Rebecca is a 2020 British romantic thriller film directed by Ben Wheatley. It’s based on the 1938 novel Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
Hitchcock’s Rebecca has been one of my favorites movies since my teen years. When I heard they were going to remake it, I was like “NO, THANK YOU!” but then I heard Armie was gonna play Maxim De Winter… I was like “YES, PLEASE!”

All the haters and Armie bashers need to watch this. While I absolutely LOATHE Megyn Kelly, there is some excellent reporting here.
Armie is being vindicated and will be back. He was tried in the court of public opinion without any regard to his side of things. There has been plenty of evidence of Effie’s lies. And while his past behavior was not 100% innocent, he’s NOT a CANNIBAL or a RAPIST.
Those pushing for the fall of armie hammer can fuck off! EGBA 💙💚

The Exorcists’ Masks of Virtue
The vast majority of Exorcists in Hazbin Hotel have a notable design element that other angels don’t: their masks are missing an eye. Specifically, the right eye.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I believe this is a reference to the Bible, Matthew 5:29. Jesus says, “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”
He’s being hyperbolic. Mr Free Healthcare was not pro-mutilation. What he means is that you have to be willing to make sacrifices to prevent sin. The context of the eye metaphor is him condemning adultery and warning that even something as easy, casual and small as a look full of lustful intent can lead to further, worse sin if you don’t notice your sin, hold yourself accountable for it and do the work to not let it influence your decisions. This will probably be hard. It could be very, very painful. Changing your perspective can feel as horrible as plucking out your eye, so many people can’t bring themselves to do it. But although it won’t feel that way in the moment, it’s healthier for our general wellbeing in the long run to abandon traits and behaviours that damage ourselves and/or others.
(You may notice that Jesus’s teaching that you can have sinned, redeem yourself by giving up sin and thus escape damnation is the founding principle of the Hazbin Hotel. You may also notice that it contradicts everything the Exorcists believe.)
The Exorcists seem to follow this idea of painfully excising badness for the sake of the greater good devoutly to the point of placing it above teachings like ‘Thou shalt not kill’, with their job being to remove sin, in the form of sinners, to protect Heaven. Hence the missing right eyes. They’re a declaration of moral righteousness and inability to stumble.
But the truth is that the Exorcists all have their right eyes. Their flawlessness is a facade. Underneath, they are untouched, think themselves morally untouchable and, as shown by their horror and outrage when even one of them is killed, would much rather be physically untouchable too. This perfectly represents their complete unwillingness to acknowledge their own faults, let alone improve. They are never the ones who sacrifice. They force the sinners to sacrifice and don’t compensate it with any salvation. They metaphorically rip out the sinners’ eyes, but still condemn their entire bodies as inherently, permanently sinful. So they’ll just have to do another Extermination to get the other eyes! And another one to cut off their right hands! And so on until there’s nothing left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only exception to the rule is Vaggie, both in appearance and character. Her mask has the left eye crossed out instead. Even before her expulsion, she’s set apart to the audience as an Exorcist who has the capacity to, shall we say, see a different side of things. Her mask having its ‘sinful’ right eye reflects her understanding that the Exorcist worldview is wrong.
Tumblr media
When she almost kills a demon child, her hateful vision clears. She discards the part of herself that’s an unquestioning, merciless agent of death, terror and grief… and as punishment for what Lute perceives as treacherous weakness, gets her eye plucked out.
Tumblr media
Of course Lute leaves her with only the ‘sinful’ eye. It brands Vaggie forever as the inversion, a perversion, of what the Exorcists are meant to be.
Tumblr media
You know, all this talk of eye removal in the Bible reminds of another line - ‘an eye for an eye’. Adam directly quotes it in “Hell is Forever”. He uses it to frame the Exterminations as Old Testament-style punitive justice; the sinners did harm and so they receive it. But putting aside the debate about how ethical the concept of revenge is, the entire point of taking an eye for an eye is that it’s proportional. The punishment fits the crime. If someone cuts your eye out, you shouldn’t murder their whole family in front of them and then slowly disembowel them to death. That would be the sin of wrath. You should just make them pay without excessive pain or collateral damage. This is the fairest form of revenge.
The Exorcists don’t do that! The Exterminations aren’t proportional to the wrongs of all they hurt, nor was Vaggie’s brutal punishment equivalent to her extremely mild insubordination. Lute literally takes Vaggie’s eye, and more, after Vaggie does nothing to her! That’s the opposite of the phrase! Adam and his soldiers are wrathful and cruel, deriving satisfaction from others’ suffering. But they just can’t stop going on and on about how disgustingly evil the sinners are, in total hypocrisy… despite some of the sinners being far better people than the genocidal Exorcists are… it’s like they’re obsessed with specks of dust in the sinners’ eyes when they have massive logs stuck in their own. Oh hey, that’s in the Bible too!

I am not good with words. Nothing I can write here will express exactly how I feel. But the most important thing I want to say is to Armie. If he, by any chance, would read this:
Armie, I am heartbroken since I knew what you went through as a child. You asked for help and your parents didn’t listen. And then, in your adult life, During the pandemic, I had the feeling you were screaming for help, but it came a bit too late. I want you to know that I understand when you say you wouldn’t go back in time because all that happened helped with your growth as human being. I want you to know that you have my support and admiration. First I admired your talent as an actor. Now I admire the courageous man you are. I admire the fact that you are not looking for revenge. And you have my love too. A fan love but pure enough to keep you in my mind wishing you all the best all the time. Hope this love reaches you in any way.
I am here for you and will support you in anything you decide to do in the future. My selfish side wishes you go back to acting. But most of all I wish you be happy anywhere doing anything you chose to.
😘🤗

Comet we see scenes play through between the ghouls but can we see the buildup of a scene but at some point in it someone has to make the "mayday" call and the care following? Ghouls and content of your choice.
Safe word use, and some soft big boys (Swiss/Mountain) below the cut.
They've done this a hundred times at least. Played this through. Mountain has been here, face down, ass up, just like this more times than he can count. But for some reason, tonight, it's making his skin feel too tight. He's too deep in his head. Nowhere near subspace. His brain a constant hum of thoughts that this treatment is supposed to silence, but instead, when Swiss drags his claws up the back of Mountain's thighs--a threat for what's next--it makes Mountain feel like he's going to fall apart. He can feel too much of his body. Can hear his heart pounding in his ears. Mountain bites down on his cheek and tries to breathe. To focus. To drop. The sharp slap of Swiss' palm against his ass--and the plug buried inside of him--makes him yelp. Heat builds through his face, his throat burns. "Swiss--" "You love it," Swiss growls. And usually Mountain would nod, dumb already, but instead he shakes his head. He doesn't, not now, not like this. The false edge of Swiss' anger is making him spiral. He digs his fingers into the bed, his breath catches in his throat when he tries to calm down. Panic crawls up his throat. He doesn't know what he needs or what he wants but it's not--he can't-- "Red," he whispers then repeats himself a little louder, the word cracking in his throat. He feels a flash of worry as soon as he says it. Worry that Swiss will be disappointed in him--he's disappointed in himself. He should be able to do this for his partner, should be able to-- Swiss doesn't hesitate. He reaches for Mountain's hips and eases him onto his back so he can see his face. He kneels between Mountain's spread thighs and craddles his face in his overwarm hands. "Look at me, Mount," Swiss says. The demanding tone of his voice gone--like it was never there. Mountain blinks, directs his glassy gaze to Swiss' face. He's going to cry. "'m sorry," he mumbles. He's not aware of the tears until Swiss is wiping them away with his thumbs. "Hey, hey, Sunflower. It's ok." "Wanted to be good for you. But it doesn't--I can't--" "Stop," Swiss says firmly. "You are good for me. So good. Don't worry about that. I want to help, you have to talk to me, Mount. Please?" Mountain takes a deep breath. The panic is starting to fade. Swiss presses one of his hands over Mountain's racing heart and waits. "Don't know what the problem is," Mountain says honestly. He heaves out a breath, feels the world start to come back into focus. "It just didn't feel good. Thought it was what I wanted, but I can't right now. I'm sorry--" "No apologizing," Swiss admonishes. "There's nothing to be sorry for, Sunflower. Tell me what you need. Do you want something else instead?" Mountain looks away, digging his teeth into his cheek. He shakes his head sharply. He's done. Pleasure feels distant, impossible.
"No. Not right now." Swiss bends down and presses a kiss to the base of one of Mountain's horns. "Alright. Let's get you cleaned up then big guy." Swiss moves to pull away, to help Mountain up. No doubt to take him into the bathroom, to take the plug out with gentle hands and wipe him down, get him dressed. But Mountain catches him by the wrist before he goes too far. "In a minute." "You'll feel better after." "I know," Mountain agrees, but he holds Swiss' wrist fast. He tugs until Swiss relents and lays down next to him. Curling his broad arms around Mountain's shoulders. Allowing the earth ghoul to nuzzle his face into the hollow of Swiss' throat and breathe in the spiced smell of him. Swiss sighs, but tightens his grip. Pulls Mountain flush against him, using the breadth of his chest to envelop Mountain with ease. Mountain feels the tension drain from his shoulders. "Just a little longer," Mountain mumbles against Swiss' collarbone. Swiss kisses the top of his head. "Whenever you're ready."
