So why is Vanny so determined to get on Michael's good side?

It’s mostly because every one on one interactions they’ve had so far has been negative pff

I’m not sure if anyone’s noticed this before, but the etymology in Fnaf is actually kind of amazing? For the human characters, anyways.
Me and a friend of mine are considering doing a Fnaf project, and for it, I need to give names to some of the still unnamed characters. Phone Guy, the original owner of Fredbear’s, so on and so forth. So, I looked into how the series names its characters for inspiration—a name like “William Afton” seems too specific to be made randomly.
“William” is an English name (fitting for a bri’ish character) that means either “strong-willed warrior” or “resolute protector.” Meanwhile, Afton is a Scottish name meaning evening or afternoon.
A resolute protector of the evening.
A NIGHT GUARD.
Remember in Fnaf 2, when the only thing we knew about Purple Guy was that he was almost certainly the former night guard of Freddy’s?
Tumblr media
Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if Scott came up with this name around the time of Fnaf 2 or 3 and just sat on it until he needed it for The Silver Eyes. That, or it was intended to be a bit of foreshadowing of “Dave Miller’s” true identity.
After having that revelation, I decided to look into the names of some of the other characters to see if I could find any other interesting naming quirks. This is what I found.
Henry Emily: “Henry” means “home” and “powerful ruler” while Emily can mean either “rival” or “persuasive.” His status a persuasive rival should need no explanation to anyone who has played Pizzeria Simulator, and him being a “powerful ruler of home” can allude to his status as one of the original owners of Freddy’s.
Charlotte Emily: “Charlotte” means either “free man” or “petite.” I don’t see that much of a connection to the “free man” definition of the name (in fact, her being the last of William’s victims to be set free and the Puppet’s constant restraint by the music box would imply the opposite), but the “petite” part may allude to her dying as a child. The “rival” aspect of her surname can apply to Charlie as well, as she has stood against William as the Puppet since the beginning.
Michael Afton/Mike Schmidt: Pretty sure these two are the same character, so I’m looping them together. Afton is obviously a carryover from his father’s name, and I don’t think it applies as much to Mike as it does William. “Michael” is a Biblical name with a lot of different meanings, but the most common one is “Who is like God?” Meanwhile, “Schmidt” is a German name derived from the word for blacksmith. Who is like God? The blacksmith. This could allude to Michael’s relationship to William, the creator of the animatronics, as the two are father and son. However, I honestly doubt Scott had planned that as early as Fnaf 1. The “blacksmith” aspect of the name may be in reference to him “tampering with the animatronics,” though.
Jeremy Fitzgerald: “Jeremy” means “God will uplift” and “Fitzgerald” means “son of Gerald.” Who is Gerald, then? “Gerald” means “bright spear.” God will uplift the son of the bright spear. I could be reading too much into this, but this may be in reference to how you need to use your flashlight to ward off the animatronics in Fnaf 2.
Vanessa/Vanny: “Vanessa” means “butterfly.” Could tie into the “butterfly effect” of how Glitchtrap taking control of her in Fnaf VR influenced the series going forward, but that’s honestly a stretch.
Gregory: “Gregory” means either “watchful” or “alert.” And yeah, I assume you would need to be in order to dodge all of the animatronics in the Pizzaplex.
I know that overanalyzing simple names like this feels like a “the curtains are blue” moment, but as a writer who is very picky about my character names, I think it’s important to respect how a character’s name can tie into their personality and role in the story. Creating a memorable and fitting name isn’t as easy as you may think it is, so when they have meaning like this (even if it’s unintentional), we should give credit where credits is due.

it is with a heavy heart that i must announce. the five nights at freddy's movie was really good
sorry for how much of a behemoth this post is im fnaf autism just bear with me also i can't keep my thoughts straight for the life of me so this will be a bumpy ride. as an additional note i got very lucky and had literally 0 spoilers whatsoever for this movie, i haven't even seen the trailer
so first of all: i thought all the changes they made to the plot to make it work for a movie were good decisions, altho some of them did take a minute to actually feel like good changes lmao. once i thought about em a bit more though they made sense.
one of the things i really liked was that they also did include a lot of the things i wanted them to, or more specifically things that you're like "you literally can't have a fnaf movie without these, it just wouldn't be right", like we got mike schmidt, we got fucking VANESSA??? altho she might be in the trailer so that might not be the same reveal for yall as it was for me but still. they heavily alluded to vanny? (altho that's a part i'm kinda sad abt is they didn't /actually/ include vanny, vanessa just makes an offhand comment about how she "wouldn't be much help" if she was around afton and then. comes to help anyways and doesnt have any issues? lame they shouldve had him hypnotise her and then she fought her way out to help mike and abby. or alternatively they couldve used the family restructuring to make vanny be a result of afton giving vanessa osdd-2, like thats kinda functionally what he does with the mask anyways but this would make it more obvious).
also swinging back to changes they made that i liked!! VANESSA AFTON?? like this is the one that took me a while to get used to bc it feels like such a cliche from an outside perspective but it also kind of Super Isn't considering what the original plot is? like all the family restructuring they did makes pretty good sense to me, i do think it loses a bit of the weight having michael be Just Some Guy Whose Brother Happened To Be Kidnapped By Afton Forever Ago and now coincidentally has this weird guy offering him a job as a night guard, but also the og lore. absolutely would not fit into a movie lmao. so i like that they kept the characters everyone wanted around while also rearranging it to keep the spirit of "learning about all of this for the first time through the eyes of a security guard" you get from playing the games. it's fun for people who don't know the lore because it's easy to follow and it's fun for people who /do/ know the lore because they can pull apart all the differences.
oh right back to things they included that i wanted them to. we gotttt chica's cupcake murdering people, we got FUCKING MATPAT? SAYING THE ITS JUST A THEORY LINE? SOUNDING THRILLED OFF HIS ASS TO BE THERE??? i dont like the man and his opinions vis a vis addressing nonbinary characters but. goddamn was that a funny cameo. why couldnt you include markiplier too you fucking cowards. who said that. anyways. oh we kind of tangentially have a canon name for crying child? aka garrett? like idk this one could go either way because like. yeah he's mike's younger brother that died tragically and scarred him for life, makes sense that theyd be the same character in function but also it is technically a different family so who knows.
umm what else. oh this doesnt rlly fall into either category i just really liked it, the intro sequence for all the animatronics? showing what they can /really/ do with the breaking and entering dudes?? that was such a cool sequence i really liked the whole thing honestly. chica being introduced in the kitchen and the dude finding the cupcake then looking back and it's gone? bonnie in the supply closet? foxysprint??? AND FREDDY!! THE BITE!!! in case anyones reading this before watching the movie so they know what to expect: youll know when this moment is coming and if youre watching it at home with friends i HIGHLY recommend having the "was that the bite of 87" clip ready to play right after, they WILL lose their shit. i had it queued up from the very beginning of the movie cause i was like. they can't not include it /somehow/, it's the fnaf movie there has to be A Bite. and sure enough. oh also it's not at the same time but the golden freddy reveal is really good too, they did a good job of setting it up so even if youre already aware of golden freddy conceptually you still go "oh freddy's here? i mean i guess that makes sense he's the leader and all. or wait what happened to his eye why's he only got one? oh. oh i see. ohohohohohohohoho" 100/10. also very funny that they just straight up. MURDER THE AUNT? AND SHE NEVER GETS MENTIONED AGAIN SHE JUST IS DEAD??? the kid isnt like. hey what happened to aunt jane?? i get none of them liked her and with good reason but youd think at least one of em would be like "damn she sucked but she didnt deserve that, rip jane"
oh and the springlocks of course the springlocks. like as soon as we saw aftons name in the cast list we all knew he was gonna get springlocked, it's such a cherished memory for so many of us and there's no way in hell The Fnaf Movie™ wouldnt include afton getting springlocked, they just legally can't leave that out. and they do it pretty well too like yeah if you know what's gonna happen you can see it coming way ahead of time and it's kind of a slow crawl to get there but like. idk i think it still works pretty well. i don't personally like how long the actual springlocking itself took, i think they couldve milked that a little bit less cause i was under the impression that if one springlock failed they All Would Instantaneously And Your Flesh Body Will Become Occupied By A Full Endoskeleton. but no we just get very slow rib beartrap. w/e though still cool and again the leadup to it was really good even knowing exactly how it would end, like just the really slow shuffling of the animatronics towards him? like yeah it's slow and kinda tedious but its also like. theres literally nothing you can do, youre surrounded and defenseless and theyre infinitely faster and stronger than you and now they remember that you killed them. and you just have to sit there and watch them slowly slowly get closer all while trying to talk your way out of it knowing youre fucked. 10/10 they did that part well
oh and that also falls under changes i liked, i liked that instead of "afton tries to escape intangible ghosts by getting into old decrepit suit which then fails and kills him" it was "afton was already in the suit to do murders in and has brainwashed the bots to follow him" wait omg point postponed i just realized that part is from security breach. i thought vanessa was the only thing they brought over from that i didnt even notice that they werent doing the theyre-attacking-all-adults-indiscriminately thing goddamn. omg wait and the fact that the restaurants already closed in this one, it really is just a blend of all the games huh. scott do you see how much more coherent your plot couldve been if there wasnt So much going on. anyways. back to what i was saying. instead of "afton tries to escape intangible ghosts by getting into old decrepit suit which then fails and kills him" it was "afton was already in the suit to do murders in and brainwashed the ghosts into thinking he was their friend so they would help him do murders while possessing the robots. then they get their memories back and the robots turn on him and.. i think deliberately? set off the springlocks, or were just aiming to regular kill him and the springlocks failing was a happy accident? then the robots drag him away as they keep slowly one by one collapsing into him", like the first one made a lot of sense for the game and the timeline and the second one just feels right for this too. it's still his hubris that kills him, still his springlocks, it's just in one version the hubris is "trusting his springlock design to still work after however many years" and in the other its "thinking he has conplete control over the ghosts he killed", plus the ghosts finally get a bit more direct participation in his death than in the other version lol.
one change i did not like. forced het romance. like i dunno i guess im happy for them, both of those characters have certainly earned happy endings by this point so its nice they can get something cutesy. but also. like cmon man it's vanessa and mike do we have to do this she just got stabbed stop holding her hand
oh also this change wasnt really good or bad i just thought it was funny, vanessas a full on cop now? like i get they prolly just dont wanna have two security guards or something but i mean. it wouldve been really easy to just say she was the day shift guard? thatd explain why she had more information on the bots and the place's history than him, why she's always Around, it wouldve even flowed into the vanessa afton reveal pretty well too because like. yeah obviously a guy doing murders would want his main security guard to be someone he trusts and who better than his theoretically brainwashed daughter yknow? as it was she just kinda Showed Up Knowing Stuff And Ignoring Questions and later afton's like "you were supposed to be keeping an eye on him" but like of course Mike was getting dodgy about the weirdo cop loitering nearby for no reason, thats sus as hell lmao. vs "experienced security guard here to show you the ropes" he would have a much easier time trusting that she actually did have his best interests at heart. idk it just seemed like a weird change to me lmao
ummm oh my roommate pointed out the fact that when they tried to springlock abby the suit they were aiming for looked suspiciously like circus baby and abby and baby are anagrams so thats fun. it's hard to tell though if shes intended to be a rework of elizabeth or if vanessa's filling that role now. cause like on the one hand, michael's younger sister whose name is v close to baby, on the other hand, vanessa is afton's daughter. so idk i feel like it could go either way. if abby's elizabeth i guess that negates the thing about garret maybe being crying child's name bc then theyd prolly just be keeping mike's name the same. w/e
oh my god i completely forgot when i was talking about changes to the afton springlock thing, they had him deliberately put his mask on after the other springlocks started releasing and say the "i always come back" line, i thought that was an excellent touch. like he's actively dying a horrific death and is like. no no. im not leaving this bot. this shit is going to suck ass no matter what so i might as well do all i can to ENSURE my soul gets locked in this fuckin thing, go on stab me in the brain lets do this. i will however also say that having him say "i always come back"... before he's even come back the first time? is a little bit weird, i know thats another one of the "we have to include this in the fnaf movie" things so im not mad but just in the moment it def flows a bit weird. like mf you don't even have one example of that yet much less several to be saying "always" about
OH AND THE BIGGEST ONE. THE ANIMATRONICS. theyre so good. like im so glad they went all in on that, i think they probably knew that if there was one single thing they had to get absolutely 100% right to avoid a fan uprising it was those and by god did they deliver, theyre so big and so unsettling and so fun. chica's wink at abby was the best part of the movie no questions asked. or alternatively bonnie falling over after they built the fort. like theyre all just so good. OH MY GOD OR IN CHICA'S INTRODUCTION SEQUENCE WHERE YOU CAN SEE HER JUST. SCOOTING BY THROUGH THE VENT?? THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST THING OF ALL TIME HELLO???
god. but yeah i was honestly expecting it to be a lot worse than it was. also this mike is a bad brother/dad figure. but i guess in the games he also kind of is the pinnacle of bad brother so i mean it couldve been a lot worse. theres definitely some rough parts, i mightve mentioned this already but i felt like a few of the dramatic pause things were a bit too drawn out, like i said the springlocks locking is one good example of that but another that i REALLY found slow was like. in the opening we watch a guy get turbomurdered by the swirly blade mask and it takes. way longer than i feel like was necessary. also unnecessary: a jumpcut a second from scared eyes to swirly blades to hands fumbling and repeating during that. oh another thing that was weird to me, why was mike so insistent on sleeping specifically at night? to the point of deliberately sleeping on the job? like i get he wanted to revisit the kidnapping dream but like. presumably he could dream just as well during the day, no? done his night shift then once it was up rolled out a sleeping bag for a quick powernap before heading home? idk that just felt. forced to me
more random things, i am sad we didnt get a whiff of henry emily (my fringe theory was that their twist to change it from the games was they were gonna make henry be evil, rip to that idea) or the puppet/charlie, and kinda sad they changed the kid possessing golden freddy to be a boy like. we love cassidy and her Undying Rage Towards Afton's Soul smh why would you get rid of her. also loved balloon boy, kinda wish mangle had gotten like a similar level appearance but thats w/e. oh also while i did appreciate the low gore level there were also a few times where it was a bit weird how minor the injuries the dead people had were. like this man just had his face put in a blender mask and he just has like. some forehead gashes or whatever? he should look like someone stirred up jello
anyways with that gross thought i think i am out of things to say about the movie for now. if anyone else watched it already and somehow read all of this blease tell me your thoughts
#the stuff under the cut contains major spoilers so reader beweader#this post is also gonna be rambley as hell so like. strap in#update after finishing it: it is indeed very rambley and also long as hell so see again: reader beweader#fnaf movie spoilers#five nights at freddy's movie spoilers#fnaf spoilers#five nights at freddy's spoilers#fnaf#fnaf movie#my roommate said they heard they were aiming to make 3 moves total and if i had to guess#i would say the other movies will probably hit fnaf 3 and then pizzaria simulator#obviously with some massive changes to the plot regarding timelines and just resolving general world changes#but i do feel like those encapsulate the main big points of afton's arc#aka 1) getting springlocked‚ 2) being springtrap (potentially in fazbear frights and i think that would be a really cool movie#but really the location doesnt really matter so much as the He's Been Woken Up And Is Hunting Someone#and then 3) getting his ass sent to ghost hell by henry. frankly i would be happy if they just ripped his final monologue#straight from the game and didnt even rerecord it it's just so iconic#like id want them to include security breach too somehow but. the timelines gonna get real condensed real fast then#it already would be if they include 3 isnt there like 30 years between aftons death and that one? so the part thats#originally set in 2050????? yeah thatd take some serious rearranging#hmm although i am now in my head thinking of something. abt the location not mattering as long as#springtrap wakes up and hunts someone. what if they did that /in the pizzaplex/ instead of in a horror attraction#or maybe for a horror installation there#idk im just rambling more now but i think thatd be a cool way to combine those parts#oh sorry technically that thing abt afton getting springlocked is technically a spoiler#but i mean come on we all knew that was gonna happen

idk if anyone else has said it yet, but i’m feeling bitter right now, so i will (also it’s just always bothered me)
has anyone else ever noticed the difference in fan opinions between Michael and Vanessa?
in many ways, they are VERY similar characters.
they’re both night guards, have been fucked over by William, killed kids, and barely actually show up in the games.
however, Michael is treated like a goddamn king by the fandom, while Vanessa barely gets scraps. she’s regarded as a bitch so often, is hated on constantly, and/or is sometimes flat out ignored or erased from stories entirely.
oh no! a woman is grumpy! she MUST be a bitch!
Vanessa isn’t a bitch. she’s an underpaid security guard that has her entire career on the line throughout the whole game. there’s a loose child in the Pizzaplex. she’s literally trying to do her damn job so she won’t get fired.
more than that, Vanessa is clearly under a severe amount of psychological stress. she’s being mind controlled by a serial child killer to murder people. you’re telling me you also wouldn’t be in a constant bad mood if that was your life?? and even if you don’t think Vanessa is Vanny, Vanessa STILL has mental health issues. that much is proven by the therapy tapes (i think it’s canon that she has depression and anxiety? and maybe PTSD? i can’t remember; it’s been awhile since i was hyperfixated on this game). god forbid a person, a woman no less, shows the negative aspects of their mental illness!
like, depression, anxiety, AND PTSD all cause irritability and anger issues. anxiety literally triggers your fight or flight, and not everyone automatically cowers into their flight instinct. PTSD has a little something called “hyperarousal,” which is a constant state of anger.
but okay, mental health issues can’t be used as an excuse for things, alright. it’s still late at night. people get irritable and cranky the more they stay up. lack of sleep causes aggression.
but really, none of that matters because Vanessa is justified in her grouchiness through the entire game since, again, she’s doing her job.
and it’s not even like she says or does anything that bad! i’ve seen people treat her like she’s some kind of monster, and for what? because she made a hollow threat about scrapping Freddy?? it was, like, two in the morning, people! people say things they don’t mean when they’re 1) tired and 2) emotional. and we all know she doesn’t have the authority to do that, so she wouldn’t actually go through with it.
also need i remind everyone that Vanessa is treated poorly by her OWN CREATOR?? she’s grossly sexualized. we all know what the Vanny suit looks like. it’s skintight. it’s very obviously designed in a way to highlight ALL her curves. Scott did that on purpose. and like,,, why?? she’s a murder bunny. why does she have to be “attractive”?
don’t get me wrong, i like the design for Vanny, i just hate the suit. i love the idea of her looking all patchwork, like Vanessa tore apart different articles of clothing to make the costume because she couldn’t get enough fur, so she could have been this big mess of thick white fur with splashes of a bunch of random materials in between the pelt. that could have easily shown how, like, “unpracticed” she is. it’s a shoddy suit made by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing.
but NOOOO, Scott had to go, “how can i show that she’s a woman who has boobs?!?!??!? how can i bring her boobs into this?!?!?! what about her boobs?!?!?! we can’t forget about her boobs!!!!”
like, dude, we know she has boobs. she’s a killer bunny, not a playboy bunny. let’s not blur the lines, Scott.
you know, it’s really saying something when the plush of a character is less sexualized than the design itself. i own a Vanny plush (it look, like, three months for her to ship), and she looks great! she’s super cute! but, GOD, the DUALITY between her and the actual Vanny is GLARING.
but also, this isn’t anything new. most of Scott’s female characters get the treatment of being sexualized.
it’s just so goddamn frustrating to see male characters get held up on a higher pedestal than female characters. this is an issue in most fandoms. the women are treated like shit. and it’s infuriating.
just— if Vanessa were a guy, people would NOT treat her the way they do. and if she were a man, Vanny’s suit would have been less sexualized and more like an actual animal suit.

What’s your opinion on the recent lore drop in regards to the leak to the upcoming Tales of the Pizzaplex book? The Fnaf 4 stuff?
oh man i absolutely hate it. i've done a whole massive rant on it on my discord but i'll try to summarize it in a more logical way LOL
so for one, it is entirely unnecessary and kind of retroactively ruins the 4th game's impact. the nightmares don't NEED some kind of scientific logical explanation? nightmare is in their name, they're nightmares that aren't real. it should be self-explanatory and i'm not sure why it was thought that they needed to be explained (especially when there's illusion discs right there if they really wanted an explanation that badly) but it's kind of been an issue with fnaf for a long time - all the paranormal stuff is just gone for some reason, and i don't understand what the need is for everything to be sci-fi??? i heard someone else say this, but fear of the unknown is very much a real thing. and it stops being scary when it's overexplained and reduced to some random science experiment.
and then there's what they did to william. i don't know who wrote dittophobia but there is no way in hell they understand or even care about his character, or maybe they straight up hate him. like yes, we've established he's a villain and kills children. but kidnapping? experimenting? FEAR GAS? what does this actually add to his character? it's like they're just trying to make him as evil as possible without any regard for 1. what actually makes an interesting villain and 2. how he's actually portrayed! he loved kids, why the hell else would he agree to open fredbear's? even in the books he supposedly put the kids to sleep before killing them so they didn't feel it, so EVEN WITH how he's portrayed in the books i don't think he would do that kind of thing!
(this got kind of long the rest is under the cut)
i feel like this kind of goes with all the villains in the fnaf series at this point (william, vanny, mimic): all of their potential is constantly getting squandered. you saw how hard they had to backpedal on william being burntrap, and how vanny was hardly even a threat, and mimic came outta nowhere if you didn't read the books (which most people don't). i feel like at its core fnaf is a tragedy, not some goofy ahh sci-fi shit. william COULD be a tragic villain, a guy who lost his marbles after his kids died, and i feel like that's really the best angle to take for his character! but most of all - they've kind of turned william's character into a joke at this point. he's not a threat, he's just fucking ridiculous because how can you take him seriously if he's just a one-note pure-evil villain in a cartoonishly goofy and over the top mad scientist way who's just evil for the hell of it!
and then there's the fact that there isn't even a mention of other already existing characters. who the fuck is rory?? where's CC and michael? why the hell is it implied william purposefully made the bite of 83 happen but then there was no mention of CC or michael. like at some point you have to wonder if whoever is writing these just straight up hates the main games (because if this isn't supposed to be tied back to the lore… then why is it advertised like that). why are they utilizing william but no one else? could they not come up with a better antagonist, or better yet, leave this unnecessary story out??
one thing that's going to be awful i think is how the fandom perceives this story. i've already seen sooo many awful takes about this story and, in turn, the rest of the lore too. like midnight motorist is just about afton kidnapping kids?? most of the fandom has already hated william but now he's kind of just. even more of a punching bag than before, so good fuckin luck to those of us who actually like him and think he's an interesting character! as well as fnaf 4… it just defeats the purpose of the nightmares as a whole, and they're not nearly as impactful or interesting as they would be if they were either a personification of michael's guilt OR cc's fears.
in my honest opinion there was no reason for this story to be written in the first place. and it's a dumb, convoluted idea. lmao

Oof, poor Ness. I mean, poor Mike of course, but still... poor Ness. Do Mike and the kids know she's brainwashed? If not, how would they respond to that knowledge if they ever found out?
They suspect there’s something going on with her and that William has some way of controlling her, though they aren’t sure what. If Evan/Gregory and Michael figured out it was brainwashing specifically, they’d want to break it both to help her and possibly get her help in return. But considering how little they can do about their own situation there’s not much they can do for Vanessa.
Elizabeth has a better idea about what’s going on with Vanessa as she spends more time around her, because Vanny is often her escort when she gets to go to the main part of the Pizzaplex. But while she does feel empathy and pity for Vanessa’s situation, it’s a long time before she even considers trying to do something about it.

Aight, I have a wild FNAF Theory about Security Breach. RUIN DLC Spoilers ahead!
Yknow how we don't know the Crying Child's name? The one who got his head bit off by Fredbear? And how his ghost shares Golden Freddy/Fredbear with Cassidy?
Well, with the new DLC, we're introduced to Cassie, a friend of Gregory's.
I think it's a bit sus that a game, mainly about Freddy trying to help a child escape death and thus is considered the "golden star", has two children in it, who are close. Two children, who are both obsessed with the Freddy's franchise.
Two children, one of who's name is very similar to another named character in the series.
In the same series where we theorized Michael Afton and Mike Schmidt were the same person, and somehow it was true.
I think Cassie and Cassidy are the same. It would make sense as why, when she puts on the VANNI mask, she can hear what Gregory heard during Security Breach.
Cassidy was always vengeful, and most likely realized, like Charlette, that Michael wasn't William and went after him, dragging the Crying Child with her. I think it was confirmed that Freddy has parts from the other versions in him, which would make sense if you consider this:
Gregory wasn't real.
He was the ghost of the Crying Child that the animatronics (and Vanessa, given the VR game) could see due to the old parts (Roxy getting some of the Foxys and Monty getting Bonnie's after they found him scrapped). It explains why he's so tiny, but also why he can easily go into Freddy's holding area without much issue.
Cassidy was busy trying to find William, and once she realized CC/Gregory was in danger, she tried to go after him.
This theory is a mess, but if we try to detangle it, it does clue in on a lot of details:
Cassidy and Roxy never met!
They didn't, but as stated above, if, like Freddy, they used parts from the older animatronics, Roxy was probably Foxy! We have no idea who Cassidy's favorite animatronic was, so going on a limb and saying Freddy first, Foxy second wouldn't be a stretch. Since Foxy is now Roxy, it again makes sense that since Freddy is largely seen as a traitor to the other animatronics and out of the picture, Roxy is now the favorite.
Gregory betrays Cassie in the end!
Yes, he does. With this theory, it's CC lashing out, taking over Fredbear and leaving her alone to the hunt for William. CC is tired, and with the Mimic, he knows if it gets out, she'll keep them there until the world ends. So, he chooses peace, and disappears. To Cassidy, who shared a suit with him, it would no doubt feel like the elevator had given out. He had just betrayed her in the worst way possible to a dead 7 year old.
I probably have more to add but for now, I'm at, like, a 95% on believing this theory.

Releasing my weird/not commonly shared FNAF headcanons out into the ecosystem:
*I think Michael Afton is Mike Schmidt but I don't think he's any of the other guards (minus sister location and pizzeria simulator). I hc that the other three (Fritz Smith, Jeremy Fitzgerald and the FNAF 3 guard) are the other three FNAF 4 bullies.
*I place Sister Location after FNAF 1 in the timeline
*I have... unique opinions on whether or not the toy animatronics are possessed (don't know how to quite explain it and I'm not even sure if I'm understanding some lore aspects right that lead me to my conclusion but- idk I'll try to explain if asked-)
*I believe in Glamhenry but in a way similar to how I feel about the toys
*I think the midnight motorist minigame portrays how one of the kids went missing/the orange person is one of the missing kids' parents
*I don't think Ballora is Mrs. Afton (I think William might've built Ballora to resemble his wife but I don't think she's possessed by her or anyone period)
*I think Endo-01 was possessed by Phone Guy 'cus sometimes it just does shxt like this
Tumblr media
*I heard this theory once from a Dawko video and I haven't seen anyone else talk about it but I think the Blob is possessed by all of Vanny's victims.
*I am in the club of "Toy Chica did the Bite of 87" and I will die on this hill
*Honestly my opinions have shifted over time on this but now I don't think Montgomery Gator was directly responsible for Glamrock Bonnie's decommissioning. (I don't think the gator was a murderer)
*I honestly... don't think Sun was entirely innocent, albeit my reasons for this include something that I have not verified (just read about it on tv tropes once). Will be willing to explain this one if asked too.
This is all I can think of right now time to post this and pray to god that it's received well-

GHGGGF goldenrock mike. He is my little guy.
If this isn’t too spoilery, how does he feel about the possession by vanny? How did he get caught up in this? Since Williams not reluctant, is Michael? Is he at all aware of what he’s being forced to do?
Do his siblings know he’s possessed? Like did Evan notice he was weird? Did Liz? (Assuming there was enough time for her to realize before she. Yknow. Died)
Also does Henry notice anything weird about William or Michael? Does he find out what happened to Sammy?
Sorry for asking a lot I am just. So obsessed with them.
nothing is too spoilery mwhahahaha
mike is definitely uncomfy with having his body be controlled by a weird ass rabbit parasite dickhead thing, but william is very good at manipulating him so he just stays quiet. not 100% sure yet how he gets all caught up in the vanni stuff but my working idea is that vanni needs somebody else besides william to do its dirty work so they choose micheal bc he’s perfect for the job. checks off all the boxes. hates his brother (meh) related to william, and very easily manipulated. william used circus baby to insert part of vanni into him (with like a microchip or smth) and that’s that. micheal initially isn’t reluctant becuase his dad finally wants him for something (ouch) and he’ll do anything to make him proud, but after the Sammy Incident (tm) hes very reluctant. hes pretty aware and vanni lets him take control of his own body when interacting with the kiddos.
mmm i think evan would notice mike was off but would stay quiet because hes got his hands full with cassie and gregory. Elizabeth is a similar situation to micheal where her dad calls her into the scooping room and she follows because again, william finally wants her “help” with something. she’s used for information about what’s going on with evan and cassidy but when she says she doesn’t know vanni gets pissed and kills her so that she can be used for remnant to keep vanni active in both micheal and william. if anyone was to notice something weird about micheal, it sammy, then charlie. and ofc jeremy knows becuase that’s who micheal is mainly after until vanni can locate the kids.
henry has a lot of shit going on in this au but honestly, he just hides. he finds sammy and sees micheal kill him but does nothing to really help at first. he watches micheal drag sammy away and then the kids and charlie find him. he can’t bear to tell charlie what he saw so he just runs away into one of the remote security offices, which is the same one vanessa was in. vanessa tells him everything since she’s been watching the whole time from cameras but she herself isn’t strong enough to fight back, so henry takes that role from her. using the bracelet sammy was wearing (it has his name engraved on it but its a special puppet bracelet) she tracks him and tells him where to go to get the anamtronics (who are attacking the kids) under control.
whew, that was a lot. hopefully i answered ur questions!

What’s Charlie like in your au?
Okay Charlie! Charlie, Charlie, Charlie!
Charlie is genuinely 100% a real person in my AU. Not a robot.
That said.
She did inherit her dad's interest in robotics. One of the reasons she liked being with him in his workshop as a kid.
She steered away from that for a while, trauma of what happened making her wary of anything that reminded her of Back Then. But she still ended up taking to working with mechanical parts and programming pretty easily even if it wasn't directly into animatronics.
The evens of Silver Eyes go as they did. Going back for the memorial, uncovering the truth, nearly getting killed by confused animatronics, having to kill William to escape.
Despite even more trauma, Charlie feels very much for all that was lost. The children who lost their lives, her father whose dream was shattered. She decides that she doesn't want to let Afton ruin all of that.
She applies herself more into robotics, deciding to major in it at college. However, she also takes a side study into the supernatural.
She eventually goes back to the original location for two reasons.
The first reason: She wants to make sure the souls of the children are properly able to move on. She's able to properly summon and talk to them. Which gives her some insight into why Afton killed them in particular, and that the events of Silver Eyes aren't the first time he came back there. The children are worried about moving on, knowing that Afton could have become a Ghost too. And that he won't stop. Charlie promises to deal with that(low-key having already thought about that before).
The second reason: Charlie wanted to salvage the old parts. Get a jumpstart on how these animatronics worked. And also bring a little bit of her dad's work into the new place, even if she knows it'll all get replaced eventually. Ship of Theseus and all that.
Charlie moves somewhere away from Hurricane, aware that the people might be uncomfortable with her decision, and opens the new pizzeria. With better and improved Animatronics.
Over the next several years, Charlie expands the company. From just the little pizzeria, to the Pizzaplex. In between upgrades to the location, she works on upgrading the security. Making it as hard as possible for anyone to harm the children. Whether it's Afton's Ghost or some more mundane killer and/or creep, she has that on lock.
(No seriously. I have headcanons on a LOT of the security measures that should be in the Pizzaplex but Vanny deactivated).
Along the way she meets up with Michael and Elizabeth(now both Ghosts) and agrees to bring them into the company. Michael as part of Security, and Elizabeth eventually becoming a co-creator for the animatronics.
She also goes though a lot of regular Human staff, with the only one sticking around through it all being one of the first security hires Jimothy "Phone Guy" Deacon.
Sometime along the way, the Animatronics also start becoming Alive on their own. Not possessed, but genuinely their programming becomes complicated enough that they're people now.
Charlie, now head of the Pizzaplex and still working on it, is still very dedicated to both fun and safety. However, due to not wanting to let everyone know 'hey there's a serial killer Ghost who pops up sometimes', she does her best to keep that and the darker history under wraps. Not full on cover up, but just. Do not capitalize on the 'spooky rumors'.

talk to me about fnaf. tell me your headcanons
Okay, let’s see.
I do and will continue to until explicitly disproven believe that Cassidy was the victim of the bite of ‘83. This theory isn’t one I like to debate because people are SO awful about me not taking MatPat’s word as law but if you’re curious about why I believe the tag where I keep my fnaf interpretations is #story interpretation. I briefly went over the theory in that post, though certain parts of it are outdated nowadays as it’s been confirmed by the character guide that it was the crying child having nightmares, not the older brother/Michael Afton as I’d theorized. I guess I’ll have to file that away under theories that I can’t really believe anymore but still like to think and talk about along with my 2021 “Gregory and Vanny will be revealed to be brother and sister” theory which I still use for canon divergent AU fics. Also, if you’re interested in the Cassidy theory I could talk a little bit more about it, or if you’d like to share your interpretation of the crying child’s fate and identity I would be free to listen.
I imagine that the trauma the crying child witnessed was likely Elizabeth’s death. I think I touched on this in my fnaf 4 interpretation post, but it makes a lot about the family dynamic fall into place. Seeing Baby brutally kill his sister would be enough to traumatize him severely enough that he spends his days in mourning, emotionally overwhelmed and hurt enough to be reduced to tears at the slightest provocation. It explains the constant fear he holds as well, especially of the animatronics- again, he watched one of them violently grab his sister, pull her inside it, and crush her to death. He wouldn’t then be scared of the characters, but just the robots, which is a perfect 1:1 for his behavior in game. At the same time, Michael has just lost his sister, and his brother has become an emotional wreck. Having learned shitty behaviors from their abusive father, Michael projects his grief into frustration with his brother, and channels that frustration into bullying him. It’s absolutely not okay, but at the same time there’s a clear way to track how he became so mean. It went completely unchecked as well because their dad literally does not pay attention to them (????? What is his deal) so it just kept getting worse.
I imagine Elizabeth died in 1983, and this is relevant because I think that if she died in ‘83 and was reported missing, Sister Location could then be 1990. Seven years after Elizabeth went missing without any trace she would be declared dead, and that would be the perfect way to lead into Michael being sent to find her.
As for simpler headcanons:
I believe that the pigtail girl from FNaF 4 was one of the missing children. Does this make a lot of sense? Not really, no. But I somehow ended up thinking of her as the spirit of Foxy. (Again, doesn’t make sense. I don’t understand how this happened.) I suppose given she makes up rumors about the animatronics being haunted killers and deaths being covered up, rumors which would eventually turn out to be far more real than she could have imagined, I feel like that foreshadowing her eventual death at the restaurant would work really well.
I don’t think the animatronics were ever actually capable of walking. If you look at animatronics like the Rock-afire Explosion, Chuck E. Cheese and Mr. Munch’s Make-Believe Band or the Circus World Jamboree, really any of those types of bands (forgive me for being a fucking dweeb with a special interest in these things)? They… well, they can’t walk. Mobility ends at the waist. So here’s what I propose. The full bodied animatronics never had functional legs, and only could “walk” when worn as springlock suits. However, after the missing children disappeared, the animatronics became more mobile, specifically in the legs. The company just lied about it, the same way it’s been theorized since FNaF 2 that they lied about the animatronics having facial recognition software.
Vanny isn’t actually possessed or mind controlled. Glitchtrap isn’t in her head, rather an outside force manipulating her. The suit is a cover up, a mask that simply distances her from what she’s doing. It’s not me, it’s Vanny. It’s Glitchtrap. I am not myself. She absolutely is. She just does it to protect her mental state from her own actions.
But y’know who is possessed? Glamrock Freddy.
By Michael Afton specifically.
I imagine that each animatronic character has a different personality. Usually the shows and songs hinge on the characters interacting with each other, so I figure each character has their own personality. Freddy is kind but very easily driven to annoyance by his band’s absurdity, Chica is always energetic and coming up with some new idea, Bonnie is just happy to be there and goes along with all of Chica’s bad ideas while Freddy tries to reel them in, and Foxy is elusive, arrogant, brash and outlandish.
Although, these core personalities are switched around during different eras of the band. In 1987, Toy Foxy was kinder, taking on the role of a pirate captain who was always looking for more recruits. She encouraged her bandmates’ antics on account of it being what a true pirate would do, and Toy Freddy would have to talk sense into everyone, but was much more sarcastic about it- think 1970s-early 80s Chuck E. Cheese. Over time, the edge was softened on each character, leading to the Glamrocks. Glamrock Freddy is friendly and kind, looking out for his bandmates and having to remind them what’s important every time they start something new and ultimately stupid. Roxy, derived from Foxy’s personality, is competitive, brash and loud, but a good sport and always cheering her friends on. Glamrock Chica is really only interested in food, and tends to laugh off her friends’ antics. Monty is excitable and loves to compete and work with Roxy, but just like Bonnie, is just happy to be there.
The Puppet is a Jack-in-the-box, and stays dormant until she is manually turned on by turning a hand crank on her gift box that plays pop goes the weasel until she comes out. Then a child can select a prize and she gives it to them. Originally, the music box was a “warning” of sorts for her security checks, and she was designed to be scary enough to deter kids from trying to leave before they were supposed to, but not necessarily disturbing.
Golden Freddy doesn’t physically exist. I don’t know how to elaborate on this headcanon.
Elizabeth Afton has what would best be described as developing BPD. This is a headcanon I can’t really explain aside from that I have BPD and she reminds me of my young self. In the fan comic BlueyCapsules, which I haven’t checked in on in a while now, it’s actually a common headcanon to my knowledge that she (age 13) has BPD as she shows very realistic symptoms of it as a result of her trauma. Which is generally how BPD forms, especially through childhood abuse or neglect, which is also, kinda perfect for Lizzie who grew up emotionally neglected and abused by her dad.
Charlie being initially referred to as male (the minigame telling you to “S A V E H I M”) and then being switched to female (Henry calling her “my daughter”) is likely a retcon and probably the retcon that Scott Cawthon was talking about when he said he’s only ever retconned one thing in FNaF lore. I doubt that’s true, but this is probably the only one he’ll acknowledge. However, I think Charlie is a trans girl.
Shadow Freddy has been said to have been born out of William’s malice. In that case, I think Shadow Bonnie was probably born from the children’s agony. This is why Shadow Freddy leads the children to William and Shadow Bonnie helps save their souls. William wants them to confront him, and the kids want to move on.
I do not believe Vanny and Vanessa are the same person. I don’t think Steel Wool and Scott Cawthon know what the fuck they’re doing with that, to be completely honest as they’ve backed themselves into a corner with contradicting evidence and any solution would either be absolutely awful or retconning something. I think the best way around it is that Vanny is committing identity theft and framing Vanessa, or to go deeper, Vanessa is directly tied to Glitchtrap’s plans and being manipulated by Vanny by his orders, but she herself has no malicious intent and doesn’t want to hurt anyone.
This is going to sound stupid to say but Michael Afton strikes me as goth. I stand by my post where I said he listens to gothic rock. It just fits him really well.

SB: Sister RElocation thoughts that have been in my head (vol 2? 3?)
when Elle (Baby), Ballora, Golddy, and Bonneo are getting reassigned to the main Mega Plex (after Lols' reset breakdown), the higherups also decide to send the main programmer, who developed the adaptive coding the Funrocks use, to also head there to properly do diagnostics. this person? Sam Emily (Sam-E) (there was several Mister E/Mystery jokes in memos before this i'm sure). Sam's got Wulf as a guardian?? maybe he's a project that Sam is working on/testing, so Wulf's working off batteries maybe?? trying to see if the Circus Plaza could revert to being rentals instead of being confined to one location. anywhos, Sam gets called in too...so the kids have an adult on their side i guess. Mrs Afton actually was behind the scholarships that Sam earned to go to college; she watched him grow up on the sidelines just in case he developed his father's capabilities, and when he did made sure she'd get first dibs to use his skills. thus, Sam wrote the adaptive coding, which led to Elle and Lols being Elizabeth and Charlie (and Vixx might be himself).
in the post-main story/AU with Lilbit and Teddy...Sam finds Vixx wasn't fully decommissioned, but just put into storage, so he arranges for stuff to get moved to the Mega Plex (the Circus Plaz is getting closer to opening, so they don't mind sending stuff off site to make more room to work for a bit). Sam's able to repair Vixx, so VixxWulf.
but also, the Plaza stuff got sent down to storage, so they had to go digging for it...and they found the old yellow Chica. Chica doesn't remember being yellow, but she remembers things from when there was a yellow Chica (i like to think that the Glamrocks are at least eth secondary, if not tertiary iteration at the Mega Plex, so yellow Chica and purple Bonnie were from the previous sets, same as Foxy). this brings Freddy and Bonnie's memories into question, since they didn't remember her being yellow either...but they do remember the things. anyways, Sam manages to get her activated too, but with a new/modified personality matrix, so she is now Chica-Dee(dee).
the logic for this; Circus Plaza is going to reopen soon, so the Funrocks are going to go back, but they've all kinda gotten cozy at the Mega Plex. with Vixx being reactivated, Lols can stay (and Wulf can go to the Plaza, since there's no more Elle or Ballora), but Golddy has to go back with the Bons leaving Chica...but with Chica-Dee, the first thought was "oh she can go because open slot" but now Chica wants to go with Golddy and the Bons, which is sad because she's leaving her friends. but also Roxy and Chica-Dee sorta start vibing (because Dee is all confused about white Chica, and feels like an afterthought/replacement/not as beloved, and Roxy totally gets all that). plus Chica fits the Funrocks' most white coloring better (though Wulf being gray doesn't...)
half mentioned above, Sam dealing with Gregory and Cassie. he becomes a very tired babysitter very quickly, but does bond a bit with Gregory over games. but this does beg the question how he interacts with Vanessa, since they're both into coding and deal with the Fazgang. also the question of if they are related...
not my AU related but a thought i've had; i love the classic monster reffs in this. Sister Location having the Dracula stuff when the MC becomes a walking undead, and also abandoning your son that is just like you that mirrors William and Michael. but also giving Vanessa the Shelly surname, as in Frankenstein, because the animatronics are simulacrums brought to life by electricity in similar manor; plus her Vanny suit being stitching patchwork.

I have a feeling Puddle Creature would approach FNAF like watching Star Wars in release order. And then completely ignoring the Phone Guys and such because they’re too boring.
To show what I mean by sort of being in-character…
(And I’m putting this under a cut so you can prepare to have your head spin..)
FNAF 1 - Guy named Mike Schmidt takes a creepy six-day job, then gets fired. The animatronics “working” there are confused and bummed out afterwards… Unless we’re talking about the Angry Yelling Yellow Bear, then he’s just happy he gets to sleep again.
FNAF 2 - Guy named Jeremy “Fritz-Gerard” takes the same job, but he’s in the 80s. Everytime the animatronics scare him, they knock him out and show their past involvements with some magenta-and-purple-wearing guys. He doesn’t get fired, but he does retire in the 90s or something. Meanwhile, some other Fritz gets fired for messing with 10-ish animatronics at once.
FNAF 3 - Meanwhile, in Present Day Somewhere-Ville, a robot-bunny named “Spring-Trap” plays tricks on another guard. He doesn’t give out any hints about his past, but the arcade 3Guard plays at home does. That arcade might’ve been by five sad ghosts that vanished after he played… Doesn’t explain the “Bad Ending”, but oh well.
Oh and one of the Purple Guys turned into Springtrap, but that’s probably not as important as you might think. Probably.
FNAF 4 - In a different part of Somewhere-Ville, a random kid gets hunted by monsters at night. Then bullied by his older brother at dawn. Then he’s bitten by Angry Yellow Bear’s brother on his birthday. Yellow Bear’s “son” (Yellow Bear Jr.), however, promises to fix him… Though we never learn how.
FNAF 5/Sister Location - A guy named Eggs Benedict is a technican at a brand-new pizza robot rental service. He fails after getting thwacked by a huge claw on his fifth night there. This… somehow turns him into a zombie? That throws up gray spaghetti??
Also, another guy named Michael Afton tells his dad that he freed his lost sister from… somewhere— But nearly lost his life while doing that. Michael is not happy, and neither are Elizabeth and The Board Member of Somewhere-Ville Technology— Who might’ve been kept from some terrifying secrets Mr. Afton had.
FNAF 6/Pizzeria Simulator - Somebody opens up a new Freddy’s that somehow hasn’t gone wrong… Until an angry cassette player sets everything on Saturday. The casette might be haunted by a very angry manager from the ‘80s.
At least those mean robots from FNAF 3 and 6 are gone now?
UCN - Uhh… A scaredy-cat plays with Freddy’s ‘Ultra Cybernetic Network’ while a red crocodile and Angry Yellow Bear talk about him. They… might be ghosts trapped in another arcade game??
Help Wanted 1 - Freddy’s finally got its act together! Yay! They’ve even made a VR game to celebrate.
Too bad the guy from Ultra Cyber Network might’ve put a rabbit-looking bug in the system.. Or it’s Springtrap’s fault. Either one.
Security Breach - A boy called Gregory gets lost in Somewhere-Ville’s Freddy Pizza-Plex Mall. The Freddy there helps, but nobody else does— Not even this Security Guard named Vanessa.
Also there’s two rabbits named Vanny and… Springtrap but Burnt? One is mean and chases after you while the other one stays behind and calls for help from his “friends”. Freddy doesn’t like Springtrap, which is understandable.
It’s a Choose-Your-Own thing, so there’s no real ending… Well, apart from Gregory escaping.
Ruin - A year later, a girl named Cassie gets called into the mall by “Gregory”. She’s hunted down by Springtrap’s ‘Friends’ (and a blue hare that kinda looks like Purple Guy, with that huge smile…?) until she makes it to the basement. Then she realizes that it’s not Gregory, runs for it, and then… uh..
Either she falls down an elevator or she gets stuck down there. Either way, she’s turned into a ghost for sure. It’s just a guess of how and when.
Help Wanted 2 - Rabbit Bug gets squished by Vanny. That’s the only surprise here. Everything else is just training stuff for Freddy’s or some Freddy-type carnival rides…
OH WAIT. YOU FINALLY BECOME A GHOST AND HAUNT AN ARCADE MACHINE.
FINALLY, THAT PLOT THREAD PAID OFF.
(ahem)
Anyway..
The Story as Puddle Sees It: Freddy’s has a history of ghosts haunting arcade games, broken machines, and bears making messes of things. Most guards either quit or—if you’re Eggs—get turned into zombies with severe spaghetti allergies. Freddy’s has been refusing to shut down, but they might just have to resort to supplying Carnival rides to state fairs at this point. Yay?
Oh and in case you’re wondering about the not-guards:
Michael Afton is still looking for his dad.
Springtrap is messing with Freddy’s somehow.
Yellow Bear Jr. and Bullied Boy have long disappeared.
Elizabeth and The Board Member are probably gonna team up with Michael soon… If Elizabeth wasn’t a ghost trapped in a game, that is.
Mr. Afton is retired and has no clue what’s going on with Freddy’s anymore
Angry Yellow Bear and The Crocodile are still laughing at Ultra Cybernetic Network Guy
Ultra Cybernetic Network Guy still can’t beat Jeremy’s “number of animatronic tampered” record from the 80s.
The Hare is sad he didn’t catch Cassie. And that he’s still trapped in a box in the basement.
Cassie is sad because there’s no arcade machines to haunt (don’t blame her).
Gregory is sad that Not-Gregory is wreaking havoc after trapping Cassie.
Vanny and Vanessa are probably arguing with each other about the Rabbit Bug.
Magenta Guy is nowhere to be found. He probably got arrested?
The Arcade Ghosts from 3Guard’s house are at peace now. They’ve told their story, so now they can move on.
Oh and Mr. Cassette got his daughter back. Dunno which arcade cabinet she was hiding in, but at least she’s free now.
TL;DR: Puddle would assume the ghosts are in the arcade machines, not the animatronics… Among other things.

MORE DAD!GLAMMIKE
Michael was always terrified he was going to hurt Vanessa somehow. He tried to keep a distance from her at first while he was trying to figure out what he would do with her, but she always wanted to be around him
Eventually, he gave up
He Absolutely bought her stuff like this to wear
Tumblr media
He spoiled the fuck out of her in the time he did have her
Whenever Vanessa would cry, Michael would cry, too
When Michael would have a nightmare, the first thing he would do was run to Vanessa’s crib to check on her
After he gave her away, seeing the crib empty just made him worse
Freddy, to Vanessa: if you ever meet someone nice, bring them to me. i would like to meet them!
Freddy has asked about her adopted family before. She tells him about the divorce. Then her dead mom. And then her parents being happily married. When he points out that she’s contradicting herself, she gets all distressed because Fucked Up Memories. He doesn’t bring it up anymore.
Freddy put a photo of Vanessa on his mirror. The other workers just assume that she’s his favorite (which isn’t wrong)
Vanessa made the mistake of mentioning how she sang and played guitar in her high school talent show. Freddy wouldn’t stop bugging her about it until she finally performed for him. Everyone came to watch. She got a standing ovation.
Freddy once went on a huge rant about their family’s history, just to fill Vanessa in. He finished it by saying something like, “But that’s all in the past. William is finally dead. Everything is fine now.”
Vanessa:
Tumblr media
Nah, cause she feels TERRIBLE about her relation with William
She wants to tell Freddy so bad, but she’s afraid that it’ll get him hurt
And worse: she’s scared he’ll get mad and hate her
So she keeps the secret to herself, which might not be the best idea either, but it’s all she can think to do
When Freddy does find out he’s absolutely heartbroken
But he can actually recognize that she’s doing everything against her will and doesn’t have a choice
William is making her be Vanny. She didn’t choose to be that thing.
He knows his daughter, and she would never do something like this on her own accord
Vanessa is highkey jealous of Gregory, but she feels both stupid and awful for it because she’s an adult and he’s a child. One) she shouldn’t be jealous over a kid and two) he probably needs a dad more than she does
Still
It hurts
She won’t ever tell Freddy that, though

-
Moon: I wish more conspiracy theorists would really swing for the fences
Moon: "We never went to the moon" is so boring, pedestrian

Freddy, whispering: Why are there little handprints on the wall?
Gregory, whispering back: Because I have small hands
Freddy: Because Gregory has small hands

Monty, trying to get unstuck: Well kids, Monty has no fucking clue either
-
Chica: I sort of did something and I need you advice. But I don't want any judgment or criticism
Roxy: And you came to me?

Freddy: I wish I had a super tight-knit group of friends
Roxy: I wish I had friends
Monty: I wish I could knit
-
Roxy: Some guy just whistled at me while walking by and Foxy goes "Don't worry, that was for me"
-
Gregory: Freddy, who has never used social media aside from marketing, just logged into twitter, made a single post, and then logged off
[The post]
Freddy: Currently going beastmode upon the punk that pilfered my lint roller
-
Roxy: Call me an escalator because I let people down
-
William: I want to change the world
Henry: For the better?
William:
Henry: Answer me, Will
-
Vanessa: It must be so nice to be rich instead of like, having to develop a personality
Fazbear Entertainment: shut up lol
Vanessa: Buy my silence.
-
Roxy: you make me so angry so quickly
Roxy: it's remarkable
Freddy: I LITERALLY SAID 6 WORDS
Roxy: Yet here I am, boiling with hate
-
Bonnie: My favorite misunderstanding I've had to clear up so far was Chica asking me about the word "fuck". Because apparently someone had told her if she said "fuck" in the Pizzaplex she might be dismantled on the spot. Which I think is the funniest lie that I've ever heard
Monty: damn how brave was she feeling when she asked you that
-
William: What should I get at IHOP
Michael: Killed.

Note
This is for @soniccrazygal and Lotus_Anon for UCN AU, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this:
I always felt that OCM didn’t really approve of how the missing children acted to the security guards in general before the animatronics were dismantled, and with what happened to Michael, he was drained of whatever little patience he had left towards the vengeful souls. So until he feels they’ve atoned for their transgressions, he’s told them that he’ll keep them in his domain until either a judge, angel, or demon comes to say otherwise.
For the vengeful souls, I can definitely see a part(s) of themselves turning black as a sign of corruption by negative emotions like guilt, bloodlust, or vengeance. The sign(s) won’t vanish, but will turn white after they make amends for their actions. Depending on what the emotion is, will determine the size and placement of the corruption. It will keep going till they turn into a demon, or worse, a Nightmare like the ones from c.c.’s nightmares. Being occasionally hounded by Shadow Michael doesn’t help either.
As for Mrs. Afton, no amount of apology or amends will remove her feeling of failure at what happened to Michael nor will violently hurting the adult spirits for their mistake. As for the missing kids, she doesn’t acknowledge them for a determined amount of time, which is worse than the injuries she gave the adults. She does visit OCM to confide her emotions but beyond passing any spirit or seeing Michael, she keeps to herself. She has seen Shadow Michael but knows how he feels about her.
Shadow Michael comes and goes when he wants, choosing to terrify and force hallucinations on those who’ve wronged Michael or work for William. Unfortunately for Vanessa, that means he spends a lot of time terrifying Vanny when she’s hunting kids, taunting her by inching closer with each jumpscare or ghostly appearance. Side effect, Vanessa is “awake” more and Vanny is too scared to leave, especially after he turned the STAFF bots on her. Meaning only Vanessa is “safe” to leave the office. He also makes deals with people if they can beat him in a game of their choosing.
Lots of cool interesting ideas. I can definitely see OMC being absolutely fed up with all those vengeful spirits. They knew how letting themselves give into anger often got innocent people killed (the guards are prime examples of this) and he warned them multiple times that what they were planning was a bad idea and a mistake, one that would only make things worse and now they only understand the truth of his words too late.
