Hat - Jotaro x Reader
Word Count: 8025
You had been Jotaro's friend for god knows how long. You had been with him through pretty much everything.
And despite your feelings for the man, you never spoke them. You wouldn't dare. You were there when he had his fanclub, you knew how much he despised women pining over him. And the last thing you wanted was to ruin the relationship you had with him.
So you never made a move. Then, Jotaro got married and had Jolyne. It broke your heart but you were happy for him. With everything you had seen that man go through, he deserved happiness.
You continued to stick around. You were the go-to when he needed someone to watch Jolyne and the go-to when he needed to talk. His wife never really seemed to be in the mood to do so and he also never felt as comfortable sharing with her as he did with you.
And then, when Jolyne was about 5 years old, Jotaro and his wife got divorced. It had become clear to Jotaro that it wasn't working out a long while ago, but he stuck around for Jolyne's sake. In his opinion, Jolyne was the one good thing coming out of his marriage.
You were by his side through the divorce, helping him win points to get custody over Jolyne since her mother originally wanted to fully take her for herself. And with what you knew, that couldn't stand.
You, being Jolyne's standard babysitter, had often talked with the girl and right before the divorce, Jolyne had come to you.
"Y/N?" The little girl meekly approached you.
"What is it, Bun?" You crouched next to her to be at eye level. Something about the way she approached made you anxious.
"To be a mommy you need to love the daddy, right?" She asked and you furrowed your brows.
"Yeah." You nodded, unsure of what she was hinting towards and you didn't want to interrupt whatever important thing she wanted to say with the logistics of parenthood.
"Can you love daddy then?" She looked almost hopeful as she stared up at you.
"Wh-" You were a little taken aback. "I don't understand, Jolyne?" You stopped crouching and instead took a seat on the floor, sitting with crossed legs. Jolyne immediately sat down on your lap and put her hands on your chest, looking up at you with a determined look as she stared straight into your confused eyes.
"I want you to be my mommy. Can you love daddy so you can be my mommy?"
All you could do was blink for a few seconds. She wanted you to be her mom? On one end your heart melted that Jolyne liked you that much. On the other, you were confused on where this suddenly came from. She was way too serious for this to just be random rambling and it worried you.
"Why would you want that, Bun?" You started, trying to understand why she said what she did.
"So you don't love daddy?" Her gaze fell down, staring at her hands on your chest as tears formed in her eyes, little Jolyne trying so hard not to cry.
"Nono, that's not what I meant!" You quickly said and Jolyne looked back up at you, a little hopeful. "What I mean is, you already have a mommy and I don't need to be that to be here for you. You know I am always ready to come by, hm?" You gently smiled down at her and took her hands from your chest, wanting to rub your thumb across the back but Jolyne was quick to rip her hands away from yours, firmly standing up and leaning her hands against you again, this time being on eye level.
"No! Mommy is not like you! You are nice and you play mermaid with me and make yummy food. Mommy only does that when daddy is home late!" She yelled.
"Wait, does she not give you food?" Your eyes widened in shock. If that was true, it was no wonder Jolyne was sometimes super hungry when you watched her. You had always pinned it on her running around a lot that day but this put it in a new light.
"She sometimes gives me a sandwich. Daddy usually makes the food."
You knew Jotaro often cooked. He had voiced his annoyance about it to you several times, saying his wife barely knew how to cook and only did so when he wasn't home or came home too late to cook. However, with this information, it made you think that on the days Jotaro wasn't home, Jolyne was going hungry.
"Jolyne." The seriousness in your voice made her look up, surprised. She had never seen you this serious. You had gotten stern with her a few times if she did something wrong, yes, but never did you look so scary. Though Jolyne knew it wasn't directed at her. "Tell me, does your mother do anything else?"
"I mean, she never really wants to play with me. She usually watches tv that I can't watch so I have to go to my room."
"Does she hurt you?"
"No, not really." You let out a breath of relief as you heard her say that. Your face, to Jolyne's own relief, turned back to your usual more soft one. There was a small silence for a little bit, the two of you just looking at each other as you examined her, trying to think of how to continue.
"Are you scared of mommy?" You eventually gently asked and Jolyne finally sat back down in your lap. The two of you were just sitting in the middle of your hallway floor but you couldn't care less, your focus being 100% on Jolyne.
"A little bit." Jolyne confessed. Unknown to her, you had pressed record on your phone when you asked the question, just laying it next to you on the floor upside down. It felt wrong to do that when she was so openly telling you this in confidence but it was too important not to.
"When are you scared, Bun?" You gently asked, brushing a stray piece of hair behind her ear to help calm her.
"When she yells or picks me up from school instead of daddy."
"Why are you scared of her picking you up from school?"
"I'm afraid mommy will be in a bad mood again. When she is she always grabs me tight and pulls me along. I can never say bye to my friends."
"Wait, Jolyne." You held your hand up. "I thought you just said she doesn't hurt you."
"She just holds my wrist hard and takes me home like a mommy does. That's different from hurt, right?" Jolyne innocently spoke. "Though when you or daddy do it, it is not scary."
"Is she always in a bad mood when she picks you up?"
"Not always. Mommy says it's because all the other childs and parents are too noisy, giving her a headache. Or do you think it's because of me?" Jolyne then spoke, turning a little sad.
"Oh, no no, Jolyne. It's not because of you." You reassured her before getting an idea to hopefully cheer her up a bit. "Just between you and me, I think daddy gets annoyed by all the other children and parents too." You pretended to badly whisper into her ear and Jolyne lit up, a small giggle escaping her.
"Yea! I think so too!" She cupped her hand around her mouth same as you did, whispering loudly into your ear as if you both were sharing a scandalous secret. "One time, my friend's mommy wouldn't stop talking to him so when she wouldn't leave him alone, he just picked me up and ran away. We were going so fast!!" She giggled even more at the memory and a soft smile splayed on your face.
"Daddy does have really long legs, huh?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"One day, I'll be just as tall as him!" Jolyne then giddily shouted, throwing her hands up into the air.
"I'm sure you will." You smiled at Jolyne. You stopped the recording and urged Jolyne to go play with her toys. As you watched over her though, your mind was racing at the information you had just gotten. You had to talk to Jotaro in private soon to let him listen to the recording and tell him all you had learned today.
-
The recording, paired with the rest that Jolyne had told you, was enough for Jotaro to gain full custody of Jolyne in court.
During every trial and meeting, you were looking after the girl. She didn't really know what was going on but after you had told Jotaro of the things his wife was doing to Jolyne, he had asked you if Jolyne could stay with you. He immediately told you he was going to file for divorce and he didn't want Jolyne to be alone with his wife when that was looming in the air. He feared what she might do to his little girl.
You had of course agreed and Jolyne seemed a lot happier when you had told her she and daddy would be staying with you for the coming time.
Jolyne's mom had applied that Jotaro couldn't do this, keeping her daughter away from her, but after seeing the accusations being the major reason for the divorce appeal, it was soon decided by the judge that having Jolyne be in the care of a third party was best. Especially since you were a familiar one. And since Jotaro no way was going to stay in the same house as his wife, you offered him to stay at your place as well. You had the room anyways.
And so the time passed after the divorce was completed. The next few months going by calmly.
- - - -
"Y/N." Your name being gently called made you save your work on your computer before you poked your head out of the office, seeing Jotaro at the end of the hall, shoes on, hat on, jacket on, all ready to leave out the door.
"Yeah?" You questioned.
"Do you want to come along to pick up Jolyne from school? This morning she was blabbering about how she wanted to show you her new classroom and the art she made." Jotaro looked off to the side a little bashfully and you giggled softly.
"Sure."
Your response must have surprised him cause his head shot up in disbelief. You had already saved your work so you just walked out of your office, closing the door behind you and walking over to your year-long friend. He just seemed to be frozen while you sat down to put on your shoes, standing up next to him when you were done.
Sometimes you just forgot how ridiculously tall he was. This was one of those times. Silently snorting through your nose at the realisation, you put your hand flat on your head, moving it towards him as if to measure how high you stood compared to him but when you did, he immediately leaned back as he took a step backwards and took off his hat.
Your brows furrowed in confusion and you sent him a questioning look while he himself seemed to snap out of something, realising what he was doing. He quickly cleared his throat and stood normally again and, seeing that you were ready, put his hat back on his head. "Let's go." He spoke and opened the door, letting you out first.
- - - -
You and Jotaro were patiently waiting outside the doors of Jolyne's school. The car ride had been silent and you wanted to ask what that was about back there but decided against it. You didn't feel like prying and if he wanted to share, he would.
"Fuck, here they come again." Jotaro lowly muttered and you immediately slapped his chest.
"Don't curse, we're on school grounds!" You lightheartedly scolded him.
"Oh please, there's not a child in sight." Jotaro rolled his eyes.
"Oh really? I'm pretty sure I am seeing one." You retorted back with a smirk, pointedly side-eyeing the tall man in white next to you.
"Ha ha, very funny." Jotaro dryly said and you chuckled softly.
"Mr. Kujo!" A woman suddenly walked up and you turned to look at her in surprise. "It's good to see you again." She smiled sweetly and Jotaro hummed to be polite, tugging his hat down over his eyes in the hopes she would take that as a hint that that was that. She didn't take the hint and when you looked around you understood why he cursed earlier.
It seemed as if several of the moms standing around were at least casting glances at Jotaro every now and then, some just openly staring. Seems like his good looks and tough exterior were still as attractive as ever to others, you amusedly thought to yourself.
"And who might you be?" The woman suddenly asked and you snapped out of your thoughts to see her looking at you.
"Oh, hello I'm-"
"Are you his wife? I'm sure I've seen you here before, right?"
"Oh, no I'm-"
"Although I've seen another woman pick up Jolyne as well." The woman interrupted you once more, musing to herself. "Don't tell me you have a mistress now, Mr. Kujo. You bad boy." The woman swiped her hand towards the man, just barely short of sensually saying 'rawr'. And you saw Jotaro's lip quirk up in disgust. "Do you happen to take more than one~"
"She's just a friend for crying out loud, woman! Don't ever insinuate or accuse me of something like that ever again." Jotaro burst, though it was a lot more reserved than the last time you had seen him do it - when you were still in college with him. His eyes were still blazing with anger though and helped drive the point home. "Come on, Y/N." He then muttered as he grasped your wrist, pulling you along with him to go stand on the other side of the school grounds, far away from that woman.
"Man, you never get a break, do you?" You chuckled softly and Jotaro huffed, finally happy with how far away he was from the woman as he stopped.
"More than half of the ones that come onto me here are married." He grumbled and you snorted in amusement.
"Man, if I had what you had, I would have been married a long time ago." You joked but suddenly felt your wrist be squeezed tightly in response.
You hadn't noticed Jotaro was still holding onto your wrist but now that you did you lightly blushed. Jotaro realised where you were looking and he quickly let go, using that hand to pull down the brim of his hat, muttering something under his breath.
"What was that?" You asked, thinking he was talking to you.
"Nothing." Was all Jotaro said, still holding his hat down.
"Oh... okay." You nodded. "Kinda curious now though." You then joked.
"Fine, I said: 'I'm glad you're not'." Jotaro confessed, looking off to the side while still hiding his face behind his hat.
"Huh? How so?" You asked, tilting your head in confusion.
Jotaro had a hard time keeping his composure as he saw you do that adorable gesture but he managed. "If you were, you never would have helped me as much as you did." He softly spoke but you heard.
"Jotaro..." You placed your hand on his arm.
"Jolyne might've never talked to you about her mother and I never would have known what she was doing."
"You blame yourself for never noticing, huh?" You held a sad yet patient smile and Jotaro finally turned his head back towards you.
"I'm her father, of course I should have noticed she wasn't okay." His tone of voice was hushed, as if he feared other people would hear if he talked louder, despite the both of you being far away from any of the other waiting parents.
"Jotaro, there are some things not even you can catch. Even with your clever intellect." You said back, poking the heart-shaped badge on his hat playfully. "This has been going on since the beginning probably. You heard Jolyne, she thought it was normal. So there was no way for you to suddenly notice Jolyne behaving differently, because there was no sudden difference in behaviour to begin with.
"You always saw the happy, cheerful Jolyne, because she loves you. You treated her like you were supposed to and thus she always seemed so happy around you. Because she was." Jotaro was listening intently, listening to every word spilling from your lips. "Don't beat yourself up over something that you had no way of knowing. Your wife clearly knew it was wrong, given how she hid it from you."
"Ex-wife." Jotaro corrected you and you looked up at him to see the corner of his mouth quirked up.
Happy to see he had taken your words to heart, you smiled. "Apologies, that one is on me." You teasingly said back. "How about, instead of focusing on that bitch's past actions, we focus on how to make Jolyne's life a little happier?"
Before you knew it, you were flicked on the side of your head and you instinctively reeled to the side, clutching your temple. "Don't curse, we're on school grounds." Jotaro slyly said and you squinted your eyes, biting back a grin as you looked at the man.
"Oh please. I don't see a child in sight." You parroted his response from before and Jotaro leaned down to be on eye level with you, a smirk on his face as your noses were only centimeters apart from touching.
"I see a rather big one. Right here, in front of me."
"Do you?" You slyly said back.
"Very much so." He leaned even closer as he said that, his eyes burning into yours with an emotion you couldn't discern.
Just then, the school bell rang loudly, signalling classes were over and children started pouring out the front doors almost immediately, clearly having been waiting for the bell on the other side.
You and Jotaro jumped apart a bit upon hearing the sudden shrill sound and stood up straight, casually waiting next to each other as if none of that just happened.
"Y/N!!" Jolyne was quick to spot her dad as she walked out the school doors, given his size and choice of clothing, but her shout of happiness came when she saw you waiting next to him. "You came!"
You quickly bent down and held your arms open for her with a happy smile, seeing her run towards you at full speed with her arms already outstretched.
The moment she reached you, she jumped up and you were taken off guard by how high she jumped, causing you to tip backwards at the sudden and unexpected weight at the top half of your body.
Jotaro was quick to step in however and caught you before you could fall backwards, wrapping one arm around your shoulders from the back and the other around your waist from the front. This caused him to accidentally join in the hug huddle, Jolyne pressed in between the two of you.
His eyes were slightly wide, same as yours, while Jolyne was still giggling happily, not realising what was going on.
Getting over the slight shock, Jotaro quickly released the arm around your waist, taking a step to the side. The arm around your shoulder lingered a little longer however but you shrugged it off on him making sure you would stay on your feet.
Your attention was quickly taken up when Jolyne started squirming in your hold. "Y/N, come on!" You put her back on her feet and she was quick to grab both your hands with hers, starting to walk backwards as she tried to pull you along. "I wanna show you what I made!"
"Okay, okay!" You laughed slightly as she quickly pulled you along, looking back over your shoulder while you were being dragged away to see a soft smile on Jotaro's face as he was slowly left behind.
"Dad! You come too!" Jolyne's shout seemed to snap him from his thoughts and he wiped the smile off his face, returning to his usual stoicism as he started taking large strides to catch up with the two of you, Jolyne still very busy dragging you along although she had now turned around so she could walk normally, still holding onto both of your hands behind her back though.
You were going to get spine problems from having to bend down to hold onto her hands but oh well. How could you protest when she was so adorably excited.
- - - -
"How about some curry tonight for dinner?" You questioned as you opened the door, stepping aside to let Jolyne in first as she cheered loudly.
"Yes, yes, yes! Is it gonna be your special one?!" She excitedly called, bouncing in place before you shooed her to the side so you and Jotaro could enter the house too, Jotaro closing the door behind him.
"You want it to be?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes!"
"Hmm, I dunno." You teased, pretending to think as you placed a hand on your chin, tapping your lips as if in thought.
"Pleeeaaasseee?!" Jolyne begged, grabbing onto your leg and hanging on your pants, gently shaking the fabric back and forth under her small fists. "Daddy, help me convince Y/N!" She turned to her father before focusing back on hanging and begging on your pant leg. "Pleeeaseee, Y/N!"
Jotaro placed a hand on your shoulder and you looked back at him to see a half-smirk, half-smile on his face. "Please, Y/N." He indulged his daughter and joined in with a simple plea, making you have a hard time to hide your smile and keep up the act.
"Oh alright! You've both convinced me!" You called out, splaying your hands out as if in defeat and Jolyne cheered.
"Yay! We did it, daddy!" She went from your leg, over to her father's and hugged it for a second before rushing into the house.
"Jolyne, take your shoes off first!" Jotaro called out after her and she came to a slipping halt, turned around and ran back, took off her shoes, and was gone again. "Sometimes she has too much energy." Jotaro sighed out and you chortled a bit.
Quickly taking off your shoes, you placed them down in their place, picking up Jolyne's and placing them next to yours, standing back straight again to see Jotaro had taken off his coat and was now taking off his shoes as well, after having put Jolyne's backpack down that he had been carrying for her.
You noticed how he for once kept on his hat. Ever since he started living with you, you had taken notice of how he took off his hat at home. You never said anything of it cause it was all up to him but in all the years you knew him, you had rarely seen him taking off his hat, even indoors.
Maybe he just forgot it was till on his head this time. Oh well.
Walking down the hall back to your office, you decided to do just a little bit more work until it was time to start cooking.
About an hour later you emerged again, nearly tripping over Jolyne as she came running past right that moment, clutching a mermaid doll and blue ribbon, pretending to swim around the house with the ribbon as waves.
"Sorry!" She shouted back over her shoulder and nearly ran into a wall, turning the corner a second later as she continued going like nothing happened.
You chuckled softly as you went the other way, stepping into the kitchen. You took a few pots and pans out, rummaging through the kitchen cabinet for which size would be best to use.
"You want some help?" A voice suddenly said and you looked behind you to see Jotaro leaned against the doorframe, looking at you.
"If you want to, you don't have to." You smiled back before turning forward and hoisting the desired pan towards the stove.
"I don't mind." He walked up to you and took the pan from your hands, placing it on the right spot on the stove. "Besides, if you're ever not around and Jolyne craves your special Y/N curry, I need to know how to make it." He had a small yet sly smile on his face and you giggled softly.
"Well, put on an apron then Mr. Kujo and let's get cooking!"
"I don't need an apron." Jotaro rolled his eyes.
"Cook with me and your clothes are in danger unless you have an apron to protect you. And since you wear a lot of white, mister, it is extra necessary. ...I splash a lot." You admitted and Jotaro softly snorted through his nose, walking over to the hooks where the aprons hung and putting it over his head.
He suddenly seemed to realise he was still wearing his hat. Looking up at the brim, he hesitantly raised his hand and took hold of it, only to be interrupted when Jolyne crashed into his leg.
The girl didn't realise he was right around the corner of the doorframe and had cut the corner as close as possible, trying to go as fast as she could only to be met with thunder thighs.
The blue ribbon that was fluttering after her twisted around Jotaro's leg and tangled around the poor girl again, trapping her against her dad's leg.
"Oh, Jolyne." He sighed and leaned down, taking hold of the girl with one arm and the ribbon with the other, seemingly forgetting all about his hat.
"Sorry." Jolyne mumbled while her dad untangled her.
"Just stay out of the kitchen for a bit, we're gonna cook here." Jotaro shoo'ed her out once he had freed himself from the blue clutches and Jolyne was quick to be on her way again.
"I would have had a face full of floor if not a snapped leg." You commented suddenly and Jotaro looked up to see you trying to hold in your laugh at what just happened.
"That's cause you are a twig." Jotaro approached and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Not true!" You protested. "You're just crazy buff. Look at this overkill!" You said and swept your leg into his outer left thigh in a light kick, demonstrating your point as he didn't even flinch.
In a quick response, Jotaro grabbed your ankle, smirking as he saw your eyes widen slightly in response. With a quick move, he pulled your leg further towards himself, causing you to stumble forward and your hips crashed into his.
Given that you were still on one leg, your balance tipped backwards and for the second time that day, Jotaro caught you, his right hand on your lower back. It was technically his fault that you fell though, given that he never let go of your leg, the new, closer, position making him now hold onto your upper thigh.
Your breathing hitched for a second, your stomach pressed into Jotaro's as he held you close.
"Seeing how easily you fell from just a simple little tug, it seems you really are just a twig." Jotaro smirked as he leaned closer, his nose once again mere centimeters away from yours.
"We-we-we- uhm, we... should probably start the curry." You stuttered, feeling your cheeks burn. Jotaro was silent as he just looked at you for a few seconds longer before finally letting out a short hum, a small smirk still on his face as he let go of your leg, leaving you to place it down before he finally unwrapped his arm from your waist.
"Let's." He agreed lowly before taking a step back.
-
You had asked Jotaro to chop some vegetables while you were preparing the sauce for the curry, the rice already in the rice cooker.
"Y/N." Jotaro suddenly spoke up, still gently chopping away as you looked up at him. "You didn't send me the bill of expenses last month. Why?"
"Oh? I didn't?" You spoke out but purposefully turned back to the food, pretending to be hard at work cooking.
"Don't play dumb. You don't forget things like that so easily. Why didn't you send it." Jotaro now placed the knife back on the chopping board, turning his body around so he could lean against the counter as he crossed his arms over his chest, looking sideways at you.
"I just- I really don't think it's that important now, is it." Your tone was joke-y, trying to brush it off but Jotaro just sighed, pushing off the counter and walking towards you.
Reaching past you, he turned the burner down so that the sauce wouldn't be ruined and forced you to turn around and face him.
"Why?" Was the only thing he said as he stared into your eyes, keeping you at an arm's length.
"Because I think it is unnecessary, Jotaro." You finally admitted, sighing softly.
"Y/N, we discussed this. You're spending money on me and Jolyne and I want to pay that back. You're already letting us live here, stop spending more money on what you don't have to."
"I don't mind it, really." You put your hands on his biceps to calm him down as you saw him getting a little worked up.
"Do you really want me to mooch even more off of you?" He asked, incredulous.
"Who knows, maybe I'm trying to build a life-debt." You smiled.
"Y/N, I'm serious. Why do you keep doing all these things for me?"
"Because I like you and I like Jolyne. Don't you see? I care for you both." You said but then sighed softly. "Jotaro, you are my oldest friend. we've known each other for thirteen odd years now. We've been through hell and back and you've saved my life multiple times. I don't give a shulk about spending some money." You automatically replaced the swear word, it having become almost a second nature when at home since Jolyne was usually somewhere around.
Jotaro seemed tired and he just closed his eyes, pulling you a little closer as he placed his forehead on the top of your head and sighed out deeply. He either didn't realise what he was doing or he didn't care, but you were wide eyed as you stood face to face with his chest. You took note on how often he had kept you close to him today. Small touches here and there or bigger ones like this. Maybe he was touch starved or maybe he was tired, he sure did seem it.
"Y/N, you shouldn't have to take responsibility like that." His voice was soft as he spoke up, barely above a whisper.
You didn't dare move as the man leaned on you, just letting him deflate for a bit yet still answering in an equally soft voice. "Jotaro, I've got a good job but I am only one person. What am I gonna do with all the money?"
"Buy books, take a vacation, save for retirement. There's plenty of things." He spoke as if it was obvious. Which, maybe it was.
"They're not as necessary though." You smiled softly, even if he couldn't see.
"If you're not going to do those things, I will." He suddenly spoke as he lifted his head, holding you out again by your shoulders.
"What?" You looked up at him only to start a little at the uncharacteristically soft look on his face, a small smile playing on his lips.
"You've always been stubborn. And if you insist to keep refusing to send that bill, I'll just have to pay you back in different ways."
"You don't even know what things I want though." You teased and Jotaro sent you a warning look.
"I'll find a way to figure it out."
"Okay, do I need to be afraid?"
"Maybe." Jotaro smirked as he stepped away from you, letting go of your shoulders and walking back over to his spot at the counter where he picked up the knife, turning his head slightly to smirk at you before bringing the knife back down onto the chopping board, picking up where he left off.
- - - -
"Food, food, food, food, foodfoodfood." You softly sang in a made up melody under your breath as you set the table, Jotaro still stirring the curry for the last needed minutes per your order.
"Is the food done?!" Jolyne suddenly popped up out of nowhere, scaring the living daylights out of you as you jumped and let out a small scream, nearly throwing the cutlery in your hand.
"Good lord, Jolyne!" You exclaimed while Jolyne laughed loudly, clearly very proud of herself for scaring you like that, even if it wasn't intentional. You on the other hand, just placed the cutlery down on the table before leaning on the back of one of the chairs, groaning loudly as you tried to settle your racing heart. "Just go ahead and take a seat." You said to the girl, shaking your head a bit as you stood up straight again and finished setting up the table.
Pretty soon, the plates all had food in them and you put some drinks down, Jotaro brushing past you as he went to place the plates on the table.
"And voila! Special curry a la Jotaro and Y/N." You grinned as Jotaro placed the plates on the table, rolling his eyes good naturedly before sitting down.
You smiled and followed his lead, Jotaro sitting at the head of the table with Jolyne to his right while you sat to his left.
"Thank you for the food!" You said in unison (some more enthusiastic than others).
It was about a minute into dinner when Jolyne looked up at her dad and down at her plate, only to look up at him again with big eyes, almost as if she did a double-take.
She then turned her head back forward to face you again, though she kept her head down, anxiously glancing up at you every two seconds.
"Is something wrong, Jolyne?" You asked once you noticed. She stiffened a bit in her seat and your brows furrowed in worry. You glanced at Jotaro and crossed eyes with him but he seemed just as confused.
Jolyne then looked at her dad, her eyes gliding to the top of his head and Jotaro looked up, seeing the brim of his hat. He still had his hat on. Understanding why she was acting this way, he quickly took it off, setting it next to him on the table and Jolyne glanced back at you, seeing you just with the same confused yet calm look, making her visibly relax.
You were confused but Jotaro sent you a subtle sign to leave it for now, that he would explain later, and the rest of dinner went off without a hitch.
- - - -
It was a few hours later now and you were practically dead on the couch, the book you were reading just splayed open and laying half on your face - half on your chest.
Jotaro had just put Jolyne back to bed again after she had woken up and shuffled out to find him in his room - him now walking from her room over to the main room. The lights were dimmed, only a few lamps still burning while the majority of the room was shrouded in darkness. One of the lamps still on was the one hanging above the dining table, casting a dim light on it that illuminated a familiar shape.
Seeing his hat still sitting on the dining table, he picked it up before walking further, rounding the couch to see you lying on it, one leg splayed over the backrest and one arm hanging off, the book you had been reading covering your face and probably squishing your nose.
The marine biologist exhaled slowly in amusement as he saw you lying there like that. Putting his hat on the low coffee table that stood next to the couch, he went to stand beside you, gently grasping your leg and putting it in a normal position, doing the same for your arm as he then grabbed a blanket you always stored nearby, covering your body with it.
Last but not least, he grabbed the book from your face, seeing your bookmark on the coffee table and placing it between the pages before gently setting it down.
His eyes slowly drifted to your sleeping form and now that the book was off of you, he leaned down and lifted the blanket just a bit higher, tucking it around your shoulders before picking up his hat again and walking past you, sitting down in the chair adjacent to the couch.
He softly sighed through his nose, running a hand over his face as he put his elbows on his knees and bent forward.
He just stared at the hat between his hands for a while, the warm light from the lamp to his right illuminating that part of his form as his thoughts raced. Jotaro didn't know how long he sat there like that, the only noise really audible being your soft yet rhythmic breathing.
The badges glimmered in the light and he gently ran his thumb over it, his mind in a totally different place.
"If you think too hard you're gonna get wrinkles early, you know."
Your sudden voice made him slowly raise his head, his eyes meeting your groggy ones as a tired smile was splayed on your face.
"I've been thinking my whole life. Haven't got them yet."
"That's the mentality of a man who is pushing his luck." You chuckled lowly, leaning your head on your hand as you averted your gaze down to the hat in his hands. "By the way, I meant to ask, what was that whole thing about with your hat at dinner? I don't want to pry, but..." You trailed off a bit, looking back up to his face.
Jotaro had been tracing his eyes over your face as you spoke, now finally looking back into your eyes as you looked at him. "My ex-wife never wanted me to wear it in the house." He simply said and you furrowed your brows.
"Why?"
"Don't ask me." He sighed out as he stood up, walking over to the couch you were on. "Move. Sit up." He then said as he stopped right in front of you, flipping his hand up a few times to urge you to do it.
Your tired and still groggy ass did as he said and he sat down behind you, pulling you back down so that you were now laying on his lap; propped up in a half-sitting position, your head being held up by his arm.
"Oh, you're kinda comfy." You muttered, closing your eyes as you situated yourself a little more, earning a small snort from the man.
"Am I?"
"Mhm." You hummed before taking the hat from his hand that was resting on your stomach. You lifted your arms and placed the thing back on his head. "If you want to wear your hat; wear it." You softly spoke, that still tired smile playing on your lips. "I noticed you forgot to take it off today but you have to do what you want to do. You like wearing your hat, it was wrong of your ex to want to take it away from you."
"Maybe. But you saw Jolyne. She was terrified you would get mad at me for it."
"Then we just need to find a way to make her okay with it." Jotaro looked off to the side, a little conflicted and you placed your hand on his cheek, making him look at you again. "Jotaro, it's toxic things like this that we have to flush out. It may be small but it festers. So let's yank it out of your lives completely so that both you and Jolyne can move on, okay?"
Jotaro stayed silent but you saw a confirmation in his eyes and he barely noticeably nodded. His aquamarine gaze was gently tracing your face and you realised you still had your hand on his cheek.
The moment you went to take it off however, Jotaro placed his own over yours, keeping your hand pressed on his cheek.
"..."
Neither of you said anything, just sitting in silence as you looked at each other, yet your heart started beating a little faster, feeling his bigger hand encasing yours and the muscles of his jaw clench slightly.
You hadn't been this close to Jotaro in a long time, usually going out of your way to give him his space. But here he was. Holding you in his arms and close to him. Your heart was absolutely hammering out of your chest now, having gradually built up the longer the silence lingered; you definitely were wide awake now.
Slowly, Jotaro started to lean down.
"Jo-?" You softly started only to be interrupted.
"Hush, Y/N." He whispered.
Leaning his head sideways a little so the brim of his hat wouldn't get in the way, he continued leaning down further, his lips now ghosting over yours. His eyes were staring deeply into yours, a longing burning in them as he searched for any hesitation in you.
He didn't see any, and he slowly removed his hand from yours, instead placing it on your cheek as he pulled you that last bit closer, bridging the gap and pressing his lips to yours.
Your stomach twisted into a knot as he kissed you, but for once, it felt good.
His lips moved against yours, Jotaro pressing down firmly against your mouth as he shifted your body into his in a way that his chest lay against yours.
His heart was sporadically beating and you could feel your own missing a few beats, matching the pace of his, if not going even faster. Jotaro kept his lips on yours, softly sucking on your bottom lip as he kept in rhythm with you, gently brushing his thumb over your cheekbone as he couldn't seem to get enough of your taste, wanting to pull you even closer if that was possible.
When just that didn't work, he positioned his hand with his thumb under your chin, pushing it up so he could deepen the kiss, his lips moving with yours in a deliciously addicting way, one he never wanted to end.
When he finally moved back after a bit, the two of you were out of breath, panting slightly as Jotaro kept the tip of his nose touching yours. You felt his breath softly fan across your face, his eyes focused completely on you before he closed them and leaned down once more.
His lips softly pressed into yours, a sweet and short kiss that he broke two seconds later, only to go back in again, and again, and again. Never seeming to get enough.
His kisses were making you dizzy, clouding your mind. You never thought you'd be here with Jotaro; with him seeing you like you saw him. But here he was, kissing you and breaking apart, only to keep going back in for more.
Your hand slid from his jaw to the back of his neck, your fingers running through the hair resting there, gently scratching when he attacked your lips again with another kiss.
This one lasted longer, Jotaro firmly pressing against you again as his hand mirrored yours, moving to the back of your neck as he softly ran his finger over the skin behind your ear.
Even when you attempted to pull back for air, Jotaro followed for a second, not wanting to break the kiss until he relinquished after all, knowing he probably should.
You were breathing heavily, trying to get some air back in your lungs while Jotaro lowered his head to rest in the crook of your neck, his hat sticking out perfectly over your shoulder as he softly pecked the skin of your neck, innocently placing featherlight kisses on it.
After a minute, he raised his head again, silently letting his eyes glide over you as you sat before him right now, a loving look displayed in his gaze.
And then he finally spoke. The words you had been hoping and longing to hear for years, finally uttered as he sat with you on your couch, one side of his face illuminated by a warm orange light from the lamp across the room while the other side was swallowed up in the shadows.
"I love you, Y/N." He paused for a second, as if taking in the fact that he actually finally said that, before continuing. "I know you are too good for me but if you'll have me..." You shushed him by pushing your lips to his.
That was all he needed and he lifted you in his arms, turning you two around on the couch and putting you down on it, never breaking the kiss as he hovered over you, pressing his body as close to yours as he could.
He had both his hands cupping your face now, pulling the back of your neck up a little as he then let his right hand glide down to sit on your waist, squeezing slightly as he kept his body glued to yours, continuously kissing you.
The two of you finally broke apart after a while, yet Jotaro didn't seem in a hurry to get up, seemingly content with how the both of you were positioned now.
You let your eyes wander his face, openly able to stare for the first time and taking full use of it, seeing his plump lips slightly swollen from continuous use, a blush on his face, running from one cheek, over the ridge of his nose, to the other cheek, barely visible in the dim light but still there. And from there, your eyes glided up to his hat and the stubborn little curl that always peeked out from underneath it.
An idea suddenly hit you and you opened your mouth before smiling a bit as Jotaro gave you a questioning look, urging you to speak your thoughts.
"I think I might have an idea on how to make Jolyne okay with wearing hats in the house again."
- - - -
"Y/N?" Jolyne said in confusion as you came across her in the hall.
"Yes?"
"Why are you wearing daddy's hat?"
"Because I wanted to." You smiled and she tilted her head in confusion. "Don't you think I look cool?" You did a few poses and Jolyne giggled, still a little confused. "I like wearing his hat. It's a nice hat, don't you agree?" You questioned and Jolyne nodded, a little in awe. About a second later, Jotaro walked into the room, also wearing his hat and Jolyne gasped.
"THERE'S MORE HATS? I WANNA WEAR DADDY'S HAT TOO!!"
She ran over to Jotaro's leg and hung on it. Begging him to let her wear a hat too. Jotaro was quick to pick her up and suddenly pulled a third hat out of seemingly nowhere. "Then let's all wear hats today." He spoke as he plopped it on the little girl's head.
Jolyne excitedly gasped and her little hands shot up to hold the hat, feeling how it sat on her head. "Even inside?" Her eyes sparkled.
"Especially inside." Jotaro booped the brim of his hat into Jolyne's and the gigantic smile that appeared on her face was enough to brighten up the entire week.
The rest of the day was filled with a lot of hat boops, whenever any of you passed each other.

thoughts on part 4 jotaro?? i love hearing your thoughts in general but i so desperately want to hear them on this iteration of jotaro
VADE ur so sweet thank u so much for asking i owe u my entire heart and life <333
yes.. PART 4 JOTARO my pathetic little meow meow <333 ultimately my favorite iteration of jotaro
he's so maladjusted that it's hilarious. bro socks a 16 year old right in the jaw because said 16 year old's stand looked like the world. he is so totally not normal but he tries to be oh god he tries to be <3 he's like i am a normal man yes i have a wife and child and a degree i am So Totally Normal but then he stops time periodically and gets his ass kicked by a rat UGH so funny the flavor of part 4 jotaro is so fucking funny
um so speaking of part 4 jotaro;;;; i do think that before part 4 jotaro was actually a good dad. he and jolyne's mom still divorce like one year before diu begins cause this man is so gay and he cant stop lying to himself and jolyne's mom (well it's less he comes clean abt being gay just yet and more that he comes to admit that maybe panic marrying his friend when they found out jolyne was a thing happening to them wasn't the best idea but) BUT he is still involved and he loves jolyne and he and jolyne's mom are good tagteam parents they still lived w each other when jotaro left
but part 4 is where araki brings up the "standusers attract standusers" idea for the first time and thus it's the first time jotaro is faced with it...and he sees how it culminates in the deaths of a 13 year old (shigechi) and of a capable adult (aya), he sees how just being near standusers drags you in (hayato and shinobu, tomoko in the july 15th arc, etc)...and he realizes oh no it's not enough to be emotionally distant i need to be physically distant as well. and thus only after part 4 is he a shitty dad. which is part of why jolyne is so bitter; she was old enough to have solid memories of jotaor being a good dad and old enough to see that all suddenly go away. god dammit jotaro
anyway but beyond his parenting history i think too much about, i love part 4 jotaro so bad <3 insane grad student struggles. i know for an absolute fact hunting down kira was a destressor from working on his thesis cause 1) jotaro's priorities are insane 2) thesis work is fucking insane. esp cause I'm p sure jotaro was doing an accelerated program course to make up for the time he took off of school when jolyne was growing
god he's so fucking funny too. UGHHH okay this isn't related to the funny claim but fuck so many good fuckign character beats for jotaro happened in part 4 and it drives me absolutely fucking NUTS okay okay okay just being so kind with josuke showing he's learned how to be gentle even if he cant be soft and sweet about it like holly (his comforting words to josuke about his stand power for instance) arghh him learning how to tell people he cares for them verbally even if he'll never say it to their faces (like when he tells koichi he's a good kid when koichi is bleeding out lol). he's learning and it's foreshadowing for how he eventually is able to tell jolyne he loves her above all else ARHGHGHGH head in fucking hands
god i love part 4 jotaro so much also i. sorry I'm embarrassed. I've got it so bad for part 4 jotaro I'm not even kidding i want to smack him repeatedly but at the same time i want to dip him (yes he's taller than me by over a foot i still will dip him) and then kiss him so sweetly it's insane there are bugs in my brain. i KNOW jotaro would be a shitty partner to have i KNOW i wouldn't have the patience for his ass at all but part 4 jotaro with his desperate yet fruitless attempts at being Normal and his sense of humor and his learning how to verbalize what people mean to him just gets me so bad. i could fix him if i had a little more patience but as it stands i would want his ass in therapy right fucking now before making any moves on him. <3
anyway. thank u for asking vade i love jotaro specifically part 4 jotaro so so so bad <3

people misinterpreting characters is one of my biggest pet peeves ever. I really liked how you brought light to the fact that DIO is not as deep as the fandom makes him seen and Bruno is not a gold hearted ’mom’.
what other characters do you think are heavely misinterpreted? I’d like to hear your opinions. some characters that are heavely put ooc by the fandom (in my opinion) are Jotaro, Giorno, Johnny and Gyro.
Yeah, while everyone is free to their own interpretations, those are two that just really personally bother me. I don’t like to straight-up accuse someone on being wrong, but at the very least, I think the ‘mama Bruno’ interpretation is wrong and bad, lmao.
As for the other characters you mentioned? Hmm. Here are my opinions - as always, y’all are allowed to agree/disagree/have your own thoughts on them.
Jotaro - I don’t like seeing him interpreted as an uncaring piece of shit. Now, he does act like a shithead at the beginning of part 3 - calling your mom a ‘bitch’ is a shit move and he deserves to be called out for that. Just because he does good things doesn’t excuse his poor behavior. That being said, I think he’s a pretty complex character. He’s only 18 (after the retcon) when Part 3 takes place. Not only is he tasked with traveling cross-country to save his mom, but he’s forced to take on the Joestar family burden without even really knowing about it. He has to deal with three of his friends dying brutally and is forced to kill an ancient vampire that killed his great-great-grandfather. He also thinks for a brief moment that Joseph was killed by Dio - that’s a lot for a teenager. There’s no doubt in my mind that Jotaro suffers some form of PTSD.
He gets married, has a child, and then is forced into another dangerous situation thanks to his misfortune of being born into the Joestar family. It could be argued that he didn’t have to go to Morioh, but who else is there? Joseph is too old. Kakyoin and Avdol are dead, and Polnareff isn’t around at the time - so it has to be him. Now, I am not excusing the way he treated his wife and daughter at all. That’s all on Jotaro and his poor communication skills. I don’t think for one second he wanted to leave them like he did, but... It happened, and he couldn’t fix it.
One thing I don’t like is people saying we should forgive Jotaro for what he did to Jolyne. We can empathize with his situation, but it’s up to Jolyne to forgive him - it’s unfair for us as the audience to say she should have been more understanding. She was a child abandoned by her father - Jotaro could have handled things differently, and I think that there’s enough unsaid context to imply that he does regret how he handled things. A bad father can still love his child. I don’t think Jotaro is a bad person at heart. He’s incredibly selfless, but that selflessness also led to hurting the people closest to him. TL;DR - Jotaro is pretty complex and there’s a lot to his character, but people tend to focus on one aspect of him.
Giorno - I love Giorno and think he was very underrated before Vento Aureo was animated. I think he’s still fairly underrated compared to the first 4 protagonists, simply because he expresses things in a much different manner. Giorno acts as a protagonist in theory, but he is not a good person and that’s what I love about him. It’s made extremely clear (some people miss this despite it being explicitly said by Koichi) that he’s a mix of Dio and Jonathan. The ruthlessness of Dio runs through his blood, but so does the kindness of Jonathan.
Giorno is not boring. He is a calculating, cold, manipulative person. He is also an ambitious, caring, and highly-observant individual. Giorno is trained to hide his emotions, as per his abusive upbringing. Giorno’s smarts and capacity for observation are a core part of his character. He is quiet because of these traits, but I don’t think that makes him boring. I think it makes Giorno interesting and complex. A teenager joining the mafia and attempting a coup to take it over is... not exactly a normal thing. It’s what makes Giorno so scary. You know what he’s going to do next because he’ll tell you, but you won’t be able to stop him. And if you’re in his path? He doesn’t mind taking care of you. If you’re loyal, though, he’ll extend a gilded chain - the chain that makes him so intriguing to others, and the reason people are so eager to follow him.
Johnny - I know I just said I loved Giorno,  but I also really love Johnny. I don’t have as many thoughts as I really haven’t seen any conflicting popular interpretations of his character, but I’m sure they’re out there. To me, Johnny is very important. He’s outward with his depression, his self-hatred, his fear, his cowardice - it’s a big change from the previous protagonists. Despite this, he overcomes and finds his strength. I guess one thing I disagree with is the notion that Johnny is ‘whiny’ or ‘weak.’ I won’t spoil too much, but just like the other main JoJos, I think Johnny is a very complex character that Araki clearly crafted with care.
Gyro - I feel similarly about Gyro as I do with Johnny - I haven’t seen too many confliciting interpretations of him. I do think Gyro is more ruthless than some people paint him as. He’s not nice - he even says it! That doesn’t mean he can’t be silly or absurd. There’s a lot of facets to Gyro’s personality that make him the perfect companion for Johnny. (Or BF, hehehehe)

Part 3
"Des-pa-ci-to, na na na na na na na na na Burrito, pa ta pa pa ra pa pa na ra Secco, na na na na ta ra ta ta ta ta Procciotto~ Mmm...I love this song".
"Give me a break" Jotaro said, and his prayers were answered because the radio started to get all distorted.
"What the??" Noriko got disappointed and sulked as her song got ruined. Jotaro was smiling to himself from the inside, but the happiness didn't last for long when the car abruptly stopped in the middle of the road.
"The hell??" Mr. Kujo tried to start the engine again and again, but it didn't respond back.
"W-What happened??" Noriko asked him. "Don't know. I need to check the engine".
As soon as he said that sentence, on fat drop of water fell on the window with a thud, and it was soon followed by many and eventually it had started to rain cats and dogs.
"Fan-fucking-tastic" Jotaro remarked sarcastically as he slapped the steering wheel from frustration.
Jotaro noticed how Noriko was silent the whole time. He took a glance at Noriko and found her mumbling something to herself. She then rubs her chin, looks back from her seat and then opens her seatbelt and starts to get off the car.
"Wait, where are you going??" Jotaro took hold of her wrist to stop her. "Checking the engine. Why??". "Let me do that. You stay inside". "No, let me go" she struggles to get her hand out of Jotaro's grasp.
"Fine. Do what you want to" he then lets go of her wrist.
Noriko smiles and opens the door, but it wasn't even budging. She looks at Jotaro who shows her the car keys, which means that she won't be able to get out as he had locked all the doors automatically.
She glares at Jotaro and tries to get the keys from him, but he kept it inside his pant pocket, making it out of reach.
"Ha!! I don't need keys to get out" she smirks. She then goes to the driver's seat and does something down the steering wheel and the door opens with a click.
Now let's ignore the fact that Noriko had her boob pressed on Jotaro's knee when she was unlocking the door, shall we??
"How did you do that??" Jotaro asked her and Noriko just smiles and winks at him.
She then gets off and naturally the rain started to drip intensely on her. But ignoring all the awful wetness, she opens the front of the car and starts rummaging through the car parts, being careful not to disturb the other components.
Jotaro had gotten off too but he had an umbrella with him. He observed how Noriko was concentrating on her work and was not getting distracted by the cold rain.
Her whole attire was wet and Jotaro could see her small figure as her clothes clinged onto her body. He also noticed how the little girl was shivering from the cold, but still she was focused.
Her hair had turn darker due to the water and her hair waves had been straightened up, making her hair look longer.
The only thing which was intact was where her eyes and hands were and how her lips were slightly opened in order to take air in and out and also vibrating a little due to the cold.
However, her bangs were continuously disturbing her as they dropped on her face frequently. She always pulled them back but they kept falling on her face, hiding her vision.
To add some ease to the already struggling lady, Jotaro brushes her hair gently behind her ear.
Noriko looked at the owner of the hand with a slight hint of longing for a second and then continues her work. Jotaro's heart skipped a beat when the girl locked her amethyst eyes with his.
He was now truly in love with her, just like how he fell in love with his highschool sweetheart.
"Oh.....so the battery is dead" Noriko came to the conclusion. "Is that so?? Let me call the service center then" he was about to grab his phone.
"No wait" she stops him. She then looks around and sees a bus stand which was lit up.
"Perfect!!" she exclaimed. She then gets out the battery of the car.
"Do you have the battery charger??" She asks Jotaro. "Yes, I have it in the back". "Get it, quick".
Jotaro gives it to her and she then connects it to the battery. She then bites the other side of the wire's coating so that she could connect it with the bus stand's source.
"Pick the battery up and come with me" she orders him, and Jotaro picks up the battery and follows the girl.
The girl gets up the stand and rummages to find the wires which were connected to the source, and luckily she found it in no time. She then disconnects the wires and the bus stand's light goes off.
She then connects the wires of the charger to the source. It took her a minute, but after she was done, Jotaro was surprised to see that the car battery had started charging now.
Noriko grinned at her work and got off. She then casually goes and sits on the seat of the stand and looks up at the dark rainy sky while humming to herself.
"How do you know all of this??" Jotaro asked her with wonder.
"I worked as a mechanic at one of my part-time jobs, so I know the basics. Also, I want to become a mechanical engineer when I grow up" she told him.
"When I was a kid, I used to have a dream where I make a flying car which would be better than any vehicle which ever existed. It would be like a vision of the future" Noriko told him.
"That's great" Jotaro said. Noriko smiles at him. She then asks him "What about you Jotaro-san?? Why did you became a marine biologist??" Noriko kept her face on her palms.
"It's......a very long story" Jotaro told her. "I'm listening. We have a lot of time anyway. The battery will take only half an hour to charge, and I think Jolyne wouldn't mind us being a bit late" she told him.
"Fine.......I used to have these dreams........where I am standing in front of an aquarium and a plethora of marine species appear in front of my eyes. There were fishes, shrimps, corals and what-not.
But the most intriguing part was how my younger self and my lover were inside there too, and we were in each other's arms as we stared longingly at each other and went deeper and deeper into the waters.
Although the creatures of the dreams were always different in every dream, two things were common in it. One was us and second was how we pressed our lips against each other's as we submerged deep into the vast sea at the end of the dream".
"Wow, now that's very......poetic" Noriko was amazed.
"So was she your wife??" She asked next.
Jotaro shook his head no.
Noriko's eyes widen a bit, she then moved closer to him and asked him with curiosity.
"Who was she then?? Tell me!!" She asked like an excited baby.
"It's a he, Noriko". "A he??" Noriko raised her eyebrows, and Jotaro slowly nodded.
"Y-You mean, you are gay??". "I cannot really say. It was.........something that I had never expected from myself.
When I was of your age, I was not interested in girls as they were all annoying, and I usually got into fights with the boys.
He was a transferred student by the way, and our first time meeting each other was not pleasant at all, but I didn't know that eventually we would become so close to each other that we would be afraid to lose one another, and also that his death would still haunt me" Jotaro started to rub his eyes.
"Wait, he is dead?? What happened to him??" Noriko asked him. "I......He got a very fatal wound which literally passed through his stomach.....And I was not there for him at that time...........And he was only 17.........."
Jotaro's voice cracked at the last sentence as he had started to sob over his lover's memories. He covered his eyes with his hand but the tears weren't stopping at all.
Noriko's heart broke on watching the professor crying like this. She then moved more closer to Jotaro and hugged the man. She then started to rub his shoulder and back as she whispered sweet nothings in his ear to soothe him. Fortunately, Noriko was successful in comforting Jotaro for a bit as he stopped crying.
"I.....I'm sorry. I got a bit carried away" he wiped his eyes. "It's alright......I know how it feels to lose someone dear to you" she admitted.
"And you know what's the worst part?? I can never find peace ever again in my life after his death" Jotaro continued. "What do you mean??" Noriko asked.
"I got married and Jolyne was born. I was hoping to find love once more and have a normal family by my side, but it didn't work well. My profession had distanced me away from my family, and I had began to barely give any time to them.
I am also a target to one of the most dangerous people, and I don't want my family to be one of the targets because of me. That's why I got a divorce from my wife, and Jolyne now has an incomplete family.........".
"Yeah.....she had told me about the divorce. But I didn't know that you had left your wife because you wanted her to be safe"
Noriko then holds his hand and caresses it with her smaller ones.
She then smiles to herself and says "You are a very good person Jotaro-san. There is no way one can call you unjust or crude".
"The time when you offered to come with me to the hostel, I had already got an impression that you cared for me even though it had been only minutes since we met.
And the time when you defended me from that perverted manager, I got to know that you didn't like evil even a single bit, and that you protect weaker people if they are in trouble. Now that's a trait I love in a man" she told him.
Jotaro's cheeks got heated up and he looked away from her. Noriko chuckled as she spoke next.
"Not to sound creepy and all but, if only I was a bit older, I would have loved to marry you" she grinned.
Jotaro's blush worsened. He desperately tried to hide his face by hiding in his hat, but the red girl was smart, as she removed his hat and cupped his face. She then turned his head towards herself and pecked him on his cheek.
"A small thank you, for everything" she said and caressed on of the curls of his black hair. Now Jotaro was helpless, he cannot hide his flustered face now as it was fully exposed to the red lady.
She chuckled at the cute expression of the professor. Their relationship had now evolved from formal to informal from the very time Noriko kissed the man.
Noriko didn't regret it and Jotaro pretty much enjoyed it to the most. Speaking in a nutshell, both of their intimacy just went to the next level.
"Well, I think 30 minutes have passed now. Let's go home" she then lets go of Jotaro and goes to disconnect the battery.
Jotaro touches the cheek where the girl had kissed him. It reminded him of his lover's sneaky kisses which he used to give while he was sleeping or when no one was looking.
He also remembers how he used to hit him in the head for that and it pained the red head for the whole day.
*10 minute time skip, brought to you by Cock-yo-ween*
Both of them had now successfully reached home. They then got off the car, grabbed the dinner and rang the doorbell of the door.
Jolyne was quick to open the door. She then asked "What took you two so long. Do you even realise that it's 11 now??".
"Sorry, we had some problems with the car. The battery had died so we had to charge it" Noriko replied as they both entered the house.
"Alright. And what about the manager?? Did you kick his ass??" Jolyne asked.
"Ummmmm.....About that....."
"I had taken care of him for her".
Noriko looked at Jotaro with a bit astonishment. "Wait, you did?? For me??". "Yes. I wanted to--"
"Jotaro-san!!! Not fair!!" She then punches him in the chest and goes away in the kitchen to keep the food.
Jotaro then facepalms and mumbles "Ugh, give me a break". He literally saved her from harassment, and this is how she repays??
"Jotaro-san~ Huh Dad??" Jolyne was next to tease him. Jotaro blushed and looked away from his daughter.
"I-I just wanted her to drop the formalities with me" he defended. "Oh is that so?? Then what's that on your right cheek??" She asked.
Jotaro touched the area where she was talking about and felt something silky and slippery. He then looked at his hand and found a red substance which smelled like cherries.
"You might be wondering what the hell is this?? Well this is cherry lip gloss, and Noriko is the only one I know who puts it and she was with you the whole time, wasn't she??" She crossed her arms.
Jotaro was busted. What he feared the most has now happened. He braced for the harsh impact and was expecting Jolyne to shout at him, but all he got was his daughter speaking to him in a soft manner while holding his shoulder.
"You love her, don't you??" She asked her father.
Jotaro did not look into her eyes. Though her suspicions were correct, he was afraid to agree with her as he thought that it might lead to certain unfavorable consequences. He would have not given a shit to anyone else but this is his own daughter we are talking about right now.
"Dad, please tell me. I'm not going to judge you or anything" she assured him. He then finally nodded without saying anything else.
Jolyne was silent for a moment, processing everything in her brain. After some seconds, she lightly chuckled to herself.
"Honestly, it's not surprising to me. She really is an attractive individual. Not to mention, she really looks like your lover, uncle Noriaki".
Jotaro shot his eyes up at her face when he heard that name. So she knew it the whole time??
"Dad.....you have gone through a lot and you deserve to be happy. If being with Noriko does the trick then so be it. Although I'm sad that Mom was not enough for you, but it's alright. All uncle Noriaki wanted after his death was you to be happy, so do it at least for him".
"B-But what about--". "Age gap?? Are you really worrying about that?? You are Dr. Kujo!! The big, bad professor who doesn't give a fuck to anyone and won't hesitate to kick bones and break ass" she winked.
The alternation she had done to her sentence seemed to make Jotaro chuckle a bit.
"And also, remember how great-gramps married great-aunt Tomoko when she was way younger than him??".
"Don't compare me to that old man" his said grimly. "Alright, sorry. But you do get my point right?? Tonight, you are going to give it to her hard" she punched his shoulder motivatively.
"Give me what??" Noriko came out of the kitchen to see what was going on.
"O-Oh it's nothing Noriko" she grins innocently at her while keeping her hands behind her.
Noriko shrugs and then calls both of them to have dinner as it has been reheated.
"Oh great. I was starving anyway" Jolyne went to the dining room.
"Jotaro-san, come on". "Yes, coming" and he too joined the girls for supper.
*Time skip till bed time brought to you by the lazy author*
"I'm really sleepy now. It's good that I don't have to wake up early tomorrow and see Anderson's owl face" Jolyne yawned.
Noriko chuckled as she scratched her red head. "But that doesn't mean you are not going to study tomorrow. And do note that I am going to clench you hard".
"Yeah yeah I get you. It's better to get lectured by you instead of that excuse of a teacher".
"Oh come on, he is not that bad". "Oh he is very bad Noriko. Don't even ask me where he comes in my ultimate list of total bitches and assholes".
Both of the girls then laughed happily as they gossipped about school and many other things. Jotaro was happy to see both of them bond with each other.
It reminded him of when Noriaki used to tell him facts about everything he ever spotted on their way.
'Jotaro, did you know that Jaipur is also known as the Pink town??'
'Jotaro, did you know that Singapore is one of the greenest cities??'
'Jotaro, did you know that you have more than 100 million bacteria in our nose??'
Though it pissed him how he always acted like a nerd on a trip, he enjoyed listening to his factual rambling.
In turn, he too used to share some information on marine life he read in magazines and Noriaki listened to him patiently. A few kisses here and there were inevitable which made the session even more interesting.
"Alright then. I'll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight Noriko" Jolyne then retired in her room after their night conversation was over.
After bidding Jolyne goodnight, Noriko turned to the man who had his eyes on her the whole time. She then calls out to him with a small blush on her cheeks.
"Jotaro" his name slipped from her lips like petals, and it turned him on. The taller man approached her slowly, eyeing her from top to bottom. He then caressed her rosy cheeks and cupped her face, their faces only inches away.
Noriko was looking directly into his ocean green eyes, loosing herself in those orbs. Jotaro had his eyes on her plump lips as pink as peaches. She could not hold on anymore, and so could not Jotaro himself.
Both of them finally pressed their lips together and it was as if two opposite ends of magnets finally met. The kiss was gentle at first, but then it got more passionate as he pulled her closer by her slim waist.
The smaller girl had wrapped her arms around the broad shoulders of her partner. She being way shorter than him had to stand on her tippy toes to reach his level.
Jotaro noticed how she was struggling, so he offered. "You want to do it in bed??".
Noriko blushed a deep red, but then nodded at him. Jotaro picked her up in bridal style and she held onto him. He then took her to his elegant bedroom.
Though is was a decorated simply, it was looking very exquisite. The floor was wooden and it creaked softly under Jotaro's steps.
The taller man laid down the smaller lady slowly and carefully on the bed as if she was made up of delicate glass. The girl stared longingly at the man hovering over her as she leaned up to kiss his lips.

The Wildest Theories of Caato (JoJolion)
This might be my last post about analyzing and debunking the hype of Caato. Maybe some of you are also getting tired, though I myself am also tired with those Caatofags who still appear occasionally. Back to the topic, here are the theories I mean:
”Caato is a rock human with an agenda”
Tumblr media
Due to the strange shadow in her eyes during her first intro, the readers were theorizing about the possibility whether Caato is a fusion-human like Josuke or a rock-human.
But according to the colored manga, she doesn't have two different eye colors like Josuke. Besides, I noticed that Caato's eyes do not have the small cracks that signaled a fusion like him, only weird dark shadows.
Tumblr media
I have also explained further about this issue in my previous post below:
How the manga coloring team determined that Caato doesn’t have split eyes
So I will skip this and immediately explain the theory of her as a rock-human. If the basis of this theory is her so called splitted-eyes, this is less acceptable, because it is not part of the rock-human’s characteristic.
Tumblr media
Yagiyama Yotsuyu
Tumblr media
Dainenjiyama Aishou
Tumblr media
Damo Tamaki
Tumblr media
a rock-woman
Moreover, it also contradicts the need for rock-humans to blend with ordinary human.
The other basis of the theory is the youthful looking Caato had, especially when she was compared to Holy's first appearance. It has been explained that rock-humans don’t age gradually, instead they grow by molting and changing their form all at once. They have longer life span than ordinary human and can look much younger than their actual age.
Even so, her youthful looking had little relevance to the plot. I think Araki simply likes to draw hot milf as callback to Lisa Lisa.
This theory also continues with the notion that Caato has an agenda… or mission, either as an agent or the mastermind herself. Whatever the agenda is, it is also associated with Higashikata family curse, the hereditary rock disease. Readers have thought about the theory of how the Higashikata got the rock disease curse, one of them speculated that they were cursed by the rock-humans. I also believe that this has something to do with the rock-humans (hopefully Tooru will reveal it in the future).
From this speculation, a crazy idea emerged from a reader that there was a forbidden love relationship between a rock-human and a Higashikata (as a mere human), born of the fruit of love from them who since then passed on the rock disease.
Then the connection with Caato as a rock-human is that she had a role in Johnny Joestar's death and the birth of equivalent exchange ability in Higashikata’s land, perhaps the rock-humans also needed to obtain the Holy Corpse.
In her current mission, Caato approached the Higashikata and successfully married to Norisuke IV, which should have made it easier for her to complete the whatever mission. But on the way, she made mistake and accidentally ended up having four children with him. Hmmm… that sounds intriguing- nah, THIS SOUNDS STUPID!
Why would you make this mistake by accidentally having kids… repeatedly?? It would make sense if it is only once (like Diavolo->Trish’s case), but four times? I doubt they were accidents, of course they were planned as it was implied in the family tree.
In addition, this reader must have missed a crucial fact about rock-humans: they could not have children with ordinary humans as they are biologically incompatible.
Tumblr media
JJL chapter 46: Love Love Deluxe - part 4
If Caato is a rock-human, it is impossible to her to bear a single Norisuke IV’s child, let alone four- NO, it’s still possible actually.
!!! Spoiler of chapter 99 !!!
The most recent chapter of JoJolion (ch 99) added more information about rock-humans that:
Tumblr media
JJL chapter 99: Endless Calamity – part 5
Therefore, if Caato a rock-human, it’s still possible for her to have child with an ordinary human (Norisuke IV). Theories regarding rock disease curse as a result of “this relationship” have also become increasingly possible. However:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rock-women don’t have strong affection or bond to the child they gave birth and Caato certainly has affection and strong bond to her children as it was shown in her flashback.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Besides, the rock-baby at birth is only as big as beetles.
Tumblr media
And we have seen how big Caato was when she was pregnant.
Tumblr media
We’ve also seen baby Daiya in the flashback as well and how her children grew up like any normal human in contrast to the rock-human who lived as parasites in a wasp hive for 17 years until they began to venture into the outside world.
Wise non-Caatofag readers have said:
Tumblr media
I like how the chapter 99 raises the theory that Caato is a rock-woman, with the fact that only rock-women and humans can have children, and AT THE SAME TIME disproves it by literally showing us how rock-women give birth to their children.
If Caato was a rock-human then that would've meant everyone except Norisuke IV and Mitsuba were rock-humans, and Tsurugi wouldn't have existed.
Moreover, if Caato was the reason for the curse upon the Higashikata, what about Rina who also contracted long before Norisuke IV and his children were born?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JJL chapter 21: Shakedown Road – part 4
If indeed the Higashikata family was hit by a curse due to forbidden relationship with a rock-human, rather than Caato, I think it is more appropriate to suspect Teru (Norisuke I's wife) that she could be a rock-human.
Tumblr media
Caato was created as a comparison between Higashikata mothers’ role regarding of their decision and action in dealing with rock-disease and the knowledge of equivalent exchange as shown in JJL chapter 64 (her infamous flashback).
It is acceptable if this theory was created before chapter 64 was released, but pretty dumb if it came after the chapter was released.
There are still a lot of forced arguments issued by her supporters that you can read further here: Is Caato a Rock-Woman?
”Caato is descendant of Funny Valentine”
WHAT THE- How? I believe this is just a pure crack theory, there is absolutely no basis to strengthen this theory… other than their sorta similar hair curls:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second one kinda reminds of Valentine’s under the effect of Tusk Act 4
And a silly word play in which the connection between Valentine and Caato would form the word: "Valentine Card." If you want to use puns, I recommend learning Japanese first! Because the explanation of the name "Caato" as a reference to "Card" is much more complicated than you might think.
Other than that, their links are very far away, one is American and the other is Japanese, one is blonde and the other is dark haired, etc (it is still possible though, considering the generation gap).
Hair curls aside, the hype of Caato’s Stand which often compared to D4C due to the similarity of their theme and mechanism (dimension-based and caught-in-between) might strengthen the relation of her as Valentine’s descendant.
But I think this should not be considered, given that some Stand users with blood relations such as Joseph-Josuke-Jotaro-Jolyne, DIO-Giorno, and Diavolo-Trish, even Caato and her own children (etc), each have Stands whose mechanism, design and theme are very different to each other.
Perhaps this theory was created to validate Caato's relation with the Holy Corpse and her hype as the main villain. However, the main villains in JoJo never had blood relationship between them. Their relationship is only “causal connection”:
Tumblr media
and it should have been connected to “Dio” instead (LOL)
Besides, the curls in Caato's hair are also inconsistent, often not visible or even ignored.
Tumblr media
her hair resembles more like bee abdomen
Also, don’t forget how her hair looked in her first intro:
Tumblr media
where’s the curl? her hair looked very straight
She also has different hairstyle in the past.
Tumblr media
It is not her curls that are consistent, but her “twin buns”. Of course, based on her hairstyle, it will make much more sense to regard her as an AU version of Jolyne than to link her as Valentine’s descendant. Moreover, Araki also put some call-backs such as the name of the prison where she was incarcerated (Stone Ocean), the duration of her sentence (15 years, the initial sentence of Jolyne) and the reason of her incarceration (murder).
And last, this reader again missed (I'm more sure that he deliberately ignored) an obvious fact that Valentine and his wife had no children.
Tumblr media
SBR chapter 61: Both Sides Now - part 2
Maybe this reader used the argument that some characters in JoJo such as Joseph and DIO have illegitimate children they didn't know about. Considering Valentine's willingness to have sex with other woman and his relationship with his wife which implied not so harmonious (he didn't really mind his wife’s death & his wife was a cheater as well), he might accidentally sired bastard child.
But this possibility is not confirmed yet and it will be more ridiculous to use this unproven theory over the canon statement Valentine said in SBR chapter 61!
The idea of Caato as Valentine’s descendant is too silly and ridiculous, I’m gonna laugh my ass off.
Tumblr media
These theories are too far-fetched and extremely forced.

Note
I'm not sure if I'm kin or not, but anything (even just advice) for someone questioning Mrs. Kujo (Jotaro's canon wife from Part 6)? I really miss Jolyne and hope she's alright, and I'd like to reconnect with my Jotaro. I'm still in love with him, despite everything. All of the Jotaros I've met either really hated their wife (and may have not even had a daughter at all) or weren't married to me at all, though, so I've fallen into some despair/doubt.
Hi there!
I can understand the feeling of falling into despair because you are worried you won’t ever find your canonmates that you miss so much- it really is a heavy feeling and it gets you really down, huh? I’m sorry you’re struggling as much as you are! You’re very sweet and good-hearted, I can just tell! And I think you will find Jotaro soon.
Here’s the thing- chances are, if you are looking for someone so intently, they’re also looking for you somewhere, too! I’m sure your Jotaro and Jolyne do miss you very much and love you as much as you still love them! I wouldn’t doubt it.
Sometimes we have to go through a period of being without something to recognize just how much we really do appreciate it when it returns, so this time you’ve spent separated from your family will make your reunion even sweeter and happier than ever. It totally sucks having to wait for them and be worried you won’t ever find them. But it will be alright, I just know it. You will find Jotaro and Jolyne, whether they find you because they’re looking for you or you just happen to bump into each other.
I’m sure you’ve tried this out already, Mrs. Kujo, but canon calls can be very helpful! I have a few kins from JJBA as well and it’s been really helpful to me to actually come across people who remember me/miss me, whether I’m their canonmate or not! If you want, I can link you to some awesome canon call blogs (JJBA-specific and non-JJBA-specific) that can probably help you out. You are welcome to send in another ask for recommendations!
I wish you the best of luck in finding them. Please remember that just because you haven’t found them yet, that they aren’t here too or that they don’t love you any less! Their hearts will be so happy when you are all reunited, and since such amazing and unexpected things can happen at the most unexpected times, I am sure you will find them soon enough.
Best of luck, Mrs. Kujo! I believe in you and I hope you feel better soon!
