I think the turning point in his head was when Matt said, hey TPK - new beginnings.

But that wasn't the clever part. He is SO GOOD at taking the tools given to him for the intended purpose of kneecapping people's hearts.

His core?? We introduced that before the fucking Red Moon beam. That was WAY back before they even met Plane Rider Rin (I believe??) One of the engineers was like oh you got this dangerous thing inside you.

And the clever move was ***EVERYONE FUCKING FORGOT ABOUT IT*** including Matt. That's how you hit people where it hurts. Always have something in the tank to blindside people with. And he held this behind his teeth with every smile. He fucking knew about this last hail mary bomb trapped in his chest. And he never said a fucking word to remind everyone - to let anyone brace themselves for this decision

And when he saw half the party go down - Orym, Ashton, with only Imogen, Fearne, Laudna, and Chet on their last legs... He knew it was time. It was time. And he blindsided everyone beautifully including the DM

Because he was a little Killer Robot. That bomb didn't kill his intended target a millenia or so ago. And instead, it becomes the prayer through which he saves his family.

He has become life, bringer of change.

I bet he would love baking so much, and he takes it so seriously when you tell him the best kind of treats are the ones made with love! I actually have a plot bunny about teaching P how to bake and cook floating around in my notes that I’m excited to get some time to work on.

Okay okay!

The growl of a stomach and the pang of hunger had initially concerned P, who tugged on your sleeve urgently. As you turned to face him his stomach rumbled again, you laughed at his mounting concern and explained that it sounded like he was hungry.

“You know, like how when I wake up I always have something to eat? Like that.” You soothed, the worry lines in his brow settling.

This was something normal, something human.

He was now very excited about the prospect of a new human thing he’d be able to try, and eating was something he’d been longing to do, watching you eat tended to be awkward and everything you made looked so appetising.

“I think I have something in the pantry you’ll really like.” You beamed, dragging him into the hotel’s kitchen.

You swung open the pantry doors and rummaged a bit, P looked over your shoulder curiously. The pantry wasn’t filled to the brim but what was in there he wasn’t familiar with at all, tins, cartons and baskets full of food and ingredients he didn’t know the name of.

“Ah hah!” You cheered, pulling a white, metal box from the pantry. “I promise you’ll love these!”

You popped off the lid and inside where multiple yellow discs with brown pieces scattered throughout them, he tilted his head and you waved the box in front of him,

“Try one! They’re homemade.” You coaxed, not that he would take much convincing when it came to you.

“Home… made?” He took a disc, the paper surrounding them crinkling, you also took one for yourself before placing the box on the countertop beside you.

“It means it was made in the home, I made these ones myself. Some people believe the best kind of food is made with love, which you get plenty of in homemade cooking!” You explained, his eyes widened owlishly, throughly impressed once again by your abilities and your knowledge. You’d said before that they weren’t exactly difficult skills to pick up but he didn’t know how to make a… wait what is this thing?

“What… is it?” He questioned, turning the disc over in his hands.

“It’s a chocolate chip cookie.” It was solid in his hand but the surface had a bounce to it, he brought it up to his mouth and was even more eager to try it now that he could smell it.

You watched his reaction closely as he bit into the treat, any hesitance was quickly replaced with pure joy as he rushed to finish the rest of the cookie.

“You like it?” You asked, and you got an enthusiastic nod in response, a giggle bubbling up from P’s throat boyishly. “Would you like another?”

“Yes!” He beamed, you held the box back out to him and he took another cookie for himself but stopped short when he noticed that you hadn’t done the same.

He frowned, looked at the cookie and then back at you before splitting the treat down the middle and offering one half to you. “Love should… be shared.”

You couldn’t agree more.

for zero dollars i am going to talk about the boys’ individual singing talents now because im stuck on their performances at prom night ok here we go

to start, let me clarify by saying that i myself am a singer. i come from a family (multiple generations) of singers and musicians. my mom taught voice, violin, piano, and guitar in my home growing up. it’s just ingrained in my dna, ok, but this aint about me. just know that I know what im talking about as i get into this

im really only gonna touch on the four main singers (fourth, gem, ford, and satang) but all of them have their own unique qualities and im super impressed by their live performances. singing live is HARD. singing while dancing??? HARDER. and they held up for four hours, two nights in a row. i don’t. i cant - WOW ok

so of the main four, satang, ford, and fourth lean tenor, and gemini has a bass voice (more later). let me start with satang.

THIS BOY SINGS. RIGHT. IN. HIS CRACKING RANGE. HALF THE TIME. listen, okay, there is a difference between singing in full voice and switching to falsetto sometimes than singing in your cracking range. satang has to switch between full voice and falsetto almost every other note. that is HARD. it takes serious work and practice, and slip-ups are near impossible to avoid. he also has a soft voice, and in his case, when in this cracking range he does his best when he sings low and quiet, and is more likely to crack or slide the louder he gets (fourth is exactly the opposite of this and it makes me nuts in a good way. more later). satang also has very good vibrato, and the way he uses it helps him keep control of his voice and can even disguise the cracks and slides he does have. all this being said, you have to seriously appreciate the work he has done to sing so well at the concert. please watch his part in “healing” and go insane with me. when satang is in his full voice range he does his best singing loud, but this is what i wanted to focus on bc i am so proud of him because of how tough it is.

ford also has a soft voice, but his control comes when he sings loudly. lower pitches are more difficult for him because he has to sing softer in order to hit them, and sometimes, when singing live, that means he can get too quiet to hear. but when he’s in his range and singing full voice? ohhhh my god he kills it. he rarely misses a note. just watch his performance of “come closer”, that’s all you need to know. his vibrato isn’t as good as satang’s but he has a good ear and that makes him so fucking good at harmonizing!! ford also has a very strong and clear tone when singing in falsetto (this line in “stand” showcases it perfectly) - whereas gemini’s falsetto is softer (but just as strong).

GEMINI. first of all, this guy has so much control over his voice it actually pisses me off. i hate him (i LOVE him and im DELIGHTED by the way this live show was able to give his voice the spotlight it deserves). okay so earlier i said gemini has a bass voice, and that’s true - while talking. he has a stellar tenor singing voice, and his voice is very soft, but very clear and strong on those lower notes (thank you “you’re blushing”). and because he has that low range, his falsetto actually becomes better, bc it means when he sings high notes, he is far far away from his cracking range. it's barely noticeable when he switches between full voice and falsetto. his vibrato aint the best live when it’s unpracticed, but he rarely slides (unless it’s on purpose). he can blend with anyone, he’s very good at harmonizing, and damn he just has a sweet sweet falsetto (featured here and in. basically every song he sings. note that gem sings "hook" mostly in falsetto and fourth does it in his full voice, alongside each other; linked below)

FOURTH. let me start by saying i am the most impressed by his live performance. i am now obsessed with his voice in a lot more ways than i was before. so i mentioned earlier that he’s the opposite of satang, in the sense that he is more likely to crack, slide, or miss hitting a pitch when he’s singing quietly. but he’s also the opposite to all three of them, because where satang, ford, and gemini all have soft voices, fourth’s voice has a very clear tone right off the bat. this makes his approach to singing vastly different from the others. his falsetto is good, but when fourth sings loud? HE DOES NOT MISS A SINGLE NOTE. this boy can BELT it out in his full voice, and that includes both high and low notes. oh my god it is insane. LISTEN. TO. THESE. RIGHT. NOW. OK? please drink some water boy ilysm.

the fact that fourth spent those four hours, two nights in a row, singing in mainly his full voice, and absolutely kill. ing. it. the whole time is THE most impressive thing to me. do you know how much energy it takes to sing in your full voice for a long time? can you imagine how much MORE energy it must take to do that WHILE DANCING? do you know how much control over his breaths he has to have for that??!?!?! AND TO STILL SOUND THAT STRONG AT THE END OF THE SECOND NIGHT. i dont care. he’s everything to me.

honestly they all are. this is getting long so im gonna wrap it up but i have never enjoyed a live performance more in my life. these boys are so talented it's insane and gmmtv is lucky to have them.

Fics I Read This Week (11/26-12/2)

Secrets and Lavender

5+1 fic. Klance established relationship, 5 times Lance is jealous of people flirting with Keith and want to punch them, and one time he actually does punch someone flirting with Keith.

Short and sweet, very good.

Audience of one

Explores the concept of Keith having more galra traits and being raised as a galra soldier. He and Lance meet after Lance is kidnapped by the galra and gets him through alive.

I really enjoyed this, the character development for Keith was just sooooo good and when there were action scenes they were super good to read.

Free to breathe

Sequel to audience of one, focuses a lot on Lances recovery after being imprisoned and how the team comes to terms with Keith being around, not super action packed.

My favorite part of this was definitely the hurt/comfort elements of Keith and Lances relationship and touches on the really important stuff when it comes to being in love with your captor and the member of an institution you’ve been fighting for the greater good. The team’s development, especially Alluras, is also a great part of this story and very well written.

Smile for the stars

ANGST ANGST ANGST

Keith and Lance get stranded on a desert planet after winning the galra war, they have to come to terms with being alone together and their feelings for each other while dealing with the hardships of survival.

Without giving to much away (Major Character Death is tagged) I loved the development of Keith and lances relationship both while there is and isn’t much conflict. The concept of grief is also handled well and even though it was devastating to read I couldnt help but find it a little beautiful.

just a gentle reminder that high or low note count does not determine whether you are a good or bad writer. i repeat: having a lot of notes or no notes at all on your writing does not make you good or bad at writing. it does not mean your work is less or more than someone else’s. separate your work from the note count, notes don’t equal talent. the beautiful paragraphs and prose you crafted and spent your time on to share with the world equals talent!!!!

Call me a sucker, but I really like the latest Paramount+ Home of Star Trek commercial

THAT SAID - the Prodigy erasure stings. To me it definitely feels like Paramount is implicitly saying it’s not a part of Star Trek anymore since it’s not on the platform

But if Threshold taught us anything, it’s that you can’t remove something from canon just because you decided you didn’t like it anymore. Prodigy is Star Trek, and it will continue being Star Trek even with a new home

charles yacht (monaco sail gp when?) and shirtless posting once again since seb followed him in insta.. (how fast would seb unfollow.. after all that 🥹)

Seb really went from teasing Charles about growing up on a yacht (Monaco stereotype) or buying one to celebrate his first win to 1. Charles actually owning a yacht/several (?) via Riva sponsorship, 2. Seb getting involved in Sail GP which..... involves boats. Pot and kettle, Sebastian Vettel 🤨

On another note, since the following/unfollowing saga has everyone in a frenzy... when he first set up the Insta (or more likely it was set up for him) he followed a handful of accounts (among them, Charles), then unfollowed everyone bringing his following count down to 0. Most recently, he was seen following Lewis, then I think clearing it again, and now he follows all the active drivers plus a few additional people (including Daniel and Kimi I believe.) So it probably doesn't mean anything, lol, as much as the "Seb sighs deeply and hits unfollow after seeing a thirst trap on his feed" thing has become a running joke in the fandom.
