I can't help but realize that the gate to Jörmungandr's prison took a long time to make.
Like... look at this thing. Look at the tiny Dragon Club in the bottom right corner. Look at them compared to the gate Hiccup and the Dragon Riders put there!
This thing took weeks if not months to construct. Between engraving the warning into the wood, (just one rune is roughly the size of a person) finding the trees necessary for the wooden parts, transporting them this deeply into the Dark realm... And then finding plus melting and forging all the metal parts of this thing, (including giant nails to keep it together and whatnot) transporting all that metal deep within, actually constructing the gate then putting the entire thing together... And then there is the locking mechanism designed specifically for Night Furies to open. It had to be both human and dragon-proof... and they had to do all of this with the red dragonsite's gasses poisoning them with each trip there and back, tearing down their serotonin levels, causing depression and anger on top of the stress of knowing there's a dragon like Jörmungandr out there.
This thing had to have been made before he was caught and imprisoned. There would've been no time to build it after his defeat.
That has to mean that, first trouble had to be brewing enough for Hiccup to find out something was extremely wrong. Then he had to find out what was wrong. Then he had to come up with a plan and get his Dragon Riders involved. (No way he built this entire thing by himself, he would need heavy machinery/dragons and manpower as well as time.) And then they had to actually make that gate.
It probably took such a long time. Weeks if not months, like I said earlier.
Weeks if not months of this thing out there, doing whatever it did to make Hiccup, resident dragon protector, lock it away for the safety of all of dragon(and presumably human)kind for as long as he could be contained. This construction had to last.
The Dragon Riders probably worked tirelessly, they probably had to fend this thing off so many times to protect other dragons but also to protect themselves and each other, and it all led up to that one final battle that finally locked it away.

The Amount of disrespect the Deathgrippers get is so fucking vile. They're my favorite dragons of like all time and now I've had to watch them die twice. TWICE!!
And arguably this is worse this time than in httyd 3 because we hear them get like eaten! We hear their fucking BONES crunch and its just, I hate how much they disrespect they get.
At least in RTTE when the bad dragon was a predatory one they only chase it off, annoying but they never treat them as evil or bad or something that needs to be KILLED
Yeah, the deathgripper treatment in this series is the worst HTTYD has treated any dragon. There was literally no reason for them to have gone this way.

Actually, I'm glad (for how the trailer looks) that their going to be separated from the dragons too. It just remarks how weird is THW finale.
The damage made in THW is so irreparable that our species can't have dragons 1,300 years after. Toothless fucking another dragon damaged the storyline in a way not even the actual writers of the weird sequel series can imagine a word where dragons don't need to be hidden. The no-personality-only-"feminitity"-from-a-mans-point-of-view-dragon existence caused enough damage that we can't be happy with dragons nor in reality nor in a fucking show that doesn't even makes sense within it's own franchise
How ironic is that a saga that started with the union of two completely different species because of mutual comprehension and equal treatment ended with said species completely separated, one hidden in a not so great environment with a very delicate balance and the other messing around searching ways to make money about it.

These children became a couple a few days ago and the truth is that this confession is one of the cutest I have seen from a DreamWorks couple, they really didn't need a kiss or anything like that... just to give themselves the opportunity to try something new over the years of friendship they have.
I know they are often a little toxic towards each other, but they really have that way of knowing each other so well that I love it. Jun can be quite a tough character and Tom finds it very difficult to express what he feels. I think taking one step at a time seems like the right thing to do. They are not a Hiccstrid... I feel like they have their own energy.
I know that many preferred Tom with Alex, but I have felt a connection with Tom and Jun since the first season. I hope to see good development in the remainder of this series 💙💜

To be honest, the idea of the cybertronians on earth being the last of their kind kinda makes me sad. Imagine fighting a whole war and finally winning it and making peace with humans, but you can never go home, and you will very likely be the last of your original species to exist.
Like, the terrans are ADORABLE and I love them and I hope we get even more of them as the show goes on, but its so bittersweet. We get this adorably cool new bots, but at the cost of cybertronians never continuing. Like, what if something happens to all the cybertronians on earth right now? They’d go extinct. The terrans would still be there but they’d be like. Just a piece of the originals.

What do you think of the season 5 tnr dragons?
(Vinetail, snifflehide, evolved scuttleclaw)
Oh is it confirmed to be evolved scuttleclaw? neat!
Vinetail is solid for a small dragon design. I like them and they're please to look at. I like this approach of "Animal name-liked dragon" but it's made up of the element that have nothing to do with said animal (as oppose to something like spiderwing) Vinetail is monkey-like but it doesn't take from the physical element of monkey directly. Stormcutter is the same way; owl-like but all those thing in their designs are not of owls. I like that of them.
Snifflehide is my favourite this season and definitely make it near top for the design alone (in that I still prefer feather and featherhide character vice but snifflehide definitely has a stronger design than them. I'd put it in the same top tier as yetiwing) I think the implication and similarity to snifflehunch is definitely intentional. They're both colorful dragon with similar pattern ability and name and spine shapes. I still prefer snifflehunch appearance over all but snifflehide has more going on with them for sure and I'm glad we finally have more confirmed herbivorous dragons.
I can't say much about scuttleclaw since it is an old dragon and it is still a baby. Sad we dont get to see an adult scuttleclaw when we have a chance to. I really like its new ability. It is pretty similar to my Cryptic Chaos. I'm indifferent about the added flap but they do be exist in the second movie concept art tho. I think this scuttleclaw is a more correct approach to the "annoyingly overly cute" dragon compare to bubblehorn (league better tbh)
I also want to talk about the evolved/new speed stinger too! I first saw them in the legend of the nine realms guidebook scan and thought it is the new movie quality render for the hidden world pattern and got super excited but perhaps it is for the show after all. I like it still! they are pretty! (conspiracy 2: the first picture is the main movie franchise quality redesign/rendition and nine realms use that version)

When the Dragon Club first discovers about Jörmungandr's existence and how he's been locked away in the Dark Realm for the past 1,300 years, I genuinely thought that this episodes was going to be like one of those "oh, The Big Bad isn't actually the Big Bad, but just Scary And Misunderstood and we're going to find out that Hiccup was actually wrong about locking it away, teaching Tom that sometimes the people before us were wrong."
Then Thunder unlocked Jörmungandr's cage to save Tom's life, much to the horror of the Dragon Club kids, and the first thing that thing did was eat the Sky Torcher Buzzsaw brought. A really big dragon!
Just grabbed him by his neck, dragged him into the cage, and ate him.
You could hear the crunching noises.
Like Snotlout once eloquently said... Hiccup is always right.

Rating The Nine Realms original dragons
I’m going to rate the designs of the original dragons from the Nine realms. And by Original i mean the dragons first seen in this series.
1. Thunder
I know Toothless was a loveable character and the thing that probably bought in alot of money… but what gave them the right to do this?
Firstly, they do know that the Nightfuries are extinct right? Unless they had some kinda super dominant genes i really don’t think Thunder should be mostly black, why not more white like his mother?
Also the fucking trident tail, and the back/spine posture, this dragon mustbe inbred or something because this is atrocious.
Also why the name Thunder? He shoots lightning for Thor’s sake why not… lightning? Or even Thor itself.
Horrible, i hate them 0/10
2. Wu and Wei
Okay…. I know what they were going for…. But really?
I know it’s inspired by the chinse mythology of dragons, but is this the way to go about it? I feel like the whispering death reaches that goal better than this? And omg the colours, the gold?! Why, it totally clashes with the bright blue and red.
Also the two headed dragon thing…. The thing about Barf and Belch is that one expels the gas they need to create fire, and the other one lights it. Fire and what is it…. Ice? Water? I don’t even remember but those don’t work together.
And the stiff wing? That thing should not be able to fly.

3. Plowhorn
I think this is a slightly better design, but i still don’t like it all too much. I feel like it’s mostly the literal crystals growing from it’s body…. Why? Doesn’t that hurt? I feel like if you replaced the crystals with something else it would look better, otherwise i suppose Plowhorn gets the pass… except for the name wtf D’Angelo?

4. Feathers
This is my favourite design out of the riders, although i know other people don’t like it. I just wish…. They conveyed that she actually has feathers?! Instead of just stiff succulent plant things at the top of its head. Also the posture once again.
I know it’s supposed to be inspired by the quetzacoatl, but i feel like that didn’t work out how they wanted it to.
I admit i wasn’t a fan at first, but after the episode where the find the “zombie” Feathers i liked her design a bit more, i’m impressed the team actually put effort into worldbuilding for once.

Look, some HTTYD content~!
Just watched the newest TNR's trailer and checked out the latest episode summaries (SPOILERS BELOW!)
But the Shadow Realm sounds cool and I like the idea of some personal dragon rider drama.
So my biggest issue so far with this is Tom X Jun. I'm sorry, but the obvious "they like each other and have feelings for each other" has came across as forced almost like the developers were all "Oh! A boy protagonist and a girl side protagonist! Why, they MUST be a couple!" Like, can we have boy and girl protags in a team together without them having to be romance fodder? If the pair had some better grounding like Hiccup and Astrid did over the course of 3 movies and many seasons, it'd be different. But Tom and Jun basically feel like they're just getting the romance treatment just...because girl and boy??? I dunno, it's boring, overused, and they really have no real connection leading that way.
Also, the Dragon Riders having some drama might be interesting, but I hope it's over good reasons and not them being whiny towards one another or even worse "Tom and Jun are a couple now, so we have to do the thing where they only pay attention to each other and none of their friends and it leads to the drama."
I dunno, this season may be good, but I have my concerns. Also, no new dragons interested me. Bummer. :C
