more on reborn au au (au squared) obito. technically includes plasticity spoilers?

okay so my goal in plasticity is NOT to "redeem" anyone or have anyone change their personal goals. so obito reincarnates and he still wants his moon's eye plan but also he is a little baby. i think i'll let both him and itachi keep their magic eyeballs but they don't have enough chakra to actually DO much with them until they're older (i guess like 12-13 bc that's when itachi was an ANBU captain, but it seems like neither of them should be able to be casually spamming mangekyou until they're adults)

however i think obito is uuuuuh easily distracted. like he can make a convoluted plan and carry it out-- he IS an uchiha thank you very much-- but also he's going to get sidetracked by just doing random shit for the lulz. this is why in canon he spends months harassing deidara for no reason. so he determines he must put his evil plans on hold for an indeterminate amount of time and WAIT A SECOND he hang out with rin now!!!!

i think he'd actually be very frustrated with trying to maintain a friendship with rin? like he put her on the HIGHEST pedestal but at the end of the day, she's a normal young girl. she's sweet to him but she's not as interesting as he remembers and she's a kid so she makes mistakes and also, obito is kind of insane and all of his peers Sense This about him. so he likes checking on her and doing short social activities with her, but he's not having hours long heart-to-hearts with her anymore. they're not as close. also if anything happens to rin obito will kill everyone in konoha and then himself

obito is kind of like "whatever, i'll be a genius this time around, that looked fucking fantastic for kakashi" so he attempts to be A Genius but it turns out if you're better than everyone else your age, adults expect you to..... do things?? obito is his own boss he doesn't just DO things smh. so he sets up this weird dynamic where he get lauded by his family but his family is also like uuuuh why aren't you graduating early??? BUT BECAUSE RIN IS THERE AND HE NEEDS TO LOOK AT HER

also, incredibly annoyingly, kakashi can still beat him sometimes because kakashi is a weird genetic freak. instead of just continually kicking his ass obito has just put more pressure on him to get stronger. horrible

konoha gives obito to minato and is like: there is something deeply unhinged about this kid but he had a sharingan at 8 so. do something with that. and unfortunately minato trying very earnestly to mentor obito is sort of endearing, and obito didn't realize the first time around how many strings minato pulled to get rin into medic-nin training and keep them off the frontlines as much as possible and obito..... will let him live this time, maybe.

at some point obito catches wind that danzo is sniffing around kakashi and so he breaks into danzo's home and is like "aaaaw how cute, but kakashi is mine. keep it up and i will kill you <3" and scares the living shit out of danzo. (minato is SUSPICIOUS obito Did Something but this does mean MINATO no longer has to do anything, so he doesn't ask questions)

the minute obito thinks he can use kamui more than once without giving himself chakra exhaustion, he starts poking around internationally. there's no real goal except MAYBE find and kill zetsu and madara, he's just Doing Shit. and in Doing Shit he runs into the Ame Trio and realizes there's more than one reincarnate?

obito: oh.... oh my god

obito: (kamuis directly into three year old itachi's bedroom) HELLO????

itachi: (OH FUCK????)

so i think the obito-itachi relationship is obito realizes he has a sounding board for all the various random shit he's been doing and whining about how his friendship with rin is weird, and also what if he claims kakashi by nonconsensually implanting one of his eyes??? no no, you're right, it's better if obito has two eyes to make up for not being half hashirama cells.

also his presence makes itachi 10x more feral

itachi: if you decide to kill everyone again, you have to give sasuke to me, unharmed. if you don't i will ruin your entire. i will kill you as painfully as i can. this is non-negotiable

obito isn't really interested in uchiha massacre 2.0 though. he doesn't care if itachi murders danzo, and he'll eat popcorn while watching but he doesn't offer help. he convinces itachi to swap eyeballs with him for the EMS, but itachi really wants SASUKE to inherit his eyeballs once he's old enough so Obito might have to swap? again? with sasuke?? fine, whatever. this new version of team 7 all think he's bonkers and sometimes walk on extreme eggshells around him, but they're NICE to him and he's not going to fuck that up. minato will ask kakashi and rin to babysit once he has his brat kid, never obito, but obito doesn't really care because it means he has more time to go harass other akatsuki members

and then kakashi is taken hostage (UNFORGIVABLE) and it turns out. there was someone ELSE he could have been bothering this whole time!!!

obito: tori PLEASE join konoha it will be SO FUNNY

someone commenting on obito watching itachi and tori gay chicken (straight chicken?) each other so hard they end up married so i've been debating how his presence affects this dynamic. i think he obviously makes it worse. because he cottons onto itachi's Girl Problems the second they start and he keeps trapping him in social situations and giving him "dating advice." so itachi is even MORE desperate to get a stable girlfriend to get his entire stupid family yo leave him alone

Okay, sorry if this was asked before but I'm curious and I'd really like to learn more. You've mentioned in a couple of posts now that Itachi wasn't retconned. Could you please elaborate further?

Hey! No, this wasn't asked before. I was thinking of making a separate post for this, but procrastination is evil. So, I am one of the 'Itachi was meant to be a good guy/was not evil/had more to him than he let on' people. Watching the anime, it was the feeling that there was more to him. His reveal was along the lines of devastation and shocking for me than surprise. Detailed post is below the cut.

First thing first.

This was Itachi's first look that Kishimoto had planned.

Itachi was originally conceived as the leader of Konoha's Special Assassination and Tactical Squad called the "Anbu", dubbed the Itachi Squad (イタチ隊, Itachi-tai), which would have been a 70-man group divided into four teams, specializing in assassination and other illicit operations. However, this idea was scrapped in favour of the current Itachi working for the Akatsuki.

The above paragraph is from Itachi's wikipedia that cites a couple of interviews as sources. People can't be too blind in their delusion to think the author who wrote the story had no idea what he was writing.

Next is the Naruto Databook that has some fishy things if we look closely. In the first glance it's not very obvious, but after learning the truth it seems very much obvious.

It says, "the ones who know the reason of its downfall are very small". Go back to Obito's words about only four people being aware of the reason of the clan's downfall.

Additionally, Itachi carried out 134 B-Rank missions. Zero A Rank. And one S-Rank. The S rank mission being the Uchiha massacre. It's very fishy that he was given one s rank mission without any A tank mission. Suspicious? We know later on why.

It's also interesting because the first databook was published in 2002 and Itachi first appeared in 2003. If his twist wasn't planned from the beginning this databook is very telling.

Since I mentioned how he looked, here's him in Sasuke's flashbacks for the first time.

He looks far from evil or sadistic. You want to know who enjoys killing for fun? Hidan. Itachi, on the other hand, on the day of the massacre itself, looks miserable and lost.

In chapter 7, he in a haze-like manner he talks about crying. In many English translations it's translated as 'he made me cry' and in many it's this. It's very, very vague, but his statement is complimented by Sakura's question, to which he still responds in the similar way 'My..' Maybe he was trying to say 'My brother', but he instead finishes his speech with 'my goal is to take revenge' etc., Since it's still very early so it might not be the strongest evidence, but a few chapters later in chapter 27, during their fight against Haku, when Sasuke awakens his Sharingan, he has two tomoe in his right eye.

Yes, he might have awakened it this way, but it also suggests that maybe already had his Sharingan and that's why this is 'asymmetrical' awakening? In the later chapters we find out he actually did have his Sharingan he awakened after the massacre.

This flashbacks in chapter 127 most firmly establishes Itachi's twist. The tilted head-protector. Sasuke remembers it vaguely, but he has no recollection of Itachi crying that night, because his mind is still hazy from the "truth" Itachi wanted him to believe. We know later on the significance of this scene.

There are three moments before Itachi was even introduced that give away what we see right after his truth reveal and connect to the chapter 403.

The 'Itachi was retconned' camp also uses 'Itachi was meant to be older (than 13) but Kishi made him younger later on' as an excuse to justify their retcon bullshit.

Kakashi, in chapter 142, states Itachi was 13 when he was made the Anbu captain.

Itachi graduated when he was just seven. Sasuke is the same age as Itachi was when he graduated from the Academy. Itachi is 17 at the time of his first appearance and Sasuke is 12. It is enough to tell lies were spread about Itachi. We, obviously, learn later on why.

Some more obvious hints were his interaction with Asuma, Kurenai, and Kakashi.

The criminal infamous for annihilating one of the strongest clans refuses to indulge in fight?

He also asks Kisame to keep things low key and not get too much attention. That's an excuse. He's not here to wage war. Yes, later on he does ask Kisame to go ahead. But that's because he's a spy. He cannot let Danzo know he dropped his guard. One single mistake from his side that could unearth the truth of the massacre and Danzo would lay hands on Sasuke. Plus, while he's strong, his opponents aren't just fragile saplings who couldn't stand any blow he or Kisame cast. He knew reinforcements would be on the way.

Kakashi also wonders why Itachi didn't just kill him. Again, yes, the torture was brutal, but they're ninja who are meant to do and endure cruel things. Itachi had to look like he was a menacing criminal reputed to have killed the Uchiha singlehandedly.

So, he completely avoids fighting Asuma and Kuernai, takes on only Kakashi because he's strong and can take it, also has Sharingan. But he completely refuses to go against Jiraiya. Jiraiya may or may not be stronger than him. Maybe they were equal. However, recalling Obito's words again: Itachi devoted himself to fighting Sasuke to death.

Two conclusions come from this:

He didn't want to fight Jiraiya because it would result in a massive bloodbath and killing a leaf Shinobi is out of question for him. He's not a coward. He just doesn't want to fight him.

As we know from later on, he wanted to fight and die at Sasuke's hands only. Killing a Konoha Shinobi or dying at the hands of someone that isn't Sasuke isn't a part of his plan.

This can also be tracked further when Kisame captures the Four Tails.

Kisame most likely knew about Itachi's illness, knew Itachi wanted to die at Sasuke's hands. The reason Itachi didn't fight Jiraiya and Rōshi was most likely the same.

Kisame comments on Itachi's 'lingering affection' towards the village. The Akatsuki pairings' dynamics are quite opposite. Deidara and Sasori love art but have differing opinions on eternal vs explosive. Hidan and Kakuzu represent religion vs materialism (money). And Itachi and Kisame represent treachery vs loyalty. Itachi isn't loyal to Akatsuki, Kisame is.

They also wonder why is Itachi taking the matter of kidnapping Naruto so lightly. He could have done it very easily. We know now that that wasn't his intent and his objective to visit the village was something else.

As popular as 'Itachi knocked on the door before kidnapping Naruto' meme is, the truth is, he wasn't there to kidnap him at all. Replace Itachi with Kisame alone for a moment. Knock on the door? No, sir. Naruto would be half-dead. Or replace him with Hidan and Kakuzu. They're sadistic bastards and would have damaged Naruto in the worst possible way.

Furthermore, when you think of it, he revealed 'Akatsuki are after jinchuriki' years prior to the Akatsuki even began collecting the tailed beasts. It was a message he left because it was important. His job in the Akatsuki wasn't to "pass on the info to the village." It was to keep tabs on them so they don't attack Konoha.

After the massacre, Sasuke's unwavering faith in Itachi despite being put in Tsukuyomi. At first it doesn't seem too much, but we later discover that Itachi used to be a kind and gentle boy. So this bit isn't just Sasuke is blind, but also that Itachi was a kind child before the tragedy happened.

Sasuke's flashbacks in chapter 220 also hint towards Itachi being trapped in the politics of the village/clan. Fugaku is speaking to his own son but the discussion is so intense that he has to activate his Sharingan to convey the message to Itachi.

These are the flashbacks from the chapter #221 that further shed light on Itachi being a spy.

He's the "pipeline between the clan and the village" - a spy. Later Obito says Itachi was callously used for his devotion towards the village, this is an example of his clan doing this to him.

This is Itachi right after being accused of Shisui's murder. He looks in grief, while also processing the news. Once the narrative delves deep into Itachi's story (through Sasuke's eyes) in VOTE1, he continues to look miserable, lost, in pain, and in dire need of help. And once we begin to see more of him before his death, he is quite human. But again, Kishimoto had his whole story figured out by that time, knew what he was to do with Itachi's arc and Sasuke's future there.

Kishimoto isn't a terrible writer because some people choose to ignore what's written right there or cannot accept happened. Usually the deniers of this are those who question his morality. His morality is never the subject of the debate because Itachi isn't exonerated for his crimes. He's a part of a world that's cruel and violent and his actions align with it very much. The ones who "praise" him have their own bias, and that gives him nothing in return. Characters in fiction always, I mean, always respond to the information based on their morality. When Hashirama praises Itachi, it's because he grew up in the warring era and lost all his family. He learns there's this kid who chose a path with the least damage but at the cost of his life, he's a good Shinobi. Hiruzen also has his bias as well as his guilt. Naruto's praise for Itachi is not only because of stopping a war, but also for loving Sasuke. No one other than Sasuke sees him as a person whether anyone likes him or hates him. He's praised by other Shinobi for doing things that are expected from a Shinobi.

Either way, at the end of the day, Itachi himself doesn't see himself who is worth forgiving, worth loving, worth being remembered. That's his whole arc.

Obito-sensei

An illustrated drabble :D Joubito AU. T. Kkob. Cute. They're about 20~25. Sharingan training. * * *

Obito cracked a heavy eyelid open. The first thing he saw was a kaleidoscope of whirling dots. He hadn’t recovered full command of his body just yet and lay on the floor with limbs spread out, nerve endings tickling all over. His cheeks felt strange.

Slap!

“Don’t make me take you to a hospital, Obito…” Kakashi’s angry muttering reached his ears.

The dancing dots melted into the shape of a hand nervously hovering over his face. The hand that had just… slapped him! Obito winced from the pain.

Oh, right. Kakashi was trying to wake him after their regular Sharingan training session — a useful practice they’d established to help each other hone their skill. The genjutsu he’d put Obito through this time was a good one, gotta give him that. A crushing, devastating illusion that had apparently made him faint in reality. Obito couldn’t even remember its details at that moment, only the feeling of Kakashi’s will engulfing him like a gigantic wave and taking his malleable consciousness to the depths of a black ocean. The weight of the water was numbing, extinguishing all light, sound, and thought. A perfect, opaque stillness, the lulling calm of death that his body and mind longed to surrender to.

“No! No hospital,” Obito finally croaked, barely recognizing his own voice. With some difficulty, he propped himself up on one elbow. Kakashi was sitting on his haunches beside him and eyeing his form uneasily, the Sharingan glowing in the semi-darkness of the room. Obito rubbed a sore cheek and concluded:

“Not bad, Kakashi. You’re learning quickly. But you absolutely didn’t have to go all the way and slap my face. It hurts, you know.”

“It seems I still don’t understand something, Obito-sensei,�� Kakashi said caustically. “How come an Uchiha like you, a natural-born Sharingan user, fainted on me like that? This hasn’t happened before. Of course I lost my shit, you idiot! I wasn’t planning to harm you! Aren’t you supposed to be mostly immune to the effects of a genjutsu?”

“I am!” he rasped back, not bothering to hide the irritation in his voice. “But this time I wasn’t — deliberately. How else am I supposed to teach you this stuff if I never let you see the real effect it has? Besides… it was curious to experience it fully, and finally find out how it felt for those I’ve tried this technique on. And I’m recovering quickly, see?” Obito waved a hand, attempting a smile.

Kakashi was fidgeting, lips undoubtedly pressed into a thin line under that mask of his — a rare display of worry under a layer of quietly simmering indignation.

“You never warned me you’d dropped your defense. You never even told me it was actually possible — to subdue your innate ability to resist genjutsu. To lie unconscious for a whole five minutes from the effect of your own eye? I’d thought you’d get out of my illusion like usual. What else haven’t you told me?”

“Well…” he drawled. “It was my decision to take some risks. Don’t fret. However, since I let you mess with my mind, I may suffer some aftereffects now. I may feel a little drained for a day or two… It’s something we’ll find out very soon.”

Kakashi tapped at his masked chin and hummed. “I see. You’re making your own decisions regarding our training. And I’m sitting here like an idiot, wondering if… You know, I’m not gonna cast genjutsu on you anymore. We happen to encounter plenty of enemy ninja on our missions.”

“Um… Sorry? Okay, okay, maybe I deserved the slaps. But I’m your ‘Obito-sensei’! I’m the only one who can give you helpful feedback on the use of my own Sharingan, aren’t I?” Obito felt his lips forming a big, toothy grin this time; he stretched a hand and pressed a finger against Kakashi’s left eyelid. “Even a genius like you needs feedback. Not this time though. The illusion was perfect. Perfectly awful and morbid. But you’d better close this eye before it makes you faint.”

I saw this article calling Sasuke a Villain and how the live-action shouldn't include his "villain" arc, because it "felt tedious and too convoluted to the bigger narrative" and instead they should make him a pivot for the fight against the Otsutsuki...

Did this person watch the anime or read the manga?

Article from CBR, Title: The Naruto Live-Action Movie Doesn't Need To Adapt This Villain Arc

1. Protect Konoha from what? The Uchiha wanted to end the decades long discrimination and oppression they were facing at the hands of the higher ups... (Not to mention that when Kurama attacked the village (under genjutsu, when Naruto was born), and during the konoha crush, no other villages went to attack the Leaf after the events), not even after the Pein arc...

2. Most people would hate growing up alone, and why was that sentence in bold?

3. Sasuke didn't find out about the true reason Itachi did what he did, until after Itachi died, as well as the real reason behind said Coup... as far as I am aware. And why wouldn't he want revenge against Konoha (specifically the 3 people who are left that caused all of his trauma and the uchiha genocide, it'd be 4 but the Sandaime Hokage was already dead by this point in the story)

4. What "wars" against Madara and Obito? There was only 1 War against them, the 4th great ninja war, that lasted 2 days a.k.a. approximately ~212 episodes, including filler (volumes 55 through 59 in the Manga, according to google)

"Naruto and Sasuke were reincarnations of her sons (Ashura and Indra, respectively)"

Okay, so the author didn't watch nor read Naruto...

Indra and Ashura Otsutsuki are not Kaguya's sons... they are her grandsons 👁️👄👁️ Homura and Hagoromo Otsutsuki are her sons... and Hagoromo is Ashura and Indra's father…

I feel like the author doesn't know much about Kaguya either, if they did they'd know her story.

"The advantage of Sasuke being a rebel without defecting from Konoha is that Naruto would have the help needed to fight the big villains of the franchise: the Ōtsutsuki."

When the time came, was Sasuke not helping Naruto with that? 🧐 And why shouldn't he have defected from Konoha? What good could they do for him?

Why does Sasuke need to be convinced to return home, when his home was taken from him by this "home" the author speaks of, that "home" being Konoha? Why should he return to the place that treated his people so poorly that they felt they no other choice but to do a coup against the people in charge of Konoha only to be wiped out for daring to stand up for themselves after years of oppression...?

Konoha, specifically Danzo, the third hokage, and 2 hogake advisors, Homura and Koharu (3 of which where Tobirama Senju's students and all 4 of which were on his personal team, and we all know what Tobi thought of the Uchiha) forced Itachi to wipeout his whole clan, excluding Sasuke, and then blamed him for it. They swept what they did under a filthy rug, that already had many skeletons piling up, and acted like he was the most evil person... He was a child and he was forced to do that and to become a fugitive by the old people in charge, who had no business being in charge of Konoha since there should've been a 5th Hokage by then... (regardless if Itachi regretted it or not, which he never really does)

I won't say it...😇

1. While I do agree that Naruto should've learnt more of the Uzumaki (and the Namikaze), besides finding out they excelled in Sealing Jutsus, had very long lives and were a bit savage (it wasn't in-depth at all, and there is no one to teach him, since the Uzumaki are also victims of genocide (in which Konoha did not help protect them) and well, I don't know what happened to Minato's people)

2. And that Sasuke should've learnt more of his people (but how was he going to, when he was the only one left at age 7/8?)

3. Indra's dark side... it wasn't passed down, nor did it emerge until his father gave his little brother the title of successor and expected him to follow without questions, having his birthright taken away because he was more introverted than his little brother whom their father called "the flunky useless dropout younger brother" (according to a panel I saw). And implied, at least to me, that ninjustu was created for wars and all things evil (Indra created ninjustu when he was just a child). ah yes his dark side the Uchiha inherited, that darkness of wanting to be treated like people and with respect in the village they helped make.

4. Kushina calls the Uzumaki, among other things, a bit savage. Batsuma Senju punched Hashirama, a child at the time, for being angry/sad that his little brother died, saying he was disrespecting his brother (and him) by basically questioning the system. Tobirama is a Senju, who was not shy about his hatred and prejudice against the Uchiha Clan (he is after all the founder of the bigoted psuedo science that was the "Curse of Hatred" the Uchiha are supposedly afflicted by, a clan that according to him is cursed and called Sasuke "a brat possessed by Uchiha evil") and that's on Ashura's "light" that gave way for his descendants, the Uzumaki and the Senju, "a clan of love~"🥰

Right, because he wasn't a pivot to the story, nor did his and naruto's story have any "heart and impact"... Right...

At some point, I wonder if some of this article is just satire 😅

“Obito?”

The man who was standing just a few feet down below you had turned around quite quickly when you said his name. How could he forget the sound of your voice? He yearned to hear it ever since he stopped engaging with you all that time ago.

His heart practically halted inside his chest when he saw you standing there behind him. He thought for a brief moment that he was dreaming. He hoped that when he blinked you didn’t disappear before him, and much to his surprise, you didn’t. You were there with this emotional facial expression that made his chest feel heavy. You looked so hurt, but at the same time you seemed as if you craved his comfort more than anything else. He felt the same exact way about you. All he wanted was for you to be by his side again. He didn’t care what it took for you to forgive him. He would gladly do anything you asked without any second thought. Obito needed you and he didn’t know what else he would do if you left him.

“(Y/N)..”

You walked down the steps that led to the sandy parts of the beach. The tide beside you filled your ears, reminding you of when you both came here for the first time. It was so beautiful. You don’t know why you ever stopped coming there.

You stood in front of Obito with a racing heart. He seemed still stunned at the sight of you being there. You honestly knew he would be here. You vaguely recalled the time he told you he often came to the beach to just sit and think, or if he was having a hard time he would come and stare at the infinite waters to clear his head. It seemed almost fitting that you were here with him. “Obito.. I..” you started, but you didn’t know how to finish your words. What was the right thing to say? There was so much you wanted to scream out and tell him. “I’m sorry.”

Obito’s eyes grew wide at those words. He didn’t feel as if it was right for you to apologize to him. Sure, you said things, really really bad things, but you were in pain. You were hurt by everything that he had done. Your reactions were valid, and the last thing he wanted was for you to feel guilty. “No, don’t apologize. I’m the one who’s sorry, (Y/N). I shouldn’t have done what I did..” he looked down at the sand beneath his feet for a brief moment. “You didn’t deserve what I said or did to you at all. You knew he was being sincere with his words. You had learned every little thing about Obito and his body language to know that he wasn’t lying to you. It hurt you, a lot. Everything that had happened made you see him differently, but you still wanted him. All you desired was him at the end of the day. You wanted him to know that. He deserved that at least. “Obito, I forgive you already. I knew I did when you came to me the other day..” you looked into his eyes when speaking. “I.. I love you.”

Obito stood there for a few seconds in complete and utter disbelief. Those words.. those words he had been dying to say to you for the past few months finally came out, but they were from your lips. He didn’t know what to think. There were so many emotions going through him at that very moment that it took him a second to process what you had just said fully. You loved him? Even after what he had done and said about you? It had to be a lie. How could you want to be in love with someone like him? It sounded unlike you to say such things to him. You were always so honest and blunt, but this was the one time he had a hard time believing you.

He placed his larger hands onto your shoulders, leaning down to make eye contact with you. This was the first time you had felt his touch in the past few weeks. It was so familiar to you. Having his skin making contact with yours made almost every memory come back to you. “(Y/N).. you don’t have to lie to make me feel better. I don’t deserve someone as amazing as you are, so don’t think you have to submit to me for it to be okay.” he looked at you with seriousness in his facial expression. “I don’t want to call you a liar, ever, but I don’t want you forcing yourself to do such a thing.”

You understood where he was coming from completely. It sounded unlike you, but after that conversation with your mom, you knew you loved Obito. He was everything you ever wanted in a man and he treated you better than someone like Itachi would. Sure, what happened was fucked up and both of you were impacted, but you wanted to look past that and move on. “Obito.. I’d never lie to you and I’m not forcing myself to say this. You’re the only guy who’s treated me like a human being, and you’ve been supportive since we met.” you looked up at him. “There’s nobody else I want in this world, except you, Obito. I love you and you deserve me in your life.. I can say that with honesty.”

Instead of saying anything else, he pulled you in for a hug. A big hug that you both desperately needed. The smell of his cologne made your heart beat with ease and there was this happiness that was overtaking you while he held you in his embrace. This was what you needed, no, what you both needed.

Obito’s chin rested atop your head. He stared out at the waves that crept up onto the shore. He couldn’t believe this was going to happen. He feared that if he let go of you that’d you somehow disappear, and that was the last thing he wanted. “I love you.. (Y/N).” he said, caressing the back of your head. “I want you to be mine.. forever.”

You lifted your eyes to stare upwards at him. He seemed so content and happy with what you had said. It’s almost like that storm cloud that was above his head had disappeared and turned into sunshine with a rainbow. You felt the same exact way. Everything that had been making you sad or plaguing your heart had dissipated within that moment. “I want you to be mine too, Obito.” you then pressed your lips onto his cheek, making a smile return to his features.

All he needed was you. It didn’t matter what universe or what life he entered. None of it was complete unless you had each other.

So, as you both stood at that spot with one another. You both realized how much your love had bloomed. Neither of you could have imagined this is how your story would have came to be, but there was one thing you both felt in that very moment.

Curious what do you think Madara and Nagato’s relationship would have been like Madara had taken Nagato as baby ?

Hello anon, my apologies for such a delayed answer. 💜 The reason this answer took so long is because I just couldn't think of anything smart to say, and I had no idea how to approach this ask at all. But without further due, let's begin:

Okay, I'm honestly not sure if Madara would take Nagato as a baby, more probable option in my eyes is he would take him in, after Nagato lost his family because of Konoha nins attacking his home.

This, of course, means that Nagato is traumatized by the event, and that could therefore mean he would be much more inclined to follow through with Madara's plan. Unlike Obito, Nagato also seems like a character who wouldn't mind sacrificing himself for Madara's revival (given he sacrificed himself for the Konoha Shinobi).

Nagato, much more than Obito, also seems like someone who enjoyes spiritualistic/relegion beliefs (given he outright calls himself a god), and is willing to follow these beliefs, because he values them deeply. This is why I think Nagato could have potentially believe Madara is the "god" who will save humanity from its own decay and disaster.

Nagato seems to value father figures, teachers and people who provide him with answers and directions much more than Obito. Nagato, through out his fight against Naruto, not only remembered Jiraya several times, refered to him, but also tried to explain to Naruto that he is actually trying to do what Jiraya always wanted, Nagato (sort of) still followed his old teacher's lead, albeit in his own way. Obito on the other hand went against Madara's plan multiple times, created a war that, if memory serves me right, was never part of Madara's plan in the first place, barely respected him even, and afterwards directly stated he never wanted to follow Madara's lead anyway. From Obito, I felt much bigger desire "to be the one, the savior", than from Nagato, who seems much more willing to be lead by others.

One thing, that Obito and Nagato have in common is that they both hid their true identity, although, again, I personally see a bit of a difference. Obito tried to supress his identity (as in he said he doesn't want to be anyone), whereas from Nagato, I sort of got the impression he still very much valued his identity – as while he accepted an identity of a god, the path he chose was still very much formed by the identity...of himself. I am trying to say Nagato was much more in touch with himself (at least that's how I personally saw the characters).

I wrote all of this, because the differences between Obito (the one who had a relationship/connection with Madara, however flawed it might have been) and Nagato might help to illustrate the possible relationship between Nagato and Madara.

Now, with Obito, we could see Madara believed in his abilties – we could see that when he said he's sure Obito certainly has a plan (he even said so twice, if I'm not mistaken) – and even joked with him a little bit. And I can imagine it could be the same with Nagato.

Now, at this point, this will be moving more towards the headcanon category, but I think the fact that Nagato essentially has Madara's eyes, would play a huge role in their potential relationship. I can imagine Madara telling Nagato about how the eyes he has will "pave" the path for the better future, how those eyes are eyes of the savior of the world.

One thing that would probably be different about their relationship is that Nagato, while powerful, is not an Uchiha. One of the main reasons why Madara even asked Sasuke whether or not he wants to join him was because they are both Uchihas, so that might change how he would view Nagato, as an non Uchiha.

The fact that Nagato seems to be more loyal to the cause though, might on the other hand cause Madara to rely on him a bit more, to open up, to trust him, as I believe Madara values loaylity. Madara needs people to have faight in him, he needs them to trust him, trust his decisions, and if Nagato showed that undying trust and respect, that might be something Madara would appreaciate.

Nagato, in his fight with Naruto, also showed he is willing to connect with others, that he is willing be empathetic with others, and that again would change his relationship with Madara. Who actually tried to understand Madara (other than probably Izuna)? Nobody, right? Well, I think it would definitely mean something had Nagato actually tried to create a connection. Again, it could mean Madara would open up a bit more.

BUT, here's the thing: Nagato would still have to sacrifice himself to revive Madara, and Madara knows that. So it is a huge question how much he (Madara) would be willing to let Nagato close to him. Because while I know Madara can be harsh in his pursuit of his goals, I do not think he would be completely unphased by sacrificing a loyal child he himself would raise.

This ask took way too long for me to answer (life just...happened), so I'm not even sure if you even want to still read this, anon, but in any case, I hope the answer was satisfying.

*I am now starting to write Naruto stories. But before I do, I have my own head cannons on how I think this will go down. Feel free to disagree, but this is my opinion and the way I see it.

Naruto Tickle Headcannons (Konoha 11 + Sasuke + Senseis + Sand Siblings):

Naruto

-This man is the most ticklish person in the entire village

-He just can't control his actions when he's tickled, so unless he's pinned down or tied up, no one can blame him for any injuries or trips to the hospital

-One of the few who enjoy starting tickle fights

-His most ticklish spots are his belly and feet, but is practically ticklish everywhere

-What starts out as cute giggles at first turns into loud cackles as time passes

-He can't take teasing very well

-He has a secret spot on his ear that makes him squeal like Tonton (only Sasuke knows about this)

-Squirms and kicks a lot, so he needs to be held down in order to get him

-He's only ever tickled when he's being too annoying or he pulled off one of his pranks (especially on Sasuke and Sakura)

-Whenever he is a ler, he'll allow his lee to run away for a bit......only for him to use his Shadow Clones to catch them and tickle them

-Loves teasing his lee

-Raspberries are his speciality

-After he's done, he'll wait for a bit trying not to get attacked again, but also making sure his lee is okay

-Fun fact: Kiba and Hinata know what happens when they tickle Naruto's back

Sasuke

-Many people think that the great Sasuke Uchiha isn't ticklish

-Only a select few know the truth (thanks to a certain hyper knucklehead ninja)

-Sasuke isn't as ticklish as Naruto, but he's pretty close

-Unlike Naruto, however, he's not ticklish everywhere

-He's not ticklish on his knee area or his thighs

-He's the only person that can actually control how he laughs when he's tickled

-His laugh starts out with nothing more than giggles, slowly turning into a deep, belly laugh whenever he can't control his laugh anymore

-He can't take teasing very well because it reminds him of when Itachi used to tickle him when they were kids

-Squirms around quite a bit, and WILL kick anyone who isn't holding his legs down

-Swears a lot

-Whenever he becomes a ler, he shows his lee no mercy, immediately going in for their most ticklish spot

-Fortunately, he doesn't want to kill his lee, so he lowers the torture for a few minutes tickling his lee's lesser ticklish spots until he goes in for the kill again when he gets bored

-Whenever he is finished, he'll make sure the lee is okay, then walk away as if he just didn't tickle torture someone (but not without threatening them about tickling him again)

Sakura

-This girl isn't insanely ticklish

-At most, she's about a 5/10

-But she is still ticklish, making it fun for Naruto and Kakashi to tickle her so she doesn't feel left out

-She is only ticklish on her sides, stomach, feet, and neck (her feet being the most ticklish spot)

-She squeals a lot when her neck is being tickled

-She can take teasing surprisingly well

-Doesn't squirm as much as her teammates

-Snorts every now and then

-Whenever she becomes a ler, she's a little ruthless

-She rarely ever teases her lee

-Spider tickles are her favorite to give to her lee

-Whenever she is finished torturing her lee, she'll make sure they're alive and walk away to avoid any more tickles

Kakashi

-You would think that someone like Kakashi wouldn't be ticklish

-Imagine Team 7's surprise when they found out that Kakashi was indeed ticklish

-He is a little embarrassed about it because the only ones who knew were Obito, Rin, and Minato

-Like Sakura, he isn't very ticklish (he's only ticklish in two spots)

-His underarms and hips seem to be the only places that get him to react in any sort of way

-It takes someone like Guy to hold him down and have him beg for mercy

-He can take teasing very well (unless his ler is Guy)

-His laugh starts out as loud cackles but eventually gets into a childish laugh with occasional giggles

-Doesn't squirm as much as his students

-But once he's a ler, his lees are all but done for

-He will slowly tickle his lee to get them to giggle and make them all red because slow tickles are unbearable

-He will make his lee wait for the big tickle attack he has coming, but he makes it so that it takes forever to come

-Sometimes he just quickly tickles his lee to make them think that he's getting serious, but he's just messing with them

-Sometimes he'll copy his lee's tactics on how they tickled him and tickle his lee the exact same way

-Once he's done tickling his lee to the point of passing out, he disappears, planning his next attack and expecting a tickle ambush

Kiba

-This boy is the ultimate tickle partner to have

-One of the few who enjoy starting tickle fights

-He is almost as ticklish as Naruto, being just above Sasuke by a bit

-He doesn't get embarrassed when someone tickles him (unlike a certain teammate who gets flustered just by the word alone)

-Although, he can't take teasing very well

-His laugh is high pitched and sincere, making his ler laugh along too

-He's ticklish just about everywhere, but his underarms, palms, and knees are the most ticklish (his ler should remember not to tickle his underarms for too long, unless they plan on making Kiba wet himself)

-The only person he's afraid of being tickled by is Kurenai

-His feet aren't that ticklish because he is used to Akamaru's fur underneath his feet

-He has the cutest giggles when his neck is tickled

-He squirms a lot like a dog and tries to tickle his ler back (most of the time, unsuccessfully)

-Once he becomes a ler, he is ruthless

-He constantly teases his lee as he wrecks them

-He uses his teeth to nibble on his lee's spots to get them to a pile of giggles

-Akamaru sometimes helps Kiba tickle his victims as well

-His sharp nails make slow tickles even more unbearable

-He only attacks his victims most ticklish spot whenever he and Akamaru are going to finish

-When he's done, he asks his lee is they're okay, and let's them pet Akamaru cause he's a nice guy

-Fun fact: Sometimes Akamaru goes against Kiba and tickles him instead, turning the tables quite quickly

Shino

-This man isn't ticklish at all

-Kiba tried tickling Shino once, but quickly became disappointed when he found out that the guy wasn't ticklish

-At least, that's what everyone thought

-Hinata accidentally found out that Shino was ticklish while training with him

-She promised not to tell anyone about his secret (until Kiba forced it out of her)

-Kiba tried tickling Shino's back and was satisfied with the result of Shino screaming

-His back is the only place where he is ticklish, and Kiba takes full advantage of it whenever he wants to be annoying

-Shino can only tolerate tickling as long as it's with Team 8 and it's in private

-Whenever he can tolerate it, he can't take teasing at all

-He isn't really into the idea of tickling in general though, and he really prefers to stay away from it as much as he can, but sometimes he's dragged into it by either Kiba or Hinata

-Shino is a decent ler that can follow and have boundaries

-Doesn't tease his victims

-Will not tickle for too long (unless his teammates ask for it)

-Sometimes he'll cheat and use his bugs to help him tickle his victims (but ONLY on Kiba, as Hinata does not like it)

-When he's done, he'll ask if they're okay and ask them to not bother him with tickling again (knowing that Kiba isn't going to listen)

Hinata

-This girl is too cute not to tickle

-She is a lot like Naruto, only minus the violent thrashing and kicking

-She is ticklish everywhere, her feet being the most ticklish

-Kiba likes to tickle her for fun because it's funny to see Hinata's reaction

-She can't take teasing very well

-She doesn't mind the idea of tickling, but she tries to stay away from it like Shino because she doesn't want Naruto to find out how terribly ticklish she is (something Kiba takes advantage of every time Naruto is around)

-Luckily because Naruto is so dense, he never found out (that is, until Kiba got impatient and told him because Naruto was too dense to figure it out on his own)

-Her laugh is adorable, and a lot like Sakura, a mix of giggles and squeals, with a hint of snorting and squeaking everything now and then

-Hinata will not become a ler unless Kiba or Naruto convince her

-Once she is a ler, she's gentle with her tickles, never going too rough with her tickles unless her lee really asks for it

-Unless her lee is Shino and Kiba

-With them, she's not the same Hinata she once was

-She will tickle Kiba and Shino without hesitation and with her Byakugan on to find their tickle spots and where they squeal the most

-She doesn't go for too long, though, and stops whenever her lee gets red in the face

-Once the tickling stops, she will make sure that her lee is fine and that they don't hate her for doing that

Kurenai

-This woman is a bit complicated

-She is one of those people who need to be caught off guard in order to tickle her (to date, Asuma is the only one who has been successful)

-Her laugh is a mix of giggles and squeals like her student Hinata

-She can take teasing surprisingly well

-Her most ticklish spot has to be her neck (that explains why she never let anyone touch it, especially Asuma)

-Once she's a ler, her victims had better hope that she's a nice ler

-Depending on who tickled her, how they tickled her, and how long they tickled her, she can either be a nice ler or an evil ler

-As a nice ler, she's gentle and quick with her tickles, blowing raspberries and teasing lightly as to not make them lose too much oxygen or get too red in the face

-As an evil ler, she's ruthless with her tickles, blowing raspberries, squeezing in some quick pokes and squeezes to her lee's most ticklish spot every now and then, and teasing every chance she gets, not really caring too much about how red their face is or if they need to use the restroom (and this is why Kiba is afraid of being tickled by Kurenai)

-Once she's done torturing her victims, she'll apologize IF she was the evil ler and will take her victims out to eat

-If she's done being the nice ler, she' won't apologize cause she knows that she didn't go overboard, but she'll still take her victims out to eat

Rock Lee

-Jeez, this kid just CANNOT catch a break

-Being just about on Kiba's level of ticklishness, he is almost always a victim to tickle fights

-Fortunately for him, he is one of the few of enjoy starting them before he becomes a victim

-His laugh sounds almost like Guy in a way

-He can't take teasing very well

-He's ticklish everywhere, but his forearms and knees have to be his weakest points

-Squirms like a fish out of water

-Sometimes kicks his ler if they're not careful (he can't control his actions sometimes)

-Once he's a ler, he shows almost no mercy and starts a tickle war with his victim

-He has observed Guy's way of tickling as well as Naruto's way

-He uses his speed to quickly tickle his victim and his strength to hold them down so that they can't escape

-Doesn't tease his victims because he doesn't know how

-He will squeeze his victims special spots sometimes just for fun

-When he's done, he'll ask if they're okay and apologize repeatedly for doing that (sometimes earning him extra tickles)

Neji

-This man is not ticklish at all

-I don't care what people say, you cannot convince me otherwise

-He finds it amusing how his ler tries to tickle him and quickly become disappointed

-Once they see his evil grin, they better run

-If they're unlucky enough to get caught, then they better hope that they live because NEJI HYUGA IS AN EVIL, EVIL LER

-He will tickle his victims nonstop until he's satisfied with what he gets

-Teases are a must for him

-Raspberries are only for those who must be punished (definitely not looking at Naruto, Hinata, Rock Lee, and Tenten)

-Once he's done, he'll have no regret of what just happened, but he'll make sure that his victims are okay

Tenten

-This girl is just like Rock Lee in almost every way

-She can't take teasing very well

-She squirms a lot, but doesn't kick

-She is ticklish everywhere, but her stomach seems to be the death spot

-She rarely ever gets to be a ler because she's almost the main victim of tickling when it comes to Team 9

-Once she does become one, however, she likes to play dirty

-She can and will use her wide arsenal of weapons to trap her victims and tickle them regardless of their endless begging

-Not too fond of raspberries or teasing

-She will sometimes use her weapons kit to tickle as well

-Once she's done, she'll let her victims go and promise to not go easy on them next time

Might Guy

-Another person who isn't ticklish at all, but unlike Neji, he'll play along and act like he is to trick his "ler" into letting their guard down

-Once he turns the tables and reveals the truth, his victims better hope to live after Guy's done with them

-He does it all (raspberries, squeezing, poking, teasing, nibbling, etc)

-He won't tickle for too long, as he wants his victims to at least try and either escape or fight back

-Once he's finished, he'll make his victims alright by offering them a deal of some sort

Shikamaru

-This one pretends to not be ticklish so he can avoid any tickling

-But his best friend Choji always ropes him into it somehow

-He's very ticklish everywhere (especially his belly) except his feet

-Will scream with laughter if he's tickled for too long

-He squirms a lot and tries to use his Shadow Possession Jutsu to escape, but fails every time

-He can't take teasing very well

-He snorts whenever his neck is tickled, and squeals when his back is tickled

-He also has a secret tickle spot that only Choji knows about and uses when Shikamaru either calls him fat (accidentally or not) or he's being too lazy

-Once he becomes a ler, he's the smartest ler that his victims will ever have

-It's as if he knows exactly where to tickle his lee

-He will tease and give raspberries, along with squeezing his lee's spots

-Otherwise, he will just use his Shadow Possession Jutsu to catch and tickle his lee if he's too lazy to actually use his hands

-Once he's satisfied, he'll release his lee and try to relax as if nothing had happened

-Fun fact: Shikamaru is cautious when using his Shadow Possession Jutsu as he knows that whatever happens to his victims caught in the jutsu, he's affected by it as well, so he tickles himself in order to tickle his victims because he can't feel it, but his victims sure can

Choji

-This big boned boy is quite ticklish, especially on his stomach and feet, which are his most ticklish spots

-He can't take teasing very well, but he can take it better than Shikamaru

-He is one of the few who enjoy starting tickle fights, even if he knows he can't win them

-It takes three people to hold this big boy down (or one Shikamaru)

-He has the cutest squeals and adorable squirm because he's careful not to crush or hurt anyone

-He always tries to curl up in a ball to reduce the tickling, but it doesn't really work

-Like Shikamaru, he has a secret tickle spot that only Shikamaru knows about (but Shikamaru only uses it when Choji is either being too much like Choji or he has to convince Choji to do something)

-Once he's a ler, Shikamaru will be praying for whoever is unfortunate enough to suffer the wrath of Choji

-Choji uses his weight to hold his lee down and tickle them

-He teases quite a bit and uses raspberries to really make his lee laugh

-He will laugh along with them because his lee's reaction is priceless

-Whenever he's finished, he'll make sure his victim is alright while eating chips

Ino

-This girl is pretty much Sakura, only her death spot is her neck

-Other than that, nothing else is different

Asuma

-Asuma is very ticklish, because he spent a lot of time with Hiruzen and Konohamaru, and found out just how ticklish he is

-Shikamaru was the first person on Team 10 to find out, and promised not to tell the others if Asuma managed to beat him in Shogi

-Naturally, Asuma lost and now has to deal with Team 10 and their tickle attacks

-He snorts and squirms a lot

-He's not ticklish on his feet, knees, or sides, but he's ticklish everywhere else (his underarms are his death spot)

-He can take teasing very well

-Kurenai loves to tickle Asuma's belly button because he has that deep belly laugh and he tries so hard to escape

-Team 10 quickly realized that they need to think about ever tickling Asuma sensei after he became a ler

-Like Guy, he does it all (raspberries, squeezing, poking, teasing, nibbling, etc)

-Like Kakashi, he copies whatever his ler did to him

-Like Kurenai, he has two ler sides: a nice ler and an evil ler (both of which are exactly the same as Kurenai's)

-When he's done, he'll always give his lee a hug and offer something to them

Gaara

-NOBODY SHOULD EVER TICKLE THIS MAN UNLESS HE IS THEIR FRIEND, OTHERWISE HE WILL KILL THEM!!!

-Tickling was introduced to him by Naruto and Temari, and ever since then he's been attacked with tickles

-He can't take teasing very well

-He's not as ticklish as one would hope, but he's decently ticklish

-He's ticklish on his belly, feet, underarms, sides, and knee area

-He squeals a lot and squirms a lot

-His laugh sounds almost child-like

-HE CANNOT STAND RASPBERRIES AT ALL CAUSE HE WILL FREAK THE FREAK OUT

-He actually had to be taught how to tickle by Naruto and Temari, something that he is thankful for cause now he can get them whenever he wishes

-He does not tease his lee, nor does he give them raspberries

-Rough tickles are his thing

-Can and will use his sand to expose his lee's spots more

-Once he's done, he'll apologize and walk away

Kankuro

-Oh boy, we've got another good one

-This boy is just about on Shikamaru's level, if not a little lower than that

-He has the cutest smile when he laughs

-His laugh is adorable and his snorts are even more adorable

-He is only comfortable being tickled by his siblings and Kiba (anyone else who tries will get sent to the infirmary)

-Temari and Kiba love taking advantage of this every time they hang out

-He's ticklish everywhere but his neck, and his belly is the most ticklish

-He doesn't really squirm that much, as he sort of enjoys being tickled

-One time, though, he accidentally punched Temari because he really needed to use the restroom and she wouldn't stop tickling his belly

-Once he becomes a ler, he become a fun ler

-He makes sure his lee is having as much fun as he is

-Spider tickles and nibbles are his speciality

-Once he's done he'll always give his lee a hug

Temari

-She's not tickled that often (with the exception of Shikamaru and Kankuro)

-She doesn't like her laugh when she's tickled, as it's high pitched and squeaky

-She squirms violently to get her let away from her

-She's not ticklish on her feet and stomach, and her death spot is her neck

-She's an evil ler once she becomes one

-Nonstop tickles and teasing

-Vibrating hands to make tickles more unbearable

-Whispering and blowing into the lee's ears to send more tickles

-When she's done she'll admit she had fun and plan her next tickle attack on her next victim

Aleks, I almost missed the post where you mentioned me, but here I am!! Life has been so hectic lately .. But Grandpapi Joseph Joestar is very hot & I will hear you out in great detail (I haven't watched jjba so I can only judge the vibes but they are very promising). Don't be ashamed, it's okay to love old men. I think he would make a great patient here at the Sexy Geriatric Retirement Home, me Kenjaku and Shoko can't wait to welcome him 🤩.

I did not participate in the recent leaks discussion here but I've been lurking!! Yuuta was soooooo ... dreamy sigh .......... I love him (and Yuji) so much, your honor.

By the way, I'm mad at Tumblr because it didn't show the notification for your answer to my most recent ask. I was a Naruto girlie before the jjk obsession completely took over me, so another notable patient in my Geriatric Retirement Home is definitely Madara Uchiha in his old, crusty, white haired version (I was such a Kakashi & Uchiha girlie .. Madara, Obito, Itachi .. even some Sasuke here and there but I'm nowhere as much of a Sasuke connoisseur as you 🙇!)

Aside from Madara and Hashirama, I loved the dads. Shikaku, Sakumo, Minato (dreamy sigh) .... Anyways, a honorary patient of mine is Jiraiya, even though he's not in Retirement age. What can i say? I love collecting gross/extremely questionable men!! It's my passion. The only old men from Naruto I won't allow at less than 5 km near me are Danzo and the Third Hokage. I would rather smash the Sage of Six Paths 🤩🤩🤩.

Old men aside, I hope your weekend is going well Aleks!! I understand your birthday will be soon? Happy birthday, as a fellow aquarius!! It's a fact we are the coolest (& most insane - I love the fact that Geto, Obito and the Second Hokage are all Aquarians. we are so insane).

If async Tori is playing fix-it, does she have any anxiety about the lack of Naruto? Does she feel obligated to solve the problems he was supposed to solve, like making Gaara into a real boy?

oh man. nah, tori is a largely selfish person, and she does not actually care that much about what is "supposed" to happen, beyond not wanting the world to end. she might have a fleeting moment of feeling bad if she kills off* or screws over a canon character, but she's not going to get worked up about people she hasn't actually met, and she's not going to feel about about characters not being born beyond maybe "this would be easier if someone else was doin this FOR me." she is not actually a very good fix-it fic protag. her list of things to fix starts and ends with "what do i need to do to protect myself and minato (who i have developed a semi-codependent bond to and i will lose my mind if i lose)." this does mean obito gets saved because she can't kill him without upsetting minato and possibly herself. zetsu has to go for obvious reasons. kushina is on her list of people no one is allowed to fuck with for "do NOT make the ten tails" reasons. helping gaara can happen if she suspects rasa has been replaced by orochimaru in a skin suit, just to nerf suna's ability to sic an unstable murderchild on them. she is NOT super worried about the lack of naruto's talk-no-jutsu because she wants to live more than she cares about gaara living

i am thinking she might do a few things to help akatsuki members out of sentimentality? like she'd probably not want to uchiha massacre to happen, and also probably want danzo out of the way because he's annoying. i was thinking she might just decide to go kill hanzo (pending me figuring out if this timeline makes sense) just to give her a feat, but her motivation would be one part sentimentality and one part "i don't care if konan and nagato want to make a missing-nin union, but if they end up super powerful again i would like them to like me." also imagine how unhinged this AU could be if tori was like "okay, i've decided to be ride-or-die for you, minato. you must go located an old man in a cave near kannabi bridge. while you're doing that i guess i will kill hanzo." and minato is like, "you will-- you will what"

i do think minato might actually want kids, and THAT might give her anxiety for a bunch of complicated reasons. tori doesn't really mind the idea of a kid running around but giving birth sounds horrific and then she'd have to deal with a baby? plus what if minato's genetics mean she makes a weird naruto??? his hair would look SO BAD on her face T_T

*btw in case anyone thought sasuke was the only canon character i would kill off in plasticity. this is wrong :)

21Chapter 28: SARADA, ITACHI!

Sarada stood silently before her mother. They were both in their kitchen, afternoon light calmly shining through the small window that sat above a leaking sink.

A quiet air spread between them. Sarada had always found it easy to talk to Sakura- she was willing to listen, supportive, and conscious of not only her failings, but Sasuke's. What's more, her Mom always tried the best she could to understand Sarada, and explain the things that needed to be explained.

Now however..

"Sasuke told me about him." Sarada met her Mother's gaze briefly, before moving from where she stood to their kitchen table. Sarada placed both elbows on the table's fine wood, resting her head on bruised hands while eyes glared ahead at nothing at all.

"I know there's more. There has to be." Sarada whispered.

Sarada met Sakura's eyes then.

"Itachi.. he was the same age as I am. To kill your own parents.."

Sarada lowered both hands down to the table.

She looked at them.

Stop shaking, Sarada said to herself.

The young Uchiha inhaled deeply before continuing.

"And I know there's more. He hurt more people, didn't he? That's why you can't find any records about the Uchiha. You guys tried to blame it on Obito and Madara.." Sarada trailed off, focusing dark eyes to the light of the window that shone beside her mother's face.

"I never wanted to lie to you, Sarada. Neither did Sasuke. But you have to understand how difficult this is for him too."

Sarada's eyes flared in silent anger.

"Him?" Sarada hissed.

"I had to grow up wondering why kids wouldn't play with me. Why people sneered at me, at the crest on my back. Why.. My dad has no cousins, no brothers, no parents. Why.. people hate me, sometimes." Sarada's eyes softened, genuine sadness replacing her anger.

"What if.. what if I died. Like Lady Shizune..Mr. Inuzuka. What if I got hurt like Hima, but never woke up? Sumire..it's almost as if she took Hima's place. Her parents.. they're.."

Sarada clenched a taught jaw.

"This world is so dangerous.."

Sarada finished.

Sakura remained silent, tears brimming over green eyes.

"It would've been so easy for me to die never knowing why, mom. And with everything else happening.. that reality.. it makes me angry!" Sarada didn't raise her voice then. But she spoke with such force that Sakura balked slightly.

Sakura bowed her head, pink hair falling over her eyes.

She approached Sarada slowly, before placing her hand on Sarada's shoulder.

She then knelt down to meet her daughter's eyes.

"I remember the first time I was scared for you." Sakura said softly.

Sarada furrowed her brows.

Sakura replied with a small laugh.

"Yes, I know. You're probably thinking I was always scared- fussing over you. But there was.. one day Chocho came over to play. You must've been five or six.."

Sakura looked away from Sarada then.

"It's so stupid. But you two were play fighting, with wooden kunai. She.. pushed you over, and stabbed you a little too hard on the arm. You didn't really cry much, but you screamed then." Sakura's smile began to fade.

"I knew you were okay, but.. the fear I heard in your voice.. I just.." a tear fled from Sakura's eye.

"As I held you.. I realized that very soon, once you became a genin.. that what I just saw could happen for real. The fact that you could die. That someone could kill you without a second thought."

Sarada looked up at her mom. Sakura closed green eyes, a pained smile writing over her face.

"And that would be it. No second chances, no hugs. If you were on a mission and I wasn't there.. anything could happen."

"That's why I wanted to make sure you grew up as stable as I could guarantee. I wanted to make sure you were able to learn how to defend yourself, how to succeed, how to use your power to stay alive."

Sarada felt a chill of understanding spread over her skin.

"Sasuke being gone for so long.. I can't.. speak for him. But in a way I'm glad, Sarada. Because I was able to be there with you, make sure you were as prepared as you possibly could be, make sure you built connections, had friends. Despite the hatred I knew the world would throw on you.. I'm glad that we're a team.. and I'm glad you formed bonds you can believe in."

Sarada crossed her arms, shutting dark eyes in defiance of rolling emotions.

She saw Boruto then- Mitsuki too. Sensei, Chocho, Sumire. Even Himawari, a sometimes rival.

All the connections she had formed on her own, despite the Uchiha name, despite Sasuke's absence.

"I'm proud of you." Sakura leaned over, embracing Sarada tightly.

"This isn't over," Sarada rasped.

"I know, Sarada. And it might not ever be. So don't forget..I'll be there for you, always."

Sarada accepted this, sniffling as she cried softly into her mother's shoulder.

NO.

"Uzumaki Fuinjutsu: Nirodha.." Screams filled the air. They trumpeted within Shin's ears, filling him with righteous anger and indignation.

NO! NO NO!

This chakra.. It's not coming from the Demon! It feels.. Like mine!

Shin slid backwards, moving the organs within his body as they increased their muscle mass and density. He then duplicated the production of chakra, stolen cells screaming in protest.

The false god, the black haired demon, still bled profusely. Now however.. the chakra that snaked about the demon curled in the air, tendrils of blackness whipping about in the form of dripping chains.

Shin's numerous Sharingan blinked in confusion.

A pool of chakra and blood formed underneath the strange performance, before sealing jutsu scribbled itself once more on the ground.

With a flutelike hiss, a blackened figure rose from cursed art. Two stones shifted about its cloudy body, before positioning themselves upon the figure's head as if eyes.

The figure crouched-

Shin's sharingan sang in a chorus of warning.

He leaned backwards as the Shadow's leg cut above him.

Shin focused his Mangekyo-

He ripped seven branches from nearby trees that his eyes spied from behind. He targeted the Shadow's body-

Shin flipped upwards, rushing ahead while the summon fled to the edge of the wood.

His Mangekyo traced its retreat with expert precision.

The wounds your summon suffers are no doubt linked to your putrid body! Shin cackled within himself- the prospect of victory spurred him further.

He dug into the ground, before throwing himself ahead with blistering speed-

By the power of the Divine Eye, Shin forced the branches into the Shadow's false body.

Sure enough, Shin felt them puncture skin and organs. Seconds later, he heard a gasp come from the demon-

One of his many eyes saw the demon fully fall to the ground, blood riveting from between robes.

Shin smiled, eyes leveling on the Shadow as it rolled about on the ground, in mirror of its master.

Good, then your jutsu will-

Sharp pain erupted from multiple points on Shin's body. He staggered as the branches he used to attack the Summon.. Were now embedded within Shin's own flesh.

Shin snarled as he felt jutsu, his own jutsu, ravage through corded muscle.

He fell onto his back, blood filling Shin's lungs.

Pain..?

Shin heard something. At first, he thought it was the ring of his angels- his loyal servants, his sons. The ones who will fulfill his will. But no.. it was the voice of him-

Shin can't be trained.

Flashes of light.

This was a mistake, Orochimaru!

Bubbling water.

That thing.. is a desecration to the Uchiha.

Shin felt as if his hands were desperately slapping against glass.

Koiē can be brought to heel. Shin.. needs to be destroyed.

Shin's eyes- all of them- opened in renewed fury and vigor as his wounds healed in superheated hisses.

The first thing Shin saw was the Shadow- it was only a breath's gasp above him. It primed its hand for Shin's chest-

Shin vanished within the whisper of the passing wind-

The Shadow cut harmlessly into the dirt below.

"You're certainly fast," the demon's voice lulled behind Shin's shoulder.

Shin twisted himself backwards just in time to catch the Shadow's falling fist. It was strong-

Shin forced his Mangkeyo to generate more muscle mass as he was pushed backward.

"You.. you should be dead!" Shin stammered.

Eyes on Shin's back widened.

The demon's nose bled, and his face was still bruised from Shin's direct physical attacks. But the wounds born from Shin's body jutsu.. Were healed.

The demon sat upright. His legs were crossed, while both hands were pressed together in an open moon.

"The Nirodha state.."

Shin's fear reached a new crescendo-

His voice is still coming from the Shadow!

"Allows cessation of such concepts. If not for a short while." The demon gave a sad laugh.

Shin disengaged from the Shadow. He pushed himself into the air, forming the bones and muscles within him into an array of spears that jutted between dozens of eyes.

He clapped mealy hands together.

"Body Carving Technique: Bonded Dance!" Shin bellowed.

His spears shot from his body as he plummeted back to the earth. The spears flew for the Shadow-

Chains of black chakra slashed from the ground, breaking from it as if, for a moment, the ground was water.

The chains wrapped themselves around Shin's projectiles, pulling them into the watery abyss they came from.

But-

Shin broke into movement, fueling his muscles to the point he created small barks of sound in the air.

Despite your strange summon..you still have to control it, Demon! And if I can delay it for even a moment, all I have to do is land a physical killing blow on you!

It was simple. Shin knew that the Demon.. somehow, would be able to reflect its injuries upon Shin himself. But the Demon seemed to still feel the pain of such- meaning..

If I do the opposite of what you expect.. increase the killing potential of my jutsu despite the risks..!

Shin whirled himself past the Shadow-

And directly towards the Demon. The demon's two allies stood still-

Shin suddenly reverted his attention back to the Shadow, who was nearly upon him. The Shadow tried to stop itself, no doubt anticipating Shin's intent.

But it was too late. Shin pressed his fingers into the Shadow's facsimile of flesh.

"Body Carving Technique: Miasmic Bone!"

A bouquet of chitinous spears erupted behind the Shadow's back- holding it in place as Shin's jutsu dug into bloodied grass.

And, just as Shin assumed, he once again heard the Demon gasp in almost hushed pain.

With an animal's bloodlust, Shin spun back around, clawing at the ground on all fours. His eyes fell upon the Demon, who looked at him while resting on one knee, fresh blood dripping from a slack smile. It was then Shin noticed the demon had four diamonds embedded within its cheek.

They glowed behind a cowl of black hair.

Shin could hear the Shadow approaching-

Free already?!

No matter-

Shin eclipsed the demon now- he smiled. The demon.. was small. Weak.

Nothing but a foolish perversion of god!

Shin returned the false god's grin, stabbing both of his clawed hands for the demon's neck.

"Uzumaki Fuinjutsu:.. Cessation Return."

It was now Shin who gasped. His momentum- the force of his physical moment-

Vanished. Shin stood as if a statue, dumbstruck as to what happened.

The Demon pointed.

Shin's hundred eyes flexed to look at the false god's finger-

A ripple echoed through Shin's body that reverted Sharingan back to their three tomoe state.

What is this-

Chakra coiled within Shin. It was from his own being... But it felt wrong. Almost..

Lethal.

No-

A forest of bone and muscle shot forth from Shin's back, blood falling from his mouth. He staggered backwards.

It was then Shin realized his body wasn't healing. Not just that.

It was decaying.

I'll have to use.. that technique!

Doing such would set Shin back by a considerable degree.. but he didn't have any other choice.

Come, my sons!

Shin urged the minds of the two angels he hid within the greater surrounding wood.

Instantly, two young clones zipped beside him, bodies aided by God, the true God's will. The clones bore Shin's blonde hair, and Sharingan that glowed underneath emotionless glares.

Despite their arrival, however..

I.. need to hurry!

Shin's legs and waist had already turned to ash. Without a second thought, Shin thrust his hand into the body of the clone closest to him. In the next second, Shin's previous form collapsed in a gust of deflated skin that shifted into dust against the kiss of wind.

"Body Carving Technique: Innocent Host!" Shin yelled from within his new body-

The clone was weaker, far weaker. But it was enough.

Shin's jutsu caused reverberations to shake the ground. His surviving son crouched forward, wings instantly birthing from his back, accompanied by a rush of smoking blood.

Shin melded his body into that of his clone's- doubling their power. Chakra fueled webbed wings that caught the wind, lifting Shin to the safety of the air.

The false god and his prophets made no move to stop Shin.

I still have.. the prime body.

Pain racketed through Shin then. His conjoined form dipped in the air.

The Demon's fuinjutsu.. seemed to still be affecting him.

To disfigure me.. a God.. the savior of the Uchiha..

Shin's mangekyo activated, the demon's sneering face reflecting behind Shin's pupils.

Shin had to kill the Demon. He must. His first act of Godhood demanded such.

The Uchiha.. his Uchiha, wouldn't be able to survive with such a creature lurking about.

He had miscalculated. This much was apparent. But..

Shin was alive.

And once he was within the prime body..

Rivers would be his.

Then.. the Uchiha will be fully reborn!

"TWO JONIN DEATHS,"

The rumbling of a railcar hummed with a comforting industry, thrumming the leather cushion of Tangura's seat. He wore the black tunic of a State Shinobi, headband tied proudly above thin brows.

Tangura's blonde locks fell over the headband, which held the image of a bird with a leaf gripped within its talons.

"And while one genin has been discharged, another has been admitted to their medical center. This all occurred in the past two weeks."

Tangura flexed his hand, opening cold fingers. Ever since Tangura was a child, his hands were always perpetually cold. People said that they were freezing to the touch.

Tangura smiled.

People often found him disarming.

"Are you listening to me, Tangura?"

Tangura's red-and-brown eyes rose to regard that of his partner, Kai Xing. The shinobi was dressed similarly to Tangura. Kai bore blacker than black hair, of which an ornate headband aided in keeping Kai's tall ponytail upright.

Open seeing Kai's expression, Tangura laughed.

"Before I.. left.. I proposed this railway. A plan to increase the village's infrastructure, help with medical emergencies.. general transportation."

Tangura sighed.

"I was young. It was one of my first acts as a Chunin."

Tangura's hand curled into a fist.

"My drafts were rejected." He said curtly.

Kai smiled, a hint of evil meeting his voice as he spoke.

"Perhaps your absence spurred second thoughts." He replied.

Kai's blonde partner smiled thinly, eyes meeting that of Naruto's as their train passed the stone faces of the Hokage.

"So it seems." Tangura whispered.

Why do I ship SNS?

It is a known fact that when people experience a good media, they like to discuss various things they liked, hated, interpret what the creator trying to say and get something from what they have consumed. Eventually people end up in a shipping war if there are multiple possibilities.

I started watching Naruto on a whim, hoping to see some ninjas in action with some revenge as a background (after all when you have power, there will always be a revenge). Am a sucker for revenge, btw. I am a person who hates romance in media. Because, every movie, book, novel, series has this same recycled romance plastered into every story even though the story don’t need at all. So, I am very tired of it. Every media portrays romance as something inevitable, necessary and something we can’t live without. That’s wrong.

Usually, romance goes like this... Person A sees Person B... they hate each other and add some possessiveness, jealousy... they magically gets attracted through some shared experiences eventually... they kiss and make babies. There’s nothing wrong with this. It’s just very tiring as I’ve seen million forms of this same repeated trope. I always cringe and yell “Can you give us something different? Grrr.....”.

And also, my motto is that love can happen with any person. It can’t be restrained into certain boundaries. So, I don’t like to put some relationship under an umbrella called Gay, Lesbian, Straight or whatever. Of course, illicit relationships and incest are not normal and am not okay with it.

With all that being said...

My experience after watching the Shippuden series until episode 478 was “Wait, do they love each other?”. I know am very late to realize this, but I have never even viewed them with any romantic lens throughout.

On my first watch, I was always under the impression that “They are friends”... But there are certain moments I felt “Wait, why are they doing like this which could’ve been handled in a different way!!” I will get to this later in this post. But those moments were overlooked by me because of my curiosity of “What happens next ??”.

And on my rewatch, it only confirmed my view.

The other popular ships like SS and NH put forth many points to invalidate what SNS represents. The most common being “They are reincarnated brothers” or “They are best friends”. Am just going to debunk them from my point of view.

Naruto and Sasuke are like brothers.....

Nope.

The best brotherhood title, in this series, should officially go to Itachi and Sasuke.

You can argue as much as you want that Itachi mindfucked Sasuke and killed his parents....yaada yaada....

It is repeatedly shown why Itachi put a curtain on his own clan. The reason is, Uchiha clan decided to forcefully take over the village. No matter how much innocent you are, you cannot take over something with force. Dot. I will write about this in a separate post.

In short, Sasuke realised how his clan members were wrong after hearing the story from the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju. That’s why he openly proclaimed “I am going to protect Konoha and become Hokage”.

Back to the topic, Itachi and Sasuke are blood brothers. If I ship them both, then what you claim is very valid.

The above gif says, “Sasuke, I know, I made a mistake by filling you with hatred. But whatever you decide to do from now on, I will love you always”. Meaning, He stopped treating Sasuke as a kid and accepts that Sasuke has his own path to walk.

This is exactly how brothers behave. I would do the same to my kid sister. You can see a fraternal instinct from Itachi’s eyes realizing that this is their last time together.

Another thing, Brothers trope always has this hierarchy.... Protect the younger sibling no matter what. It is evident from Madara/Izuna and Hashirama/Tobirama.

Not convinced?

If you pull the Indra and Ashura bullshit, let me tell you one thing. Indra and Ashura were separated and formed their own clan long ago. They eventually branched off into Uchiha and Senju clans. No way you can relate a century old blood relation as brothers. It’s just their chakra got reincarnated over and over.

Don’t pull up an incest angle between Naruto and Sasuke. Because they never shared a womb. Dot.

Naruto and Sasuke are Best Friends only.

You know what, you are almost right. I thought that for a very long time. Remember I never wore any shipping goggles ON.

There are two types of best friend categories. Best Friends without a reason and Best Friends through rivalry.

Best Friends without a reason in Narutoverse are: Shikamaru/Choji.

They just became friends and became BFF. They won’t fight or hurt each other. But when you have something to share...you would go to that person and share everything honestly.

Best Friends through Rivalry: Kakashi/Obito, Hashirama/Madara, Naruto/Sasuke

I really cannot provide more proof for the first two pairings as Best Friends as it is not the scope of this post. Although the latter two also qualifies for shipping category. Why?

Because, the common thing among them is that all the three Uchihas awakened/reawakened their Sharingan for their best friend. But Hashirama/Madara and Naruto/Sasuke are the only pairings to awaken or evolve Sharingan when trying to break their bonds with each other.

Special Brownie points for Madara. He had 4 brothers and lost 3 but still couldn’t awaken his Sharingan but when trying to break up with Hashirama, his eyes were brimming red.

Sasuke’s Sharingan matures in the first Valley of The End.

That’s why I excluded Hashirama/Madara and Naruto/Sasuke from this Best Friends list.

Because to the both Uchihas, the other person meant something special which cannot be comprehended into a mere term called ‘Best Friends’.

Which is exactly why Kakashi/Obito would perfectly fall into this category.

The way they quarrel, fight with each other, protect each other are perfect scores for a friendship. What makes them best friends is when Obito decided to give his Sharingan despite Kakashi was always putting a cold air around him and most importantly asked him to protect his love ‘Rin’. Also Kakashi carried his friend’s will to his heart and passed on to Team 7.

It all falls under ‘In the memory of my Best Friend’ trope.

Obito may be a trash but he is a good friend. Because after Rin was killed, he massacred everyone around him except for Kakashi. He could have killed him. Understandable. Or he could have plucked his Sharingan back (because he literally plucked most of the Sharingans from the Uchiha clan massacre and kept those eyes as a reserve). This could have enabled him to use Susanoo. I believe Susanoo can only be used with Mangekyo Sharingan in both eyes. But for some reason, he didn’t.

So what makes me think Naruto and Sasuke love each other, not as a brother and not as a friend but something beyond which I can’t term?

My way of shipping is not about marriage, sex and rearing babies. Because literally everyone does this as an obligation.

So, I don’t ship them in terms of living together in my headcanon and having sex daily. Nope. But it is not wrong though if you ship in that sense.

In this Narutoverse, Women are just some stow away pieces whose sole existence is to fawn over their dreamboy and cry for them. (Usually literally nothing useful comes out of them). Me being a girl, as much as I hate this setup but I have come to terms with whatever it is and have accepted it. If you are a girl looking for a strong female character...... this is not the place. Watch something else.

But I draw inspiration from male characters who are characterized deeply for which I have to applaud the creator. Reason being, the very first character which I connected with was Itachi. It was when Sasuke thinks about his past with his family in the flashback before the first VotE battle in part I. I will be writing a separate post about Itachi in this week.

In short, If you are a person who wants inspiration, draw it from male characters. Not in a single moment, you stoop so low for characters like Hinata and Sakura. That’s not how I envision myself or any woman. Dot.

With all this being said, I ship them as a couple who necessarily don’t have to get married or have sex... But they each other has some special allowance towards each other in their hearts which no one can touch, not even their wives or children.

This doesn’t mean I accept what came after episode 478 as they are literally something they made for $$$$$.

There are some basic traits which are absolutely necessary for a ship to sail successfully. They are Acknowledgement, Reason, No Hierarchy, Influence, Owning each others rights and Privilege. (All these reasons should come from both the sides for the ship to be worthy)

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Acknowledgement, I mean here, is to accept and acknowledge what they are to each other.

They both agree that they are Bonded/Friends verbally as well as emotionally.

To me, this is essential in any relationship especially for the ones you are trying to ship. I didn’t see this in any other ships like SS or NH where it is always one sided. Sakura confessed before the village entrance to which Sasuke said “You really are annoying!!”. Hinata proposed in Pain arc. Naruto didn’t even acknowledge her confession. He went on to beg for pardon for Sasuke. Again she proposed in the War at the expense of Love Cupid “Neji”. Naruto went on to joke with Minato that Sakura is his Girl Friend.

If I were in both of these girls place, I would literally be mad and drop this shit right away.

Wheras in SNS, I saw both the people I am trying to ship were asking “What am I to you?”, to which they reply “You are my friend”. To me this is very important.

Reason

To those who are saying “Love is blind”, “Love is Madness”, “Love needs no reason”, you all need self-evaluation. This is not some K Drama situation where you don’t need any reason. You should know why you love someone and why you need the other’s presence.

Naruto’s reason is very simple.

I could provide many reasons. But here, Sasuke, without any reservations... knowing full well of the consequence if he feed Naruto but still extended the helping hand to someone who was always hostile. It is just like what Iruka did. And many incidents which happened during Land of the Waves arc are evident.

He wanted to be friends with this lonely Uchiha boy way back when he was around 7 or 8 for a simple reason that he understands his pain more than anyone. But he really became friends when they were grouped together for Team 7.

Sasuke’s reason goes even way beyond when Naruto series started.

“Because he felt relief”.

Imagine a young boy who witnessed a massacre before his eyes and lost everyone he loved. But somehow another young boy of his age made him feel relieved. This explains why Sasuke went all out of his way to make friendship with Naruto despite being aloof.

Isn’t this what we want from someone we love?

Rather than being completely insensitive about an orphan life or just stalking from the distance and never offered any support, I would prefer someone who understands my pain from their heart and try to reach me. Sasuke reached out to him by offering the lunch and Naruto reached out to him by making him his rival and bug him.

NO HIERARCHY

This is pretty self-explanatory. Unlike blood brothers, there should be no hierarchy in a relationship I want to ship.

We saw Naruto yells at Sasuke many times absolutely for no reason, despite Sasuke bearing this cold attitude. Probably he is the only person who can call him by such variety of names.

Sasuke always calls him by his trademark ‘Usuratonkachi’. Sometimes he calls him fool just like everyone. But was never insulting or mean towards Naruto. Except for that time in the final battle, he made fun of his Shadow Clone jutsu citing his loneliness.

In short, be it a physical fight or verbal offense.... neither of them wilts like a flower. They equally give back.

The only other person who can verbally assault Sasuke is Karin and probably the only girl who never addresses him as “Sasuke-Kun”.

U-SU-RA-TON-KA-CHI..... Why do Sasuke spend such an effort to call someone with a 6 syllabic word, instead NA-RU-TO, a 3 syllabic word which is way more convenient to call?? I always wonder.

POSITIVE INFLUENCE

I don’t have to spell out anything here. There are many obvious examples but will try to keep it short.

Naruto became strong because of Sasuke. He trained hard for 3 years with Jiraiya , a month with Kakashi developing Rasen Shuriken and controlled Kurama’s power with Killer Bee. Except for Sage Mode jutsu everything he learnt was all for bringing Sasuke back.

In short, Sasuke is Naruto’s predominant strength.

Though Naruto was not the source of strength for Sasuke, but he brings out many vibrant emotions in Sasuke which he really needed for his traumatic mind otherwise he would always be that cold angry brooding doll without any emotions and I am sure Sasuke enjoys to banter with Naruto.

LOL!!! I don’t know why Sasuke feels competitve here. It’s pretty childish even for Sasuke.

Friendly tease :-) I think he also protected Sakura in this scene. He can also ask her the same, isn’t it? I mean as a friend.

The best one is yet to come

It’s incredibly hilarious to see how Sasuke pouts when he was with Naruto. Sakura!!!! You third wheeling joker :-D :-D

Throughout Shippuden, Sasuke never shows his emotions with anyone. He either looks very cold or angry.

Reminiscing his Team 7 days, for a split second.

Probably the only positive emotion is this, in all of the Shippuden. I mean not counting Episode 478.

I don’t think Sakura brought any kind emotions in Sasuke except annoyance when they were together in Team 7. Or Hinata too. These girls just moan “Sasuke-Kun”, “Naruto-Kun” but brings nothing to the table. Total wastrels!!!!!

OWNING EACH OTHER’S RIGHTS

This section is exactly where SNS moves on to a whole different level.

Sasuke wanted to inflict his pain over everyone who lives in peaceful Konoha for what it did to Itachi. (though I don’t really accept with Sasuke here since he never even bothered to question about his clan’s history, but what he was doing is understandable. Just like Naruto tells him).

But the context here is Sasuke is on a murder rampage. Starting from the Kage Summit, killing Danzo, unnecessarily hurting Karin and almost reached a point where he could not be stopped anymore. Then Ms.Annoying appears. She literally have no fucking clue what Sasuke is going through. So started to spout nonsense that she wanted to go with Sasuke-Kun with an ulterior motive to kill him without a strong resolve.

The interesting SS dynamics here is Sasuke asks Sakura “Do you know what I want?” and to which she gives a carefree-shitty-pathetic answer “I don’t care. I will do whatever you want”. Geez!!!

If I were Sasuke, I would think, “This person standing before me don’t even care about what I want but coming with an intent to kill me and not only that... she is a kunoichi from Konoha where I planned to inflict my pain by slaughtering them.. I better ram my Chidori and be done with it”... He doesn’t see her as his former Teammate. He just want to kill that person.

However, Kakashi deflects the attack and saves Ms.Useless.

( Me : I am a Sasuke fan through and through. But, Sakura..... You always says you will do this, do that.... But you never succeed at anything... Why is that? Why are you even continue being a ninja? No one asked you to kill Sasuke, you decided to. But why don’t you kill him. Probably you would’ve earned my begrudging respect... Pffft” ****sighs with a heavy second hand embarassment)

Anyways, Sasuke becomes an unstoppable maniac at this point because he was very irritated on seeing Kakashi and Sakura spouting some unreachable nonsense. So he started to attack Kakashi as he is even more irritated on seeing his Sharingan.

Again, Ms.Idiot wants to kill Sasuke when he is at his weakest point due to chakra exhaustion and that too from behind his back. (You!!! Gutless wrench). Sasuke sensed this and attempted to kill her again... (Naruto!!! You idiot. Why did you save her...)

However, Naruto appears and saves her. Naruto and Sasuke’s eyes meet each other.

But somehow Sasuke calmed down and hears out Naruto for what he has to say. He says, “Whatever you are doing until now, it’s understandable”.

Kakashi wanted to kill him and Sasuke got riled up and prepare his Chidori. Anyways, Naruto intervenes and they go to some meta physical plane and talks privately. And Naruto comes up with his idea and announces as below:

Me: Naruto!!!! Sweety..... Do you realize that you have a big dream of becoming a Hokage which you have been shouting from Day 1? But still you want to overthrow everything for that one person who is in unbearable pain. It’s alright. But you don’t want to go alone or send him alone. No Best friend would go this far. And to those Sakura shippers.... Why didn’t Sakura try to bear the burden? Why didn’t she come up with this Idea? Afterall, you spout nonsense like ‘Sakura saved Sasuke from Darkness, isn’t it?’ And, Naruto.... Who gave you the right to take his hatred and shoulder the burden? And what makes you think you are that only person to do it??? Sasuke, might have other special person in those 3 years. How can you decide on Sasuke’s behalf??? Aren’t you going overboard ?

The answer to all the above is simple, Naruto can risk anything for Sasuke. And he clearly knew that Sasuke’s only living bond is him.

And what happened next was almost unbelievable and for the first time I thought ‘What is it with these two guys?’.

Sasuke agrees with Naruto’s proposition to not destroy Konoha before fighting with Naruto.

Me: Sasuke!!!! You have every right to reject his proposition. Since, he was not in your life for the past 3 years, your side of bond with Naruto should have been cut-off long back, right? Sasuke??? Well, at this point he was just your former Team 7 member. You don’t need to honor your proposition. You can attack Konoha anytime. Why did you accept?

Also Me: Sweety!!! Why do you always question Naruto ‘Who am I to you’? Why do you need his opinion always? There is an annoying princess standing behind Naruto vying for your attention. And yet you didn’t even ask her this question at any time. But before Naruto, you completely calmed down from your rampage and willing to wait for what he has to say plus asking for his validation. After all you don’t care about anything, why just Naruto???

And the reason being, Naruto is still his closest bond which he couldn’t cut off despite trying very hard. After all, Many years ago, Sasuke was the one, who readily jumped in to protect Naruto knowing full well that it’s a trap. He was ready to throw away his revenge for this boy back then. Sasuke is afraid that he will give in to this bond once more and Naruto is his weakness which he wants to eliminate so badly.

This is definitely not any Best Friend would do..... Fix that in your mind.

The purpose of these GIFs is not show how protective Sasuke is..... Well, I can talk about it all day. Let’s save it.

Me: Yo!!!! Sasuke..... You wanted to kill Naruto.... You said so yourself under the bridge. Meaning, He is the only person standing between your goal and your resolve and Naruto is always known to weaken your resolve. And yet why are you protecting him here? There is absolutely no need. Because, if there is a situation like Kaguya where both of you are must needed to save this world , then there is a reason to save him. But why now? Plus do you know, if Naruto dies, then Madara’s plan may not succeed because if a Jinchuriki dies, tailed beast also dies. It is perfect for your Revolution, isn’t it? Who gave you the right to own his life? Obito has his reason to kill Naruto, why not let him?Why is it that you want to personally remove him from your life? If he is dead by an external factor, you can carry on your path without any interference and pain. Why go so far to protect him ?

The answer is Sasuke values Naruto’s life more than his own even during his Team 7 days. He has this high esteem for Naruto and almost consider it to be a shame if some worthless fool takes his life. And Sasuke never hated Naruto. He once hated Itachi and his resolve to kill was real and intense. But when Orochimaru asked him to kill 1000 people for practice, Sasuke never killed anyone. He even implemented no kill policy for his team “Hebi”. So, someone like Sasuke who never liked to kill random innocent people, how could he let some trash take away a life, he considers dearly to the same level of Itachi? That’s why in this situation, his body moved on his own to protect something special for him. He may not agree it, but he always shows it.

But some other ship wankers try to say Sasuke may have said “You are annoying” but inside he deeply loved her which is why he was smiling. If so, Why didn’t Sasuke never showed his care not even once? He not only tried to kill her twice when she was defenseless but also let her die twice or didn’t bother at all during the war. Or show me where these soul level connection happened between SS or NH

In short, Sasuke and Naruto own each other’s rights unconsciously. Because they are the only ones who can understand each other’s soul which nobody can reach.

Me: Oh, by the way Sasuke, I think Susanoo should be used like this. You really don’t need your hand to protect Naruto. Susanoo can do it’s work for you. Minato would be proud though!!!!

PRIVILEGE

Most of the points I written above are in and of itself is a privilege they give for each other and not for anyone else. Privilege is essential in a ship. Because it shows how different a loved one is from normal people.

For Naruto,

I originally want to put how he begs for forgiveness on Sasuke’s behalf before Raikage and weeps immeasurably before hyperventilating. But this one trumps the other. Naruto literally broadcasted everyone how important Sasuke is to him and how he regretted not offering his friendship at that time and how he couldn’t stop Sasuke from reaching Orochimaru.

If you want to inspire Alliance shinobi forces, you should have shown how you worked so hard from the bottom to top. Projecting Sasuke as your regret and inspiring people shows how deeply you prioritize this person which affects you after so many years and hence, you don’t want any more regrets.

It’s very unconventionally romantic which passes the shipping category in flying colours.

For Sasuke,

The following is the Land of the waves arc which was novelized in the name of Innocent Heart, Demonic Blood released in 2006. 99.9% of the material is exactly as it happens in Manga/Anime.

This is the privilege Sasuke provides for Naruto. “ But coming from Sasuke, It almost counted as a hug”...

BROWNIE POINTS:

Now, the following are the scenes which add a mysterious flavour to this ship. I sincerely don’t understand why Kishimoto put this. I mean I am absolutely happy with it, but why? What was he thinking while drawing these scenes?

It’s also strange that, whenever they clash a Chidori with Rasengan..... They always gets repelled to their own sides and fall with a loud thump. But Naruto’s posture looks very perfect, I mean it looks like someone carried him and laid him down. Anyways, What’s Sasuke doing on Naruto’s side?? He should have fell on the opposite side. Why didn’t he walk away? There is absolutely no reason for Sasuke to come over to Naruto’s side and have an intense meaningful gaze.

This is another mysterious plus intense scene. I am still wondering, Is this really Sasuke? He is a person who avoids casual touches with anyone other than his brother. I’ve seen so many times Sasuke rejecting hugs from Sakura. I can’t even imagine what Kishimoto was thinking.

If you people pass these scenes off as Brotherhood or Best Friend chemistry... Then you lack basic human emotions. That’s all.

Me: Well, Sasuke, If you really want to kill him, you should have shovelled your sword right through Naruto’s vital point when you made that exuberant landing. There is literally no need for you to draw a long sword in close quarters. And what about the Personal Space??? With your speed, you can land without leaning on Naruto’s shoulders...

Also Me: Yo, Naruto... You were panicking when Sai does the same....but you don’t even flinch when Sasuke invades your personal space????

Anyways, it’s funny that both the intense scenes I have mentioned here were initiated by Sasuke. Quite strange and thrilling.

So, to conclude.... All these scenes I have mentioned made me unconsciously ship them as a pair. With all these being said, I believe all the ingredients for a good romance were laid perfectly. A moment of impulsive tension or affection, say a hug, between them after a difficult battle could mess with both and make a romance happen. And I don’t think either of them will deny especially Sasuke.

I don’t see any of this aspect in other popular ships such as SS and NH. If I am Sakura or Hinata in this universe, I will not be okay with my pair doing all these things with other person. I intentionally left scenes from Episode 478 as it is so intense and require a separate post. I am happy that even without Episode 478, SNS ship sails high. So, I believe both Sakura and Hinata are still fourth wheeling their respective pairs in Boruto universe also, I guess.
