[ chatting with cas (the My Love kind not the haunted kind) and like. one of the things that really bugs me, and i think is very underrated in the poke rpc, is the fact that people really think that some stuff is universal
like. of course everyone knows what mew is, of course everyone witnessed a megaevolution, how come you don't know the name of all the ultra beasts, yes of course whatever is in area zero is public knowledge--
LIKE MISS ME WITH THAT?? why don't we have a little more of a cultural shock!!
let some johtonian look in awe at the Z moves! hoennians and sinnohnians discussing wether groudon or regigigas are responsible for the creations of continents!! unovans watching kalosians go on gogoats and be shocked, and in return paldeans wonder why everyone gets bikes in kanto! galarians and kantonians talking about their version of the legendary birds, people in alola not understanding gym challenges, johtonian and paldeans occasionally talking about dunsparce and people being genuinely confused about it!
hell, we can go further! you don't know every single animal that exists, even in your area. who says that someone from fuchsia city knows what a jynx is? that every unovan saw a yamask, or even knows the lore behind it! and even more, sinnohnians who don't believe in arceus' creation myths! unovans who are completely unaware of the history of the two dragons!! kantonians considering mew just an urban legend!!! paldeans sharing theories and horror stories about the pokèmon of ruins, bad horror movies that mischaracterize trevenants as vindictive spirits, children stories about groudon and kyogre being sibilings who fight sometimes but still love eachother!!!!

Pokemon Backstories
Welcome to a post where my Gloria oc's pokemon team is explained in backstories. How did she obtain them and what goes on with her and them? It's time to tell them.

Ruby, the Scorbunny. Female.
Ruby was her starter, given to her to help her cope with her trauma with fire, to show not all fire was bad. Gloria was nervous at first, but opened up to her pokemon more. It may help her recover more now.
Grace, the Sylveon. Female.
Grace was given as a birthday gift from her adopted mother. Gloria loves her and tends to baby her a bit. Ruby and Grace tend to get jealous, rivals to please their trainer.
Yuki, the Frolass. Female.
Yuki found Gloria lost in a snowstorm and saves her life. She was intrigued by the trainer's past, wanting to help her get revenge, even though Gloria doesn't want to get involved in that anymore.
Honey, the Combee. Female.
She was found abandoned in a park when Gloria encountered her. Gloria felt bad for her, taking her in. Honey loves yellow things and sweets. Lots of sweets.
Moonlight, the Absol. Male.
A guardian for Gloria. It acts tough and behaves like a dad to prevent fights and such in the group. Was a therapy pokemon, but the person got older and Gloria was given Absol. Loves stargazing.
Nihilego. ???? May be female.
This was a curious Ultra Beast that Gloria noticed. It was obsessed with the human, wanting to keep her, so it willing joined the team to one day steal her away at the right time.

[OOC] Hikari's Teams
Galar:
Her team is still in progress! She's going to keep Corona (Lurantis) at Skull to fill her position while she's traveling for Professor Elm. Meanwhile, she's taking Corona with her to help her out around Galar. She found an Applin. His name is Pippin!
Alola:
As always, Hikari's team is in the upper 40, early 50s. She's been at this for a while. Corona is obvious, being her partner. Zephyr is her Archeops, who helps her get around the islands with ease. Aquarius the Goodra was a Goomy with eggs that was found underneath the Shady House that she kept and took care of. Eventually just got adopted.
Honey the Bewear was a Shiny Stufful she found while keeping an eye on an Aether trailer TAKING PICTURES of native Salandit colonies. Terrance the Krookodile is team dad, good at terrain leveling and dealing damage, and is the one Hikari asks for assistance the most, when somebody's trying to get smart.
Tank is the Clawitzer. He's a heavy-duty 'mon that's exclusively for battling at a safe distance. Need something frozen stealthily? Ice Beam with its Sniper ability. Make quick work, and also quick ice slides for fun and play.

lmao it probably annoys her a little...Guzma, honey, the calories...if you’re going to make yourself useful, you have to learn to treat your body better than that...says the woman who doesn’t eat or sleep but thinks wine and Nihilego venom are A-OK
the tapu cocoa is probably preferable to Guzma’s other usual alternatives though...his binge drinking aside, one time my Lusamine caught a Guzma eating birdseed

Ok, here’s the final Samus and Metroid Let’s Go Eevee Gay Wedlocke post!

Starting off with saying goodbye to Parakarry, then Samus’s, for lack of a better word, adoptive guardian?
And of course I have to end it all on Oak’s lab, so read it below~
(And yes, it’s very long and my back hurt writing it.)
“You’re right, the machine can tell that this isn’t a Mewtwo, but the Pokeball only shows Mewtwo’s data,” Oak said, tapping away.
“Be careful, or the Pokeball will eject it,” Samus panicked.
“Don’t worry, Samus. I’ve dealt with many a Pokeball glitch in my time,” Oak assured the girl.
“Alright, because I was hoping you’d release all my Pokemon if the wormhole goes well,” Samus said, pulling out her Pokemon Box and putting it on the table, putting her Trainer ID by it, since that unlocked the box.
“You can count on me,” Oak promised, “No more lies from me,” he added.
“Metroid’s Pokeball is already smashed from my moody phase, so i guess I should also hand over yours...” Samus suddenly realized, taking the Pokeballs off her belt.
Everyone looked really sad.
“Do you really have to go? Wingdings asked.
“We do, yeah...” Samus sighed, only realizing now that she couldn’t take these Pokemon back. If Metroid was an Eevee in this world, she would have no idea what the others would be in her world; or even how dangerous those bodies might be.
”They can’t come? Not even Cersy...?” Metroid asked, hopping down to Samus’ arm.
“I’m afraid not. If you’re an Eevee in this world, who knows what these guys would become in our world! Or even how dangerous those bodies would be! The Federation would never let me keep creatures around me like I do here! Not without threatening to kill them if they did any little thing wrong, and considering Jimmy’s anger streak...” Samus trailed off.
“Hey, I can be fine when I want to!” Jimmy sparked up.
“That’s exactly the kind of action they would shoot you for!“ Samus shouted back, closing her eyes tight. As she did so, she realized she was crying and coughed to clear her throat.
“Look, I’m not releasing your before we go in. Mostly because I’m not one hundred percent sure that Nihilego will bring us to the right place,” Samus sighed.
“Samus...” Dashing muttered from his place behind the doors, looking rather teary-eyed himself.
“So, uhm, Professor?”
“Yes, Samus?” Oak asked, looking very scared by all of that arguing. Even his assistants had stopped their work, intrigued by the other world.
“Release everyone if you don’t hear from me in 24 hours, okay?” Samus said, reaching for Nihilego’s Pokeball.
“...I wanna leave from the garden,” Metroid muttered, tugging at Samus’ shirt.
“Alright, Metroid“ Samus said, walking past Dashing, the rest following behind them.
Samus took a deep breath before throwing out Nihilego’s Pokeball.
“Goodbye, everybody. I hope you work out as couples, if you want that,” Samus said.
“Oh I’m gonna be with Honey forever,” Petal said through tears.
“Right back at you, dear,” Wingdings smiled, cuddling up to the Butterfree.
“Guess I better learn to swim,” Jimmy chuckled.
“Aww, spark!” Dashing smiled.
“Really, I was more of a mother figure to Met...” Cersei realized.
“Cersy was better than my real Mommy!“ Metroid smiled.
...And then Nihilego grabbed Samus’ leg with a tentacle and warped out with a wormhole.
“What the ARC!?” Jimmy shouted.

Samus fell through many worlds, clinging to Metroid the whole way as they fell.
She felt her head hit many floors. Grass, soft ground, hard ground, concrete. She kept her shoulders tensed and her head tilted up, but she kept getting hit as Nihilego dragged her through many worlds.
She felt Metroid’s body change in her hands many times. The fur changed texture, sometime it was thick, or her body was rubbery, or prickly enough to almost get her to let go. Sometimes she even grew in size, from something as tiny as a mouse to a serpent as large as Dashing (or maybe she was holding a part of Metroid in that moment).
Her own body changed, growing taller and shorter in an instant. Her clothes too, sometimes she would feel cold or hot, unable to keep her eyes open to look as she kept hitting her head. She lost track of how many genitalia she felt within her clothes; The thought would disgust her later, when she wasn’t being dragged so violently. Thankfully she had very short time to register anything as they went along.
It was only a split second after she heard the wormhole sound again. The ground was smooth, like a spaceship. Metroid’s new appendages were stabbing into her breasts. (She had breasts, she realized.) Metroid’s body felt slimy and sticky, how it should be. She felt her tight blue suit, her huge heel hitting up against Nihilego’s tentacle when she moved her foot.
Very quickly, Samus grabbed at her belt, finding her pistol there as usual. She fired blindly, worried she might be too late when she heard the wormhole sound again, but Nihilego seemed to screech and let go. When Samus opened her eyes again, Nihilego was nowhere to be found. Looking at herself, she saw that she was indeed in her blue zero suit, and that she was hugging a genuine Metroid to her breast. She quickly let go, wondering if the rules of their interactions would change again.
“Cersy...” Metroid cried out.
Samus blinked. “S-say that one more time,” she ordered.
“Cersy...?” Metroid seemed to ask, rotating toward Samus.
“I can still understand you!” Samus gasped, hugging the Eevee-Metroid as best she could with the odd body shape.
“But I can’t stay, right...?” Metroid realized, remembering Samus’ speech about the Federation.
“I know your body shape, though,” Samus said, “You’ll be easy to hide,” Samus assured her, looking around.
They were in her ship, so she quickly put on her suit, wanting to feel safe in it after so many many encounters without it. She had trained without it many times, but she had never been without it for this long; for four months straight.
Metroid didn’t like the look, but Samus hadn’t put on the helmet for her sake.
And for a while... They just rested...

lose yourself ✘ guzma & moon
The meadow was a blossoming sunburst. Yellow flowers covered its entire expanse, winding their way through trees, bushes, even on the rocky outcrops of the mountainside. The fresh aroma of its nectar was sweet as honey. Pokémon and people alike sought this place for its sereneness and for the cheerful Oricorio whose bright yellow feathers were gifted from the flowers themselves. For Guzma, the meadow brought other feelings. Memories he’d not lived in a long time.
He meandered down the worn path, slouching, with his hands deep in the pockets of his hoodie. It was a position he was familiar with, and one he took when his thoughts took over all else. The sun shone brilliantly down on the meadow below. He basked in it briefly, allowing it to warm him, but soon he moved under the shade of a banyan tree and its warmth left him. Several people stared at him as he passed. He felt their hate with every step. Guzma kept his head low and ignored them. He continued until he was well away from the other visitors before stopping at the base of a thick rain tree.
This was far enough. Guzma took a moment to glance at the massive canopy. Its branches reached across the meadow, greedy for the sunlight and the rains that followed. The way it swayed in the breeze and overshadowed everything else reminded him of the woman president of Aether. He shivered. Guzma slumped against the rain tree, resting an arm on his raised knee, and pulled his thoughts from her. He stared at the clearing nearest him with impassive eyes.
A Pokémon chirped nearby. Guzma thought about Metapod, his thoughts drifting off to that fateful encounter. He’d been a child then, and tiny. His black hair was thick and messy, and his clothing dirty, but his toothy grin negated all of that. He couldn’t have been more different than he was today. A Cutiefly landed on his arm and glowed cheerfully. Guzma didn’t appear to notice. He was walking now, entering through overgrown bushes and pretending he was a Pokémon Trainer. He’d entered the forest due to a noise—and followed it into the clearing adult Guzma was dozing off in.
It was his first experience with a wild Pokémon. His father had never allowed him one, but he’d seen them, and he’d wanted them, and if he could just have five minutes, father, please, he wouldn’t ask again, he’d do all his chores without complaint, then he would be happy. Guzma’s eyes closed. Now he was on his belly before Metapod, watching it struggle with its metamorphosis. It looked at him helplessly, and the child knew what he had to do.
“Come on,” he encouraged it. “I know ya can do it!” His younger self repeated his chant, urging Metapod on. It seemed grateful for his efforts. Soon Guzma was on his feet, shouting at the open air, his arms spread wide under the sky blue skies. “Go, Metapod! Go!” Child and Pokémon locked eyes, and for one moment time stopped. Metapod shone, its thick green body enveloped with radiating light. Out from its back burst the most beautiful Butterfree he’d ever seen.
It chittered at him, and his younger self giggled and laughed and ran after it as it flew for the first time. Yellow petals danced in the air around them in a whirlwind of color. He chased it until the sky turned dark and the surroundings gloomy. Frozen, twisting trees of crystal took the place of towering palms. The ground was obsidian instead of dirt. Butterfree flew on without him, and fear knotted in his stomach. Light refracted off the trees in a rainbow gloom, and though he ran to keep up with Butterfree, his footsteps made no sound.
A man stood in the center of the clearing. And where Guzma expected to find the Butterfree, he found Pinchy. In the man’s hands was a Poké Ball, shiny and red. Guzma’s face turned the color of curdled milk. He knew what came next. “N-no,” he whimpered, coming closer even though he wanted to run, run, run as far away as he could. His father towered over him, big and mean and angry.
His father shouted words he cannot remember. His voice boomed in the void. Pinchy stared at him with loving eyes. “Not Pinchy,” Guzma cried, his words thick with emotion. And as he watched, his father hurled the Poké Ball at the unsuspecting Grubbin, and he was too late to stop him, to protect Pinchy, to save him—
The Pokémon exploded in a cloud of dust. A woman cackled. Her voice was a nightmare, echoing through the night and its crystalline trees. Lusamine leered at him, all gold and emerald, her million poké smile flashing behind a terrifying laugh. He was small, too small, a child. Defenseless. She reached out at him with nails like claws. “No, no, no,” he moaned.
Her claws transformed before his eyes. He blanched as her arms lost their bones and thrashed at incomplete angles, her fingers elongating and resembling tentacles… And then her arms flashed and he was blinded by its light. A soft and menacing buzzing enveloped him. When he opened his eyes, he was staring into the bulbous bell of Nihilego. “NO!” Guzma shouted, his body twisting in real life. Hundreds of tentacles grabbed him, burned him, ensnared him in their electric embrace. It was too late to scream.
Guzma awoke in a flurry of flailing limbs, his heart pounding like it was about to burst out of his chest. “Shit. Shit.” The nightmare was too real; remnants of Ultra Space lingered in his bones, cold and dark and horrible. He was shaking like a scared little girl. This wasn’t him. Guzma ran nervous hands through his messy white hair.
He felt someone’s eyes on him. Someone he knew, and had fought tooth and nail to destroy. Someone who should have hated him but instead looked at him like he was just some regular schmuck. Guzma shot Moon an iron glare and rose to his feet, putting on his old swagger like he was the king again. How much did the kid see?
“Look who decided t’ show her pretty li’l face,” Guzma said, grinning widely. He didn’t feel it, but Moon didn’t need to know that. Kid didn’t need to know anything. His frown faded, replaced by a black look. A frown formed deep into his features. “Come t’ check on yer boy? See if he ain’t up t’ no good? Beat it, kid. I ain’t got time t’ babysit.”

s4 metaplot idea
sun/waning moon! the two runs happen at the same time (well technically devin starts half a day after nigel) and involves two separate teams of voices running all over alola (or possibly the same team at different points on their personal timeline, the voices aren’t sure)
at some point during the postgame, the voices (along with nigel devin and a lot of the supporting cast) are watching the fossil gods seal up the last remaining ultra wormholes. they get curious, start poking a wormhole...
and get sucked in!
the voices try to dash back through the wormhole, but it seals up, and because they’re even worse at navigation than they are at everything else when the last portal closes they’re stuck in ultra space
the thing about ultra space is that it’s super boring. sure, the colours are nice, but the voices aren’t that into nihilego, and the fossil gods killed everything else. they drift about as a hive, searching for a portal back to where all their stuff is. or a kid to possess, they’re not fussed
one day, a crack opens. the voices slip through, into a land of grey mist. at first they think this might be the distortion world, but (1) no giratina (2) no impossible scenery. they lose the crack pretty fast. this world is even worse than ultra space, at least there were things to look at there - is that a human?
yes, it is! there’s another one! the voices watch humans and pokemon leap into and out of the place-they-don’t-know-is-called-the-dreamspace. most are just faint shadows, appearing and disappearing in an instant, but some stay longer. some stay a lot longer
one kid with a cardboard box on his head arrives one day and doesn’t leave. he’s in the right age range, so the voices possess him, and end up running kanto in the grey void with the souls of dreaming pokemon. the voices get to be npcs. it’s weird
once they run out of kanto, the kid skedaddles. bored, the voices look for another host. that girl with the blonde hair seems more solid than the others...
they possess honey just as she leaps out of the dreamspace and into the pokeverse s4 takes place in
misc worldbuilding notes:
the s4verse was previously attacked by the ultra beasts, and while their pokearth is still functional, it’s not in good shape. the kanto/johto/sevii/tunod/rankor area is overrun by gangs, luke might as well be living in a moon colony, and unova, in addition to being filled with abominations of nature, is frozen over
it’s also a lot more technologically advanced (especially where robots are concerned) and a lot less weird (by pokeverse standards) than the tppverse
this verse in general is less receptive to the voices’ prodding, so they’re less able to shunt it into a familiar predefined path
the planet has a continental structure that looks nothing like actual earth (unlike tpprock, which looks roughly the same)
back in the tppverse, there’s this guy who’s been running around since cyan’s quest at the very least. he’s been calling himself red despite clearly not being the red. no spiral scars, for one, and he has a pikachu (which he won’t evolve) in the place the real red has bird jesus. after the voices vanished in the wormhole, blue (his self-appointed tour guide/minder) noticed him sighing in relief and muttering ‘at last’

flames scorched the earth as they were expelled from the celesteela's arms. the ultra beast roved around with little care for the destruction it was causing. buildings burned, a thick smoke filling the air and wrapping one's lungs in a fiery grip. with the UB wreaking such havoc, it was impossible to douse the flames -- any efforts would soon be undone almost immediately.
Oh, now this wouldn't do.
Aquarius could only do so much in the face of such an enemy. Hikari could take on a couple Kartana, and she had enough dealings with Nihilego to know how to make them drop faster than a stone in water, but this thing was a whole different story.
Steel. That's what first came to mind aside from the plant-ish features. The metallic sheen was all she needed to know to understand its primary typing, subtly cursing herself as none of her teammates knew a Fire -type attack. Might as well try putting out the fire first despite its raging.
Hikari nodded to Aquarius, the Goodra raising its antennae up high as she made the order, "Right-- Aquarius, give 'em a Rain Dance!"
The antennae seemingly moved with an otherworldly tempo, feeling the pressure in the air become heavier and the air damper. Grey clouds rolled over from thin air as the Dragon's summoning brought forth a cool rain.
First, a splash. Then, more and more until a torrential rainfall made a small dent in the flame. Not good enough. The threat needed to be eliminated, permanently. She knew the attack to call next, although dangerous to everything around her. Honey had taken to Hikari's side and loosely wrapped a protective arm around the enforcer to defend her from the coming blast.
