Smailholm Tower in winter
Viewed by the track from Sandyknowe Farm with a thin layer of ice on the pond to the east of the tower. The 15th century tower is in the care of Historic Scotland and is open all year. It houses an exhibition of tapestries and costumes relating to Sir Walter Scott's Minstrelsy of the Scottish Borders.
