canto 5 keeps feeding me. I love me some good ambiguous dialogue where you can infer that ish is either reciprocating heath's negative feelings or admitting that she also dislikes herself. 10/10. good food. I'm so happy with how these two are being written and developed.

Literally two days passed since Canto V was live and we’re already getting bits and pieces about one of the Finger syndicates, specifically the Middle and their “family dynamic” w. Don and Meusault’s IDs. While I love how those two got those IDs only cause Meursault went to clubs before and Don’s just Don, anyone who knows Library of Ruina should see how huge of a development this is.

Remember, the Fingers are just as powerful as the Wings, with or without Singularities of their own, and the Middle were almost wiped out by one man while he was on a extremely misguided vengeance murder spree (also indirectly causing one of them to Distort into the best-worst wolf lady Tanya). And even if the Middle wasn’t exactly affected by the Library, they’re sure going to get a ton of whiplash from one the recently-hired librarians in particular.

OH BOY. SPOILERS BUT IF YOU WANT MY UNSPOILERED THOUGHTS: OH BOY :)

OK SO HOLY SMEET. I goddamn love how this whole chapter has been "so you know how Ishmael has been the most (relatively) sane party member? Yeah about that." Like, she has genuinely been terrifying to see. I love how you can see how the Pallid Whale has drained her sanity, and all this time we just haven't seen that side of her. Like the White Whale Holy Grail meme was a damn PROPHECY. The middle is also horrifying in a very fun way, and Heathcliff accidentally pissing them off is facinating to show how easy it actually it is to get on their bad side, hence the need for a book.

In other news: INDIGO ELDER!! MAN SPOTTED!!! ALSO RIM!!! The Pallid Whale itself is also terrifying to see up close. Like we saw it in 4.5 but it's new eye is such a HORROR to see so close. As for theories, next post.
