I decided to re-"read" @thebibliosphere's Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites via audiobook this time, but I can never just listen to something for long without something to do with my hands and I am also working on a Stardew Valley replay to try version 1.6, so I decided to see if SV on mute was low-enough story bandwidth to be compatible with an audiobook.
The good news: For me, mostly yes. Paused the audiobook occasionally when a cutscene or something required more story-focus than usual gameplay, but otherwise worked great and I finished the book and significantly advanced my game.
The bad news: I am now consumed by visions of Hunger Pangs/Stardew Valley crossover pixel art, to the point of actually looking into how to use modding tools to extract the stock sprites to use as a basis. 😔🤦 Send help.
"Ah, the new farmer werewolf we've all been expecting… and whose arrival has sparked many a conversation!"
(Note: I am aware that simple swapping out of sprites is reportedly a fairly entry-level mod, but my vision wouldn't work without substantial modification of the layout/setting, etc., and doesn't really fit actual gameplay. I just think it would be neat...)

Have y'all read Joy Demorra's Hunger Pangs yet, because if you haven't you should.
Also does anyone remember this meme? A few Novembers ago @thebibliosphere put the trio on the ot3 bunk and I feverishly sketched this up before immediately getting sick and completely forgetting all art until I got better.

I dreamed that a book you published (don't remember the title, might not have even been real) was being talked about on some show like Good Morning America and I was so happy for you that you made it BIG. I'm sure that will happen within the year. Two, tops. (Honestly idk how popular you are outside of Tumblr. Maybe you're already there.)
Oh, haha, absolutely not, but thank you. Taking that energy with me into 2023 and beyond. (That's like @ayeforscotland talking about when @netflix is going to make an animated series. Not if, not "in another dimension." "When." Bonkers.)
My popularity off Tumblr is kind of funny because hardly anyone's heard of Joy Demorra. They've seen all the screenshots, but they don't necessarily know that Joy Demorra is thebibliosphere.
And then I'll somehow break into the top 100 paranormal romance category (virtually unheard of for a small indie author without a marketing budget, still can't believe that happened), and a lot of people who paid a lot of money in advertising go, "whomst the FUCK is that?!" and then I sink back beneath the protective surface of Tumblr's deep blue waters like some eldritch terror that doesn't show up again until the next time I've got something to promote.
Y'all had zero chill after you figured out Amazon sales rankings, not to mention the insane number of reviews that went up in the first 48 hours. Truly and honestly, it was and remains so very, very humbling, and while I'm not so arrogant as to think it will happen again, I look forward to the opportunity to break Amazon's sales rankings again😂

With ao3 currently offline fighting the good fight, what are your go-to reads from published folks? (totally not fishing for book recs)
Anyways, I'll start:
Legends and Lattes by Travis Baltree (reading this now btw), and Hunger Pangs by Joy Demorra (I have the flirting with fangs edition but there's a fluff and fangs edition for the smut-disinclined)
Legends and Lattes is about an orc adventurer who decides she's sick of that life and wants to open a cafe instead. Very much a feel-good fic watching someone build a comfortable life. Many shenanigans and entertaining characters <3
Hunger Pangs is about a depressed but intelligent anticapitalist vampire lord's unappreciated son helps a disabled war veteran werewolf adapt to his new reality and they also help a hot powerful [redacted] fix probably the last seal holding back the Big Baddie with his super smart sexy brain. :3

im not much of an artist but had an idea i couldn't shake. so i present: my first fan art of a novel (why yes, it really is that good of a read!)
loosely inspired by this image i found on google (i went a little out of date due to the nature of the family status)
please look upon the (possibly silly) way that my brain read the introduction to Mrs. Collins in chapter ten of Hunger Pangs by Joy Demorra. she's described as pushing through a crowd at the May Ball like the prow of a ship through seafoam, and then im pretty certain it names her dress as being seafoam. i, on my last re-read, pictured her dress as looking instead like the prow of the ship.
some (sort of) seafoam lace as a nod to the more likely color of the dress, and no face or arms because thats a little advanced for me.
