Highschool Meshi - the beginning - part 2 (final)
And it’s a wrap.
I thought about them cooking bugs, bc that would probably be the real life equivalent of grossness to eating monster. But I couldn’t find any real reason why they would cook them.
Like for the dungeon and monsters it makes perfect sense. But schools aren’t really a environment where lots of bugs live and they don’t really have an incentive to resort to eating them. So I went with the bento idea instead. Also it’s way cuter.
Laios would make gross monster themed bentos tho. Like with evil spider motives or Godzilla, Yugioh or smth.
Marcille would either find the bentos too cute or the ones from Laios too gross to eat. But of course they taste good when she eats them.
Bevor the others joined Senshi, he would not be allowed to use the kitchen so he will sneak in sometimes to cook. (Thanks for the idea @flaralump )But he also has a camping stove and some cooking supplies in his bag. After the others join they will form a cooking club and therefore gain access to the kitchen.
Since Senshi and Chillchuck are in the same year he thinks Chillchuck must be a gifted child, bc he obviously must have skipped some years since he is still so young. lol
Another head canon is that Senshi often talks like an old men. Like he will say ye are so young ye gotta eat. And everyone is like: ???

Currently watching: The Legend of Shen Li - Thanks for putting this on my dash and compelling me to watch it, Fiachra. It's put me back in my c-drama groove after a While :D. The experience of watching and blogging as episodes drop one by one is so so fun. Absolutely thriving on it, and I hoping it keeps going this strong till the end!
23.5 Degrees - SILLY HIGHSCHOOL LESBIANS SAVE MEEEE!! It's silly and fun and touching. This too is still airing, one ep a week, and I yearn for more :')
Also just caught up to Dungeon Meshi!
Currently obsessed with: Shen Li and Xing Zhi, as individuals and together (special mention to the gay potential between Fu Rong and Mo Fang). Autism gang doing monster cuisine adventures with necromancy lesbians (Dungeon Meshi is good y'all). Figure skating; I'm hypnotised and falling down so many YouTube rabbit holes. Getting the colours just right for a liansanjiao piece im working on (inspired by @difeisheng 's post about them taking an afternoon nap <3). So on.

Hii Lito my first manga was Banana Fish ! i read it during my last highschool year and enjoyed it though it is kind of a mess at times, i really cried in the end. The aesthetic was great. The last manga I completed was Dungeon Meshi, of course I liked it ! I’ve been hearing about it for some time but it wasn’t like I expected at all !

7. I also watched Doraemon but Nobita was so cringe for me when I was little, I felt so much embarrassment at his mistakes lmao. Also both shin Chan and Doraemon are translated to almost all languages in Spain, my sis could watch it in her native language, isn't that neat? :3
8. AH!!! Yennefer from The Witcher!!! I literally wrote a 10 page essay about her at university lmaooo. So yeah I love the symbolisms and how she's always had fortitude and resolve and potential power but was not respected for her looks (and blood) so she changes to a conventionally beautiful body and NOW people feel afraid? She's always been that insanely powerful (and insane <3)
9. I'm literally going through my gallery to remember what shows I like. I love WWDITS (film and show) how could I forget. From the show, I love Nadja because she's like an exaggerated version of my beloved sister. I know it doesn't sound like a compliment but it is HAHAHA she's so alive!!
10. I had to rack my brains for this. Miku has been one of my longest blorbos since highschool. One of my fan videos has 63k views in YouTube but you'll never find it 😈 (jk it's extremely easy to find)

hello!! do you have any series, animes/mangas, movies you reccommend? i really adore your tastes in things and im curious to know where you take those impeccable tastes from!!
Doing this quickly to avoid putting every single thing I like in here for you like a crazy person, most of them will be things I ran into when I was younger and still really like- I find that those have shaped my taste a lot as I got older. There aren't that many mangas because I just wasn't in an area that was good for finding new releases + I can't remember the dumb little shoujos I read online by now. But I will say that I'm fairly picky when it comes to media in terms of having competent writing and engaging characters.
Also fair warning about some of the older shows- while I would rather be shot than watch 10 more seconds of a show with a panty shot there is nothing I can do about 2000s anime brand homophobia
Ghibli (meaningful look at the camera) just in general. Though my favorite things about Miyazaki's films come more from his social commentary and cosmologies rather than just how pretty the films are (but they are VERY pretty). Working class rights
Literally any 2000s pokemon movie I'm not kidding about this. The Lugia one IN PARTICULAR but seriously any of them I went crazy for pokemon

last movie: John Hyams's Alone (I liked it! Was pretty spooky and the characters did things that were smart for the situations they were in, going against the grain of common adduction/horror movie tropes)

i dreamed i was watching the dungeon meshi movie, but also I was like, the 3rd silent participant... & it was about Laios being autistic & having an insane rivalry with someone from his highschool... lol
but anyway we explored tons of places & ate a lot of food and at some point evil high school guy possessed Laios & realized he's actually super strong & deserves everything he gets.... & the elves had to save him & get him out of his body
also there was a customs office between the dungeon and the outside world
