Color whell Challenger - Soul Calibur VI

This is a challenge I did in watercolors with the girls from Soul Calibur 6, which is exclusive to my Twitter account that I made at the end of August, (Link below at the end of the description)

Although this challenge is done in digital drawing, my digital art leaves a lot to be desired and I am better painted in watercolors, because of that I painted each character with the most prominent color in them in SC6.

violas line files are not organized in any meaningful way but hildes line files are just like zwei's, where they label where they were supposed to be used. hilde has a handful of unused lines that sound like they were meant to be a part of the soulcalibur v storymode, including this one which feels like it pairs really well with one of violas unused lines.

i want to know what "secret" they are talking about, but this also makes me wonder what viola and hildes relationship is like. since hilde and viola are both members of schwarzwind, i like the idea that viola slowly opens up to hilde and that the two of them have a meaningful relationship. i feel like hilde is someone who could provide viola with a lot of guidance, and i also feel like hilde is someone who would be very compassionate and understanding of what viola goes through everyday. i just think it would be so nice if viola and hilde had almost like a sisterly bond. the overall idea of viola having a found family in schwarzwind makes me so happy

Hilde from Soul Calibur IV- VI

She is one of my fav characters in the series, because of her lance and short sword combo being fun to use.

I also like that tends to wear armor and that is pretty cool, also she has that majestic red flowing hair that adds onto her.

Do you have any cool ideas for unique spears and halberds? 👀

yeah a few! one was a halberd that has a second blade on the back instead of the usual hook, with tweaked animations that quickly hit twice per attack (like, swing -> immediately swing back to hit with the other blade). there's also the paired halberd and shortsword i wanna include as an homage to Hilde from Soul Calibur, where the offhand sword is used inbetween the slower (because it's one-handed) halberd swings. and a Trash Halberd that's cobbled together from other broken weapons

spears are a little harder to make interesting though, although I've been entertaining the idea of a collapsible broad spear\partizan that's normally around longsword length but can extend for longer thrusting attacks. and of course, twinspears with a head at both ends

Finally made Hilde in Soul Calibur 6.

Ivy’s fighting style works perfectly, because Hilde’s actual weapon is in fact a whip sword, with gravity dust to make the pieces detach and return to her.

A panel from the tutorial comic (Exciting! Calibur Dojo) in Soul Calibur III’s Japanese manual, showing Sophitia with her sleeping children. Wait a sec, who’s the third kid? I figured Pyrrha and Patroklos were more or less blank slates at the time, but this sure is different. In Tira’s endings, you’ll only see two anyway. It seems that this discrepancy is on the artist.

I’m not sure which kid is supposed to be which.

If the title of this comic sounds familiar, there’s a translation of the one from SC4′s manual, featuring Cassandra teaching Hilde the gameplay, floating around the net. I may as well note that in this one, Cassandra plays the role of the newcomer with Sophitia being the veteran player. Maybe I’ll give this one a shot.
