what is the post baking universe 😭 i disapheared from 2016-2023

hii welcome back ! so the post baking universe was a term coined by dan himself after the monster pops vid dropped on halloween 2016, cause the Energy during the monster pops vid felt so Different and revolutionary at the time! like the humour was dirtier, and phil's "innocent" persona was shattered a bit more. and in dan's words in the liveshow the day after, it was a "hot sexual mess":

"Yes questionable sense of humor, I apologize for that, I don't know why that happened. It’s- we didn't plan it, we didn't think about what we were doing, we just turned on the camera and it happened. So you think it was a hot sexual mess, I'm genuinely sorry, I don't know what happened, we just did it and it happened to be quite innuendo laden."

and after the vid, there was more of a shift towards this dirtier sense of humour! esp considering this was near the end of tatinof where they bid goodbye to their old "lions and llamas" branding, this was like the beginning of a new era. so whenever they'd make a more scandalous joke in the months following, dan would say "we're in a post baking universe" ! like he mentions it in "the impossible quiz #3" and "bubble bobble" and the following tweet:

first of all!! richard siken…. he has two poetry books out at the moment, crush and war of the foxes!! i used to prefer crush but now i like war of the foxes more. its rly just a matter of personal preference, both are super good…. i said this already but i associate literally every single poem of his w at least one jjk character. mostly gojo or geto or kenny or shoko (i am predictable)
