Hob refers to Dream as Morpheus when he’s upset with him. It takes Dream a while to realize that- Matthew on the other hand is laughing it up (“told ya he was upset boss”)

I’m rewatching The Sandman, I started rewatching it right after finishing it the first week of this year, I’m obsessed with the show. (Not surprising, I became obsessed with Good Omens by my first watch through during quarantine).
Hob and Dream are most definitely boyfriends, even in my first watch through of episode six I said “yeah friends my ass”. Add this to my list of ships.
Why do I ship them? There is obviously no context given to ship them.
My friend you’re wrong. They meet every 100 years without missing until after their fight in 1889. Well Morpheus couldn’t make it to their meeting in 1989 because he was captured but Hob didn’t know that. He thought that it was because Dream wasn’t his friend or it was cuz of the fight.
He talks to the bartender about this fight in vague details but the way he talks about it, it’s similar to how someone talks about a fight with their romantic partner. You could say it’s because their friends, and sure friends can talk about a falling out similar to losing their partner because of a fight. However it’s too close to be “just friends.”
Also when Dream finally meets up with Hob after getting free from the Rodrick Burgis (or however you spell it) he smiles. He fucking smiles. Dream never smiles, the only time he ever did in the series it’s with Hob.
I might be over analyzing this, or reading too much into it, but I don’t care. It’s my ship, you don’t have to agree or like it, my difference of opinion doesn’t hurt anyone
