesn’t want to them to slack behind like she did in college
Shun came out to his dad first
Kaidou’s dad is fascinated with ferries and often takes them for work so whenever he has time off, he likes to take the kids on ferries he’s members for (let’s just say that exists). Shun and Toki love exploring ferries but they easily get seasick
The dad is one of those silent Japanese vloggers. He started his vlogging when Shun was just 5 and came crying to his dad about how long he’s always away. He uploaded them so Shun can know and see how his dad’s long travels are going. He uses English subtitles so his son can practice his foreign language young “in case he runs into troublesome tourists”
He just kinda so happened to grow a following but he only keeps uploading with his children in mind. He blogs the hotels and dinners he has and tries to edit upload them the next day so it’s “still fresh”
Shun still watches his dad’s vlogs as 16-17 yr old
- Saiko has his dad but I like to think that dude makes terrible choices in women and has like a sugar baby. Saiko is very against the idea of this woman who’s half his dad’s age being called his new mom
“HOW CAN SOMEONE DATE WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE?! I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE!!” “Maybe they like him for their personality?” “Sure! Yeah! The personality of ‘The rich are better than than poor’”
Metori sees his nanny and butlers more as parental figures
Metori’s hair is not natural. It’s dyed
He also doesn’t know anything about his mom other than she was most likely just another lady that came Mr. Saiko bedded on some drunk night
- Teruhashi’s parents are also unknown but I like to think they’re just as famous and are just constantly traveling. What neglectful ass parents (especially when they’re son is trying to commit incest)
The dad’s probably like some CEO while the mom’s a supermodel or maybe an actor
They too have stunning auras but can turn it on and off for their own convenience
Both their hairs were turned blue when Saiki changed the world (alongside the children). The dad’s probably foxy and like mid 40 while the mom is like 35. They met late
- I like to think Toritsuka is an orphan who was adopted by a monk from their brother who didn’t want them
Not much to say about the monks. They tried their best …
They loved him unconditionally and still do care for him but they vocally detest his perverted manners
Toritsuka has many dads (not in the gay way) but one specific monk who will be number one dad to him that he goes to when stressed about life problems (not the girl kind)
The monk always intimate the hug with Reita because he’s became a little too paranoid that some people might be ghosts and he doesn’t want to deal with that crushing realization again like his grandma and grandpa. “You’re real…” “it’s alright Reita. I’m here with you my boy”
- Akechi also comes from a loving but divorced home, albeit one that’s on the quiet side so he chatters off to make up for it since his family doesn’t talk often
I like to think, one of his parents is near-deaf and can barely hear their son but they nod along anyway
They’re all probably into puzzles
One parent is a historian consultant while the other works in a forensic lab
He probably has an older sister that’s already an adult
Even though they’re divorced, the parents decided to keep living together since it was easier than splitting up (money wise). They own a home and one small bare minimum apartment for when the other needs time away

Sure they made mistakes like not stopping Aren from becoming a gang member but they’re doing their best to adjust to a “goody goody” life
It’s more funny thinking Aren’s mom is short cute woman who always wears a pleasant look on her face but turns into a demon when threatened or approached wrong. She’s scarier than Aren’s dad. Both son and dad are scared at that side of her and are quick to deep bow and apologize

The mom is most definitely the one with the purple hair. Probably a soft lilac that’s in a bob that covers one eye in a cute fashion

Rean (the dad) and the mom probably met at a gang war and they began fighting. It was a harsh start but they were both evenly matched with the mom having the slight advantage due to her speed and size but Rean had incredible reflexes

The dad is the one who cooks the most and taught Aren to cook also in case they were ever late home
- We already know Nendou Midori had a kid young with Riki’s father (Takeuchi Riki) and then married then divorced Chouno (Nakanishi Kouta) at some point

Chouno is still a magician but he settles for doing small party gigs when he can between his big acts

- I kinda want Hairo’s family life to reflect Nendou’s by only having a single father
His mom probably died when he was 7-8, just enough time to impart wisdom and instill the dedication we see in Hairo now
The mom was loving and extremely active until they got too sick and tired easily. She was probably a tennis player
I can see the mom being an Olympic athlete in Women’s tennis on top of other normal tennis tournaments
His dad never bothered to remarry after her death. Hairo had attempted to get his dad back into dating with his usual shouting and cheering at 13 and they went along with it before they couldn’t anymore and sat Hairo down and told them he was just fine being a widow. His wife lived on through Kineshi and just watching him grow up into the kid she wanted him to be is enough for him
Mr. Hairo is a soft spoken introverted man while his wife was the boisterous one that dragged him around to sports events
Mr. Hairo is probably some big league coach guy
He encourages Kineshi to express his words and not be afraid to show what other guys might call “womanly” emotions

i have written one (1) email and i am ready to party!!! (It was not the email I was supposed to write but I had to admit that I am too braindead for tasks.) Anyway these are GREAT questions!!
For TV, Shoresy gave me catastrophic "little guys triumphing through the power of LOVE and CHAOS" feelings" - it's a Canadian tv show about a minor league hockey team that had exactly one season BUT I think they just got picked up for a second season. It has such a big heart even while it's making some of the raunchiest jokes I've ever heard. For podcasts, I have gone on record many time about how Tunnel Talk, a podcast about AEW wrestling, has my balls in an absolute vice and I wish for them to never let go. I love so many things about it but one of the things that makes it my favorite is I know shit all about wrestling, so I can't get mad at the women on the pod. Like if I listen to a baseball or hockey pod, I know enough to get mad at the hosts when I don't agree. But me and wrestling, my brain is smooth, so those ladies could say "it's ok for the Jackson brothers to commit war crimes and they SHOULDN'T get tried in the Hague" and I'd be like fuck these women are SO smart. I love them so much...
I think being a season ticket holder for a minor league team has very badly damaged me, psychologically. I think we're about to head into Nick Cicek Watch Year Three, so maybe him. Love an 23yo eldest daughter from Manitoba who is doomed by the narrative (an undrafted overager on an entry level contract with the Sharks.) He's not even the step-dad who stepped up, all our vets just fuckin abandoned him to raise a team of 20yos on his own because they value their careers and their physical health more than our deeply annoying 20yos, so like. Trifling and Realism
Jane Austen has been long praised for realism and the deep psychology of her characters, but when it comes to her villains, a lot of people throw out terms like narcissist. Many even claim that the male villains especially are incapable of love, which I find highly unlikely. If Jane Austen was realistic, I doubt she’d have multiple narcissist characters over six novels, since the estimated prevalence of that personality disorder is at most 5% in the general population.
So why do Henry Crawford, John Willoughby, and Frederick Tilney all trifle with women? Isn’t that disordered behaviour? I would say no. These men have some big things in common, they are eldest sons, they are set to (or have) inherited massive incomes/estates, and they are bored. They trifle with women because it’s stimulating and they don’t have real jobs (I know Tilney is in the army but he’s probably in a very cushy position, General Tilney isn’t going to risk his eldest son in real battle and his brother says he would suppress riots in London, he’s home front).
I thought Henry Crawford especially was very strange until I read Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë. That novel contains a female trifler. She flirts purposefully with the rector of the parish, a vain, young man (think Mr. Elton from Emma), until he proposes. Then she tells him it was all in his head and she’d never love someone so far beneath her. It was sport, she was bored, and she knew she would marry soon. It stoked her ego and she liked to bring him down a peg.
Same with these men. They have a job, technically (which Knightley actually does) but it's optional. Their steward and bailiff will do the work for them if they so choose. They all are expected to marry, if only to produce heirs, but they aren’t allowed to date in a modern sense so the whole marriage thing is one and done. It is more fun to have these flirtations, raise expectations, and then leave. And society doesn’t really seem to punish them for it very much.
Even today, there are people who think it’s somehow okay to ask out members of the opposite sex as a prank. I think this mainly happens among younger people, I experienced it myself in middle school. The guy actually told me and apologized. He was not mentally deranged, he just got caught up with some stupid friends and thought it would be funny. Luckily his good feelings carried the day. I can see people like Captain Tilney never facing any real consequences for their actions and not catching better feelings. We see Tom Bertram gamble away half his brother’s inheritance and his dad is like, “Be ashamed!” before he runs off to another horse race.
I think it’s very important to remember that Jane Austen does paint very real people, but almost all of her characters are also the modern equivalent of trust fund kids and they have grown up very spoiled, which in many of them has brought out their worst side.

For me it’s because I do keep a lot of stuff vague and I actually don’t talk about myself in public. You’d know me since my name is out there but most don’t connect it with my family. My dad’s worthless and his last name doesn’t match mine or most of my half-siblings.
It’s really surprising what changing out of your uniform does at times. People just don’t recognize you. So me sitting here behind a screen is just another version of that. I know not a lot of people believe I’m a hero but I don’t mind.

What made you cut your parent off?

I’ve been very open about this numerous times but my dad is a dick. He’s a populationist, homophobic and generally a jackass. I’m his eldest child and he’s had six/seven more with four other women after my mom. (My latest stepmother is pregnant. Me and the siblings I talk to are betting on WHEN she’s gonna divorce him.) he dislikes me for being intersex and infertile due to it, and has never made it secret. I was raised by him since I was around four. I went between two stepmoms and then stayed with the first when he left Japan. I barely had contact with him.
I’m a hero and he loves using that to look good. His fifth wife tried to call me up and I basically ripped apart her worldview of him. She divorced him after that and speaking to my sister and my third stepmom. I’m nice enough just to say: I don’t get along to his business partners. But my dad knew not to push after his that.
I fully cut him off and threatened to tell his business partners everything when he cut child support in half for my brother. Why? My brother is bisexual. I actually threatened to do it unless the child support went back up anyway. He did and we haven’t spoken since.

SecretNotebook; a proclaimed hero who is just branching out as his own hero after YEARS of being a sidekick. He often is on Reddit giving hints and tips to hero hopefuls while sharing stories of some more vague events. He is open about a lot. Along wth him we have his two siblings: PolkaDotAfro and GreenMightBoy. PolkaDotAfro is a proclaimed circus performer and is married to the Reddit user BlueScars who rarely posts but appears from time to time. GreenMightBoy is a young teen who posts analysis and also taunts his brother along with their sister…

This is a story for a bigger universe I have where Izuku's dad was a piece of work and he had a lot of kids. The eldest of these kids is Kamui Woods (SecretNotebook). I didn't want to do a traditional intro to this world and instead came up with this. We have OTHER siblings to, so far an OC named Hana/Hannah (PolkaDotAfro). Izuku (GreenMightBoy) thus has a vastly different upbringing.
We have other characters appearing to, a lot being related to heroes in someway. Some may be easily guessed, others less so. Have fun guessing if you want!

Meet the Lungs: TVB’s Very Own Roy Family
I’m not sure how many people watch both Succession and Come Home Love: Lo and Behold, but I wanted to write about the similarities between the Roy family and the Lung family on the respective shows. In fact, I’ve made 4 parody trailers featuring clips from Lo and Behold paired with the audio from Succession trailers, and they fit pretty damn well. (See below)

At first glance, it is pretty easy to spot the striking similarities between the two families. The Roys have Waystar Royco, the fictional American media conglomerate powerhouse, while the Lungs have Zip Lung, a company that started out as the Wai Lung Department Store, and now has ventures in practically every industry. Both companies are spearheaded by the paternal figure, Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and Lung Kam Wai (Law Lok Lam) respectively. Even their family names are meant to reflect power — Roy, deriving from “Roi” meaning “King”, and Lung, meaning Dragon, the symbol of imperial power in Chinese culture.
While the Roy children and the Lung children aren’t exact equivalents of each other in terms of birth order, the core three (if you don’t count the Connor Roy (Alan Ruck), who has a different mother than the other Roy kids)— Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Siobhan aka “Shiv” (Sarah Snook) can be compared to Max (Hoffman Cheng), King Fung aka “Fung Siu” (Andrew Chan), and Linda (Mandy Lam). There is also the difference wherein the Lung siblings have different mothers, and therefore come from competing “Chambers”, but the comparison still stands nonetheless. They also have similar characteristics as the narcissistic and power-hungry son who desperately wants to inherit his father’s position at the company, but in reality, lacks the skill underneath. Roman may not actually be the youngest sibling, but he exudes the energy of the youngest child. He is the comedic relief with a lack of interest in taking over the company compared to the other siblings, and is actually suffering beneath the jokes and happy go lucky attitude, just like Fung Siu. Lastly, although Shiv isn’t the eldest daughter like Linda, being a woman with great leadership qualities yet the only daughter in the men’s business makes them both targets of misogyny. Both fathers also have a history of treating their wives (plural) and women in their lives poorly. Though Linda has a younger sister Vivian (Katherine Ho), she’s both written out of the show and was never interested in the family business. All three children in both shows crave their father’s approval and validation more than anything, due to the lack of love received from him growing up. In both cases, their father loved the company more than they loved them, which is why they want to become CEO so badly.

Shiv and Logan’s relationship reminds me of Linda and her dad, though perhaps there is more genuine love between the latter due to the nature of the sitcom. Still, every time I watch a scene in Succession where Shiv feels powerless as she seeks attention from her dad, or gets ignored or belittled as the only woman in the room, I can’t help but be reminded of Linda. Both Shiv and Linda have to fight their way to the top, to prove that they are just as, if not more capable than their brothers. Linda and her husband Sung Shui Fai (Jack Hui) aren’t exactly the “fail marriage” trope like Shiv and Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfayden), but there are still some similarities especially early on in the relationship. Tom and Fai both come from lower status backgrounds, and marry into a powerful and rich family, where their wives have more success than them (at least in the beginning for Tom). Both men are frequently seen as accessories of their wives rather than their own person. Fai dips into his darker side briefly, but ultimately Fai and Linda’s genuine love is far less toxic than what Tom and Shiv have going on. Fai would do anything for approval from Linda’s father, but his goal is to be accepted into the family so he can marry Linda, not so he can gain the position of CEO. On the other hand, Shiv had a career in politics and initially didn’t want to get into the family business, whereas Linda was vying for a leading position at Zip Lung since birth. In the final season, Shiv also feels trapped in her unexpected role as a mother, something that she did not ask for. There, Shiv being reduced to a daughter, a wife, and now a mother, is the show’s way of showcasing the misogyny against her. The lighthearted sitcom is different, portraying Linda as a caring and willing stepmother to Fai’s young son Philip (Dylan Leung).
Succession asks the question of whether the cycle of generational trauma and toxicity can be broken. Even after Logan’s death, the siblings are still haunted by his looming presence, afraid that he’s still upset with them for every move they make. They’re so afraid of becoming their father, whether as a leader or as a parent. In the end of Succession, Tom becomes CEO of Waystar, and Shiv is merely the one next to him. Linda always assumes that her chances of being successor to Zip Lung are slim due to her gender, because her father has always favoured sons over daughters. While Lo and Behold hasn’t reached that point in the storyline (yet), there’s no telling what may happen to the future of Zip Lung. Fai may be the Head of the Restaurants department, but I could not see him leading Zip Lung. Of course, there is no telling what will happen and I guess we will have to wait and see…

“Dad,” Edgar’s voice was unusually soft considering how he traditionally could be heard across palace rooms; the fourth of the Dojima children looked uncertain or upset, which was also not commonplace for such a bright, excitable kid.
Perhaps kid was no longer the right description for him either - his age had recently gone above two digits, and his presence at the balls organized at court more frequent. And despite Edgar’s obvious enthusiasm to meet new people and at the idea of finding a romantic partner, he somehow seemed to feel at a loss for how to behave or strike conversation with the ladies.
There was a clear preference towards his older brother (who, to make things even more annoying, looked like he would rather flee Solaris than deal with the idea of courtship). Perhaps it was precisely due to that behavior trait from Kazuya that made Edgar seek his own father for counsel rather than someone of closer age range - and well, even if his progenitor’s hair had began to go silver in a reminder of the Prince Consort’s age, there were still whispers around within royal halls about his striking looks.
“I wanted to ask you about women,” Edgar said with frankness, as expected of him. “Do you think there is a certain way one must look to find a loving companion?” the boy said with a rather sad look in his eyes, examining his father closely, “You and Kazuya did not seem to have any trouble, so I have to wonder.”

Daigo stood in front of the mirror. He lowered his hands into the basin of warmed water on the stand before it and splashed his face. The Prince Consort untied the cloth from his wrist, closed his eyes, and pressed it to his features. As he stood there, his great shoulders relaxed. Daigo failed to notice one of his younger sons approach the doorway to the washroom while he enjoyed a moment of peace.
Edgar leaned against the stone, waiting patiently for his father to pick his head up ; he was afraid that he might startle the ruler if he spoke. This afforded him the chance to look at Daigo critically, though. The man before him may have been older now ( as the color of his hair and softened core suggested ), but he still cut quite the imposing figure. Edgar wondered if it was his size that women seemed to favor ― both Daigo and Kazuya stood well above their Solarian peers and were naturally inclined to build muscular bodies very easily. Daigo had worked harder on the latter aspect than his eldest son ; however, the fact remained that it was more difficult for Edgar to mirror that than Kazuya.
Or was it . . . the allure of the Koutetsujima look, which Kazuya also shared with their father. Of all of the Solarian royal heirs, Kazuya appeared the most like he was born of pure Koutetsujima roots. Osamu was somewhere in between his parents ; Edgar favored his Solarian heritage the most.
Daigo lowered the scrap of fabric then, and his son scrambled to stand straight. The movement caught the Prince Consort’s attention. His gleaming back eyes, as sharp as ever, turned immediately to Edgar. Their intensity stole the breath right from the young man’s throat. ( or was it those, he asked himself, whose color felt unrivaled even by Kazuya’s decent imitation. )
Edgar asked his questions with a tone that made his father frown. Daigo knew well that his son was normally far more exuberant and frankly louder, so this subject must have meant a lot to him. The Prince Consort reached for his discarded robe as Edgar spoke. He slipped it on to cover his ink, tied the soft garment, and released his hair from its sloppy knot.
Daigo gestured for his son to follow him into the sitting area that accompanied the royal suite. The Prince poured a glass of whiskey, one of the rarest liquors available in the three countries due to its temperament, and offered Edgar his own vessel with a few mouthfuls in the hopes that it would soothe the boy’s nerves. He accepted it with a measure of muted excitement. Such a rare treat was almost enough to perk up Edgar’s mood. That it didn’t raise his spirits entirely confirmed to Daigo that their topic of conversation was weighing heavy on him.
The Prince Consort sat stiffly on the sofa and silently invited Edgar to take the near chair. “I am afraid that I will disappoint you with my answer,” Daigo began. His accent was thick in spite of his time spent in Solaris ; he still used his native language enough that it lingered. “There is no secret for wooing women, Edgar. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is a fool. All you need for a successful courtship is mutual interest and no small amount of courage.”
Edgar’s expression dropped. He swallowed what he dared of the burning liquid clasped in his hands. At least he could blame the tears prickling along his lashes on that. Under normal circumstances, he would not dare rebuke his father, but this felt too important not to make his point.
“ ― but you and Kazuya get so much attention . . . and you two are ― ” Edgar took another hasty drink and stifled the resulting cough.
“Look similar?” Daigo finished. He drank from his glass slowly. “I think what you mean, son, is that Kazuya and I are different, which some may find attractive.”
Edgar flinched. “I don’t intend for it to sound negative,” he countered quietly.
The Prince Consort chuckled. “I know, Edgar.” He sighed. “You are right : your brother and I do receive a lot of attention because of our appearance. For the most part, it is favorable. There are not a lot of men from my home who have felt comfortable establishing themselves here in court. I stand out. Your brother, being that he resembles me, does as well. Of course, this is not always a comfortable place to be. It comes with its negative aspects, and I have talked with Kazuya with length about managing his emotions in those instances.”
Daigo swirled the amber - colored alcohol he held absently. “Public taste is fickle, Edgar, and your brother has not had it as easy as you think. Sure, he may have received a good deal of interest over the years, but how many of those women truly cared? Kazuya all but swore off finding a genuine companion for a long time because he was sick of being treated like an exotic dessert that just came to Solaris. Perhaps, that is why he chose to look for love in Koutetsujima, where his appearance meant nothing beyond the word handsome.”
He set his whiskey to the side and leaned forward. “All of this, my son, is to say that comparing yourself to Kazuya and I while chasing women is a bitter endeavor. Our situation is not nearly as wonderous as your brother has maybe allowed you to see, and you are placing an impossible weight on your shoulders.” Daigo smiled. “You are an attractive man, Edgar. I wish you would embrace that. Your mother and I have said many a time that any woman would be fortunate to have you for a suitor.”
Edgar glanced up and swallowed past the lump in his throat with difficulty. These were hard lessons for him, but they were ones that he needed to hear. Putting himself in Kazuya’s shadow had indeed crippled his bright spirit ( as his father correctly guessed ) and removed his confidence in the pursuit of love. Suddenly, Edgar gripped his cup a little too tight. The brittle glass splintered in his fingers and sliced his flesh. He yelped.
Daigo sprang to action. His coarse hand snatched Edgar’s before his son could tuck it away and gripped it firmly. As swiftly as possible, he plucked the worst of the shards from Edgar’s cuts and poured the remainder of his whiskey over them. Edgar clenched his teeth. His father removed his robe without a second thought, tore it into generous pieces, and wound the largest around the superficial injuries. They would bleed for a while but wouldn’t scar.
“Hey, Dad?” Edgar asked weakly.
Daigo angled the boy’s hand up and maintained his hold on it. His free fingers brushed the remaining glass out of Edgar’s lap. “Yes, son?” he replied.
“Thank you,” the young man said sincerely. The depth of emotion in his voice suggested that his gratitude extended beyond his father’s crude dressing ( a leftover instinct from the battlefield ).
The Prince Consort paused. His gaze met Edgar’s and softened considerably. “I promised when you were little that I would always listen, did I not?” Daigo squeezed his son’s knee. “I have never broken my word in my life, Edgar.”

What's The Love Story?
A little context of Ancient Greek culture is needed real quick.
In Ancient Greece, women were considered the “property” of their father, eldest brother, or husband. In the case of Melia, her myth says that Apollo kidnapped her - which brings the question of why was she submitted if it’s kidnapping?
Well. Remember the whole “women are property of dad/brother/husband” thing? While reading her myth, it sounds a lot like Melia ran away with Apollo — without her father, Oceanus’s, permission. Meaning, technically Apollo did “kidnap” her, since he didn’t get Oceanus’s “permission” to do so. Melia’s story is like that of Cyrene’s — texts say that Apollo also kidnapped Cyrene, but in reality she eloped with him without her dad’s say-so.
Melia and Apollo were eventually found in Thebes by her brother. When he couldn’t get her back, her brother set fire to Apollo’s temple, and Apollo shot him in response.
Melia also became a major cult figure in Thebes! And he basically made her one of The Most Important Deities in Thebes!
Why Should They Win?
Apollo malewifed her just like he malewifed Cyrene :)
Kids?
One for sure! Tenerus was a hero of Thebes and a prophet. Other accounts also list Ismenus (a river god) as her and Apollo’s son, but others also list him as another brother of hers so… *shrugs* who knows?
Branchus
What's The Love Story?
Apollo disguised himself as a goatherd one day soon after killing Python and Branchus came across him, fell instantly in love with the beautiful shepherd, and kissed him. Apollo was just as enamored with Branchus as he was with him and granted him prophetic abilities, as well as a crown and magical staff!!
Going back some years to Branchus's birth, you could say that his mom received a vision of his future as a lover of Apollo - she dreamt that a glowing sun went into her mouth and through her stomach.
Also, since Apollo met Branchus soon after killing Python, he's probably Apollo's first lover EVER! Which is SO COOL APOLLO'S FIRST LOVE WAS A SHEPHERD BOY THE BISEXUALITY IS REAL
also also, an altar was built on the place where Branchus kissed Apollo <3 true love <3 and prophecies from Branchus were second only to Delphi itself, so Branchus got some STAR TREATMENT
