Nope, I kept their classes to those in canon, though there are a few who I think suit some of my custom classes better. Most of my OCs do, though, primarily to avoid repeat classpects.

I will say, our DID specialist therapist never formally named any approaches he did other than when we SPECIFICALLY tried brain spotting but WHATEVER it was it worked so

TBH I think he rarely named approaches cause I - particularly as Riku 1.0 - am a nerd on that and would always hyperintellectualize it to the point that Id be using the nerdiness as a distraction and itd be heavily less effective

But hey whatever it is 10/10. He did amazing.

When this movie is focused on the titular Brief interviews, even shot out like scenes in a movie rather than static in front of a microphone, do an incredible job driving home how utterly mundane the eponymous Hideous Men are. It speaks to the kind of banal insecurity and indifference and casual misogyny present in the text.

When it’s focused on Julianne Nicholson it plays like the short films people I knew in college would make, but it’s kind of interesting to follow a professional woman in academia and show her day to day and hear the conversations she overhears ranging from crass objectification by traveling businessmen to the hyperintellectual sophistry of her peers, all of them men talking about women in alienating ways.

Splicing the two together makes this movie worse because it happens in the aftermath of a breakup and either deliberately or by accident the interviews are framed as her looking for an answer. Because an academic anthropologist who happens to be a woman would never have had these thoughts and observations before a sudden breakup, I guess.

Why does this "dark academia aesthetic" sound so annoyingly pretentious? And not in a "wOw YoU'rE sO eLoqUeNt & uSe DeEp WoRdS" way, but in like an annoyingly "pretending to be this lone hyperintellectual to gain online attention" persona? It's so desperate lol

I liked this aesthetic before it was “cool”. I didn’t know what the word “aesthetic” meant, I didn’t even know there was a name for it, I was just a girl in high school who liked art, languages and literature™. I had talent, I was the top student of my school (both socially and academically) and I thought following my dreams would help me get out of that i’m-different-than-the-others crisis. I wanted to live artistically and beautifully. My country is going hellwards. If my living conditions prevent my dreams, then I must make my own conditions —so, I studied hard and got accepted into my country’s top university in order to achieve the life I’d dreamed of. Planning an escape, perhaps? We all believe we are the main character, right? You have to fight for what you want. You have to take care of yourself.

I know this doesn’t answer your question but your question was just so stupid that I couldn’t even take it seriously. The fact that you spent so much time with caps locks is pathetic.

Intjs are the dudedettes that, in the middle of a fandom war, are screaming "IT'S JUST A FUCKING (MEDIA) CHILL" because they tend to critically analyse what they consume and not take extreme sides

Ah, okay, maybe I am one, then. For now I’ll just say that I ride the line between f and t. I don’t put much stock in mbti types (as I don’t think they actually answer many questions about personality), but it’s a fun little hobby/distraction. I do think a lot of the supposed intjs on this site are trying desperately to lean into that “villainous and hyperintellectual mastermind” stereotype that is associated with intj for some reason.

i actually love the intellectualism! bitch, this IS gender studies! i’m thriving in this hyperintellectual environment. what do you think i keep posting six hundred word essays on this blog for, grades?

but an integral part of my extremely pretentious, intellectual politics, is a warm attitude towards smut, filth, perversion, and other derided pleasures. like, this is supernatural gender studies: our PURPOSE here is to find meaning in low culture (and in analyzing same). it is hypocritical to enjoy supernatural without taking a positive attitude towards smut. the concept of being “better than” is antithetical to the project of analyzing the cw’s supernatural.

that said, i don’t find people around here stuck up. some of them have a lot of anxiety about sex and moral purity but that comes off to me as totally genuine, not affected superiority. what i’m saying is that i like it here, though i do of course enjoy being the smut dumpster of the supernatural fandom.
