Fergus nods excitedly and the dinner party disperses.
Happy very cloudy Halloween! The Pancakes decide not to have a party since they had one last night and Bob will need to work tonight. After a quick breakfast the household splits up as everyone has their own tasks to do this morning.
Bob of course wants to get his work out in before shift. Fergus is in a patch of hyper focus with his ADHD and decides to play mad scientist in the treehouse. Eliza decides to do a dance workout since she cleaned everything yesterday and finally Onyx is set to walk Ginger again.
Eliza is dancing away when she pulls a muscle in her back.
Eliza: Ouch! Oh, maybe an adoption is a good idea, I will be a 40 soon
Thinking on this she carries on, working on her other muscles. Outside it’s hard for Onyx and Ginger to make out where they’re running but the pair do their best. Ginger isn’t sure why her dad isn’t taking her for these jogs but supposes Onyx is an alright substitute.
Onyx: I’m back home dad, Ginger is all walked
Bob: *grunts with effort* Did you tell your mother
Onyx: No, she’s busy practicing speech and I didn’t want to disturb her
Bob: Smart choice
Onyx begins their cheer routine, they still have some more solo practice to fit in. All is going well until they fall over on their face. They push up looking around but Bob is busy working his legs and hasn’t noticed. To celebrate Onyx pulls off a perfect flip!

Seven(ish) Sentence Sunday ✍️

Have a little something from LA Lonely -> this is after the fun and orgasms of Buck and Eddie’s hook up. Still don’t know if I’m going to go full spice 🌶️ or just do a quick little run down of things.

Buck expects him to start pulling his clothes on and to give him the whole “this was fun, but I gotta bounce” speel, but Eddie surprises him by climbing back into bed and nudging Buck to roll onto his side so Eddie can scoot up behind him and hold him.
Buck freezes for a moment because no one does this. They have their fun and then they leave. They don’t stay and they definitely don’t cuddle.
Eddie must feel him go tense because his hold loosens and he moves as if he’s about to pull away. “Is this okay?”
Buck grabs at the arms that are wrapped around him, stopping Eddie’s descent. “Y-yeah. It’s-it’s okay.” He pulls at Eddie’s arms and the man settles back behind him, burrowing his face into the juncture where Buck’s neck meets his shoulder as he shuffles closer.
Soft kisses are pressed into his skin and Buck is helpless but to relax back into Eddie, letting the comfort and warmth of whatever is happening wrap around him.
“Stay?” He whispers, not sure if Eddie can hear him but not being brave enough to say it any louder. He feels like he’s asking too much.
A kiss behind his ear. “Okay.”

I finished all 4 Studio Investigraves games and I have opinions. (Spoilers to all the games by the way but you already know that)
I played them all backwards from the most recent to least recent by complete accident hence why I shall be reviewing them from least recent to most recent. I'll be judging them based off gameplay, characters and story. Of course don't take this too seriously it's my general opinion and I wouldn't mind hearing other people's personal tier list about which game was their favourite. My interpretation of the characters can of course vary from others opinions as well so keep that in mind.
4. Eloquent Countenance
Gameplay: the gameplay in this one wasn't actually bad, I quite liked doing the different tasks however with that being said, I also got lost multiple times about what I was supposed to do (I think i'm to blame for this once honestly because it was spelled out for me). Overall I still liked it but again I had issues. I did however adore the mix of 3d modelling and 2d models.
Story: The story isn't bad, if anything it leaves room for so many things. The explanation to the end did confuse me though because I couldn't tell if Forcas was talking to the woman trapped in the body or if he was talking to the angel that had taken over the body. And also why did us the angel decide that we did want to give the body back to her? Again a lot of questions that I think can be expanded on if they ever to second game. (I think this is mostly me wanting a second game so badly lol)
Characters: Our character Lisa is alright, I have no grievances with her, she's funny and sarcastic as hell and honestly my favourite. Forcas on the other hand... I like his shenanigans, but there is only so much fourth wall breaking one can take before it isn't very special, I guess? The way he speaks is like how I would write an overpowered annoying know-it-all character when I was 13. So yea not my favourite. I do love their characters designs though, absolutely gorgeous in my opinion.
3. Cold Front
Gameplay: I had no problem with the gameplay, except maybe when I was running from the monster, that was the only hard part. This was a shorter game so there wasn't too much gameplay and coming down to the end I was honestly a little annoyed that we'd basically ceased gameplay and had started basically just started reading out the rest of the story. I wish there was a boss fight to the end, a little something something to really close it off would've been nice.
Story: It was heartwarming (ironic). I can not express it enough that I really love how well done the story is, both endings really got me. One was a happy ending technically with only Augustine living and it was so dark that he was happy to finally feel seen again once Winnie was dead. Winnie had no idea that he was breaking a lot of Augustine's boundaries but at the same time, these two just needed some communication and they were fine in the end which was perfectly okay with me. They both reflected and became better people together.
Characters: No notes, they were good. I loved the fucked up anxiety version of Augustine and Winnie, it really shows how anxiety is and how overthinking and keeping everything in can really harm a friendship.
2. Dead Plate
Gameplay: There is so much that needs to be talked about with the gameplay. First of all, our character Rody, does not have a side and back angle so that you can tell which way you're facing, which messed me up a lot when I tried to serve tables. When I first booted up the game it took me way too long to figure out the what to do in the tutorial (This one might be on me tbh so I won't be too mean to the game about it). The various customers did not make any facial expressions as to help indicate to the players their level of annoyance going from good-> annoyed-> angry-> leaving. I really wished they had that, even if it weren't a face at least some sounds would've been nice.
Story: I adored the story, it's fucked up, it's nice and it's overall really good. Genuinely no notes, it's cut and dry, nothing overally complicated and I loved it.
Characters: I loved the characters. Rody is so deeply in love with his girlfriend (Marieanna) and loses his sense of self. He literally does not know who he is without her and instead of listening to her and improving himself and becoming his own person, he makes himself think that if he just had enough money, that she would take him back. Vince on the other hand, woah that motherfucker is a little mad in the head isn't he? I was expecting your usual obsessive yandere esc character but no. He becomes not really obsessed but more like testing a theory. He has never tasted food and wants so desperately to make food where you can taste the love in it so when he found out about Rody whiles dating Marieanne, well he just had to put this theory to the taste test right? I also live for the theory of him wanting to express his love to Rody by feeding him the thing that he loved most (I think this theory is actually pretty solid tbh and I'm not sure if it's a theory or confirmed within the game. I played this so long ago that I've kind of forgotten).
1. Elevator Hitch
Gameplay: This one might be obvious to most people who follow me but Elevator Hitch is literally my absolute favourite. The gameplay itself was quite fun, I enjoyed the puzzles and tasks that had to be done and the uniqueness of each floor. I had one problem where I didn't realise you could look around the elevator, I wished there were some arrows to indicate you could do that but overall the gameplay was solid.
Story: The story is simple, simple in a fun complicated way. It certainly didn't answer why the building is the way it is but that was alright with me. I enjoyed especially the small glimpses at protag's life before he got stuck in the elevator. I loved the ending, the fact that he had no real choice but to go back was *chef's kiss* Sad ending for Protag but that's okay, solid story.
Characters: One of my favourite head cannons about this game is that coworker is actually pretending to be stupid about the situation that we the player are experiencing and I can be more than be convinced about that. Our main character definitely has shit going on, as saw in the end he needed that job and well the fourth floor with his parents. I loved the dialogue options and the dynamic going on between the two of them. They're both silly and share one brain cell and I adore them for that.

When he comes back out to put his shoes on, Eddie’s obediently heading to bed, albeit muttering grouchily to himself the whole time. Buck’s struck by this sudden and violent urge to stride over and kiss him on his forehead, just a short and sweet goodbye. He wants to do it now, and he wants to do it tomorrow and every time he ever has to leave, however brief it may be.
Eddie pauses at his bedroom door and peers back at Buck down the dark hallway. Then he grins, quick, before bossily saying, “Well, don’t keep my kid waiting. And expect that list. I will not be taking comments on my friendship with our meat vendor today, so not one word if you also happen to receive some questions to relay to her.” With that, he marches into his bedroom, leaving Buck’s face aching with the span of his smile and his heart aching with the easy way Eddie’d referred to Mariana as an our.
It's hard to know when something shifts when you’re living in it. But if Buck from two weeks ago had harboured any thoughts of dizzyingly domestic goodbye kisses, he’d have folded it up as small as possible and tucked it into the recesses of his mind. Today? Buck folds it once, twice, and tucks it into his back pocket. It’s not that it’s suddenly conceivable, more that—the last couple weeks have felt like such a dream already, and maybe Buck’s feeling indulgent. He knows he’ll have to wake up soon, so until then, he’ll let himself pretend it’s within reach.

i know that some of the marriage candidates have more compelling characterization than others, but the fact that concerned ape created 12 unique characters with their own fulfilled arcs and complicated backstories (that often overlap with other townspeople!) is beyond incredible
#and this isn’t even mentioning the other pelican town residents!!!#sdv is such a unique game in that fanon content isn’t meant to fix the narrative but enhance it#i finished playing lake yesterday and as much as i enjoyed it some of the relationships felt very surface level#(despite there being far fewer characters)#and like. the romance arcs ? unfulfilling tbh#like if you’re gonna fall in love with someone in two weeks i think it needs to be a little more intense#stardew valley#sdv

theon grejoy vs finnick odair - a comparison
theon greyjoy:
when we meet theon in agot, we quickly learn his humour, how he hides his sorrow/trauma well enough under a veil of smiles, quick wit and seduction.
theon’s character is painted as a dark youth, very well loved by the common ladies in the area (meaning he’s hot!!!!) and loves to joke about his exploits (bran pov in agot where robb needs to cut theon off for talking about a threesome in front of a child)
his character has connections to the sea and he is extremely skilled with his weapon of choice (the bow). and he was very young when he was taken away from the home he knew.
finnick odair:
when we meet finnick in catching fire, we see him through katniss’s lenses. she quickly dismisses him as an attractive man with little compassion other than for making lewd jokes. (she is not very good at reading people on an emotional level, much like bran the literal 8 year old).
his humour and seduction are useful in making it seem like he’s not much of a threat, though he did win his games very young because of his charm and skill with his weapon of choice (the trident)
the allusions of him and the sea are a big part of his character, though it’s clear that he was pulled away from his home as a capital’s hostage to please the citizens, putting his loved ones in danger should he go out of line.
NOW TOGETHER:
theon and finnick are both known as characters who a quick to humour as well as wit. shining smiles seem to win them the favour of those attracted to them but behind those smiles there is always something hidden.
much like finnick, theon is taken away from his home against his will, he is used as a hostage in the north, the lines blur between him and finnick as the latter’s loved ones are threatened, whereas for theon, he is the one who is being threatened, should his father fall out of line.
both go through a rather traumatic ordeal- crippling them mentally. theon in his reek transformation due to ramsay and finnick post catching fire when he knew that annie was captured.
the biggest similarity, other than their good looks, would be their draw to the ocean. we see very clearly in catching fire that finnick is in HIS element when he’s close to the ocean. theon’s ancestry and gods are of the ocean and i believe the thing that weakened him significantly is that he was away from the element that sustained his people. leaving him on land where he became so detached from the ocean that even his own father didn’t accept him.
anyway this is long winded, i will come back with more because i want to discuss this with people.

Calling it trauma to get scared of One (1) videogame and having it affect me still feels wrong to do
But I dont know what else *to* call something that affected me so deeply that i was unable to sleep for weeks and sent me into such an anxiety inducing spiral that i could barely do *anything* without shaking and crying and resulting in my doctor at last giving me sertralin to function somewhat sure does feel like a traumatic experience.
A huge part of my love of one particular artist has more or less diminished as I cant look at his work without getting triggered, I can barely play first person games anymore without getting anxious, I cant listen to certain music that I listened to at that time
Sometimes I’m scared it will never go away, that it will keep coming up now and again
Anyway, i dont know where I wanted to go with this but one thing is for certain

#this started from a thought i had yesterday that i might never get to finish fallout 3 as it had a lot of aesthetics similar to the Bad#which sucks cause i love that game#and this morning i walked past a truck which had Things that connected to Other Things that reminded me of the Bad#just walking to work listening to citypop and then bam#that chill down my spineand the cold sweat as i rushed away from the car#man this sucks#neacle rambles
