And, because I am normal and don't think about these guys for hours every day, here's some backstory:

When Cross first joined, Killer actually took to him pretty quickly (Dust and Horror did not get warm welcomes). Which is to say he immediately started flocking to Cross to annoy him and compete with him on missions. Cross didn't have the benefit of knowing Killer already to see these were affectionate annoyances, so to him Killer was just some guy who had a problem and wouldn't leave him alone.

During that mission, Nightmare was calling a retreat when he put a hand to his chest and realised the heart locket was gone. Killer saw him looking all around frantically and had a good idea what was lost, since it was the one thing Cross would absolutely not part with since he joined. So, Killer ran back out towards the stars to look for it, because why learn self preservation now. It was the first thing to convince Cross that Killer actually was being (relatively) friendly, despite all the annoyances.

also, because i'm still thinking about the disco elysium kids:

i think the difference in how people react to cuno vs cunoesse is really so indicative of peoples' reactions in general to trauma survivors. they're both kids who scream at you and call you slurs, but cuno will open up to you a little if you talk to him the right way and pass the right checks and give him time. and you can go to cuno's apartment and find out exactly what's caused him to act that way; you can see his dad and hear about how his dad acts and go "well, his behavior is still shitty, but he's 12 and i know why he acts that way, so it's fine", and then harry can take him back to jamrock with him and presumably into a life that's at least slightly better than his life in martinaise.

but i've seen (mostly outside of tumblr) a lot of people who play the game absolutely hate cunoesse, and i think it's because you don't get such an easy explanation for why she acts how she does? she screams and calls you slurs, too, but she won't let you get close to her. she freaks out if you even walk near her and accuses you of trying to hurt her. you don't get to find her house or her parents or an easy explanation, and she's not about to give you any potential ammo to hurt her further with by explaining what's happened to her. and it's pretty clear if you look for it — a 10 year old isn't just gonna accuse any adult who walks near her of attempted assault unless some real bad shit has happened to them — but because she isn't able to be can-opened by harry, isn't willing to calm down and talk to you, isn't able to let her guard down to give the audience insight into her mind, she's immediately seen as less sympathetic. people empathize more with those who respond to trauma with sadness than with anger, even when both of the subjects are little kids, and i think it's fucked up that just because she's angry cunoesse gets less sympathy from the audience than cuno does!!

(also not to mention like. the additional axes of gender, and of her being from outside of revachol, and of the different types of abuse at play for each of them. because i'm sure that all also plays a part in the differing reactions in-universe and on an audience level!)

Hello moots, cutes, and other peeps! I was going through old files and found some rottmnt stuff that I simply never posted?? Probably out of nervousness that it “wasn’t good enough” but that’s silly and I think they’re cute so here you go. I had fun drawing them and that’s all that really matters. Nervousness be damned!

seeing the horse bedding anon inspired me to try and switch our cat to pine pellets, but coming from clumping litter, I'm a little confused by the box cleaning process. do you need a sifting litterbox to get the dust out? this feels like such a silly question, but how does cleaning the litterbox differ with the pine pellets? we got a 35lb bag for 5.89 which is a crazy savings if she actually likes them!

Hey! I’m going to explain the method I use but I’m sure other ppl have differing opinions. This is just what works for me.

I only put a small amount of litter in each box. I actually don’t scoop poop daily unless someone did a really stinky poop or there’s just a lot. But every other day I dump out the entire litterbox because basically the whole thing is soiled with urine. On the litter boxes they don’t use as often I can get an extra day or two.

If you only have one or two cats you’d probably end up wasting a lot of litter if you dumped the boxes that often. I have 5 cats and even tho I have 6 litter boxes they really only use 3 of them regularly, so they get really gross really fast. I’ve found that just using small amounts of litter and starting fresh more often helps keep my house from smelling like one big litter box

I know other people will fill the boxes like normal, scoop poop daily, and then give the box a little shake to make the crumbled pellets settle down on the bottom of the box. Then when there’s too much urine they’ll dump the whole thing. So basically the same idea as a sifting box without spending the extra money for one.
