This is for that one ask talking about if we met Friend after childhood or highschool and such and Friend started falling in love with us...

I feel like the song Don't You Dare (Make Me Fall In Love With You) fits the situation perfectly lol!

Like Friend a very closed off man, meeting a sweetheart who's just the incarnate of overbearing happiness and warmth. Constantly greeting him good morning, asking him if he's okay that day, or how he's been. Maybe buying him a sugar-filled frappe once or twice or noticing his love for sweets and getting him some candy.

Just slowly inching their way into his life, as he tries to put up wall after wall. Each ultimately crumbling down under sweethearts' affection and attention.

But then maybe after a while of trying to be friends with Friend, he blows up at them, unable to understand what he's feeling and to afraid of being let down (like how his parents let him and his siblings down), and feeling like pushing away sweetheart will get rid of all these confusing and frustrating changes going through him.

But it only makes it worse.

He regrets blowing up at them, hoping they'll scratch it up to him having a bad day and come back to comfort him. Come back to shower him with affection and soft apologies.

But they don't.

They get the hint, and while sad they can't befriend, Friend, they know they might've been a bit too much, and give Friend space.

Maybe if they're a bit shyer they avoid him completely, feeling guilty they caused him to feel that way.

And it drives him insane.

Why won't they come back? He knows he deserves it, but, how can they just leave him like that?

And with all these emotions stirring up inside, the longing, the guilt, the anger, the confusion.

And with you trying to distance yourself from him?

Well he might just not have any other choice than to kidnap you invite you over, ...right?
