I just finished watching BV1 again and got mad all over again. Does anyone find the members were treated like circus monkeys? Jimin having to dance for his suitcase. RM having to rap for his bag. Abandoning Tae at the airport then having him travel and fend for himself when everyone else had a partner. The prank on the train was also just mean. I'm glad Tae was smart enough to catch on to it.
Maybe because I'm a girl and dont really get guy humour but It didn't really seem like a reward for their hard work or a glimpse of the freedom of youth they wanted to experience. Do you think Tae's misadventure was a bit of a rebellion? Just my thoughts and wondering if I am alone in my thinking?

Some time ago on twitter there was a discussion about bts having to do stuff like run bts, so missions, games, silly ones most of the time, when they’re artists and they shouldn’t “waste time”. I think it’s similar to what you’re saying right now, which -in my opinion- can mostly be applied to the first seasons of bv because, being a variety show, and bts not being as popular as right now, they “had” to entertain and so they were asked to dance, to rap, to sing, whatever… BV4 had nothing of that, I don’t remember they had to rap or sing to get some stuff, it was almost like another ITS season.
Regarding Taehyung, he joined the group one day later alone because he was busy shooting Hwarang, they told him to get on a bus, took the wrong one and got lost. I do agree that the cameraman, the crew, anyone could’ve told him about it but I guess they saw it as entertainment. I didn’t particularly like the train prank either lol, Jungkook was so antsy about it too 😭 Taehyung at some point sat in silence and started studying their faces and that’s how he understood it was a prank… such a smart guy 😭
I think bv1 was like that because they had to entertain, kind of like a test trial? The other seasons are more on the chilling side. But, let’s use your questions as an open discussion, guys give us your opinions about it :)

Which is my favorite Kdrama network?
When I'm bored I like to list and categorize things. Today I've decided to discover, statistically, which Korean drama network is my favorite based on shows I've watched.
Including both shows I've completed and shows I've dropped bc in this case, the shows I don't like are relevant.
Using my ratings from MyDramaList :) which means however I felt the first time I finished watching a show, basically. Not including networks where I've only watched one show (e.g., Disney+, Wavve, Channel A).

I can't believe this network produced My Country the New Age when everything else I've watched by them has been a flop for me. Beyond Evil came the closest to breaking the curse but even then. Itaewon Class is one of my least favorite shows I've ever tried to watch; I've forgotten most of the details now but a bad taste lingers.

The takeaways:
I should probably watch more KBS. On my to-watch list, that translates to Youth of May, the Bridal Mask, Hwarang, the Bloody Heart, and Orange Marmalade. So mostly historical dramas, which is a pity bc apparently I also like their thrillers.
Really, though, my to-watch list at this point has a ton of SBS and MBC on it for some reason, at least with shows that have already come out. According to my stats so far, my odds are pretty mixed on liking them or not.
Somehow, one feels, I will actually end up watching more TVN instead... but that has yet to materialize. (except the one kdrama I'm currently watching is a TVN drama. so.)
Did I really learn anything? No. and on that note, good night.

Why would you say or why do you think tae is more close to the WS than the members? Like me personally I see their interaction so different, and I’ve always felt like tae is closer to the members, like a level of understanding that goes deeper since they have similar experiences and live/work in the same field. Like the level of understanding you can get from someone who is experiencing life at the same pace as you is unmatchable in my opinion, like you trying to explain to a friend your family dynamic but knowing no one understands you better then your siblings because they live w you 🧍🏻♀️. Idk if you understand what I mean? Whenever I see clips of tae with the WS and he would randomly dance or sing and none of them would follow I felt that “oh yeah, he’s certainly used to the members following his madness lol”, but still, I want to know what’s you’re intake 🧍🏻♀️
Here I shared a clip of JK's reaction when V said he would spend more time with the Tannies. As u can see JK did not believe him. Why? Obviously V doesn't spend much time with BTS.
I've not seen how V is with the WS so I'll take your word for it. First of all, they are older so I dont think they will match his energy. Second, Bangtan are just... there is no one like them, alright? People call them crackheads for a reason. I don't think any member not just V, if they hanged with another crowd they would get as crazy or rowdy.
Also, WS spoil and dote on V alot. They treat him like the maknae he is and he loves that. Alot. Something he doesn't get from BTS. a) because he's not the maknae, JK is. And b) when they're not spoiling JK they're spoiling Jimin. I talk about that here.
Why do I think he spends more time with them? Well, from the members themselves. One time we have Jijinkook getting mad at him for always being with the Hwarang Hyungs and always telling them he loves them but doesn't tell BTS he loves them.
Then we have that one time JK asked V to choose between him and Bogum.
Yeah they were joking but it had to be stemming from somewhere. No?
Then when members first moved out he was the one who lived the furthest from everyone. So when he asked Jimin to go see him Jimin said he was too far. (During the BB hot 100 live) Sure it was JK's birthday and the middle of the night so Jimin wasn't gonna make the effort anyway, but the fact that he said that.... idk.
Its just a few things here and there anon. Random throw away comments made overtime. Also there is more proof of V with the WS outside of work that with the Tannies. Think about it.
I can only think of the Vhope vacation they took with their families and that's it. If I am wrong please correct me. But other than Tkk recently we didn't see much of V with the Tannies outside of work. So that's y I think that.

taehyung and mc being mad w each other but him refusing to let them go is so fjdkdjdkskfkkf like he really sat on them and was like “fine, we’ll be angry. but we’re gonna be angry TOGETHER whether you like it or not 😒” it reminds me of when jimin and tae held hands in an interview while looking away from each other sulkily 😭
also: i love that jimin is always borderline insane w jealousy in your stories. and he’s apologetic but also…not? at the same time. just like “yes i want you to never talk to another man again yes i am crazy and i’m sorry that it bothers you, but it bothers me more” i wonder what brought this one on? was it the ex again?
is that not the most Taehyung thing to do? (T-T)
as for Jimin...
"I like keeping things to myself and knowing things alone...you see, I'm quite possessive. My friend [Taehyung], I'll be the only one who knows him. Same goes for songs, I'll keep them to myself."

If it's a persistent trait in my stories that Jimin's simultaneously apologetic and non-apologetic about his feelings, it's because I've always perceived that he's sort of like that. I don't believe he's toxic in the least, in fact, Park Jimin is probably one of the greenest flags out there, however, we all know how kind-hearted and loving he is towards the people close to him so I can see how his feelings would come from a place of "Yes, I am jealous of other people because you're my friend and I love you so much" but the guilt he'd feel would stem from hurting his loved ones so it creates this sort of dichotomy. Jimin is all around a very conflicting individual. But, of course, that's just my speculation, not a fact.
as for what brought it on, my personal headcanon that it was a colleague getting a bit too close and our boy crashed an after work meeting hence why there were angry with each other in the beginning

hi mads!! just for fun, if you could give one of your moots any fic genre or trope to write for, whether it's because they've never written it before or to see them challenge themselves or because you think they'd do really well with it etc, what genre/trope would you choose and who would you give it to? :3
iiiiiinteresting question milli !! I'm going to narrow it down to the mutuals whose writing I am a lot more familiar with or I will literally never be able to answer this lmaooooo
@doiefy already writes so much to challenge herself, the entire fight or flight series is because of that, and she already does so many big plots and exciting genres that I love but it would be fun to see her try her hand at a straight up rom com/roommate au or something ! just pure romance and slice of life type stuff haha
@jungwooisms writes my favourite thing already--historical aus--and does them extremely well so I want to keep it in that vein but maybe add in stronger fantasy elements and see a wuxia or xianxia type au ! hwarang already incorporates so many of those elements so it would be fun to see it dialed up to eleven and I would lose my ever loving mind tbh
@husbandcheol crime ! thriller ! sort of the opposite of fei, jackie writes rom com so well and I know that that energy can be translated to a really fantastic interesting crime thriller if she ever had the desire to do it. it's my favourite genre tbh haha
@husbandhoshi apocalypse au ! lily has talked to me before about her ideas and concepts for aus like this and I would love love love to seem them materialized. it would be challenging in the sense that they're so big and so much work but it would be so good ;-;
@nochv nik shines best when she is writing something she loves the subject matter of (sports au) and she tends to stick pretty light and romantic, but I think like a sort of band au with heavier angst elements would be such a good read from her ;-;
@itsapapisongo javi already writes sort of....everything hahaha he bounces around so much from au to au and universe to universe. I'll stick with something he loves and is so so good at--action. but I want to see a more sort of somber action approach maybe more leaning towards horror and suspense. I think he could pull it off suuuuper well if he sort of stripped back the layers of irony and sarcasm in his characters and gave them such a stark image haha it would be interesting !
@sunflowerforhaechan berry could do big plot if she put her mind to it and shed of some layers of fear of even approaching it haha it might take years, but I think it would be so good. maybe like a high fantasy au

Hwarang [Ep 15] IDK HOW I SKIPPED POSTING THIS LOL
I like that Moo Myung is honestly more King-like than Maek Jong. I think he would make a better King unless Maek Jong has some character improvement. However, I doubt that's the way things turn out. I'm sure Make Jong will still end up on the throne, but hopefully, he will be a different person by then.
Ah Ro has so much trust in Moo Myung that he won't let them die. I think he's really gonna get hurt though. I think he'll barely win somehow. Lol, it's funny that the princess doesn't think he is her brother, but I think she doesn't want him to be because she likes him. This is just the Ah Ro situation all over again just another woman haha.
So this Prince/King whatever he is likes to just do things on luck and chances. It doesn't show the dice but I think Moo Myung's was higher, I think not based on pure luck but that he has used that dice thing so much that he knows how to slightly maneuver his hand to land on what he wants it to. Or it could be luck, idk.
Aish, Young Shil isn't going to do anything and so the other ministers won't either. They won't start a war. They got the Queen's hands tied. Whether they live or die is going to be entirely up to Moo Myung and if he can win or not. Oooh, I good idea would be for Wi Hwa to send the rest of the Hwarang, and then the ministers would care because their sons are there too.
Ugh, guard dude cut Moo Myung's arm...that's cheating bruh...what precaution are you talking about ugh. You're giving him a disadvantage. I'm so mad. He's gonna die.
Okay, he didn't die, I guess because he's really not afraid of death. The Prince even asked him that and he said why would he. Oh, it did show us the dice he did get a higher score. Fascinating. Hmm, I don't think this guy is gonna actually keep his word. Oh, but he won't let the people go.
So Moo Myung is gonna break everyone out of jail and make a run for it and that's gonna cause the war I guess.
I love that Maek Jong is worried about Seon Woo; at least slightly. Plus he's helping him bail everyone out so....
Oh, Soo Ho took the arrow for Seon Woo.
Ugh, this Prince guy is so annoying, why can't he just let the dang people go. Why does he feel the need to kill everybody? Yes, the other Hwarang came just in time. haha, drama timing of course.
Oh no, Maek Jong saw Ah Ro and Seon Woo kiss. He's gonna find out they aren't actually related....well not till the next episode anyway.
My Thoughts: Personally, I think Seon Woo/Moo Myung would make a better King anyway. I know he probably won't even want the throne, that's not really his type of thing. He just wants to right wrongs and have people live peacefully. However, it's because of that attitude that he would make a better King, for now anyway.
I think once Maek Jong changes and grows up a little and stops being that son that hides and just tries to piss off his mom he will be capable of being a great King. He's seen the outside, and now he's seeing how great of a person Seon Woo is. I think he's jealous because right now he thinks Seon Woo would make a better King than him too.
I hope Ban Ryu ends up not working for Yeong Shil. I know he's gonna be put up to a huge test of loyalty here soon. Maybe not the next episode but definitely before the final one. He's gonna have to choose between his friends and lover, or power and being King.
5 episodes left to go and things are gonna get more and more serious.
