So apparently Pokémon Presents told us we’re getting a new Legends game based in Kalos, rather than anything about Gen 5 remakes

And you know honestly, I’m cool with that, I think I prefer that. Kalos got barely any attention even in its own generation, not even getting a rerelease/sequel, which all the generations before and even the one after it got (Gen 8 and 9 didn’t get that, but they got DLC which basically acts as an addition to the story, which still applies here). Not to mention we know Kalos has lore from ancient times, and we’re probably gonna see it now in this game, which is really cool

Like yeah, I’m pretty sure Kalos isn’t seen as one of the best regions, but it’s finally getting more attention from Game Freak, and I’m happy to see that

Also I think BDSP has shattered my faith in Pokémon remakes, so I’m kind of glad Gen 5 isn’t getting one. They’ll probably save it for Gen 10 if we’re being honest

Edit: wait I just looked at more info (I didn’t see the Presents, I had class, but I just saw the news), this might take place in a futuristic Kalos? I don’t really know, but just then take what I predict about it with a grain of salt

also assistant!lucas as the protag of pla means sooooo much because instead of a regular protagonist-born character (dawn, in this instance) arceus itself took a regular old friendly npc who would've otherwise faded into the background like he essentially did in the dppt games and went. you are more than that. you have potential beyond your own knowledge. i place my faith in you. and lucas proves that that faith is justified! he saves hisui! he completes the pokédex! he bests even a portion of arceus in a test of strength! and that kind of viewpoint on it instead of "the champion of dppt saves the day Again!" is wayyy more compelling to me because it says Even You, A Regular Guy, Have Potential Enough That The Gods Themselves Take Notice Of It. and after the arceus battle! arceus' dialogue!!!!

the Thing of it all becomes the fact that not only is arceus GLAD it chose some research assistant over the champion of sinnoh, but that lucas has both its blessing and a part of it that wants to walk through the world with him and see the world as he sees it!!! from a seemingly unremarkable character who grew to learn and do remarkable things until he became remarkable himself!!! it's such a concept to me!!!!

In Honor of finishing Pokémon Arceus and beating God

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE BTW. I had initially been disappointed that I didn’t have any “real plans” for yesterday (couldn’t go anywhere bc I have work today) but I did get to go on voice call and play games with some irls that live kinda far from me and we actually had a blast. Hope everyone else had the NYE they wanted to have :^)

@sapphiresplash03 and I have been tossing Pokémon ideas back and forth. Wish there was an actual duo type gym: his fire and my flying (bat) Pokémon team would be fun to witness.
