Yup. Another Baby and Glucksey Co-dependent day in Hollywood! Yay! The world of Public Domain is a weird place to navigate. However, there’s a lot of “new-old” stuff to play with as things age out, which allows for some fun, creative moments - other than just “B-grade slasher movies. The sky’s the limit! I can't believe they're making Pedro get a six pack for the Gladiator sequel. You can't just deface a work of art like that. That's like going to see Michaelangelo's David and going "No actually his penis should be bigger. Somebody get me some plaster." Totally unnecessary.

Ok, now that I had time to think about the show, here’s my issue:

It’s not hitting. This is something that I have been waiting for. I’ve been looking for an adaptation for years, and I was so excited we were finally getting one. The thing is, though, the show that we’re getting is not something that is going to occupy my every thought. IT SHOULD BE!! I SHOULD BE THINKING ABOUT THIS SHOW 24/7!! But I’m not. I finished the first 2 episodes. My life should have been forever changed, but instead it’s just a regular Wednesday in December. I really feel like they’re missing the heart and soul that made me fall in love with the book series. It’s just another Hollywood cash grab to me, and not a love letter to its creation :(
