North Carolina’s GOP governor nominee wants to go back to an America where women can’t vote
Rachel Maddow, host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC, joins Nicolle Wallace to discuss newly resurfaced video from the GOP nominee for governor in North Carolina, Mark Robinson, where he states he wants women to not be able to vote, which is just another example of the extreme rhetoric coming from Robinson, and how he has become an acceptable gubernatorial candidate in a swing state for today’s Republican party.

3/26/2024-Chalamet led back-to-back box office hits for Warner Bros. with last December’s “Wonka” ($632 million globally) and this March’s “Dune: Part Two” ($575 million globally and counting). According to the studio, he became the first actor in four decades to star in the top two domestic films that were released in eight months.
Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, said they are “thrilled that [Chalamet] has chosen our studio to be his creative home.” As part of the first-look agreement, Chalamet can make movies elsewhere, but Warner Bros. will get first dibs on backing his potential projects.
“Over the last few years, we have admired not only Timothée’s commitment to his craft, which is evident in the range and depth of his varied roles, but also his unwavering dedication to give 100% of his time and attention to every project he has made here at Warner Bros. and elsewhere,” they said in a joint statement. “His collaboration on the campaigns for ‘Dune’ and ‘Wonka’ is something we all enjoyed immensely, and the results speak for themselves.”

I'm a fan of your writing and your awesome blog! Would you consider doing a post describing what being at Austin was like? Some of us are new here...
Thank you so much for the kind words, nonny ❤️
I haven’t really talked about it too much other than in DMs because it’s honestly kind of difficult…I know that probably seems silly, but even now 8 months and 5 days later I still get choked up. I’m going to try to do this in bullet points because I’m afraid I’ll ramble and get too emotional if I don’t.
It was very last minute. I think I learned about it just a week or so before the event. I had originally planned on just crashing the red carpet and even went so far as to visit the venue to scout the setup, but upon asking someone there what to expect the night of, she convinced me to buy a ticket, so I did and my nerves only got worse over the next several days - especially upon finding out after the purchase that it was meant to be a black tie event (cue mad scramble) - though apparently Timmy didn’t get the memo 😂
Skip ahead to the night of : 3 inch stilettos, ticket in hand, paparazzi in the parking lot. I sat in the car and had a picnic cocktail to convince myself that I (wallflower introvert) could do this. Felt utterly ridiculous grabbing my copy of CMBYN off the seat of my Honda to carry around with me. Didn’t exactly compliment my evening look. 🙄
Cue more cocktails and the wait begins.
So. Many. YoungThings scrambling to get closer as the hour approached. Felt totally out of place, but two Old Fashioneds in helped with that. (no, I don’t normally drink this much) I was hella grateful to have a wristband that gave me access beyond the ropes because I would have lost my shit in that madness.
They finally arrive amid much screaming. (Please, excuse picture quality - it was dark and my hands were shaking)

They were super charming. Greeting fans and posing for pictures.
I was standing this close to Liz for a solid 10 minutes but was too shy to say anything….
Tumblr media
Timmy was a whirling dervish. Spinning up and down the red carpet, disappearing behind the backdrop and coming back to sign more things and pose for pictures.

I met Armie. Politely asked if I could take his picture as he signed my book. He was very sweet ’Of course!’ and did this awkward little thumbs up 😆
Tumblr media
P.S - he’s So Super Slender and TALL AF in person…I was overwhelmed. I mean, in person, that close, he is supernaturally beautiful.
The exact moment my heart stopped. Timmy looked right at me and did I hold up my book and call to him? Nope. Froze like a deer in headlights.
Tumblr media
Still kicking myself for that…even to this day.
You’ve seen the speech. You know the feels. Multiply that by about a thousand and you might come close to the truth of it. *pauses to have a cry*
More cocktails.
Sitting on a bench with a lovely lady and having a chat with her about ditching the heels and taking off the makeup….only to realize after the fact that she was there for a panel as well? I still can’t remember her name, but saw some footage of her on stage later and laughed at myself. Stars. They’re just like us.
Also had a five minute conversation with Mike Judge out front while I was sneaking a vape to calm my nerves. Didn’t even realize who he was? After chatting for a few minutes about always running late (a subject I’m very familiar with) I asked if he came to many of these events and he said ‘Yeah, well, I’m an inductee, so I come every year.’ and then an escort whisked him away to go find his seat. Security guard just shook their head at me with this pitying expression and said, ’That was Mike Judge. You know? Beavis and Butthead.’ *epic facepalm*
Sitting in the lobby between theaters taking an emotional breather and suddenly Armie is just THERE breezing though and asking someone where the bathroom is. My jaw dropped. Like? What? (adding this one because I need a laugh right about now)
Tumblr media
The formal event ends and the after party commences. Lots of cocktails and food. I’m too nervous to eat, but feeling pleasantly buzzed as I wait TIL TWO FUCKING AM for them to make an appearance…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They never did….
Opted instead to hang out in the green room for the rest of the night (I’ve seen a couple of pictures floating around out there of them around a low cocktail table)
Finally one of the ladies that worked for AFS came and plopped down beside me on one of the sofas and asked who I was waiting for (she had noticed me flying solo all through the night) and I told her that I was hoping that they might come out to the party so that I could get Tim’s signature. She was super sweet and told me to hang tight while she went to check. Came back and said they had just left, so I called it a night.
Caught a glimpse of their vehicles idling in the parking lot before they pulled away and debated being rude and walking up to them, but summoned my last remaining crumb of dignity and drove away with equal parts elation and heavy heartedness at only getting to meet one of them.
Overall it was an amazing night. Very emotional. Very surreal. I was stupid proud of Armie, floored by Timmy’s speech and so grateful that I had the opportunity to be there to witness it all.
*Next time I definitely need to take an extroverted friend along with me for a bit of courage. Going to an event like this was way out of my comfort zone to begin with, but I’ll be damned if I ever freeze up like that again!
✌🏼️💗🍑
