The biggest mistake I've made so far in BG3 is naming my character Glaz and having Gale in my party. There are so many little text pop-ups of status effects and actions and so on and at a glance I am constantly mixing up the names
#the obvious solution is to swap out gale but i like him :) and he's my offensive magic user#also ive primarily been playing with gale astarion and shadowheart (i'm playing a fighter) so it's good to have gale as our moral center lo#glaz is a name lifted from a very old oc i never did anything with#but i think it works well as a half-orc name#normally i play games where you can create a character more or less as myself#but bg3 is so much just... dnd that it felt kinda weird to do that#i didn't really have existing ocs or dnd characters i could pull from so character creation was very much in the moment#but im having fun#ive played like 25 hours and im alllllmost done with act 1 i think lol#j rambles#in which j liveblogs#baldur's gate 3

So what are your thoughts on the second AK x R6 Collab? Do you look forward to it?
Personally, I'm a little sad my boys Wamai, Jager, Glaz, etc didn't make the cut, nor any of the Nighthaven crew like Osa and Kali. This makes sense (HG's approach is basically isekaing the Rainbow crew into Arknights and passing them off as funny aliens in a world of animal people rather than using any Rainbow Six storylines, which is probably for the better), I'm just a little sad that among the new batch the only character I actually play often enough to call a main is Fuze.
That being said, I'm looking forward to it. Originium Dust was one of my favorite AK events, and I really liked how HG translated the R6 characters into its tower defense gameplay, they showed some real creativity along with a weirdly specific understanding of Siege memes (such as the Rainbow ops calling Tachanka, Lord Tachanka, which is not something that's canon to R6S that's an in-joke the players have because Tachanka is a terribly weak but beloved and fun character).

What makes me confident they'll bring that same creativity to translating their FPS gameplay into Arknights is that they made Doc an Instructor Guard. Like, holy shit, it takes a great understanding of Siege to see a medic character whose special skill is that he heals people and then NOT make him a Medic in AK.
Do you know why Doc's an Instructor Guard despite being a medic? Because when you actually see a Doc in a match of R6 Siege, they don't sit behind their allies pumping them with heals every time they take damage. You only have limited healing darts, and you can heal people at full HP to overheal. No. When you're fighting a Doc, you see him grab a partner (usually Rook), jamming them full of heals while their health is full to overdose on their HP, then healing HIMSELF to overdose his HP, and then both of them run out of cover guns blazing to kill as many Attackers as they can before they are blown to hell.
HG understands that well enough that instead of making him a medic, they make him the Guard class that sits behind another unit, buffing them but also meant to do DPS. That's fantastic, I am completely sure someone at HG remains a dedicated Siege player to this day.
Plus, I do love that the Free units on both R6S events are notoriously terrible but fan-favorite characters. Before his rework in R6S, Tachanka sucked ass, and after his rework he still wasn't picked competitively all that much, but he HAD to be the star of the event because he's Lord Tachanka with an LMG that rips through everything and is incredibly satisfying to use. In the same vein, Fuze is infamous for LOSING more games for his team than winning, since his gadgets are bouncing cluster bombs that often kill his teammates, the hostage they're rescuing, or even himself sometimes while completely missing actual enemies. You pick this guy and it's halfway to a loss already, so you're either a god on Fuze, a madman, maybe both, and that's absolutely why he's the next free unit. Now all of AK can get to experience griefing themselves with Fuze RNG. Fuck yeah.

That can vary from not getting injured to bringing him coffee to helping him clean up or finish paperwork
Kapkan
Pretty cold and distant, however if you do manage to get close enough, he'll turn into an older brother haha. I wouldn't be surprised if he liked poetry, he strikes me as a person who finds emotion-lead literature intriguing and relaxing. Should you pick up on learning Russian and asking for help, he's a bit surprised as of why would you do this, but agrees. (you can't have too many skills hehe) Will test you at random times to keep your skills sharp as well
Glaz
As for Glaz, if you happen to be an artist you two would spend so much time painting/drawing random things for fun, observing what styles and techniques the other uses. (as an artist myself, I'm really curious about Glaz's paintings) And if you're not an artist but interested in art he'll gladly teach you :D

You picked some boys I think would be very loyal so here we go! Mentions of if the relationship was going bad!
Kapkan already isn’t a big fan of being near loads of people. He prefers solitude, so he’s got his eyes peeled. As soon as they even step within his bubble he’s got his eyes boring into them. The only way they would be able to get on a good footing with Maxim is if they brought up something he’s interested in. A good option would be people watching. Crack a joke about how people behave and how it’s fun to watch and he’ll give a small nod, open to listening to them from there on. As soon as they start making moves though, he notices. He would most likely not fold. He wouldn’t be broken up about it if he did it in a bad relationship, but he just believes it’s wrong to cheat and would avoid it. Maxim would prefer to call things off if he felt he wanted someone else. He’s also kind of offended they didn’t back off when he said he had an s/o. It says a lot about what kind of person they are.
Glaz is kind of a magnet to people, even if they don’t realize it themselves. Hes got a certain view of the world people wish they could see through. The person hitting on him probably engaged in a one on one with him to be able to see that side of him. Timur can be kind of a flirt without noticing it, so he may have played around a bit but if they get too comfortable, he quickly draws the line. Timur is one I can confidently say would never cheat. He wouldn’t be able to live with himself even if things were bad and he cheated. He’s a freak but not like that.
Fuze is not a talker at all. I don’t really know how the person would have been able to feel comfortable enough with him to be so bold, like please. And he basically rejects them and they continue??? Yeah he’s making it clear he’s uncomfortable and wants too get away. Probably going to try and contact you in some way. If you’re at the event, he’s going up to you and staying for the rest of the night by your side. But, if things are really bad in your relationship, I can see Shuhrat folding a bit. Already, relationships aren’t his thing, so if the love he felt before that was strong enough to make him want to be with you was gone, he would fold sadly. There would be no feelings for the seducer either though, just pent up emotions he needs out.
Tachanka. Nope sorry. This man would never fold. He’s hot, I can understand why they would want him, but if they knew him they would know he’s hopelessly devoted to the person he’s with. With his partner he’s their #1 protector and would never betray them. If the relationship is going bad, Alexsandr would still do everything he could to make it work. You would probably have to be the one to call it off. He’s pretty annoyed with the person hitting on him and would start doing something like talking about how he loves to fuck you to make them get it through their thick skull.

♡ Relationship wise…I’d like to think this is where his anxiety acts up the most
♡ König is definitely terrified of getting his heart broken, not wanting to have more pain inflicted on him
♡ And if his partner seems promising, I feel he’s very, very possessive and protective of them
♡ Defo the kinda guy to pull them close, glare at the person even thinking about coming near his partner, and kissing them.

Tachanka:
Alexsandr’s house had long been empty since the last family moved out. He was bored, and when you moved in he immediately started causing chaos as soon as he heard the door open. Floating casually downstairs to see his new victims, he stopped and swore if he had a heartbeat it would be racing. You were so fucking hot.
That doesn’t mean he’s still not going to torment you. Especially in a way that would definitely grab your attention. Your first night in the house he opened your underwear drawer while you were almost asleep and flung out all of its contents, then slammed it shut. You were scared shitlessfor a while. Then he appeared behind you in the mirror while you were brushing your teeth.
Truthfully you should’ve questioned your morals and taste when you immediately thought “why this ghost kinda…” but you never did. In fact, you bought an ouija board the next day and set up a mirror in your room to try and see him more often.
The fact you went out of your way to try and make contact warms Alexsandr’s non-existent heart. He can’t help but fall for you even though it’s going to be a (hopefully) long time before you can actually be with him.
Kapkan:
Making his usual rounds of stalking the perimeter of his forest, he comes across a Wild Hot Person. Maxim half-expected another annoying family setting up camp and their screaming kids to be scaring off his wildlife but Maxim is pleasantly surprised to see you’re alone and respecting of the silence.
He watches you. It’s a bit creepy and you can definitely feel you’re not alone if the dead-silence is anything to go by, but you’re still not deterred. You’re not about to let a little eerie quiet ruin your camping trip. Maxim creeps closer and closer as the days go on and eventually you catch a glimpse of him at the tree line. Making eye contact with his death-paled blue eyes you startle a little but was distracted by how oddly beautiful he was.
After the incident, you kept coming back to the woods to find the mysterious figure again. Maxim decided to show himself. He wanted to make contact for the first time, and lead you to the old cabin his ritual was tucked away in. It was a little gross and took a few tries, but eventually your hard work payed off; Maxim in all his deathly pale glory was in front of you in the flesh (sort of). One of his cold and dirty hands grabbed your warm one curiously. You kept returning after that.
Glaz:
Timur’s usual method of finding people to fuck is searching for energy of those who need to get laid. You needed to get laid, desperately, dare he say. His sinfully sexy self had waltzed into your dream and did a double-take. Unholy shit you were hot.
He became a regular intruder and a very welcome guest in your nightly activities. And then he started hanging around your house. You found the demon was great company when he wasn’t fucking you cross-eyed, though that was a bonus too.
He may be a sex demon, but he’s still a romantic. Timur showed up as usual one night perched on your dresser, legs crossed and tail flicking lazily. He handed you a paper and simply told you he wanted to see more of you outside of the dream realm before disappearing into a dramatic plume of smoke. When you woke up the next morning the ritual paper was still there.
Fuze:
You become his number one daydream material. He knows it’s unrealistic from the start to like a human when he’s a fucking ghost but it doesn’t mean he can’t have a little fun with his imagination.
As he’s done with previous homeowners, he plays with your fire. Candle wax will melt onto tabletops in the shape of a heart and if you’re lucky he’ll let you grab a glimpse of him. But it won’t go any further than that; he only hopes that once your time comes that you’ll meet again.

Gosh how I miss these two 🥺 HELL yeah. Here are a couple nsfw headcanons for Kapkan/Glaz. I have a shitton of AUs with them so I'll just compile the "default" nsfw headcanons I have around their dynamic.
* these are all headcanons, not opinions, they're just my own/preferred views of them and their dynamic, and I don't want anyone to think I'm pretending to be one to be "right" about them
Glaz is pretty much the enabler of the two. He has more experience, LOVES to experiment, he's more open and more aware of his kinks so he's usually the one nudging Kap like hey.... we could try this... :)c
It's rarer but sometimes it's Kapkan who says the wildest, nastiest shit imaginable and Glaz is like on all fours in .4 sec it gets him going like NOTHING else does.
Most of the time it's pretty vanilla between them though they like a little bit of playful roughhousing. glaz IS a power bottom and very much likes to relinquish control.
Kapkan is a hard top that for the most part still deals with the years he spent repressed. (I cannot stress this enough this is just my preferred dynamic and view of them since 2019). This fic is absolutely major in the way I envision this relationship between Maxim and his own sexuality.

Boy, he's white.
The first thing you need to do when you get there- even ideally before- is put sunscreen on him
Because he's not going to do it himself and he will become a red little tomato in 5 minutes max, he burns incredibly quickly
For someone whos normally so quick and stable on his feet, Timur fails a bit in the sand dunes and will fall down them. It’s pretty funny, you can laugh don’t worry he lets out a little grumble but laughs with you dusting the sand off himself
If you’re there with a group he's down to play any game- volleyball, cricket, you name it he's there
But he's not going to be on your side, no he wants to win against you and gets rather competitive but not in a mean way but a fun not serious way
Get ready to go up on Alexsandr’s shoulders because you are going to so be wrestling against Timur in the water where the water is less rough
No one really wins, the pair of you end up grabbing onto each other and forcing everyone down underwater, good job.
Things are a little bit different when it's just the pair of you.
Beach quickie 👀
Timur is very much the type to hold your hand and just walk down the beach when it's too cold to go in the water- the setting sun in the background
The pair of you will find your way to a wharf and dangle your legs over the edge watching the sun finally go, his arm around your while your head is on his shoulder
If you happen to fall asleep to the sound of the waves he's gonna pick you up and take you back to the car, only waking up when he puts you down, a towel wrapped around your body while a loving expression is spread across his face.
Two days later and Timur is still finding sand everywhere even after multiple showers, even your shared bed has sand in it and he's going to bitch and moan about it for ages. (But he totally loved hanging out with you on the beach. Totally worth it.)

This one is actually in reference to something I outlined in 2023 but didn't have the time to draft and finish, but I thought it'd be fun to do an Extraction AU what was sort of a mix of shippy and leaning into the existential somewhat eldritch horror. The idea is that they figure out a way to access the Chimera 'neural system' for direct communication, and the ten nights that are detailed each focus on one of ten pairs aboard the Pioneer. How each pair is bracing for what might come when they actually manage to bridge the gap of understanding. For all pairs, there's the question of wha tthe Praetorians really are, and - for one pair in particular - the very personal risk that comes with the experiment.
The pairs highlighted are AshMira, KapGlaz, Thermcher, DocMonty, VigilEcho, SmokeMaestro, CavTwitch, FinkaYing, BanditJaeger, and [ definitely unsurprisingly ] FuseMute. A lot of the focus is on the trauma suffered by REACT operators and how that's handled in their personal lives, along with the heavy question of "when does an operator give up too much", but there's also some theoretical xenobiology going on and some haphazardly tossed together sci-fi fun.

It looks like this particular WIP was an exploration of Team Rainbow operators in romantic relationships being interviewed by Harry for the sake of 'team solidarity'. A way for him to assess whether or not it would interfere with their field work while also getting a glimpse into their more domestic lives and who they are independently. I should get back to this, actually - I think it's something I'd enjoy writing now that I have a clearer grasp of how I write our beloved operators.
I seem to have planned a lot for it, but the only drafted part appears to be KapGlaz, so in exchange for my wordy summaries, have a [very unedited] snippet under the cut!
Mornings were Timur’s favorite.
Maxim had gotten up nearly an hour before him as he always did on their days off, and the hunter had taken Annika for her daily morning run. By the time Timur would get out of bed, Maxim would have already made breakfast, most importantly, begun making coffee. Which, of course, was the stage the sniper had reached; the break of dawn had banished any chance of staying in bed with sunlight that streamed through the window, so he had reluctantly climbed out of bed.
He paused long enough to steal one of Maxim’s coats from the chair in the corner of the room and tug it on over his undershirt. Timur claimed that his sentimental nature was limited to memories and a near-perfect visual memory, but the smell that clung to the collar of each coat his lover wore on a regular was one he could never get enough of. It was somewhere between fresh rain and well-loved leather, and Maxim continued to deny such a thing followed him.
As expected, his partner was halfway through the morning coffee ritual, with Annika curled up at his feet; she was a lovely Brittany hound, though her age meant she did not get to hunt with Maxim as much as she once did. Maxim himself had stripped himself of the sweat-stained tank top he always wore for a morning run and, much to Timur’s delight, was shirtless and on full display; his tattoos suited him, dark ink against pale skin, thin and elegant lettering mixed into delicate line work, though Glaz wished he could replace the tattoos left behind from Maxim's undercover stint. He wore black sweatpants to keep whatever modesty they pretended to have in their own home, and the sniper could see that the man wore the Rainbow-issued watch on his left wrist, just as Timur did.
Timur leaned down to pet the old hound's head and give her an affectionate rub of the ears before he stood and placed a hand on his partner’s shoulder, which only made the hunter hum quietly as he turned to look at the sniper. Bright eyes caught the light, the softness in them undeniable and as smitten as the day they had met. Maxim pressed a kiss to Timur’s cheek that was admittedly more smile than anything else before he pressed a proper kiss to his partner’s lips.

7. if asked to list a few fun facts about themself, what would they say?
I think he would panic.... wouldn't know what to say or why he was being asked and so he'd do a full minute and a half of 1000 yard autism glaring at the asker and then blurt out something intensely mean in the hopes that they leave without an answer. but then I think he'd immediately recognize that that wasn't the thing to do and would turn and run off on his own. full speed in the other direction. he's gone. wow he's so fast. are you impressed?
16. How honest are they? To others and to themself?
I think Bourbon is pretty honest overall... at least to allies. enemies, he can lie to with ease. but he's not the type to hide things from himself or friends. he's upfront, even when a lie might be easier or safer. just for example, during SotO when Auruim is sick and dying, taking care of his medical needs is difficult because Auruim has a lot of medical trauma and fear wound up in that type of care. so there were a lot of times where it Would have been a lot easier to lie to him about his care, but Bourbon doesn't feel right misleading people he loves. + overall I think he's really used to having Glaz's voice nearby and in his head and there's never been a way to hide things from him, so he's used to not being able to lie without getting called on it at all. the truth teller...

Unsurprisingly, I'm working on a glazkan fic now lmao (the mirash one with the spanish dialogues is in the hands of god and my beta now).
The way Kapkan’s accent got thicker, even in their mother tongue, when he was drunk should not have been cute to Glaz. But coupled with the way he seemed to have trouble with some words, it was sort of adorable. Laughing would be a bad move, he didn’t want the hunter to think he was making fun of this conversation. Not when his partner usually was already so prickly about so many things on a good day. So Glaz blurted out the first idea that came to his mind.
“I’d love to see you in a dress or skirt.”
After a bit of silence, Kapkan sat up to look at him, a frown on his face. “You want me to dress like a woman?”
"It's not about making you look like a woman," Glaz assured him, but Kapkan still looked doubtful. "It's just… The contrast of a warrior like you wearing something more dainty, like a skirt or lingerie, it's a very appealing contrast."
"Of course you'd have an artsy kink," Kapkan rolled his eyes, chuckling.
"Well, it's also about your thighs being partially exposed," Glaz admitted, and the hunter tackled him down, sliding his leg over his.
"You like my thighs, hmm?" Kapkan purred, trying to pull him closer. Glaz angled himself away, trying to conceal the growing tent in his trousers. "Would you like them around your waist while you fuck me?"

9: What does your OC’s bedroom look like? His/her living area?
Liz - Since she does have a roommate she tries to keep her side as clean as possible, but that fails pretty quickly. So her side of the room is kind of a disaster.
Skylar - She also has a roommate and is pretty good at keeping things clean and organized on her side of the room.
13: How many siblings does your OC and what is his/her relationship with them?
Liz - She has two older brothers', Logan and Hesh. She gets along with Logan very well, he was/is the only one that's really there for her. As for Hesh, she doesn't get along with him at all. Which is kind of bittersweet bc they were pretty close when they were younger, then things changed between them.
Skylar - She has two older sisters', Chloe and Valary. She has a very close relationship with both of them, especially Chloe. Chloe has always been that cooler older sister to her and she's just fun to be around. There was a slight hiccup in her relationship with Val when she joined the Marine and when she started dating Tachanka. But things went back to normal after a while.
28: How did your OC and his/her soulmate meet?
Both of them met their soulmate at work, as cliche as it is 😅.
Liz - She met Simon when Soap was showing her around the base and finally took her to the room where she was rooming with him.
Skylar - She met Tachanka when she first joined Rainbow. It was a very simple meet and greet between her and some of the older operators there and of course her CTU.
38: How does your OC react to and handle stress?
Liz - At first she'll probably snap at people, even for the simplest things. If things get too bad for her she'll just go to the shooting range or spar with someone. Anything to get it out of her system (if she can).
Skylar - She'll just put on some music and space out. If that doesn't help then she'll talk with Tachanka about it. In other times she might paint with Glaz and just talk with him.

Kapkan
- Okay right off the bat, when you call him and he hears the loud music and choir of wasted people through the phone, hes concerned.
- Not the biggest fan of clubbing and is all too aware of the dangers that come with someone going out to a place like that.
- And now that someone is you. Immediately Maxim’s driving, asking if you know where you are. His voice is tougher than usual, yet he stays calm.
- He’s trying to stay level headed, his hands gripping the steering wheel so hard, if he pulled back it would probably rip off.
- Thankfully, it doesn’t take him long to figure out where you are. He’s good at putting things together and finding his way around.
- If anyone is talking to you or even standing too close for his liking, he’s glaring and snapping at them to go fuck around somewhere else. He can’t tell who did it, but he guesses they’re close by enough to watch you. It makes his blood boil.
- He’ll have to remind himself that getting you home safely is his priority here.
- If you start to feel woozy at all, Maxim will sweep you right off your feet, carrying you to his vehicle. You’ll be gently plopped into the passenger side.
- And without him even asking where you wanted to stay, you’re at his house. He just doesn’t feel right having you anywhere else but with him where he knows it’s safe.
- He’s surprisingly gentle with everything towards you. Asking before he even helps you up and where you’d like to lay down for the night, what temperature you like you’re water, everything’s so careful.
Glaz
- Probably the most caught off with something like this.
- Timur always answers your phone calls when he can, enjoying all the time he has to be in some form on contact with you.
- So when you tell him you think you’ve been drugged, his whole demeanor changes in seconds. He’s asking for your exact location and if you’re able to find any security guards or bouncers.
- Sometimes, being surrounded by constant danger in your life comes in handy when you have to keep your cool.
- He’ll go up to the club doors, see whoever’s working there, and inform them his friend told him that they might have been drugged here.
- They let him in and have a few workers keep their eyes out for you based on what he’s told them. Of course, the sniper finds you before anyone else could.
- Worst case scenario has been avoided since he’s found you. He’s quick to grab you into his arms and ask you if you’re okay. Timur’s trying to scan you for any signs of cognitive dissonance or obvious drugging but it’s hard to do with the flashing lights of the club.
- He informs club workers that he’s found you but he’s short with them and says he wants them to keep an eye out for their guests a little more.
- They should be thankful he’s good at keeping his cool.
Fuze
- So sorry but the first call you give him he might not even respond. This man is not on his phone nearly enough to properly engage in conversations through it.
- And if you were anyone else, he definitely wouldn’t have even picked up lol. But you’re you and he’s soft for you so you’ve got a 80% chance!
- If he didn’t answer he’s at least going to text you. A simple what’s up suffices him.
- Lets say in this instance he does pick up. When Shuhrat hears all the muffled commotion and doesn’t bother with formalities, he just asks where you are.
- Stumbling around your words with long breaths he figures somethings wrong. And the fact that it’s pitch black outside and you’re calling.
- Hearing you kinda panic as you inform him you just wanted a fun night at the club but think you might have been drugged, sets him into a little panic.
- Drugged? By who? Where are you? Are you safe?
- He’s got a million questions he’s almost glued against the his phone. Being so focused on what you’re saying, he doesn’t get up until you ask him if he could come get you.
- Shuhrat agrees and tells you to get somewhere you can be safe. Even if the bathroom of the club’s the only option. He’d rather have to waltz into the ladies room than have anything happen to you.
Tachanka
- Unlike Fuze, he’s a great pick for calling when you need help, even if you’re just a friend.
- He’s also your biggest defender. About literally anything. He always has you back.
- When hearing you say you think you’ve been drugged, he’s already racing down to where you are.
- Alexsandr doesn’t go out partying as much as he used too, but he keeps up with almost everyone and everything. He definitely knows where to go.
- He’s a tall and swole guy. With a presence that can always make someone feel smaller and weaker if he so wishes. So pushing through everyone to get to you is no problem, he doesn’t flinch at anything anyone says or does.
- His method of keeping his anger under control is far more silence than usual. Alex typically isn’t an angry guy, but when he does get angry, it’s chilling.
- If anyone tried to interrupt you two or get too close, he might throw fists before he can think. He knows someone here did it and he’s pissed.
- Nevertheless, he gets you out of their safe and sound. He’ll get or do anything you need right now, only just coming down from the worry of you being hurt.

Fuze and Glaz Headcanons
Glaz
☆ Though he may be a bit reserved when he’s in large groups of people, Timur is best when spoken to one on one
☆ If he was able to, he could just go on with things he loves to draw or paint
☆ His most favorite thing to paint is landscapes, because as a both and artist and a sniper, noticing gives them more appreciation than they deserve
☆ Sketching people and birds, when it comes to traditional pencil and paper, are his absolute favorite
☆ Timur believes that appreciating the many expressions and emotions of the human race are something worth remembering, as those are what keep people close knitted and aware about how someone is feeling
☆ Which is why whenever he gets the chance with your permission, Timur will sketch you a lot
☆ And birds? Honestly because he just thinks they’re cute and fascinating
☆ The way birds come in many different colors, shapes, and sizes make it fun to experiment with color theory by putting these birds in different backgrounds
☆ With being a sniper, Timur is aware that one day his days could come to an end when out on a mission
☆ So what does he do to cope with these kinds of thoughts and emotions? Gallows humor

♡ Quiet, mysterious, and sometimes brooding, Shuhrat does his best to steer clear from most communication with the people around him
♡ But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care for the people within his very small intimate circle
♡ Shuhrat believes that sometimes there’s no need for communication when letting people know how much one person can care for another, and it’s not just due to his reserved personality
♡ He cherishes his time alone a lot, but doesn’t mind when you come with him and give him some comfort he might need
