this is very nice actually thank you so much <3 <3 and like, i probably do need to give myself more credit in general but also i am still very much learning and stumbling and figuring digital art out (and for the most part it is so fun)

I’m gonna ramble about this a bit so bear with me and also i apologize lol, but that art was done after a month of getting increasingly more frustrated with everything turning out so badly and eventually realizing that I was trying to 1. copy a certain look/style that i’ve internalized is what fanart and digital art should look like and is very far away from my style/comfort zone 2. i was trying to do everything digital allows without being comfortable with it or understanding it

so (and this took me a month to realize ? ??) i did what i already knew from doing acrylic and oil painting in the past and could somewhat easily transfer to digital without having to know more than the basics, like i didn’t use a lot of the things digital provides or allows for. i used layers for my own peace of mind but without actually needing them and did some color adjusting (honestly, the color adjusting digital lets you do is such a blessing to me) but the only fancy way i really utilized the medium was making it a gif (which is so fun and a lot easier than i would have thought, like honestly watch me make any future art into gifs too) but there are so many things you can do with the medium with settings/effects, different brushes, tools to use in the process etc that i just do not understand what they are or how to implement them so i am very slowly learning digital art as a whole new medium rather than just being able to use it to adapt what i already know

#sorry you just wanted to say a quick thing and i went on a whole rant (welcome to my blog tbh)#like i'll watch tutorials and they'll be like 'and i just did an overlay and then a multiply layer in a good color (:' and im like ??? wdym #'a good color' what color is a good color? like i can put those effects on my work but that's just me clicking a button without knowing wha #will happen really and like i watch speed paints and see them do stuff and im just ? HUH? what was that and why?#i also do not understand a lot of these concepts with traditional art tbh like people will talk about under paintings and im like yeah sure #i hear you however i also do not- i just place a color where it should be and that's that which i know is why my colors often don't feel #cohesive which is also something i need to learn which is blah- im basically just saying i actually do not know any theory or technique #even with traditional it is all just vibes and hoping for the best which in the long run just makes me very confused about what i am #actually doing and not confident at all i'll be able to do it again so u know #we're out here literally just raw dogging art without any thought #but it's also just i do not need to do all those fancy things but i would like to understand them and i am excited to see my progress now #i just really had a shitty month of making ugly things up until now okay so i was a little fragile when i posted that #but people have been so so nice about it and ive been crying for two days straight #also people have been so lovely about the colors and colors are deadass the hardest part about digital like with paint you often buy a set #that already match and then mix them if needed and they'll look nice together but with digital you're just on your own- no training wheels #ask #anon

i think im gonna ask my therapist to get me an appointment with the private psychiatrist she suggested

#yesterday was kind of the wake up call #for a few days ive been feeling very little… still feeling bad but like sort of numb and i keep questioning wheter i actually need meds or #not which .. in any case i will not decide but a specialist will but anyways #and i was looking through book fairs and how to get appointments with publishers to show ur portfolio and just generally feeling like the #most incompetent person ever and also like i will never get anywhere because my style isn’t exactly what u see in most illustrated books #95% of which are childrens books…… and those styles are just different #anyway i digress #my grandma called and she was like what are u doing and i told her how stressed i was and i just started crying mid-sentence and i told her #i dont know where to bang my head anymore its too difficult and confusing and i feel like im just not good enough and im tired of trying to #keep it together.. she knows im not well mentally #like i was SOBBING #and she was like u shouldnt think like that u have to be patient keep trying and contact those publishers and whatever #and i get that she was trying to motivate me but i just told her flat out i. am. unwell. i dont know what to do anymore with this brain #and i asked her to please not tell me how i should think because i cant #and i know my grandad was there with her because he always is and he heard and like an hour later he came to my house to pick something up #and he was like ‘earlier i heard things i dont like’ aka me being depressed out of my mind #and then he said ‘we should talk about it sometime’ and proceeded to completely change the subject to his gums problem because he was going #to the dentist….ok #and the funny thing is things like this where people acknowledge that im struggling but proceed to say nothing about it keep happening #like i have a friend that i talk to very often and we say p much everything to each other but now shes working so she takes weeks to reply #and i told her i was doing VERY bad and of course she has her problems too… and she hasn’t replied to me in like three weeks or so #and she sent a text basically saying im dorry i havent replied yet i want to have time to do it well and hear how youre doing but hear this!#and proceeded to tell me stuff about her work and whatever… which is fine but dont tell me u care about how i am if u cant even check in #when u do have time because clearly u can send texts…#anyways im rambling good morning i already cried and its not even 9 great !!

I am ONCE AGAIN waking up from a nap on Friday evening to post Thursday Night Doodles and cackle to myself all evening about it >:)

Once I had the doodles for the Cold Front well on their way, the image of Fino and Fiera as that nihilism meme, you know the one:

Popped into my head unbidden and I IMMEDIATELY printed it to trace the poses and then give it my BEST ATTEMPT WITH THE TWINS. And y'all. Getting the stereotype one for Fino was a fucking NIGHTMARE. I have no less than SIX (6) skeleton sketches, one of which was basically almost done but wasn't crouchy enough lol. What a fun challenge that was!!

And, of COURSE, here are the sketches because A) I liked them just as much as the scans up there and B) THE SKETCHES ACTUALLY WORK SIDE BY SIDE FOR THE MEME! Whereas the SCANS don't quite--hence why they're one on top of the other, lol.

BOOM.

Do I have something for the Blinter? WHY YES, I DO! An IDEA. I have Blaise for sure but the one Winter's slotted as rn doesn't seem to fit in with the theme. Granted, she is the most unhinged of all the Frosts (it's where they get their shenanigan related ideas from lol) so it checks out that she'd be not QUITE in the same wheelhouse with their existential crisises but THAT'S FOR ME TO DWELL ON, AND YOU TO LAUGH ABOUT IN 3 TO 5 BUSINESS WEEKS :D

Random but wtf is going on with the comics? Why is the cowboy one #1 and the bane of blastaar one also #1? Are there two runs going on or something?

Oh it's because Marvel loves branding anything as #1 lol the cowboy one is the only current Guardians ongoing at the moment, with issue #2 coming out later in May. Bane of Blastaar was a one-shot and won't have any consecutive issues coming out directly related to it, think of it as a filler episode from an anime basically. In-universe it's set sometime after the end of Ewing's run and before the current ongoing.

Now there IS a current Avengers Infinity series featuring the Guardians currently going on Marvel Unlimited, it's set in the same vague point of time as the Blastaar one, it updates each Monday for the next few weeks I think? The Guardians seem to just be like guest stars featured in it though.

“is this your package?” jay said as he walked in with your package of new skirts and shirts you ordered using his card, “yeah and i used your card if it’s alright with you”

“asking if i am okay after using wow?” you turned towards jay watching his reaction, he never really had a problem when you used his card but it was in your opinion now quite rude not to inform him “jay im sorry, i should have asked babe” he looked away from your package he has been staring to you “oh? no it’s alright but i think it’s only fair i see what you bought with my card” he looked at you with a smirk “yeah sure let’s open it together”

“ah ah no not that way” you looked at him confused, “i want you to do a little fashion show for me princess, wear those cute clothes and show me just how pretty you are” he said as he kissed your forehead “oh yeah sure”

you quickly went in the bathroom to change into the new skirt you ordered “tada don’t i look like bella hadid” you said walking in as jay eyed you “you a little too short to be bella but you are still pretty baby” he said as he held your hands “do you want me to twirl for you” you said twinkled eye, your skirt for pretty and you had to show it off “yeah that would be good, twirl for me doll” as you tried to twirl he caught your hand and pulled you, making u land on his lap. “yn you are so beautiful” he said as he buried his face in your neck “and you are very pretty too jay” you said stroking his hair, he hummed as he kissed your neck.
