AU where Hermann makes Ahab get rid of her prosthetic, and it has the unintended effect of calming Ahab down significantly.

Turns out Ahab had the thing made out of whalebone, like in the book, and having that so close to her body for so long was not doing her personality any favors.

I like to imagine Hermann takes any opportunity to fuck with Gubo she can. He's not really fired but she really likes the funny scared look on his face when she says that this time he's messed up too badly and she'll be disposing of him.
