Blue Fire Tree

Prompt: Everlasting (last day omgggg) | Gift for @tinaillustrations ! Hope you like this fluffy piece! I enjoyed writing this one. 🤗| Happy HitsuHina Week! @hitsuhina-week 💛💙

“Fire trees should be blue not red,” Ichika mumbles while filling in the traced pattern of the tree on the canvass as Hinamori gathers her unruly red mane into a semblance of a bun. Her charge was a Shinigami apprentice and had the hodgepodge attitude of both of her parents. She was sarcastic, blunt, inquisitive, passionate, and kind.

Renji thought she was the best person to teach his daughter common spells to start off her training. Not that Hinamori disliked being the resident kido expert. She particularly loved the monicker, but there were times she felt she didn’t deserve the title. Like today when, for some other reason, Ichika and her was blindsided by arts and crafts.

“Wouldn’t you like the flowers to resemble your hair?” Hinamori clips the last of the strands and looks over the child’s shoulder. The colors spill out of the lines and the scenery seems to change from summer to winter.

“But blue is the hottest color. Imagine trees blooming with the brightest flames, the most intense warmth, and the most lasting flowers.” Ichika finishes the piece with a last dash of blue paint. The apprentice turns to her and asks, “Does it look so desolate?”

“No, not really. To me, winter has always been warm.“

Someone coughs behind them to get their attention. Hitsugaya Toushiro, captain of the 10th Division, stands awkwardly at the entrance of the dojo with a tray of tea and pot of biscuits. It doesn’t escape her notice that he used the tea set she gave last Christmas, and this observation makes her feel giddy inside.

Maybe I’m just appreciative of people who use my gifts, Hinamori justifies to herself.

“Hello, Captain Hitsugaya. Is that for us or for Vice-Captain Momo?” Ichika greets him as she takes the tray off his hands.

The blush creeps on the captain’s face just as quickly as his brows furrow in annoyance. He quickly glares at the mischievous remark of Ichika and redirects his gaze to his equally flustered childhood best friend. “This was not of my own good will. I was threatened by Byakuya to take good care of his precious niece, and it just so happens that this space is under my jurisdiction.”

Hinamori tilts her head in a slight apology. “I hope we don’t bother you too much. Would you like to join us for some art session? Ichika loves to paint today.”

He almost says something, but he stops himself. His stance goes from alert to rigid, and tension fills the air. “Maybe some other time.” Ichika glances from her current teacher to the captain and back to her teacher again.

“Oh, sorry for taking up your time.” Hinamori slightly bows, unsure of what transpired just now, and Hitsugaya nods in return. Before he is completely out of her sight, she calls out to him again.

“Shiro-chan?” He glances back at the sound of his nickname. “Thanks for the tea.”

He smiles in mild annoyance before he flash-steps out of their sight. “It’s Captain Hitsugaya to you.”

“Something’s bothering you,” Rangiku says to Hinamori as she slides beside her in the ramen booth. “Your treat in exchange for my wisdom.” She proceeds to order her usual ramen and sake combo.

“How was your trip to the Land of the Living?” Hinamori asks, obviously skirting the issue she wishes to raise.

“Kazui is subdued and gentle like his mother, but somehow, he manages to get into fights with bullies on the street. It’s his Ichigo genes.” The combo meal arrives along with two shot glasses. “How are you doing with the chaotic devil spawn Ichika?”

“She’s progressing really fast with the kido, but she gets so distracted easily. It’s cute though that Renji and Rukia are not pressuring her. Great parents. How nice it must be.”

Rangiku side-eyes her while slurping the thick noodles. “How nice what now – “

Hinamori plays with her empty bowl and fidgets with her chopsticks. “To not be alone.”

She chokes on her noodles and quickly downs half of the sake bottle. “Oh, this is great news! I have someone on my mind who would like to be in your company forever.”

Hinamori gives no response and instead continues fiddling with her bowl. “How nice it is to be also like Shiro-chan, content and busy enough to be single. How do I become like your captain, Rangiku?”

The smile fades from the woman’s face and is replaced by a bustling vein near her temple. “I’m sorry what did that short man do or say to you?”

“I asked him if he would like to do some art with us, you know, help me with babysitting for a few minutes, but he literally stiffened like a stick. Seems like he doesn’t want to waste time with kids or do any family-related activities. Or maybe he’s just too busy, captain duties and all.”

And yet he took the time to bring you tea, a voice screams inside her mind.

“That’s….rude,” an exasperated Rangiku remarks. She pours a glass for Hinamori and decides on a plan. “Unless you’re seeing him as….?”

“Huh? Oh no no no.” Hinamori downs the liquid in one gulp, suddenly embarrassed by her friend’s insinuation. “We’re just friends, childhood friends. I…don’t see Shiro-chan that way.”

“Sure, whatever you say Momo. Do you want me to introduce you to some people?”

Hinamori looks up at her, doe-eyed.

“I guess that’s a yes.”

Hinamori actually forgot about her request to Rangiku as she and her student started to settle in a rather serious kido training. The plan apparently was set to happen after a week when she came across a bulletin announcing her quest for a perfect match through a one-day interview application. This was the first time Hinamori wanted to be swallowed by the void and never return to Seiretei.

She finds herself visiting Division 10 HQ every afternoon but to no avail since coincidentally, Rangiku has some errands to do in Karakura, and won’t be back until the date of the interview. Or maybe it has also something to do with Hinamori avoiding Hitsugaya and having to do all the explaining. And so she had no choice but to wait for the inevitable day.

“Uhhh Vice-Captain Matsumoto, you said introduce, not organize a whole dating screening process!” Hinamori’s voice goes a pitch higher for each word, but Rangiku is too busy arranging the people lining up to notice her.

Her current captain, Shinji Hirako, chuckles beside the blondie, amused by the growing line of eligible Shinigami singles in their HQ. “You are quite the eye candy in our division, huh. Didn’t expect you’d have this many suitors.” He squeezes his vice-captain’s shoulder as form of reassurance. “You should have told me, Hinamori. I could have set you up in an arranged marriage.”

“Captain, that’s atrocious!” Hinamori protests. She walks over to Rangiku to disperse the line, but Yumichika and Ikkaku move to her side and grabs her midway through her litany of objections. They lead her to a makeshift container with two chairs facing each other and a table in between.

“This is ridiculous,” Hinamori mumbles her breath, her energy already defeated by the two dumbasses in front of her.

“Well to be fair, Hinamori, this is a long time coming,” Yumichika says.

“And the result necessitates this kind of method so stop mumbling and screen your admirers, babe,” Ikkaku supplies. Irritated, Hinamori chases them off with two fireballs.

The first ten Shinigami ‘applicants’ were too insufferable as they were clearly aiming for the prestige of her position.

“If dating a vice-captain would give me a higher seat in Gotei 13 then why am I still single?” she bats the question to the 11th person who sat across her. When they didn’t give her an answer, she sighs, “Next please.”

“Would you know what’s my favorite brand of tea?”

“Uhh, Robusta.”

“I believe that’s coffee. Next please.”

“Hello, vice-captain Hinamori, I brought you peaches. They’re my favorite.”

“I’m allergic to them. I’m sorry. Next please?”

“What are your strengths?”

“Well, I can do shunpo.”

“That’s basic Shinigami skills.”

“…………..”

“I’ll see myself out. Thank you for your time, vice-captain.”

“I know you’re traumatized by Aizen-“

The container collapses as Hinamori summons Tobiume.

“I think I will be forever alone.” Hinamori looks on as her fellow vice-captains clean up the mess she incurred over the unfinished statement earlier.

“I’m really sorry if I did the whole thing over the top,” Rangiku tells her sincerely. She hugs the raven-haired girl and waits in silent for the commotion to die down. “Though the last one was really foul, and you were valid to be angry.”

“I was afraid I’d burn down Captain Shinji’s quarters.”

“You can, just to piss him off. The whole process is so draining, huh?” Hinamori nods at the observation. Rangiku continues, seemingly voicing her own thoughts, “It’s hard to put yourself out there especially when they don’t know batshit about you. Would be easier if you have common interests or when they’re already your friend.”

The last phrase is said so pointedly that Hinamori’s mind automatically pictures Hitsugaya. She runs along with her imagination. How easy it would be indeed to spend the rest of her life with him. And as if her mind conjured him, the 10th Division Captain comes into view alongside Ichika. It looks like her student dragged him to the unfortunate event.

There’s an angry glint in his eyes that Hinamori noticed. It was the torn expression he wore when she wounded her knees back when they were kids, the same frown when she told him she would kill for the traitor, the same worried eyes when she almost died. But his eyes refuse to meet hers.

“You missed all the fun, Captain.” Rangiku stretches out her arms as she stands up. She gestures for the rest of their friends to come nearer so they could re-group and go home. “It was a bad plan, and I owe Hinamori one. So we’re kinda ready for your scolding.”

Hitsugaya stays silent throughout the shuffling of his fellow Shinigami, in fact he remains frozen for too long that Ichika elbows him to get a response out of him. “Come on, you ruminated one week for this, and I had to physically stop you from harassing the interested applicants.”

“Shut up, Ichika,” the silver-haired captain mutters.

“I’ll tell on you to Uncle Byakuya!” the redhead sticks out her tongue and runs over to the side of Rangiku.

More annoyed than ever, Hitsugaya grunts and storms off towards Hinamori. “I’m not here to scold anyone. I’m here for the….dating application,” he gulps amid the collective gasps that ran through the group and the muffled laughter of Rangiku who clearly foresaw this.

“Well, what can I say, but fucking finally!” The blonde swigs a new bottle of wine from inside her robes and goes to do a little crowd control.

Hinamori’s eyes get a little bit bigger, and she stares at him with mouth agape, but she lets him grab her hand, in a gentle manner that he usually does, and brings her to the farthest fire tree in the area.

“Shiro-chan, what did you mean……” She continues to stare at his hand who somehow refuses to let go of her yet.

Ironically, he is also staring at the same hand, unsure whether to let go right now before he can actually say something. “I don’t know why you had to go through all of that.”

“I’m..I’m still confused, to be honest. It was just a passing feeling of loneliness, and I rambled to Rangiku which she took seriously….” Hinamori knows she is starting to word vomit out of nervousness, but she halts when he finally lets her go. Maybe she has misunderstood his presence again.

Hitsugaya raises his palm to her. “Would you let me…uhhh…word vomit this time?”

She slowly nods, rather shocked at his insistence, and even more so when he chooses to ramble.

“Momo, I have a cold reiatsu. My touch is never warm. But I know you like green tea, steeped in warm water for exactly 10 minutes, and that you don’t put sugar. You are afraid of storms, and you need a blanket around you to calm down. You like watermelon, but I think it’s because I subjected you to multiple summers of conditioning. You’re my childhood best friend. You’re hardworking. You are a kido expert. You earned your right to be a vice-captain, and you’ll do greater things.

And I know it’s not enough to say that I know you, I’ve always known you, but will it be enough for you to allow me to stay beside you?”

Hinamori leans against the trunk of the fire tree, breathless from his train of words. “Oh my god, this is too overwhelming. I thought you hated being not single.”

“What?” Hitsugaya looks at her with a puzzled expression.

“You don’t like Ichika. Or doing art…with kids.”

“Well, Ichika is a brat to me, but she’s a good student and will be a good Shinigami like her parents.” He nurses his temples for the growing headache. “Momo, listen to me.” He steps closer to her and makes sure she’s only looking at him. “I panicked because I visualized you and me….and you know. It wasn’t right when I haven’t even told you anything yet.”

“Oh.” The moment of realization dawns on her. “Oh, that’s great.”

“So we can finally go back to how we were.” Hitsugaya lets out a shaky breath as he sits on the grass and watches as the red petals of the fire tree shower them lightly.

A blushing Hinamori crouches down to his level. “Well, not quite. You should know, Shiro-chan, your reiatsu has always been warm and comforting to me.” She reaches out to take his hand and intertwines their fingers.

Hitsugaya smiles as he silently thanks himself that he outgrew her by two inches so he could easily slip a kiss on her forehead. “It’s Captain Hitsugaya.”

Ichika tries to see beyond the wall of spectators but Rangiku is not letting anyone through. She huffs indignantly, wanting to know whether her incessant prodding and pestering of the oblivious Hitsugaya bore some fruit. She has no choice but to juice out all the details later on from her uncle.

On second thought, maybe she won’t have to. Blue petals swayed with the light breeze of the wind, and on the far edge of the Fifth Division’s HQ is a lone blue fire tree.

I have decided that I will be hosting the 2nd Bleach X Disney event for this year. The event will start on March 16th and will end on March 29th of 2020.

You can join in with fanarts, edits, fanfics, or just a quote, anything you’d like 🌟🌈!!

Q1: What are the ships for this event?

A1: I am hosting this crossover event for the lovely IchiHime and RenRuki pairings first and foremost ❤️❤️

Q2: Can I participate for my ships HitsuHina, HitsuKarin, GinRan, UraYori, IkkaYumi, ShunUki, KiraHina, KiraShuhui, IsshiMasa?

A2: YES YES YES 💜💜!! Last year we had some amazing HitsuHina stuff, I will not take the opportunity from this year’s event 🤍🤍.

** Other bleach ships are fine 😍❤️ as long as they don’t contraindicate IH and RR !!

Q3: what do you mean by that last sentence? Can GrimmIchi/KaiRuki etc etc participate? A3: Unfortunately no ☹️🤧 You can participate with other ships than ones similar to these, this event is mainly to spread love towards IH and RR 🥰🥳 ~ The only acceptable Ichigo ship is IchiHime ~ ~ The only acceptable Orihime ship is IchiHime ~ ~ The only acceptable Rukia ship is RenRuki ~ ~ The only acceptable Renji ship is RenRuki ~ - this is an IH/RR event mainly 😉✨ - it’s not a disinvite to the fandom itself, you can participate for other ships as long as the ships don’t invalidate IH or RR 🙈💫

Q4: ok so can I draw something for XY ship but show Rukia as a single lady?

⁃ You can switch the roles between the characters, for example you can make Renji the Merman and Rukia the beautiful dark haired human… You can make Ichigo as the Sleeping Beauty and Orihime as his Prince Philip… You can make anything and everything you want😼💪🏻 ⁃ You don’t have to be a professional artist or editor (( my edits suck, but I have a few ideas 😚)) you can draw a sketch and share it, you can share your thoughts about how a certain scene that reminds you of these ships, this event is all about positivity and sharing 😊💕✊🏻💫

Hitsuhina month 2018 & 30 days OTP challenge

Day 14: Sharing a meal

A/N: Day 14!!! I hope you like it :) Even though it’s AU once again...I swear, when the prompt “AU” comes around, I won’t have any ideas left ‘:D

Warning: Mild cursing and violence.

Disclaimer: If I was Tite Kubo, I would be drawing all the time :'D

A beginning

Toshiro Hitsugaya hadn't survived on the streets so long simply relying on his luck. White hair and teal eyes had once made him to be singled out by bullies, but now, with a tough enough attitude, most of people left him alone. If they didn't, they got to know he wasn't all bark and no bite.

Above all, Hitsugaya didn't fall into traps. And what he had in front of him, couldn't be anything else but a trap.

Judging by her looks, a girl wasn’t a small child anymore, but about his age. Either she hadn't spent a long time on the streets, or then she was just plain stupid. No one in their right mind would be giving their food away for free, being skin and bones and still beaming to the children whose greedy, tiny hands immediately grabbed everything she had in her hands.

Or then it was a trap. Organized by an evil mastermind, since even Hitsugaya couldn't figure out the motive behind it. Did she try to fatten up the little monsters, so she could eat them? Was she going to kidnap them and sell their blood and organs? Or were her victims guys who had gathered close to the alley, throwing glances into her direction and fiddling with their pen knifes? It couldn't end up well for her.

Maybe it was her happy smile, maybe it was the hit his head had received in a fight yesterday. Either way, Hitsugaya marched up to her and quickly dragged her farther away. One glare and the little monsters ran off, stomachs full. “What the hell do you think you're doing?” he hissed to the stunned looking girl.

“Oh, I'm sorry,” she finally said. Hitsugaya blinked, surprised. He hadn't expected an apology. “I gave all my food away already, but if you come tomorrow, or a day after, I can bring something.”

“Idiot! If you want to survive a day on the streets, you can't just give your food away,” Hitsugaya reprimanded. “You can't afford it.” He poked her ribs.

To his surprise, she didn't run away with her pride in tatters. Looking straight into his eyes, she countered, “What about those children? They're too small to get food on their own.”

Hitsugaya huffed. “Contrary to you, those little monsters are street-smart. They know how to exploit an idiot like you,” he fired. She opened her mouth to defense herself, but he didn't let her. “Moreover, children aren't only ones who want your food. If you share it in public, you'll meet people who want it all, no matter what it takes.”

As if on cue, they heard a shout. “Hey, girl! Give us your food!” Hitsugaya cursed at his mistake to allow the girl to capture all his attention and turned to face the three guys who had stared at her before. Closer, they looked even worse: a slight gleam in their eyes, smirking and showing their yellowish teeth with a hint of black in their gums. Each one of them held a knife.

Yep, the damn girl was going to get him killed.

“If you give it now, we may not hurt you very much,” one of them said. “Or we may.” A laugh.

Hitsugaya stepped in front of her. “Ooh, she's got a prince,” the one who looked like a leader hollered. “But I doubt–“

For some ridiculous reason, bad guys always expected their victims to have some decency and not to interrupt them. But why should Hitsugaya wait? He knew those guys wanted to hurt them, and didn't they say offense was the best defense? In addition to his small size, he managed to surprise them – and more often than not, surprising the enemy meant living for a little bit longer.

Hitsugaya tackled the leader and elbowed his head to the concrete, jumping to hit the next one before the leader had even crashed to the ground. While the third one was gaping at the sight of his mates being beaten up, Hitsugaya wrenched the knife from his hands, snatched two others from the ground and grabbed the girl's hand before sprinting away. Since he already had one knife for cutting food, he threw the knives he had taken into the closest bin. Despite his claims about being able to do anything to survive, there was a certain line he wasn't willing to cross.

Several minutes later, Hitsugaya stopped in the middle of a remote alley. “You don't go blabbering to anyone about this place, got it?” he warned. After her nod, he pushed himself up on a bin, helped her there too and then jumped up on a tiny deck between two houses. He walked on it for awhile and then moved aside a couple of planks on the left wall before crawling in.

Having scrambled into his home, she looked around, brown eyes wide open and mouth agape. “It used to be an attic, but for some reason, it was separated from the rest of the house,” Hitsugaya explained as he walked to a corner where there was a stack of bundles, his voice echoing in a large room. “My guess is that someone was murdered here.”

“M-murdered?” To his amusement, she actually seemed to startle. Her look of wonder changed into one of fear, and she looked around as if a ghost could appear anytime. “Why do you live here then?”

He shrugged. “It could be smaller, but because it's well weatherstripped, I won't die of hypothermia in the winter if I wear enough clothes. It's in such a location that most of people don't easily find here.” A grin. “It took me embarrassingly long to get this wasn't a trap, but a dream come true.”

She stared at him, seeing his smile for the first time. Before she had time to process it though, a piece of bread hit her and fell to the floor. Quickly, she caught a chunk of cheese and a half of an apple. Having raised her gaze, she saw him grinning, this time to her. “Good reflexes,” he praised and bit his piece of fruit. Despite the cool air, she felt warm all over.

“I take my words back,” the boy soon said, rolling his eyes. “Anyone living on the streets would have wolfed a free meal down already.” At least he had.

“I can't take your food!”

“Yes, you can,” he sighed. “You gave your food away.”

“Actually, I've got my own hiding place,” she said, still offering the food back to him. “And a small garden.”

“If you were clever, you would have thought about what you're going to eat in the winter and stored something instead of giving everything away,” he grunted.

Her smile didn't waver. “Guess I'm clever, then.”

After a moment's silence, he admitted, “Okay, you're smarter than what I thought.” She laughed happily. “But your idea of giving food for free in such a place was still a stupid idea.” He continued, “And what if I had been similar to those guys out there? I would have gotten the location of your hiding place out of you in a matter of seconds and taken all your food.”

“And I could blabber to everyone about your hiding place,” she replied. “Don't say the dead don’t tell tales, because you wouldn't have killed me. You didn't kill those guys even though they tried to kill both of us.”

“Toshiro Hitsugaya,” he said and offered her his hand to shake. She took it. “Momo Hinamori.”

Hitsugaya nodded to the food in her hands. “Eat.” Seeing her still hesitating, he sighed and said, “You can share your food with me next time.”

I did this quick sketch yesterday, Jan. 30 because I have a feeling that I’ll be too busy prepairing for New Year’s eve .

This was based from the concept of red string of fate , Hitsugaya looking at Momo to show that he’ll always look out for her and be by her side(obviously this is canon) while Hinamori looking away (I think she’s still oblivious of Hitsugaya’s feelings in manga hehehe) .As you can see the red string are tied up at the middle instead of a straight line , I reference that for their bond on ehat happened in manga (which is canon).

Happy New Year to all of you ! May Hitsuhina grow stronger this coming 2018 🤗😉😁

It's just the first ship that come to my mind when someone ask me that. So probably it's stuck deep in my chest more than I thought.

Probably the #2 because we can see their conection very well during the episodes and It's so intensely intimate that some times hurts? Because they are the ship that you ship to suffer. They are so intense, so expressive, so desesperate about the well been of each other, or the simple fact that they use another tone of voice with each oher just because they care so much that it's just impossible to treat as equals compare to the rest of the team.

8. Out of all of your ship listed, wich ship has the strongest bond? I'm between Sheith and Anisoka. Both of them has a strong bond, but I think I'll choose Anisoka.

9. How many times have you read/watched 10's fandom? I don't remember how many, but I re-read a lot of times, mainly their sad moments </3

11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up? Never? hruehrue Like their are not canon, yet, so well until the moment zero times.

Hitsuhina Gift Exchange 2021

Hi everyone,

If you haven’t already, please check out the themes for this year’s Two Weeks of Hitsuhina here!

As with the last few years there will be a gift exchange. If you're interested in participating in this year's gift exchange, please either comment on or reblog this post (a ‘like’ won’t count), or send a message either this blog or my main blog (@rays-of-fire-and-ice) letting me know by June 16th.

For those who haven’t participated in the Hitsuhina Week Gift Exchange, here’s what you need to know:

1) After you've sent me a message saying you'd like the participate, I will message you about any sort of theme or preferences you have for your gift (the default will be the themes of the last day of the week).

2) After the 16th, everyone who agreed to participate will be randomly assigned a partner. Everyone will get the details of what their partner wants in their gift and are encouraged to incorporate whatever they've requested into the gift (so long as it’s within the rules and & guidelines set out here and the additional rules down below). Keep in mind that all the partners will be randomly assigned, so just because you have someone doesn’t automatically mean that they also have you!

3) On the last day of the Two Weeks of Hitsuhina, everyone who participated will send their partner their gift. This can be done through either a private message to the partner or submitting a post to their blog. When you’ve gotten your gift, make sure to post it and tag the person who gifted it to you. However, if there’s an issue with trying to do either of these things, please post your gift to your partner on your blog and tag them.

Here are some additional rules to keep in mind:

a) Anything counts as a gift (it can be a fanfic, fanart, misc, edit, gif set, etc.). As long as it’s an original work, anything goes.

b) No gifts should be NSFW.

c) Any gift that you receive should be posted and tagged giving the original creator credit. Even though the gift was meant for you, I’m sure we’d all love to see how amazing it is!

d) If you put your name down to be included in the event, please actually do participate. People put a lot of time and effort into their gifts, and really work do look forward to receiving one in return. So if you suddenly end up not being able to participate for whatever reason, let me know so I can work something out and make sure that the person that was supposed to receive a gift from you still gets something.You can read about day 14′s default theme and the other themes here.

Hitsuhina Week 2019 - Suggestions & Voting are Closed!

Thank you so much to everyone who suggested themes for the week; we got 44 suggestions in total (wow!).

Because we got as many suggestions as we did, Sakura and I have decided each day will have two themes to choose from again - so in total there will be 14 themes.

Themes will be decided by a random number generator. For the specifics of how the themes will be picked, you can read more below in the ‘keep reading’. We’ll make a post with the themes and dates in the next few days. We’ll also be making a seperate post for the gift exchange very soon.

Picking themes:

First, the themes will be numbered from 1 to 44 in the order they were suggested/submitted to us. We’ll use this random sequence generator five times. The top 13 numbers of the fifth result will be the themes used for the week; specifically, the first 13 numbers will be compared to the original list of 44. For example, ‘Tears’ was the second theme to be suggested, so it’ll be number 2. If number 2 is in the top 13 of the fifth result,‘Tears’ will be a theme for the week.

Hitsuhina Weeks 2017: Day 14 - Nobody but You

Here it is, folks. The fruits of five months of labour. The condensed version of the Hitsuhina bond and the important moments for them as individuals. I worked on these in the spare time I had during studies, and seeing as we organised the two weeks of Hitsuhina, I figured that would be a good time to post this. I’ll put explanations of what’s going on in the background panels below the ‘keep reading’ for anyone who’s interested.

Otherwise, it’s been a great two weeks, and I wish everyone a happy new year. Let’s keep Hitsuhina alive next year too :D

Childhood – I had the most fun drawing this one out of all the five. It’s the one I had the clearest vision for from start to finish. The pattern on Momo’s kimono was inspired by this material.

1st panel: This is one of the many scenarios I have imagined for how Toshiro and Momo first met. Basically, Toshiro would go out during the Winter season while it was snowing (as very few Junrinan residents dared to brave the cold weather), but one day, he see a girl he doesn’t recognise standing under a tree, looking at the silhouette of the Seireitei in the distance. She notices him and starts talking to him, and the whole time he is confused about why this girl would talk to him.

2nd panel: This is just a depiction of Junrinan, specifically Toshiro’s house. It’s meant to be a part of the coloured piece of them in the foreground (I guess you could take it as a typical day in the lives of Toshiro and Momo prior to the latter going to the Academy)

3rd panel: I never realised how much I needed to draw Toshiro as a baby until I started this XD I headcanon that Granny found Toshiro as a baby and decided to raise him as though he were her biological grandson. Ha to use a lot of anime references for Granny.

4th panel: This is one of the many times they’ve watched the sunset together.

Academy Days – I couldn’t think of many Academy moments they’d share together, considering Momo was in a different year to Toshiro and graduated before Toshiro finished (according to this track), and Toshiro was only in the Academy for a year. I based Momo’s pose in the foreground on her colour cover for the Academy chapter with Renji and Kira.

1st panel: This is based on track 8 and was partly inspired by Tama-chan’s rendition of the scene. I had planned to draw this moment much earlier in the year, but I never got around to it. Thankfully I got to do it for this!

2nd and 3rd panels: These from the same moment, where they just happen to pass each other in the hallway. I wanted to make use of the gaps between the panels, so I used it here to show that, despite being in the same place, they’re growing distant…at least, I hope that’s what it managed to convey ^^; Also decided to include a Kusaka cameo for anyone who likes the DiamondDust Rebellion.

4th panel: Momo getting her Shinigami uniform, a day Toshiro recalled while confronting Aizen and was a massive turning point for Momo herself.

Soul Society, Arrancar, & Fake Karakura Town arcs – This was the hardest one to do. This is the period of in the series is where they had the most moments together and it was so hard to choose from the many scenes these two had on and off screen/panel. Ultimately, I went with the moments that I was able to fit into the narrow spaces.

1st panel: Chapter 224/ episode 126 from Momo’s perspective when Toshiro forgives her and tries to brush off the weight of what happened between them. Didn’t quite turn out how I wanted, but I’m happy enough with the result.

2nd panel: Chapter 131/ episode 47 where Momo expresses her grief and confusion to Toshiro about Aizen’s final wish. It is also a redraw of a panel from one of the first fanart pieces I posted on here. I was very close to drawing the scene where Aizen reveals his true nature to her, but I found it difficult to crop that moment into the narrow panel.

3rd panel: Out of every panel I drew, this was hardest to draw because of how emotional it got me (the angst, the angst!) and it challenged me with trying to fit the moment into the panel ;_; Chapter 392/episode 293...gosh darnnit!

4th panel:Toshiro working away at becoming stronger for Momo’s sake in the cave from chapter 423. I forgot to add in the vapour for his breathng now that I look at it >o<

Lost Agent & The Thousand-Year Blood War arcs – Only one on-screen moment between these two during these arcs, so I had to get a little creative with this one. For the coloured part, I used the anime scene in episode 34 where their bond is first introduced for reference.

1st panel: It’s the moment I wish Kubo had drawn – the moment where Toshiro and Momo reunite months after the Winter War. I imagine it was an emotional moment, to say the least, with several tears shed from both parties and a long discussion about what happened and where they’ll go to from there.

2nd panel: This was a hard one to decide on, but in the end I went with Toshiro’s Vizard form, because leading up to this scene, Toshiro went through the trauma of losing one of his closest companions, trained to compensate for the loss, only to lose his battle and Rangiku, but then regains Hyourinmaru and defeats the person who took one of the most important beings in his life away. Other moents I considered for this were Zombie Hitsugaya, Momo’s reaction to Toshiro’s reiatsu disappearing, and Toshiro and Rangiku coming out the tanks.

3rd panel: The one moment where they’re in the same scene...and I just end up drawing Momo XD I tried to find a way to fit both Toshiro and Momo in, but nothing worked. In the end, I figured just Momo [carrying Shinji] was enough to represent the scene. Ever since BLEACH ended, I got the impression that Kubo had intended to have a big moment for them during the Thousand-Year Blood War arc (i.e. perhaps Toshiro making a more obvious effort to protect Momo, who sees how far he has come since Aizen’s defeat, or maybe a flashback on how Momo recovered and reconcilled with Toshiro); but because of his declining health, he wanted to wrap up BLEACH and gave us the small moment in 659 instead. I’m grateful for this scene and only wish it were animated T_T

4th panel: Momo healing Toshiro, a moment I headcanon happened after Yhwach was defeated; I was tempted to draw Toshiro in his matured form, but decided for his original form because it felt right for this scene. Also, I tried to make his hair a bit fluffier because of all the action he just went through XD

10 year timeskip and beyond – Got creative for the final one. I came up with way too many scenes, but some of them I knew I wouldn’t be able to draw with my current skill level at drawing. In the end, I decided to show them during the seasons (i.e. the first panel is in Summer and the last one is in Spring) in moments of peace and quiet.

1st panel: Toshiro’s reaction to Momo’s new haircut. I imagine he was a little surprised at how matured she suddenly looked, and basically said something along the lines of [while blushing] “Uh...yeah, it looks great! Why the heck do you want my opinion? Can we just get out fo the sun? It’s hot out here!” Momo’s hands didn’t turn out how I wanted them to, but oh well.

2nd panel: A typical autumn day when they can spend time together. The Soul Society is finally at peace, so they can now chill out and take long naps under the trees :P Momo’s reflective here, thinking about the long peace they’ve had and happy memories of her childhood.

3rd panel: This is meant to represent a lot of momets. This is the moment after they confess their feelings for each other. A typical moment on one of their first dates. The moment after they’ve shared their first kiss. More specifically, the tender and sweet moments that come between them as their love each other grows and grows.

4th panel: The two of them a century later as adults. Their love for one another is fully realised and they now spend everyday together [outside of work] as a married couple. I was hoping to show a wedding ring somewhere, but I wouldn’t think of a natural pose for it. Also, I have a few interpretation about how Toshiro would look as an adult. As you can see, the one I ended up choosing involved him having long hair, mainly inspired by Hyourinmaru’s design.
