#hi eddie how does it feel to have main character syndrome
Text
things from The Halloween Update that are concerning me more than i already am about Eddie:
his Frankenstein's Monster costume turning his face (and hands. ha, hands, like the hands on a-) half yellow half blue/purple like the clocks & Sally's door. that's fucking me up a little ngl
Eddie tacks "A bit of a moral conundrum-" onto his description of Frankenstein's Monster, who he's costumed as. which seems out of place with the rest of his description. he could've said "bolts" or "white streak in his hair" or another physical trait. nope. Moral Conundrum (one could also describe his costume as "two-faced"...). and the fact that he's dressed specifically as someone who was "brought back from the dead" makes me 👁️👁️. kinda reminds me of a certain set of artworks from Clown's tumblr a while back...
Eddie, despite his whole schtick being "bad memory", was the only one to accurately recognize Sally's costume as pedrolino from the Commedia dell'arte. could be a little 'inside joke', might be something else. i suspect it's something else due to his... ah... Everything.
#yk im starting to wonder if eddie's meant to have a naturally bad memory#or if something is purposefully fucking with em more than with anyone else#bc he seems to have these little moments where hes On Top Of It#kinda like moments of lucidity almost? hm....#eddie dear what have you seen? why are you Singled Out?#the wrist watch / his eyelashes matching home's (whatever the rounded things under the sills are)#his halloween costume / his memory problems / the fucking tiny secrets sprinkled all over his post office / his color being purple#hi eddie how does it feel to have main character syndrome#jesting! kinda#eddison edward eduardo edmund edgar edwin edmundo. what the hell is your deal im dying to know#wh speculation#welcome home speculation#homebogging#i wonder. i. wonder...#if eddie got Caught by whatever is out there at night#maybe he didnt know to stay in doors. maybe he realized he forgot to deliver something and thought 'better late than never'#maybe the town mailman is too important to simply Remove so he had to be dealt with a different way#or wait maybe someone saved him? wally perhaps? home? id(k?)#a worse memory so that he doesnt remember what happened?#a personal clock on him at all times so that he never loses track of the time of day?#an overactive fear-response to make sure he stays in his lane Despite him apparently enjoying scary things?#kinda sticks with the 'frankensteins monster' thing dontcha think? brought back from the dead? Stitched back together?#and the monster was an emotional sensitive character. like eddie. IDK idk im just rambling now

Fight for the Fallen: Thoroughly OK-ish
Tumblr media
I watched AEW’s third show on Saturday, and let me tell you: it was OK.
I think I’m just becoming impatient with waiting for the weekly show to start, so we can finally get a clear idea of what this company is going to look like. A string of exhibition-type shows threaded together by various YouTube series is not going to be the model; that’s every indie company on earth right now. This show did not really give any more hint about the eventual direction of AEW on TNT than either previous show, and to boot, had worse matches overall. The panic in some online quarters is unjustified; they’re still starting out, and in a much better position than any non-WWE wrestling company since the 1990s. Still, if this was my first exposure to AEW, I don’t know whether it would leave me eager for more.
The Good
* The pre-show was much better! It was short, it was mostly matches and video packages, and the cringe-inducing comedy was kept to a reasonable minimum.
* The crowd seemed really into MJF, Sammy Guevara, Shawn Spears, Joey Janela, and, especially Darby Allin in their six-man tag match (for which Jimmy Havoc was also present). Darby Allin has gotten over more in two AEW shows than he did in two years with EVOLVE. This was basically a sampler plate of what these guys are capable of, but the crowd heat really indicates they could have future stars on their hands.
* Speaking of future stars: holy cow are A Boy And His Dinosaur over. People were NUTS for Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy, ably assisted by Marko Stunt. Even if you know nothing about them, they’re an immediately compelling visual: a giant-dinosaur man, a feral jungle boy, and (as Spectacle of Excess noted) a Hobbit. I not only want to see them wrestle a bunch, I want to go on adventures with them.
* Awesome Kong seems like she’s going to be a regular member of the roster, and they teased a Kong vs. Kong feud when Aja Kong came out to stare down Awesome.
* Kenny Omega vs. CIMA was great. A state-of-the-art wrestling match from two vets who, incredibly, had not wrestled each other before.
* Excalibur continues to impress on commentary.
* Jericho’s promo was good stuff.
* The video packages are really well done. One of the problems that other would-be majors have had in competing with WWE is that they look second-rate and cheap in terms of production value. AEW does not have this problem: they are already at the WWE’s level in terms of set building, camera quality, and pretaped packages. This seems like a minor deal, but it’s important for casual fans and newbies; while you and I may crave the gritty haphazard nature of a small-town indie show headlined by someone named the Midnight Fatso, people who have not yet been totally infected by the wrestling bug are immediately put off by anything that screams “second-rate.” Making AEW look like a sports show or network reality show is a hugely important step for them.
The Bad
* There were a couple of production screw-ups that really made the show feel like amateur hour: when the broadcast began running garbled closed-captioning during the women’s tag match, and then at the end of the show when Matt Jackson was doing his post-match promo and got shut down by a music cue like it was the Oscars and someone’s award acceptance speech was running too long.
* They should put someone in charge who does not wrestle matches. They’re too self-indulgent in terms of pacing and length when it comes to their own stuff. The Hangman Page vs. Kip Sabian match felt like it lasted for hours, and the main event tag team bout took way too long. It seemed like they decided to do an old school, Southern-style match as a riposte to critics who deride them as spot monkeys, but guess what: those critics are never going to be won over. And the people who like the Young Bucks for being the Young Bucks are unlikely to fall in love with a match where one heat segment on Matt featured the Rhodes boys working over his left arm for EIGHT MINUTES. You don’t want one of your VPs/top tier stars muttering “I guess we’re short on time” into a live microphone at the end of your show because his segment is being cut short by the production truck. Trim the fat from these matches.
* The women’s tag match was kind of messy, and since we know now that Britt Baker got a concussion midway through, we know the reason for some of that. But whoever agents these matches needs to do a better job communicating with the joshi workers; Riho and Shoko were throwing popcorn punches that visibly didn’t connect, something I noticed also during the joshi match at Fyter Fest. Are they being told to work lighter because Americans aren’t used to the stiff Japanese style? Whatever the case, it made the match look clumsy.
* Ideally in a three-person commentary booth, labor is divided this way: you have a staid play-by-play announcer keeping the action moving; you have a stats monger who provides insight and context; and you have a color commentator, usually an ex-jock, who provides pop and sizzle. Right now in AEW, Excalibur fills all three roles. Jim Ross just seems lost and ornery, while Alex Marvez occasionally chimes in with factoids that sound like he’s reading them off his phone (perhaps he is).
* Is Brandi Rhodes a heel? Before her match with Allie, they showed an ESPN-style video package where she talked about impostor syndrome, about being afraid she can’t hang with the people on the roster who’ve been wrestling for long years, about her insecurities as a performer. This was very well done, and naturally built audience sympathy. She then came out for her match and brought Awesome Kong as muscle, and proceeded to wrestle in a cartoonishly heel fashion, event spitting water in Allie’s face like a member of Oedo Tai. After the match, Brandi and Kong beat Allie down until Aja came out to make the save. Now, a heel whose rulebreaking is fueled by self-doubt and insecurity is a good character, but that’s not how this came across. Just like with Cody, who’s a heel on Being the Elite and a face during live shows, the way this was handled just looked like they don’t know what to do with one of their marquee names.
* I like the openly Memphis nature of the Dark Order, but they are dead in the water with the crowd. They were also the best wrestlers in their three-way match, but again, they got almost nothing from the audience, who doesn’t get (or doesn’t like) what their gimmick is supposed to be. There needs to be a course correction on these guys, because they’re very talented, but the current gimmick is not working.
Miscellaneous
* I once went to a wedding in July in Jacksonville, and let me tell you: I understand why that crowd seemed quiet and deflated. Apparently this specific venue and design was Tony Khan’s dream, but running an outdoor show in North Florida in July, with post-sundown temperatures still at 85 degrees with mushroom-grade humidity, is perhaps not the best strategy.  A lively crowd can make an average wrestling show seem amazing, and a dead crowd can make a great wrestling show seem lackluster.
* Having spent some time in Jacksonville, I am familiar with the flamboyant personal injury attorneys Farah & Farah, and was delighted to see not only that they were sponsors of this event, but that Eddie Farah himself was seated ringside, waving a cup of beer around and hollering.

1, 10, 16, 22 FOR SALTY ASKS, BITCH! xo
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
I’m going to say it and people are going to possibly fight me but Rumbelle. As someone who specializes in family and human rights law, it’s hard for me to watch because I feel like I’m watching one of my cases, particularly cases regarding Battered Women’s Syndrome where women are put through a cycle of abuse and affection that eventually leads to them snapping and killing their partners due to the constant fear that they feel. Granted, that didn’t happen on the show and I don’t think Adam & Eddy even have a clue what BWS is but it was the cycle that got me - the manipulation, the gaslighting and sometimes even trespass against the person via false imprisonment. (And yes, false imprisonment is categorized as trespass against the person in tort.) I constantly cringed while watching them mainly because it became clear many times that Rumple just doesn’t respect Belle’s autonomy and views her more as a coveted object than a partner.
Another is honestly…Kataang. I don’t find it abusive for the record or anything. And just a PSA out there for you, you CAN dislike a ship and not find it abusive, just saying. It’s more that I felt there wasn’t much chemistry for Aang and Katara. There was a serious maturity gap between them. I felt to me that Aang was always trying to hold on to his childhood and really not face issues unless they were pressing and he felt compelled too while Katara honestly acted more like an adult, which isn’t surprising considering the fact her mother died when she was young and she and Sokka were often left on their own because of the war. Katara really faced things head on and I feel like her actions towards Aang were more maternal than anything. @justanotherwannabeclassic and I have discussed this before but it feels like Katara was just a prize for Aang for saving the world and kinda lost her autonomy as person. She just became his girlfriend when she was a master fucking waterbender and I don’t think she would have been satisfied with just being a wife and mother, not that there is anything wrong with that but she’s very much into helping people and being a revolutionary - she was the fucking Painted Lady, c’mon now.
I could write an entire essay on these two and other ships but honestly this answer is long enough as is.
I’m gonna put my other answers under the cut because I have a lot of salt
10. Most disliked arc? Why?
Alana. Seriously. If I could, I would rewrite the entire Once Upon a Time show post-season three. There’s so many things I have an issue with in regard to OUAT but if I had to chose one and this is hard, but the entire Killian killed David’s Dad/Killian’s Realm Tour 2017. That story arc was bullshit, in fact most of season six was bullshit. Season five was also bullshit but I digress. Anyway, I think the whole issue of Killian killing Robert was fucking dumb and was just drama for drama’s sake because Adam and Eddy got lazy and apparently wrote the majority of their plots high, and not the good kind of high. Like the kinda high you get when you buy cheap ass marijuana from a sketchy street vender in Switzerland kinda high. That’s the minor beef I have with this arc, the main bit is the Emma moping and thinking Killian abandoned her nonsense. Girl, we just went through THREE SEASONS of crazy ass insanity where it was confirmed MANY times that Killian wasn’t ever going to leave her, loved her and would die like five hundred times for her. The fact that she immediately thought that he left instead of, maybe I don’t know, being kidnapped or hurt is just absurd to me. It’s fucking absurd.
16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?
Oh god, where to do I fucking begin. Number one, I would have had a fucking real overarching plot for OUAT and I would have totally reworked seasons four through seven with more original spins. One of the things that attracted me to the show in the first place was how they took characters like Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood and they turned them on their heads and made them bad ass and unique. That didn’t seem to happen much post-season three. I would have changed Elsa and Anna up a bit instead of making them carbon copies of their movie selves. It would be something making Elsa morally grey and a boss ass political bitch who gives Regina a run for her money and make Anna an absolute tomboy who have no interest in being a princess but would rather be a flower child and walk around in the woods all day bare foot and incredibly strong because all she does is climb trees. I love the idea of playing Elsa off as winter and Anna as a spring. Work with that. That would have been an interesting thing.
Also, I actually did not enjoy the author arc at all. I get the idea of playing around with the characters as inverse/opposites of their true natures but I just rolled my eyes a lot. I would have done an entirely different arc, maybe looked more at realm traveling or you know actually address whether people want to return to the Enchanted Forrest. Hell, I would have maybe even done something about the town line and whether the citizens of Storybrooke wanted to explore the outside world.
Dark Swan was a wasted opportunity in my opinion and they really missed a chance to make Emma actually do some really crazy shit and you know confront some of the issues that had been buried under the rug in the past few seasons but that’s not biggest issue actually. I had more issues with the Underworld as a Greek mythology buff than I did with Dark Swan but how they did the Dark Ones thing could have been so much better. But Underworld deserves more of my beef. *sigh* That, personally to me, was a wasted arc creatively. Don’t get me wrong, I cried like a bit at the elevator scene but I feel like they should have gone more Greek myth than Disney Hades. I think I’ve said before to @katie-dub that it would have been more interesting if Hades wasn’t so much of an antagonist but more of someone who misleads them into thinking that Killian is in the worst part of the Underworld while he really isn’t, he’s either on the Asphodel Meadows and doesn’t remember her or in Elysium where he’s completely at peace and taking him back would pose more of a moral question for Emma on whether or not she should.
We can all agree that seasons six is a train wreck right? I was a little annoyed at the timelines and the issues brought up in regard to Captain Swan. It seemed like they were issues that had been addressed or should have been addressed in previous seasons. I found the whole wedding thing super rushed. I would have been content if Captain Swan had more of background role drama-wise and maybe they actually used the wedding to really build on Emma and Snow’s relationship more because it had been strongly ignored. The Black Fairy was a wasted villain and Gideon wasn’t really necessary. Let’s be real, that final battle was a massive letdown and the last time I checked a TLK doesn’t save you from normal mortal wounding. I kinda wished they played around with the Untold Stories Thing a bit more in S6. I would have totally nixed the Wish Realm and the Musical Episode even though I liked the music. I just found a lot of their plots confusing, unnecessary and tired.
Okay, I didn’t watch a lot of season seven but I do have an issue with the recycling of plots and characters. I don’t mind Jacinda or Tilly/Alice but I found the whole recycle of Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella a sign that the creative well had run dry. I wish they had work with new material and stories such as the Labyrinth, Black Cauldron, Treasure Island, Atlantis or even fucking Enchanted. They could have also worked in on some of the legends from 1,001 Arabian Nights, worked more with Greek mythology particularly the Odyssey or the Argonauts. There’s a lot of creative things they could have done and just didn’t do. You’re welcome to like season seven and the characters it introduced but it just felt more like a money grab with incredibly lazy writing.
22. Popular character you hate?
I have a feeling a lot of people might unfollow me for this one but David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor. Like I’m sure not a lot of people have noticed this but I do not reblog anything with Ten in it. I know he’s everyone’s favorite and people love him and think he’s attractive but I actually hate his treatment of Rose, Martha and Donna as well as his weird space casanova act. I actually don’t really like Ten/Rose that much mainly because Ten doesn’t seem to have the same love and denotation for her that Nine did and was totally cool with leaving her and Mickey alone in a murder robot infested space in the 51st century to chase after Madame Pompadour. I don’t think the Ninth “I could save the world but lose you” Doctor would have done the whole “does it need saying?” and would have left Rose in Pete’s World with his clone without giving her a say. I was really irked by that. He whined about how much he missed Rose for TWO. WHOLE. FUCKING. SEASONS and when she came back, he’s like “here, have my clone and fuck off.” It bothered me so much and I think a lot of Rose hate is honestly based off Ten’s melodramatic ass and how he whined about missing Rose and made Martha feel inferior. Martha Jones was a fucking boss and didn’t deserve the shit he gave her. And then, we have Donna, poor Donna who didn’t get a choice at all in her fate. He chose it for her and that will never not bother me. Rose, Martha and Donna deserved more. End of story.

Receive The Competitive Edge With These Recommendations On Parenting
When I initially wed, I didn't recognize there was a 50 percent chance that my marriage would end in divorce. Throughout our marital relationship, we had a kid and once again, I didn't recognize that there was a one in 6 chance my divorce would end up being "high dispute," which my kid would be used by a mad and vindictive ex to avenge the failure of our marriage. Throughout the years because my divorce, the mom's behavior has just magnified. Eventually, I came to learn the meaning of terms such as Adult Alienation (PA), Adult Alienation Syndrome (PAS), and Hostile Aggressive Parenting (HAP), and experienced how quickly the family court system can be manipulated by false accusations. In 1985, Dr. Richard Garner, a forensic psychiatrist, presented the concept of PAS in a short article, "Recent Trends in Divorce and Custody Lawsuits," where he defined PAS as "a disorder that develops primarily in the context of child-custody disagreements. Its main manifestation is the child's campaign of denigration against a parent, a campaign that has no validation. It results from the mix of shows (brainwashing) by the other moms and dad and the kid's own contributions to the vilification of the targeted moms and dad." A number of years later on, Ira Daniel Turkat introduced "Divorce-Related Malicious Mother Syndrome." Habits connected with both syndromes are fairly similar, incorporating hostile aggressive parenting habits in an attempt to alienate the kid from the other parent. The latter focuses on the mom's habits whereas PAS can relate to both the mother and the daddy. Presently, PA or PAS are the common terms used to define the practice of trying to alienate a child or children from a parent, regardless of gender. The American Psychological Association's (APA) main statement on PAS notes "the absence of data to support so-called parental alienation syndrome and raises concern about the term's use." The APA specifies it has "no official position on the supposed syndrome." Supporters versus PAS think it is a type of psychological kid abuse, and the APA's refusal to deal with PAS leaves "targeted moms and dads" lacking required resources to combat the problem. At the very same time, there are those who mark down the validity of PAS and believe it is utilized as an excuse by abusive parents during custody challenges to describe "the bitterness of their child or children toward them." In certain cases, that might effectively be true. In his post, "New Meaning of Adult Alienation: Exactly what is the Distinction In between Adult Alienation (PA) and Adult Alienation Syndrome (PAS)?" Dr. Douglas Darnall focuses on the behavior and defines "adult alienation (PA), rather than PAS, as any constellation of behaviors, whether mindful or unconscious, that could evoke a disruption in the relationship in between a child and the other parent." Basically, PA is teaching the kid to dislike the other parent, causing estrangement from the moms and dad. By focusing on the behavior, Dr. Darnall presents a more pragmatic technique to acceptance of PA by lawyers, therapist and household courts. The techniques or tools that parents use to alienate a kid variety from basic badmouthing the other parent in front of the kid; encouraging others to do similarly, up until the child is bombarded with unfavorable remarks on a daily basis; to reporting allegations of abuse or disregard to child protective services or household court. This habits is understood as Hostile Aggressive Parenting. One tactic that author John T. Steinbeck explains in Brainwashing Children is that some "hostile parents who remarry will have the child or children call the stepfather, 'daddy,' as a method used to devalue the biological parent." Adult Alienation Syndrome is a condition. Hostile Aggressive Parenting is the habits. Hostile aggressive parents are unable to proceed. They are stuck in the past and concentrated on avenging the failure of their marital relationship and the control they had during the marriage. They manipulate the household court and child protective services in an effort to continue control over their ex-spouse. They accept no responsibility for their actions, blame everybody, and position themselves above the child's own interest. Therapist turned family law lawyer Bill Eddy keeps in mind in his short article "Character Disorders and False Allegations in Family Court" that there is a "frequency of character conditions in high conflict divorce and custody cases in which incorrect accusations are used." The most widespread of these is Borderline Personality Disorder, followed by Conceited Character, and Anti-Social Personality Condition. This represents the lack of compassion towards the child's psychological state, and the capability to manipulate family court and child protective services so easily. Moms and dads with anti-social personality conditions will play the "victim." They are experts at controling and lying since they really think their lies to validate what they are doing. Not all children can be taught to dislike. Some have an extremely strong bond with the parent. Steinbeck also keeps in mind that in particular cases the "pushing away parent feels that the other parent has a strong, extremely practical relationship with the child or children and is crazily worried that this favorable relationship will in some way affect their relationship with the child." A child old adequate to decide with whom she or he wants to cope with may result in a turnaround of financial obligations, as the non-custodial parent is obligated to pay kid support and offer medical coverage for the kid. HAP may just be financially encouraged. Regardless of the intentions, attempting to push away a Parenting child from a parent using hostile aggressive parenting or adult alienation techniques is mental kid abuse. It is a lot easier to push away a child when the child is separated from the parent. False accusations to family court of abuse or disregard will significantly limit the relationship between the moms and dad and child and the limited time spent will be under supervision. The Requirement Divorce Decree has actually currently reduced the non-custodial parent to a visitor in the kid or children's lives by a visitation schedule of the first, third, and 5th weekends of the month. Now the parent is restricted to a "monitored" visitation schedule of 3 or four hours each month. Monitored visitation programs are simply as quickly controlled as family court, e.g., moms and dads merely have to employ at the last minute to look for rescheduling. Household court will constantly side with the allegations and the court moves really slowly. Depending upon the ability of an attorney, this duration of separation could last for months. This offers the "targeting moms and dad" additional time to teach the kid to hate the "targeted moms and dad," in addition to draining pipes the "targeted parent's" funds. An attorney once told me that "the only location people lie more than in household court is at a bar." Family court is pestered by incorrect accusations just because they are such an efficient tool to quickly sever the parent-child relationship. Family court does not prosecute versus false claims, which is why false allegations have multiplied. Allegations do not have to be particular. Some attorneys encourage clients to keep the allegations unclear so as not to opportunity including investigative companies such as child protective services, as their reports bring so much weight with the court. An allegation to household court may be as vague as "The father is a danger to the child." This suffices for the family court to purchase visitations kept or supervised, but not particular enough to include child protective services. Family court is a guilt-by-accusation system. When implicated, it is the responsibility of the accused to prove the claims false. The implicated parent will probably be court-ordered to monitored visitations with the child or kids, along with complete a mental examination and consult with mediators and parent organizers, all at personal expense. She or he also may pay for a forensic examination, likewise referred to as a Social Research study Assessment, to show the claims false. The accused parent will invest thousands, or maybe tens of thousands, of dollars proving the accusations incorrect - and in the end, find him/herself economically drained pipes and emotionally tired. An accused parent may lose a relationship with the child or children simply due to the fact that they lacked money to continue to combat. Regrettably, this also leads to a child losing a loving parent. David Levy, cofounder of the Children's Rights Counsel and author of The very best Moms and dad is Both Moms and dads, stated: "President Obama yaps about absentee dads who have to take obligation. (However) he might not recognize that there are countless moms and dads who want to be included (in their children's lives)." Battling for the "child's right to both moms and dads" is a pricey fight - both economically and emotionally. Lots of parents just lose due to the fact that they lacked loan. The option is to specify "in the finest interest of the kid" as "the kid's right to both moms and dads," and after that protect that right. Stop neglecting incorrect accusations. Not surprisingly, accusations need to be examined; nevertheless, if proven false, the moms and dad who made the false claims should be prosecuted. Order that moms and dad to finish a mental examination. Action in to safeguard the child when you hear your buddy or relative making unfavorable remarks about the kid's parent or other hostile aggressive parenting behavior. Let the kid understand that both moms and dads love him/her. Encourage those hostile parents to look for therapy to find closure and stop using the child to "get back at." One thing is specific: when a moms and dad is attempting to separate a kid from a moms and dad simply to avenge an unsuccessful marriage, the child suffers emotional pain. Due to the fact that this discomfort was induced purposely, it is psychological kid abuse. If you participate or enable hostile aggressive parenting habits in an attempt to alienate a kid from a moms and dad, you are an accomplice to mental child abuse. Stand and protect the child's right to both moms and dads.
