Six(ish) Sentence Sunday

Thanks @blairwaldcrf and @ssmtskw for the tags! This is technically only five sentences, but there is also some wanton semicolon abuse, so I think it counts.

The thing about Alex is, he’s always ten steps ahead of himself. When faced with a problem, more often than not the solution will come to him fully formed and he has to pick up the thread and walk it backwards through the labyrinthine pathways of his brain’s logic until all the twists and turns fit together; until he understands the steps to take to get himself from point A to point B. He’s always been this way, to the confusion of most people around him and the dismay of more than one high school math teacher begging him to show his working. The point is, he knows that what he’s looking at is how they get June home safely. He just needs to fit all the puzzle pieces together so he understands how.

Happy 10 years of letting this team publicly ruin my life.

#Seta liveblogs hockey #New York Rangers #For context-- this was just before Rangers Flyers Game 3 of the 2013-14 playoffs.......Rangers won it 4-1 #I was a junior in high school and just got my license and had a few bucks an XBox a blog and a dream #If the Rangers didn't go on that cup run in 2014 I probably wouldn't've been as entrenched in this damn game as I am now #Man my 2013-14 playoffs liveblog had some BANGERS I was so excited all the time and didn't know what anything meant #But I did know we had a sassy goalie a fast second-year forward and a really old French guy who knew how to go bar down #There was a time when our Power Play was STRUGGLING god I wish I had the stats but we couldn't buy a PP goal on discount #EDIT: God looked back through the stats of that year and I forgot young J.T. Miller was on this team it seemed like so long ago #I honestly thought he came on the crew the year later (I might be thinking of Kevin Hayes though)#I also got the PP stats I was looking for. 15th ranked in the RS (18.18%) and near bottom of the pack in the playoffs (12.62% 🤢)#For reference our PP in the 21-22 playoffs was 32.14%#Oh how times have changed

actually i get why roy kent's attitude sucks all the time it sucks so bad to make a sport central to your identity and dedicate your life to it and love it and then have that very same sport fuck your body up so bad that you have to quit and also have chronic pain for life lol

#OBV i was never a professional athlete but i was captain of my hockey team i was supposed to play in college it had been the #center of my life since elementary school when WOE reparative ankle surgery be upon ye my senior year #gave up my dream of playing in college gave up my dream of hiking the AT now 5 years later (!)#at 22 i walk with a limp when it rains i cant run more than a mile without pain a #and i cant really do anything strenuous or taxing to the ankles without extreme precaution or risk undoing the surgery and being right #back where i started. haha

anyways, i’m thinking deeply about jacob playing ice hockey,,

i know nothing about ice hockey but i think he’d be a winger if anything,, like he’s totally speedy on the ice and he loves it,, and honestly, if the gang ever went ice skating then he’d 100% show the fuck off,, also he probably has, what he calls, his ‘lucky laces’ that he refuses to replace up until they’ll end up breaking - luckily they’re a higher quality, tougher set of laces so they’re still going,, plus he totally loves the rough and tumble of the games some times

i got sick last night/early this morning and slept til one pm because my sleep was broken. due to the whole ‘being sick’ thing. and in the dream i just woke up from i was a female hockey player on the stars and i had SO much beef with my one other female teammate because she was a vet and didn’t look out for me at all when i was new to the league/team and felt like i was on my own. and we were ARGUING while the GUYS were around on the walk back from a sad little COUNTY FAIR for SOME REASON and i could tell the vibes were sooo uncomfortable for all our male teammates who were also at the fair. also for some indiscernible reason. but. you know what. i am still irrationally pissed at star defensemen felina [lastname because my name didn’t give her one because dream me was pissed enough to use real first names over nicknames] that it’s almost overriding the fact that i’m def still sick.

absolutely wrathful listening to old locked on sharks episodes with cuda guys and prospects (jd call me i can teach you how to ask follow up questions that aren't leading) tonight, but i am collecting important cuda facts. here is nick cicek, jasper weatherby and brandon coe

nick cicek:

monologued at length about how great gannon laroque is p(me, googling "who the fuck is gannon laroque" only to find out he is a prospie who played with the cuda for five seconds last year, now down the whl again)

volunteered the information that he lived with reedy, merkley, and gallant last year and they made him buy dinner when he signed "and the boys went on a bit of a trip to mexico at the end of the year" to celebrate his nhl contract

#my dream cuda podcast is bears blueline #bears blueline was a podcast hosted by chocolate hockey and two hershey bears dmen and it was basically the greatest ahl podcast #and that mostly worked so well bc the two dmen had known and been playing with each other since they were 16 #but they would interview teammates and it was just so charming bc you'd see everybody's personalities really shine since they were talking #to their bros! it was such a good look at the ahl and an ahl team and just really wonderful #i have no idea who on the cuda has the personality to do that nor who has the kind of comfortable relationship connor and colby had #and the sharks pr would never allow it (chocolate hockey is a hershey bears fansite) bc theyre so married to having sterile content #but i want it so bad!!!#barring we need a cuda for gay people podcast #ANYWAY THESE TAGS WENT OFF THE RAILS #san jose barracuda #nick cicek #jasper weatherby #brandon coe #great use of my friday night lol
