Kessen Spirit Cameos (and where is Ryou??)

I know I’m probably late (I’m too dumb to only check Kessen Spirit now lol), but let me get this straight, Kessen Spirit MV gave tribute to the athletes from the HoneyWorks universe including those we know and those we don’t.

But, where the heck is Ryou?? Main focus is about volleyball, and the entire mv included the Haniwa athletes, but they left out my girl who was the freakin’ volleyball ace of Sakuragaoka’s girl’s volleyball team😭😭. This could have been her chance to showcase her story outside Koyuki, tbh.

I just love this girl. I’m happy that she has her new song now, but she’s just too ignored back in those days😓😭.

On the bright side, I’m happy to see the Tsunoru Kimochi dude (I guess?) who happened to be an archer. I’ve been longing for the Tsunoru Kimochi couple for weeks now, so I’m really happy to see him again😭💖 !

The idea that voice synthesisers are trying to take over human vocals is so dumb, not every song using them even try’s to sound human. It’s such a cool instrument and a great way to tell stories, I don’t like the idea of it being filed down to evil AI.

Saying every song that has ever used a a vocaloid sound exactly the same is just blatantly incorrect. Some vocaloids do sound really similar but different producer put their own style into it and make them sound so unique ( I have included 3 songs that use Vflower and they all have their own special spin on her voice, which is so cool).

An important aspect of vocal synths is human creativity, we wouldn’t have awesome stories like the Kagerou project without real people like Jin thinking them up. Tuning a vocal synth takes so much work it’s incomparable to stupid AI covers.

I really like vocal synths it’s such a cool medium, sorry if this is long I’m very passionate about this.

I'm getting really tired of the hate Nagihiyo (and the shippers) have been getting these past few days from some shippers, so I want to make a post to clear up the air.

Koiiro ni Sake is many people's go-to argument MV-wise to say Yuuhiyo was supposed to be canon. Yamako has stated multiple times that the MV was only introducing Gen 3, and that Aizou didn't show up because his design was not completed.

Kaido Asuka from ASCANA is owned by Johnny's Project. Honeyworks does not own ASCANA. They graduated some time back. That's why he was retconned from the anime. Besides, you can still hc that the Asuka situation happened, and the Nagisa situation is a separate incident. Or not. It's really up to you. The timeline is screwed anyway.

The anime is a shitty adaptation that couldn't even get lipxlip's background right, let alone the characters personalities. Relying on it would be like relying on a kindergartner to tell you about things that happened 50 years ago.

The novels could be read as shippy, I will give everyone that, but the novels were not about love. Not even in HeroineDev. Nonfan was about Hiyori adjusting to her new life in Tokyo and befriending lipxlip and working hard as their manager in training. The point of HeroineDev is to help Hiyori grow to realize she doesn't need someone to validate her being a heroine. She is a heroine, and her selfless acts of bravery (ie: saving Yujiro twice from harm) prove that. However, while the novels do focus on their friendship, if it was meant to be read as more, then more would have been written.

Shito said himself that lipxlip will remain single. This means all ships regarding them are noncanon. Nagihiyo is canon.

It is okay to ship a noncanon ship. Attacking the canon ship and the people who ship it is not okay though.

It's 100% okay to be disappointed your ship is not canon. But if you're flat out ignoring what the creators are saying and then taking your frustrations out on shippers who are literally minding their own business, then you're getting way too invested in your own world and you need to go touch some grass.

I reiterate: IT IS OKAY TO SHIP A NONCANON SHIP.

It's not the end of the world.

So I found a video of some known Tears of Themis JP VAs singing some songs for other projects. It's a common thing for seiyuus to do.

I decided since I know nothing about the JP dub of Tears of Themis I would give a vibe of some songs they have sung with a video I found here because it's late and I should be writing fanfic, but it's Tears of Themis's anniversary today (depending on the server and timezone) so I should do something for it.

Artem

I'm gonna be honest here, out of all the JP VAs of the main cast, I know his the least simply cause I don't really consume a lot of content with him in it. I know I'm doing my boy dirty, but he's just appeared as like a side character in Re Zero and this blue-haired dude in SAO and that was about it.

So when I find him singing basically happy pop idoly songs when I'm used to his CN VA singing softer stuff, my mind just kind of broke. Just imagined Artem on stage singing his little fucking heart out and possibly being forced to wear a pink frilly ass outfit to go along with it.

Wasn't really expecting that at all to be honest.

THEN I FIND OUT HE'S A DISNEY PRINCE HELLO???

He sang in Tangled. Now I'm obligated to draw Tangled ArtemRosa AU. I will make it happen. Of course this man would be a fucking disney prince. Because he can.

So overall vibes: disney princess and he can be an idol. best of both fucking worlds.

So I know his JP VA more than Artem's. By that I mean he did Pheniox Wright, was in the worst season of Pokemon, voiced a side character in Your Lie in April, and of course, even though I haven't watched it I must give him credit for Eren Yeagar.

Then I find out he did a song for Honeyworks so technically, he's touched the same universe as Fansa now and officially covered a GUMI song. Fun. His songs are more on the pop rock side, which is pretty cool. He still continues to fit the Rosa Miku phase headcanon I have.

Oh and I'm not 100% if it's a part of Disney Koe no ojisama but he did do a cover of Part of Your World. Pretty sick. LukeRosa shippers have fun with that.

Dude sounds like he just does anisong. Like all these songs outside of the one from the fucking Junglebook sound like anime openings. Are they? I don't know off the top of my head but this dude could make a living as an anisinger. Marius von Hagen, CEO of Pax and also sang the opening to My Hero Academia because he can.

That's my vibe and I'm unapologetic about it.

Genuinely happy for Aizou's Voice Actor Shimazaki Nobunaga, who finally gets to voice a character who is more similar to himself than any other character he has voiced thus far.

HoneyWork has an occasional tendency to base their characters heavily similar to their Voice Actor, either in background (Fuuma, who is voiced by a trans male), personality (Aizou and Yuujirou, who's personalities are based on Shimazaki and Uchiyama, see their individual interviews if you don't believe me, especially Uchiyama who is just as prickly-sweet as Yuujirou lmaoo) or appearance (Midori, Kotaro and Kouda, ESPECIALLY MIDORI'S VA GERO, LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE HIM)

Even more details on Aizou's VA Shimazaki Nobunaga- even though he always voices cold, standoffish characters like Yuno from Back Clover or Yuki from Fruits Basket (who are coincidentally characters more similar to Yuujirou), the VA himself has a very sweet, puppy-like personality! He was also an utaite (Japanese Cover Song singer) before becoming a VA! Yuujirou's VA Uchiyama, on the other hand, has voiced characters more similar to himself before, like Tsukishima from Haikyuu, who happens to be both his and my own favourite voice role of his!

fuuma is so good and i love him. he is so gender. it's literally like almost the two year anniversary of the last time we saw dolce, ever, but also i love him. there is a reason there is a "fuuma & hiyori" friendship tag on ao3 and the reason is me. they are besties in my head <- (they have never interacted ever)

(i can and will ramble too hard about fuuma and hiyori and cinderella motifs and what that means for liphiyo and kazufuuma if provoked.)

her name is satoe and i don't remember what her last name is, which is bad, because i'm like the only person who cares that she exists.

because like!!! the scene of her getting hiyori to eat pocky with her is a silly scene with a lot of poly implications and it's funny that satoe literally showed hiyori pictures of her future boyfriends and hiyori didn't recognize the two at all despite eating SO MANY of the boxes. but also

it's a sweet and touching scene because hiyori is afraid to go to high school in a new city and considers giving up on track and field to try and stay where she is but satoe refuses to let that happen!!! she encourages hiyori to go for it because she KNOWS hiyori wouldn't be happy giving up a dream so precious to her and gives hiyori a push forward! she's literally the reason why the plot could happen, but she's been forgotten and overlooked and i want justice!!! i want her back!!! i want her to find out that her best friend has somehow managed to start dating her idols despite not recognizing them at all!!!!

i refuse to interact with the fandom enough to know what the controversies are or who's unpopular (though i learn who's unpopular through my friends sometimes). i can only think of koyuki and minami for being pathetic but also if i say that i think mar will go "you're using poor little meow meow wrong"

can i say that aizo and yujiro are poor little meow meows to hiyori's cinnamon rolls? because i will just to post more liphiyo pics

okay for legal reasons (self-preservation) i need to clarify that was a joke. i torment him because i saw japanese fans shipping him and manager uchida but like. arrogant teenage boy crushing on an adult woman and she's just ignoring him kind of way. and i thought it was hilarious and i think it'd be funny if that was how every one of his ships played out, even the ones with boys his age.
