Benrey is wary of the creature seeing the spores#science team want a closer look dispite Benreys panic.#gordon had inhaled spores and was infected. another parallel to pistacios au#Gordon grows extra exausted only to start growing mushrooms. later getting Benrey infected#Benrey doesnt explain the horrors until its too late for him#Black mesa becomes hellish mushroom jungle and Benreys hunting the team for sport. all the while everyones dying anyways

First and foremost: FUCKING Disconnect. Premise is "Gordon is touch starved and derealized out of his mind and Benrey gives him a hug and there is crying and emotions." It's actually the fic that got me into HLVRAI in the first place! My friend sent it to me like "I know you're not into HLVRAI but I think you'd like this" and it was right. And now I'm stuck here. It's 7k words
All Fools On Deck! Based on @/melonsharks's pirate AU (not tagging them because i don't wanna be annoying), which is exactly what it sounds like. HLVRAI but they're pirates. It's got a load of feels and the sillys and they're so the most, it's 48k words and it just pirate-ifies HLVRAI and I love it sooo much
secure and guard. Post-canon, Benrey's keeping an eye on Gordon but really doesn't wanna go near him because he doesn't wanna hurt him he's protecting him and it causes chemicals in my brain, 4k
bad dreams and soft things, Benrey has a nightmare of Black Mesa and gets comforted and gay kissing and this has one of my favorite paragraphs related to kissing ever it's so soft....... 3k words

One Man's Trash. Not a game AU, it's a Frenrey meet-cute and Benrey meets Gordon because he's rummaging in his trash like the fucking creature he is. They can both be creatures, as a treat. Benrey's very gay. About 3k
Alien Abduction, in which Benrey gets kidnapped by the government and is really chill, he gives Gordon military to kill for enrichment and he is so fucking silly. 7k

What's primOS?????
PrismOS is a little project of ours that we want to develop more on and actually work on more, its about this operating system called Prism (Which would basically replace windows) that houses intelligent AIs that help with the running of computer systems from having a firewall, a safemode, Error logs, System admin etc!
They're able to adapt to the user of their system to have their own personality and even looks! Based on the user(s) that they interact with on a daily basis..
Within the system, Think of it kind of like Golden Cheese's kingdom where its a technological city within the system while the most needed AIs are at the forefront of the computer screen, all the system AIs are able to interact with the user(s) but only when the user needs them ie searches the function themselves by manually doing it or asking the Admin or File manager AIs for them!
On the flipside, with intelligent AIs that work on the system itself also comes with intelligent AIs in the form of viruses, malware, spyware and the like! Though, they have the capability to affect reality and the users of the infected system by unknown means which has also lead to fatalities.
Our main inspiration for it was a Hlvrai au called Y2kvr which we were in love with back when hlvrai got popular, but our other main inspiration is just actual AIs (Not the kind that just steals shit to generate things) in general and the evolution of technology over time especially from the 90s to the 2010s!
Not only that but viruses/malware that would brick and destroy systems like the Iamanidiot viruses or the ILOVEYOU virus even the whole potential Y2K crash too as just a technology thing!
And Kinito has now been added to that inspo list which would be great for the viruses and malware lot

Its been a while! Ive read a couple posts to catch up a bit and saw the post involving bubby having allergies and resonated with it hard because my allergies like to attempt murder on me when it becomes spring or fall. So i can imagine bubby (k!bubby aswell) waking up some mornings to a stuffy nose and all that not so nice stuff- luckily my allergies have calmed down enough to the point i dont get a nosebleed every other day- now that gives me the thought of someone getting a nosebleed and the kid(s) just freak out thinking they are gonna die or something lmao
If anyone is freaking out about a nosebleed, thinking it's the end of the world, it’s definitely K!Bubby, without a doubt
Sure, Bubby themselves might have their occasional bad days with allergies and all the atrocious good things that come with them, including the occasional nosebleeds, but it doesn’t get to them that bad. [Of course, they may frequently mutter or squawk out curse words and snidely remark how much ‘pain they’re in’ and how they feel like ‘they’re dying’ but that’s about it.] They’re simply somewhat overreacting for the most part, as they know they’re not going to die, whether because it’s simply allergies or because they’re the ultimate lifeform.
…However, K!Bubs doesn’t know this. They didn’t even know what allergies were until Gordon took them outside for the first time and haphazardly explained it to them. So it’ll make sense when, all of a sudden, their nose starts to bleed and they automatically think they’re dying.
Thankfully, after a couple of minutes [and a millisecond of Gordon whining about their brand new outfit dirty], both Gordon and the kids themselves, mainly Coomer, get Bubby to calm down by reassuring them that they're okay are indeed not dying. [Turns out there are a lot of things that K!Bubs doesn’t know about..anything. Most of the reasoning is that their researchers didn’t even bother explaining it to them, leaving Gordon to feel sorry for them.]
As for allergies in general, Gordon treats K!Bubs the same way that he’ll treat Joshua’s, making changes if needed until they're back to normal :)

You’ve heard of Mushroom!Benrey. Now get ready for Cordycep!Benrey :)
The Black Mesa cascade caused cordycep like alien spores to infest the facility. Gordon was spared because of the helmet on his HEV suit, but Benrey being in there, unprotected, became patient zero and began to infect everybody else on the team.
Stage 1: Confusion Hosts will become dazed and confused as the parasite travels through their body and begins to eat their brain. Headaches, blackouts, and fogginess will occur.
Stage 2: Seeking conditions for spores to grow Hosts will begin to seek warm climates of 20-30C (77-86F) and humidity of 95%. Perfect conditions for the infection to grow and thrive.
Stage 3: Death bites/violent outbursts Since cordyceps need wind to carry their spores and they're inside, they would bite down on other hosts to try and infect them.
Stage 4: Full assimilation Within a few days, assimilation is definite. The host will become a shell of their former self. Becoming part of the cordycep collective. All thoughts are connected, and they will seek out new hosts to bite onto others to infect the with spores into any orifices on the body

I’ve been thinking of like. A horror hlvrai au where instead of the normal accident that usually happens a bunch of toxic goo just infects the place and a bunch of the scientists (including the science team) become these fucked up mutated creatures who are just out for blood. But also Benrey kinda just .. resets? Like he’s not Benrey anymore he’s just a normal security guard (or Barney if you want to see it that way) and it literally so confused
