John and Dutch's relationship has me sobbing on a good day and having a full on mental breakdown on a bad one. If Arthur is like Hosea, then John is like Dutch; authority issues, conflicting emotions, false bravado, and all. If John seeing Dutch in rdr2, "broke his heart," I don't even wanna imagine what he was going through during and after THAT scene in the first game. It's clear, and literally stated by John himself, how much he loves Dutch, and how conflicted his feelings are toward him. The thought of John finding out that Dutch, the only father figure he has left alive, the man who saved him from hanging and gave him a family at the age of 12, was gonna leave him die in prison, and then later on the train...it...I'm so normal about this; it's fine.

Don’t get me wrong I hate Dutch as much as the next person, but NO ONE can deny he doesn’t have charm. He’s so amazingly written it makes me go insane.

Okay, hear me out: lestappen double interview, but make it a ✨language challenge✨ where Max has to teach Charles some Dutch. It will be the funniest shit ever!

It’s starting off well with some basic words and phrases. Max is super entertained by the way Charles pronounces every single one of them terribly wrong, but he does sound really cute and at least he‘s trying his best to say it like Max.

Of course the words and phrases become more difficult the further into the challenge they get and there are also some silly sentences like that included. So when Max sees the silly stuff he has to teach Charles, he can‘t help but burst out into his typical laughter, giggling like a little child while his eyes crinkle, because he knows he has to say and explain that shit to Charles. And Charles repeats it all with the worst accent possible. Of course Charles has no idea what he‘s saying which makes it even funnier.

They really enjoy the challenge and Max has a lot of fun teaching Charles stuff like “neuken in de keuken“ or “ik hou van je“ and so on. And in the end, when Max tells Charles what kind of stuff he just said (“fucking in the kitchen“ and “I love you“), they both blush instantly and it‘s all very awkward and super cute at the same time.

I can see my 10yr old self back in 2010 would be mortified because it ain't John Marston 😆 I did pay the price of wishing to be like him tho 🥲 (full of scars, doubt and I still can't swim) if only my younger self would understand who John really was before I wish to be this "cool badass hot ass cowboy" when I grow up 😩😆
