And it’s extra funny to know that his N:E dex confirms that even Omnicron himself won’t go against Ziegler and is somehow a being even older than doggo dad, yet he also gets bodied by a pair of mid-teens and their wacky group of friends after violating his very clear boundary of not bringing back the dead (but Nexolord/Metta gets a pass since he didn’t use any magic, which is somehow the only exception here lol).
As much as I feel bad for him, I either want Ziegler to get beaten to a pulp the third time around or bodies everyone else instead. It’s the least they can do in Nexomon 3, right? :)
Personally, I think Ziegler might be the funniest character in Nexomon.
Dude is just trying to do his job, man.
Nexomon 1, your protagonist breaks into hell to destroy Omnicron's soul, and fucks it up so badly that you accidentally release eight souls from his charge. Dude is understandably pissed, and considering you apparently got your ass beat and possibly died, he's unwilling to let you go, as the wardens need a charge.
But you beat him up and escape, so he has minions go around the overworld map seeking you out and trying to stop you. But you can beat all of them, and then he's kinda just. Stuck. With no one who can stop you for being like this. Great. Spectacular.
Enter Nexomon 2, where honestly his inclusion is divine. Bolzen was my least favorite of the Tyrants, and Cadium my least favorite area, so I was ready to hate that section, but I love how it all tied together. Ziegler shows up because you're ripping souls out of hell again, this time to raise your Tyrant army in opposition to Vados. A conflict he has no interest in. He warns you against meddling in his affairs, and if you agree to release the Tyrants, he's pleased that you're reasonable about this and even gives you a Golden Nexotrap! And the Hilda and Eliza show up and arcane blast him back to hell as he screams about your betrayal.
Then the Abyssals. You were just trying to free Salem from a prison situation, something that shouldn't be anywhere near Ziegler's domain. But Venefelis redirects that power to revive not just eight other Abyssal Tyrants, but hundreds of extinct Nexomon. And Ziegler's just reeling like...what? Why? What the hell is the point of this? You didn't do it on purpose, but he doesn't know that. All he knows is your power caused this. And Venefelis, hilariously, insists that it is just you messing with him, so he's completely done and decides to stop you by force as needed. And you beat him up and he has to leave anyway. So he tracks you down around the overworld again, but he counts as a Nexomon so you can just trap him and now he has to be your friend for a while.
Dude just wants his job to go smoothly, and is being so rational about this. And you will not let him just have a normal day.

I don't think you've made a post just about Deena or talking about what you think about her in N:E, but I think I can tell the general impression, so:
Deena in N:E?
And you're unfortunately right about that, I've been pretty caught up talking about the game in general to notice. Whoops 😅 Still, I have a lot to say, so buckle up it's going to be a long one!
Granted, I have played Nexomon 1 before, so I already knew the whole twist of Deena being Nara, but it still surprised me how level-headed she seemed in Extinction besides a few slip-ups (not to mention being MC's mom); whether it was to keep up appearances in the Guild or working behind the scenes to make sure her kid gets through everything in one piece without directly helping them.
To me, N:E Deena was forced to have tougher skin after everything she's been through, since she's pretty much the catalyst to Omnicron's death and the war for her dad's throne up until she decides to bring Solus into the world to fill the role as the new King of Monsters. While I'm sure it was a last ditch effort to bring back some kind of balance to the world, but also wanted to make sure her kid didn't become a repeat Omnicron; finally deciding to let Grunda/Ulrich raise her kid to be an equal to both humans and Nexomon (which was probably from learning about his Netherworld Nightmare second-hand), as well as roping her siblings into the fake Tyrant egg scheme to better transition MC into figuring out his real identity (though their reaction to that bombshell is up to debate for me).
Despite that, I like to think that she really wanted to raise MC on those ideals if not for the Drakes going crazy over their power and the Guild with their anti-Tyrant campaign, but she's also quick to have enough plans and backup plans just in case anything goes awry. Looking back in the story, there's a few attempts of her being a kind and welcoming presence in MC's life, Guild and Drakes be damned; but when everything finally calms down, Deena finally has a chance to relax and answer any questions her kid might have (though explaining everything during N1 would be tough enough). And while no one mentioned yet or had full screenshots, but she actually explains how her "time powers" work post-story after reviving her (later found in Hero's Tomb), but that's going to take a while for me to get the screenshots though :'). But from what I remember, Deena simply slows time down to be in sync with nature; so if it relates to how slow plants grow (extremely slowly) then it makes sense why everything seems to stop around her or why she's still alive post-N1 but is still weakened after everything she's been through. And bonus points about her still being hung up about the Mandrass Incident in N1 despite everything about it was only told to her second-hand by The Ghost of Nexomon Past. Then with the Abyssal storyline, Deena immediately goes into damage control and subtly urges the Guild to get rid of the Abyssals as soon as possible; but Logan (evil Cadium scientist) rebuts her with the once-in-the-lifetime opportunity to observe every Abyssal in a single place minus the 1,000 year timeline, so they made a compromise to learn as much as they can before killing them. Still, I kind of wish there was more for Deena to say about the matter since she literally was around to watch the Abyssals from beginning to end, from Venefelis killing Hilda to Kroma attempting to kill Eliza and is clearly aware of how erratic they are in personalities and goals. And with Kroma having the power to control ghosts, who wants to bet that Deena had to fight Krainnul (Ghost dragon) and Ulzar by herself? If so, I guess that's why she stayed behind just in case of a repeat incident.
But during the crusade, she eventually has the sneaking suspicion that someone with a similar lifespan to her and her siblings was the mastermind for the Abyssals' creations but can't figure out who (even after asking the PTs came up to a dead end). While I'm all for Metta being the main culprit, from Deena's pov she knows for sure that their bowling ball brother should be in the Netherworld for good as well as his main schtick was just reviving Omnicron and siblings, so the jump to creating a whole host of mutant Tyrants seemed completely out of left field. But since Venefelis appeared out of nowhere just after Omnicron's death, and the Abyssals were never told who their creator was, she probably put the theory on the wayside given the fact.
Of course, I'm all for seeing what changes in N3, but that's definitely going to be a long time coming.

While I'm hoping to get ch 1 and 2 up, that'll be a while though. Still I have some important bits that I want to explore:
-While the Nexomon series always followed the silent protag scheme, I kinda want to make Luke (N:E protag) a bit more reactive to what's going on around him besides a few plot beats that will go right past his head. I imagine he has more of a puppy-dog personality whenever he's comfortable or quirky and very protective about his friends when the going gets tough (it'll be more of a slow burn before The Realization but there will be plenty of hints sprinkled about). And even if I also consider Extinction's story as "a new legend retold through the generations", I also wanted to tone down how many people know Luke's name unless he tells it (ie. writes it down on a notebook) or Coco/Nora/Ross introduces him, nor does everyone magically knows sign language (besides Deena, Mentor/Ulrich, and Luke's friends/siblings).
-Besides Luke canonically being mute, I wanted to mix up some aspects of the default avatar and the "alternate version" that seem pretty close to what the Omnicron fam have as a human disguise, namely the contrasting stripes of hair Luke would usually cover with his goggles. And another thing would be adding the little paw rings, star-like crest, and sharper teeth from Solus just because, and it will mostly culminate into Luke believing he has “birth defects” that make him the way he is and is pretty insecure about it (which seems harsh but Ulrich and family tries their best to give him more self-confidence).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-More! Family! Fluff!
Even if Deena ran the risk of getting hounded by the Drakes if she simply breathed in Luke's direction story-wise, she will do everything in her power to be there for him emotionally and teach him the in’s and out’s of the Guild (which is a task failed successfully on her part the second Luke figures out she knows sign (an automatic friend to him)). Even if the Primordial Tyrants are mostly meant to teach Luke how to control the Tyrant of Light, they'll have their own way of showing their praise to him (positive or not); not to mentioning sprinkling in some Metta mentions/“lore” since he’s the uncle none of them want to talk about but actively seethe over since he’s one of many factors for causing this whole mess in the first place. Ulrich would definitely be the tough but caring mentor/uncle/pseudo father-figure that he was forced to be cause of Deena that unfortunately stuck to him over the years and not-so-subtly being the favorite out of all the other kids (not that he wants to admit it outright). And of course, Luke's "siblings"/friends would have a stronger bond outside of living together in the Orphanage (Coco moreso out of "jokingly" being monsters (Luke with his muteness and other "defects" and Coco being Coco), even if the Guild slowly drives them apart with the Tyrant shenanigans.
-The normal Tyrants have the same storyline (besides a few changes), but the Abyssals will have more of an air of mystery to the main story; whether they confused the Guild about their enigmatic motives, why their bones are all out of whack compared to what they really look like, or the main culprit creating these monstrosities over a millennium and never getting caught. And since Deena, Keith (aka. Ghost of Nexomon Past), and Hilda were directly involved with Venefelis/Salem; I suppose they would have some doubts if she finally changed for good as well as having some guilt about Salem staying in undead limbo since the punishment doesn't fit the crime at this point (mostly told by Deena). So out of the goodness of his heart (and the Guild coincidentally being notified of the disturbance), Luke takes the chance to break the curse and bring her back to the physical world...And then the Abyssal storyline begins.
-And finally with Byeol the mystery "Tyrant", the cheeky little cherub deserves more recognition and potential to impact the larger story. For example, if Byeol is considered a regular Tyrant, how was he created since his Primordial Tyrant (ie. Metta) was supposed to be dead and there isn’t a Renegade fighting to make him the new King of Monsters? How wasn't he targeted by the Drakes or even mentioned by the other Renegades since the Guild somewhat know about Byeol but know nothing about his motives or said Renegade? And if all that Venefelis/Salem did was stay trapped in Pinewoods for 1,000 years, how did she know about the Spencer family vaults and have a key, have a Perfect Berry despite not being able to eat as a ghost, and knowing everything about where the Abyssals were buried and Precursor Mountain? It's almost like she had some kind of accomplice to help her learn about the outside world and indirectly allow her plan her future revenge plot...
Other than that, I'll consider getting asks up if anyone’s up to anything Nexomon related. I have more than enough energy to ramble until Nexomon 3 finally starts coming out of the woodwork.

Here’s some Byeol headcanons I had in mind since the little creture has potential even if there’s just barebones info and speculations:
1. Byeol just exudes toddler energy, no doubt about it. He might be smarter than he lets on if absolutely no one in the Guild has any idea why he wasn’t following the typical Tyrant archetype or somehow evading the Greater Drakes (and if Byeol even has a Renegade in the first place), but he’s all for finding someone that interests him and following them around until they scare him off with a Nexomon battle or whatnot. Also Byeol could move around without the star he rides, he's just way too small to do anything useful (besides using his Psychic powers).
2. Besides every other Tyrant and Legendary only liking the Perfect Berry (starfruit-shaped berry) to increase capture rates, Byeol absolutely adores the thing since it’s sweet and star-shaped just like him. And yes, I fully believe he will fight anyone for it (the only exception to being a danger to any tamers), and given his skillset mostly being AoE-like there would definitely be some collateral damage from it.
3. Byeol might be found in Palmaya despite the residents claiming its Tyrant-free since it’s the only safe space that isn’t fully in the Guild’s control (though he still travels around the world), but I also like the idea that the Palmayans have Byeol as an unofficial mascot since he's friendly to those that spoil him (and obviously food-motivated). Bonus points if Byeol’s known as “The Star (of Palmaya)” by the residents to confuse any Guild tamers looking for him.
4. Byeol hates being called a Tyrant and calls anyone meanies if they say so. I mean, how would you think that adorable thing is dangerous? (⬥⭐️v⭐️⬥)
5. Before Caelesa was killed by the Guild (or Lateria), Byeol would see her as the bestest friend ever because of their similar motifs and penchant to explore the world on their own terms (give or take theory if Byeol's also an Abyssal and/or siblings). Byeol will also only call Caelesa Caeli (Latin for heaven and short version of heavenly) cause it sounds cute to him and Caelesa tolerates it as long as it's just between them.
6. Since I’m also reaching very hard with the game’s intro (if the thing talking to the MC is Byeol), but I like to think that Byeol is really bad with names and mostly defaults on appearances, personality, or whatever cool thing interests him about the person. A few exceptions are MC (knows them as Solus first and human name second (after a lot of reminders too)), Caelesa (Caeli), and Venefelis (Vene).
7. And to fix the possible plot hole, Byeol might've also met Venefelis/Salem and became good friends as well. It would make some sense since Salem seems pretty childish and playful (possibly learned from Byeol to keep herself sane and innocent-looking) before going villain mode when she gets revived, as well as the strange fact that Venefelis somehow knew where the other Abyssal graves where and travelling to Precursor Mountain despite being trapped in the forest she was sealed in the entire time...So who's to say that Byeol gave her info about the world outside Pinewoods and maybe indirectly helped her plan to revive the Abyssals both to get Kroma to complete her goal and try to figure out about their creator's grand design after 1,000 years of silence.
So that's all I have for now, so feel free to pick and choose anything from here :)

While I'm taking the painful task of making a retelling fic of Nexomon Extinction to include some kind of importance with the Abyssals and their impact with the Tamers' Guild (among other things), there's one thing I noticed that no one mentioned yet: The Abyssals' skeletons that were scattered around the world have proportions don't seem to match up to what they look like when they were still alive (minus the big boy Braccus). Of course, this would've been done on purpose design-wise to keep some kind of mystery around their real appearances and/or their threat level, but look at them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If that doesn't scream otherworldly, then what else? Well, while it isn't specifically said which skeleton belonged to which Abyssal (especially the mass grave in Lateria), two have already been identified in-game; Braccus (New Ignitia) and Kroma (Immortal Citadel), though Pluvean isn't shown since he got killed in Palmaya and was possibly fished out of the sea by Venefelis' group revival scheme.
But of course the one thing that gave me whiplash is Kroma, the terror of the Immortal Citadel, because that somehow came from this
Tumblr media
Is there even an explanation for this in the game? Or is there going to be a deeper lore dump in Nexomon 3? Still, that's gonna be a lot to unpack if their anatomy is so messed up that they just explode into a whole other pile of monster bones after their death, especially for a kid's game. Either way, if I'm going to include the gene splicing theory into the fic for the fun of it, then I'll use this as evidence >:)

Normal idea for humanized Byeol: Toddler, a little cheeky guy, possible menace to society from vague dex entry, clearly dwarfed by the giant star he rides.
My idea for humanized Byeol: Spencer but cuter; somewhat copied his hairstyle and outfit just from that old picture, looks human enough but not (star pupils, diamond dimples, giant flying metal star), is a foil to the snobby rich kid but not (goody-two-shoes, extremely high energy, doesn’t boss others around) but hates when he doesn’t get enough attention (either from some innocent Guild member or MC).

While I already hopped on the bandwagon of Metta creating Byeol (either a task failed successfully attempt to create a intimidating Tyrant or mini-me angel), I also want to put my two cents on another Normal-type Tyrant that has "little to no impact" on the story: Caelesa.
Of course, the Guild knows barely anything about her motives besides running around the continent, and after Venefelis revives her (or before her death to the Guild), is basically a dick to all humans she interacts with, mostly with the "idiot human" comment she puts after nearly every sentence. Obviously she's very annoyed about being labeled a Tyrant despite doing absolutely nothing to harm or antagonize them, but the same can also be said for Byeol; they're located in Palmaya post-game (the "safest"/Tyrant-free place in the world) and does nothing but smile and stare at people, creeping anyone out that they don't bother fighting or even describing them in better detail for any unfortunate soul that might come across him in the future (also another thing that's a bit hard to notice during encounters cause of background music, Nexomon actually have noises/cries when you first battle them or switch them out in teams. and Byeol's a little twinkle/chirp noise like a bird :).
Besides that, I also came up with the semi-plausible theory that Metta also created the Abyssal Tyrants (which is a longer rant in of itself), which eventually led to the side theory that Caelesa and Byeol might have a connection with each other as siblings or even two halves of the same goal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it's not exactly obvious appearance-wise, their names actually have some similarities to stars and a celestial existence (Byeol being Korean for star and Caelesa is Latin for heavenly/celestial respectively) and with Metta having some phonetic connection to the angel Met(t)atron and you know...everything else about his character shows him wanting to be on top of everything like a higher being as Nexolord. And to me, I like to think that Caelesa might've broken a part of the rings that connect to the one on her neck since they also stay close to the Tyrant in question (besides Braccus most likely ripping that giant crystal out of his chest for some reason), but I also find it interesting that there's none of the crystals are imbued into her body like the other Abyssals, while Byeol (maybe?) has them on his cheeks like dimples minus the telltale purple color and red eyes. -Oh yeah, and I think the chariot-thing Byeol has was one of Caelesa's rings and the wings were part of Byeol's body (similar colors) that were somehow grafted into the metal, but who knows how that would've worked out.
Though looking back into the Abyssal story too, another glaringly obvious thing about Caelesa being overshadowed by the other Abyssals is the lack of splash art when she's first introduced (as well as Volcel, but I bet he already wasn't in a mood for introductions):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the major players (except Helevolk) are the only ones that were willing to explain their reasons for living and their desires to see the one that created them besides basically leaving them to distract the Guild (ie. "the world's eyes") and die for their troubles, not to mention the their pictures exemplifying their strength, might, and elusiveness to the Guild's understanding of what a Tyrant should behave like. So maybe Caelesa didn’t get an artistic intro cause she’s not the only normal-type Abyssal to worry about…
Anywho, since the Nexomon series is always a sucker for foreshadowing and not leaving too many loose threads behind, I'm just hoping the Abyssals come back one way or another and we might learn more about the Valentine cherub reject if he sticks around just long enough to become relevant to the story.
And to also clear up some other tidbits about some other mystery Tyrants:
-Fane the Ghost Rider ghost moose(?) could be considered the manifestation of ultimate strength or the downward spiral some tamers might experience once they're on top with power and strength, being a ghastly skeleton and all (since dex says he only appears to those that prove themselves as warriors and defeat enough of their enemies).
-Tikala might not exactly be a Warden in the typical sense being in Ziegler's control, even if he also appears post post-game in Nexomon 1, I like to believe that he's Nara's "Warden" as a protector of the Hidden Village and is offhandedly implied to be Khan's apprentice (then runner-up King of Monsters in N:E). I also like the idea that Nara may have created Tikala before the story (accident or not), and since old habits never die, just pawned off her pseudo-kid to a third-party and goes about her own business.
-And while I also hate that there's no mention of it (and going off the Metta creating Abyssals theory), but I would like to believe that Venefelis is the first Psychic type post-N1 (and first Masquiti) and was possibly created by combining Nexomon traits/genes with a human (maybe a witch/psychic kid if the Salem persona isn't obvious enough when she was sealed). I mean, her name is literally "to want a cat" (Vene(trate/able)= worthy of, to respect, to desire and Felis= cat-like)) and she purrs when you battle her! Metta could have made a freak-of-nature cat as a one-off thing and it all went downhill from there!!
Okay, guys, you want me to go on about the most pointless things?
Let's go on about Byeol (and a bit about Fane, I suppose), because I am going insane
Alright everyone, for those unaware, this is Byeol:
Tumblr media
This is a tyrant in Nexomon: Extinction, his name is Byeol. The problem about this, however.
He isn't a story tyrant, and this... Makes me very interested in him.
Amelie calls Tyrants super powerful Nexomon, but here's the thing. According to Coco, Jin blocked off the entrance to Fenrir's tomb so that no more Tyrants may be hatched
Lydia also says to go bother Nadine because of the egg, and keep in mind, the grass Tyrant is Tikala. A warden. Probably because Deena didn't necessarily want to add fuel to the fire
So then we are already established that Tyrants are probably always hatched.
... So then what of Fane and especially Byeol?
(And there's no Psychic Tyrants because... Solus would be too lil to bonk an egg, and nobody would ask a random kid to do so.)
Well, let's go with the easier one, in which I ask yet again, what's up with the Ghost type? I've wanted to throw hands about it for a long time.
(Ulzar says that the reason Nexomon are, well, a thing is because of the Children of Omnicron. So it makes sense, right? 7 children, 7 elements)
Psychic is a bit trickier because of the fact Mystogen exists. And if we're going of the fact Solus made the psychic type...
Putting a pin in that, rant for another day.
So... What of Ghost?
Well. That's not the point of the post and that's my motivation for writing Doubts.
But! Moving on, Fane. Well, with the assumption they come from eggs, well frick. There's no ghost primordial.
... Which is why I can't speak much of it. We can surely just blame Hilda
... Do you know who we have more of?
Byeol.
Well. Let's see then.
Byeol is a normal type in Palmaya, first and foremost.... We are back to James everyone, anyone who's talked to me isn't surprised
Hi new people, James is how we call the Nexolord on this side of the fandom, moving on.
Assuming that James isn't dead and we take into account this from Nadine:
Tumblr media
Well, who am I to argue with Nadine? (Granted, she could mean Grunda or Deena , but.)
.. So, in today's rant. Byeol and Metta, woooo.
First of all, he is in Palmaya(and later around the Orphanage as of the Abyssals but we can put a pin in that because, Abyssals) , which, is definitely not the frozen tundra
But, Merida is in the frozen Tundra, and Atlanta's Tyrant is frosty enough to argue Merida bonked the egg there.
.. So then, Palmaya's free, ey?
Well. That's interesting, further on, I am going to need to grab Metta for a moment
Tumblr media
Hello bowling ball, I still think you should be an Armodillo.
Moving on, see this man? Until his siblings he is, unfortunately, not an animal
My only logic conclusion, looking at this man(if we don't take my other James theory into account), is that he's supposed to be a kind of biblically accurate angel, just, ribbons not wings (Thanks for the association Azzie, your hands are red too)
... HMMMM who ELSE has wings and is a normal type...
... WELL THEN.
Additionally, I must point out, Metta has 7 ribbons. If we count the bottom pointy Byeol has he has 8.
... Well, it just happens an additional type is added this time, to bump it from 7 to 8(we already went over why I think Ghost might not count)
.. So then.
And. Well, let's look at it this way. Nivalis and Arqua, they don't look the same. Fona and Mulcimer, er. The closest we have is Ventra and Eurus.
... And, well, Solus and Nara, but surely not
... Byeol could've been a kangaroo or something, but instead-
They're both inanimate object things I can't make sense of. I know Ross said that he was just inspired to make a star thing, but-
... Hm.
What am I trying to say? Nothing really. At the end of the day these are coincidences, likely
Like, n3 protag and James both have a blue hair strand, but that doesn't mean they're like, immediately necessary related kind of thing
... Just makes you think.
(Also, this stated when I made a joking like toddler Byeol human version, and I saw the white hair and went like "...wait")

Not to make it seem like an obvious question, but does anyone think that the Omnicron kids are considered half-siblings? Besides the obvious appearance-wise, it makes sense in a way for Omnicron to have a partner/mate for each element for a possible heir but he also always wants to be on top of the food chain, so after he has the kid he just...kills the mom? Eat them?? Maybe like a reverse mantis thing, but who knows...Since there's zero mention about any mother/mother-figure in their lives, I'll just leave it at that.
And even if it's a sibling thing for every one of them to be at each other's throats with insults or disagreements, none of them seem relatively close to one another if they were true-blooded siblings (besides Nara and Grunda, but they literally had a millennium of wartime to get cordial). The only thing they have in common is their opinions on humans (good or bad) and how they acclimate to their new lives outside of Omnicron or being ghosts in Extinction. Besides, if the half thing is relatively true, then it'll be an extremely sore subject for all of them that they just never bother to bring it up; it's just a fact of life that'll never change or get fixed anytime soon as long as they're the strongest of them all.
That being said, the only one that will have a problem with it (of course) would be Metta; since he's considered a true Normal type and also inherited Omnicron's ability to control all other element types (main moveset). But with him being the youngest and a cringe-fail bowling ball, if he's constantly rubbing it in the other's faces then it's a given why all his older siblings collectively hate the youngest. I mean, if he's practically written out of the narrative in N:E (or the rest of the fam refuse to mention him), then that's saying something, besides him indirectly causing everything terrible in N:E, that is.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but the out-of-pocket rule the Apierons follow about no beans actually has some historical context in Greek culture and mythos.
In a article from Atlas Obscura, it is somewhat believed in Greek culture (mostly Pythagoras and other Pythagorean’s) that favas beans were seen as a symbol of death based on its dark spots on the flowers and hollows stems as “ladders” for a human soul to climb out of the underworld, and it was even considered cannibalism to eat fava beans cause of their flesh-like color. But it’s also interesting to learn that their fear of fava can connect to a genetic disorder called favism that’s mostly present in Mediterranean areas that causes anemic-like symptoms to those that may eat favas or come into contact with its pollen.
So why does it apply to all beans in the Apierons’ eyes? Simple, English text about favas only referred to beans themselves when shipped from Greek and Egypt (until 1492 when specified by type), so they just jumped to the obvious conclusion that all beans are greater than sin and there is no exception (besides turning coffee beans into coffee, that’s on thin ice). There’s more to the article to read on your own time, but I’m glad to know that Bluepoch really did their research on Pythagoras and his wacky math cult.

Me, keeping the Micromon and Nexomon 1 fandom alive: Same 😔🤚

To anyone that's somehow still alive in the Micromon fandom, do I have some news for you. For just the simple price of $0.99 (or just looking in the wiki), the game already gives away plenty of hints about the state of Pixekai and how much of a impact Black Root plays in the story (among other things).
Major spoilers for Micromon (and slight spoilers for Nexomon 1) and enjoy the typical rants/theories below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First up, Pixekai as a whole and the Growtown Accident. While Nexomon mentions in passing that Pixekai (Project) was a digital doomsday bunker for humans should Omnicron be revived and destroy the world (mainly uploading their minds and creating digital avatars), the only people that are aware it's a digital world are Malk, Leah, Zeth, Cyborg, and that random guy Edward who gives you a side quest about player costumes (also the Legion members, but that'll be mentioned later). Besides that, everyone else the MC meet are all happy and cheerful (to an extent) and go about life just like any other person despite a vast majority being fabricated humans.
But of course, not everything was sunshine and rainbows before. While the exact date/year when Vaithe destroyed Growtown is unknown (a town known for Micromon breeding and was the original entryway for humans to be imported into the program), its impact on Pixekai led to a blockade only accessible to S-ranked tamers and even a firewall cutting off the (clearly irradiated) forest wasteland known as Ground Zero. Despite the obvious assumption that everyone in Growtown was killed from the disaster (literally half of Pixekai's population lore-wise), it is later revealed that Cyborg was one of Growtown's residents 1-2 years pre-incident; and even when she wasn't in the blast zone, her avatar and voicebox was badly damaged and was hunting down Black Root for being a possible cause (which is true, but for a completely "normal" reason). Another survivor is Lavinne ("The Punisher") who vowed to kill Vaithe for destroying Growtown (not true) and Malk for essentially creating the hostile environment that currently plagues Pixekai (rampaging Micromon, natural disasters, and making the Growtown residents destroy themselves with a power source that drains their own energy); but it's somewhat implied that he was cut off from Pixekai all that time that since he only shows up after MC repairs the bridge to Ground Zero. But while the bleak humor of Malk playing dumb about his involvement in Growtown's fallout with Leah (since they used to be scientists before and possibly worked together situating ported humans into Pixekai), looking back on his extremely thinly-veiled hints show a terrifying amount of foresight to not say too much and kept stringing the MC along about becoming a S-rank tamer and (possibly) planning ahead on silencing the two known victims that might reveal too much about the real truth.
Malk: It's such a shame Growtown got destroyed like that. While we have some rumors that Vaithe was the cause, there were no survivors to tell that harrowing tale in full. MC, later meeting Cyborg: But what abou- Also Malk, wiping out Growtown's stragglers to create a world-ending digi-nuke: -Like I said, there were no survivors...

While I'll give the game credit for fleshing out the Legion instead of making them pseudo-Elite Four, it's kinda interesting knowing that they're the beta players of Project Pixekai (ie. the first humans) and had their own dreams fulfilled in the digital world, possibly with their own input on what they wanted they couldn't be fulfilled in real life. Even their respective region might connect to their previous life in Nexomon too, though their past may be foggy depending on how long they've been in the program (or Leah tampering with their memories after their "rebellion" (re: trying to stop her from destroying Pixekai from the inside-out)), but they also mention being unable to return the real world either from their original bodies dying from the transfer or years after until the main story, or they were supposed to be erased when the project was patched out (implied/mentioned in battle gauntlet). Slider (Navia): Slider was ported into Pixekai when he was 4 (mentioned by npc at Navia arena) and has a older sister Angelica to reign him in, but he mostly spends his time goofing off or napping, likely lived in Palmaya but (obviously) lived most of his life in Pixekai. Lethar (Magma): Was suffering from health problems at a young age (maybe lived at Ignitia, mentions similar pollution problem in Magma), but was given medicine by Moonborn to heal him (also has a absent father, but it's not fully explained); was known as the rough-and-tough leader of Magma with his trusty Dinoto and Diroaster. Moonborn (Aera): The wife of Aera's chief and adoptive grandparents of the Tornado Twins Aria and Aaron (different to Captain Aaron); possibly lived in Khan's Jungle or Hidden Village due to her magic abilities, spirituality, and skills in medicine. It also might be implied in the gauntlet that her human husband might've died when she was younger so she wanted to have a family for herself in Pixekai (Also her husband giving/making a special incense the first day they met and reminding her of her younger days falling in love with him T_T). Jade (Mineralia): The daughter of head miner Lincoln and rival to lover/fiance to the headstrong goofball Aiden, also considered the strongest Legion member and is obsessed with Micromon battles and protecting the peace with brute force (might've lived in Frozen Tundra or Solus Deserst since they also specialize in mining too). While the initial age when she was ported is iffy, since Lincoln mentions her past mom naming her after the most precious jewel in their lives (and her hair being all green when younger), but she also mentions how "Our time ran out a long time ago, but we (the Legion) loved being here. We had lives here that we couldn't have back in the real world"...So I'm guessing she was in Pixekai when she was a teen/mid-teen and Lincoln was implanted with false memories about her childhood. Ouch :'(

While I initially thought the main antagonists (and Cyborg) were the only ones aware of the real world, it turns out all of Black Root knew that Pixekai isn't as it seems...To varying results, of course. While most of the grunts were either too brainwashed from diving into the Mainframe on Leah's command (or Captain Aaron knowing more as second-in-command), I kinda like the added context that they can freely teleport around because they exploit Pixekai's code (which is rarely shown from non-BR characters or Legion members) as opposed to Malk programming B002 to teleport to specific points in the world (with a fee of 300 coins one way). Also cool to know that Black Root got the name because of the root folder/root directory of Pixekai's mainframe to have nearly absolute power in the program and cause crimes on purpose. But with that revelation also gives way to Leah's motivations for escaping Pixekai: to live a free and fulfilling life outside of code and to give her son Zeth a happier life that she worked so hard to provide...After creating a rogue organization from the ground up and going crazy from evil Mainframe experiments, of course. But even her execution of the plan is still lacking, since she has no real information on why humans created Pixekai in the first place (same for Malk), and her main plan of capturing Vaithe from the Mainframe requires a pure organic human (ie. the MC) "for some reason" since they're the only one that won't get their brain fried and turn into a braindead husk.
Despite all the lore dump, it brings me back to the whole twist of Malk being self-aware since the beginning and plotting to destroy Pixekai and escape into the organic world for vengeance...Again, he and Leah had no idea that they were coded into a bunker program and have little to zero info on how much shit humanity are in right now cause of Omnicron and his kids. While there's not a specific date/time when both of them became self-aware, but Malk later learned the truth about the project in full after he escaped and adjusted to real life (see Malk's revenge rant here and here), already plotting to destroy the real world too so his vengeance will finally be complete since all humans are corrupted in his eyes.
And what better person(?) to turn to for more information about humanity's weaknesses is Metta/Nexolord; eventually becoming mentor and student to learn about the world around them (Malk learning about Nexomon and Metta w. human behavior/psychology), while also preparing a massive middle finger in the form of a world-ending doggo for giving both of them a shitty life in general.
And you know this kids game was made in 2014, right?

A lot of things for me (although most of them are canon to the game too):
-He lives in the Frozen Tundra and is surprisingly skilled in mechanical engineering (courtesy of his mentor/unofficial stepdad Malk Micromon).
-His “childhood friends” Juliet and Glacia have two drastically different views of him; Juliet thinks he’s a vampire and will gladly support his evil plans just to fangirl him, Glacia is his bonafide assistant/guard-dog that will constantly rub her success as his Overseer in everyone else’s face.
-Metta's basically the textbook example of Youngest Child Syndrome since his entire plan to become Nexolord and destroy the world is so he could be noticed by his dad and gloat about his position as the greatest tamer in the world to his older siblings/Champions.
-And while it's not explicitly mentioned why Nexolord has pointy elf ears as opposed to the other Champions (since no one bothers mentioning it and believe he's just a normal human), I like to think it's just cosmetic since he really wanted something to make him look intimidating for once in his life (And if you know what he really looks like as Metta, it's honestly fair on his part).
But I’m just hoping he comes back in Nexomon 3 one way or another, since the series has a good track record of bringing back or referencing previous key characters and tie the larger story together; but it's also good to watch/play Micromon for some hints and foreshadowing to the rest of the series too :).
Alright Nexomon fans out here, honest opinion about this guy ?

Nexolord & co. shenanigans (Nexomon 1)
It's honestly been a long time coming, though mostly for the nostalgia and hype for Nexomon 3, but I figured I would look back in the story for any context clues to Nexolord/Metta's personality and abilities mentioned from his siblings, Overseers, or anyone unlucky enough to get on his bad side. Obviously it's going to be a massive list (with some spoilers for to Micromon and Extinction), but here goes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First off, there's no real timeline on how long Metta's been Nexolord or when he started his Omnicron revival plan into action, but I'll put in a generous estimate of 2-3 years before the main story since he already put way too much fear into people's hearts to go against his authority until MC went ham on his master plan. Same goes for him commissioning MC's parents to build the resurrection machine and revive Omnicron for real.
For Overseers, I would assume that ex-Nexolord Remus originally had Hilda, Khan, and Jack until Metta took the title (and adding five more to spread out his influence). But it's also funny to assume that Metta indirectly assigned his siblings/Champions to a certain Overseer that either complement or conflict their personalities...You know, for shits and giggles. -Fenrir/Fona -> Ivan & Ira (Fiery spirit and moderately irrational) -Nadine/Ventra -> Remus (Unstoppable force vs. Immovable object) -Merida/Arqua -> Hendrick (90% charm and 10% backstabber) -Zetta/Luxa -> Spencer (Snotty rich kid with inflated ego) -Ulrich/Grunda -> Jack (Reliable leader but goes against authority to protect his people (Mostly connected to Netherworld Ulrich)) Nexolord/Metta -> Glacia (Cold-blooded tactician with an extreme ego trip) -Deena/Nara -> Khan ("Subtly" associating the family traitor as a wild savage who only cares about the world and harmony over complete authority...Harsh, even for a kids game)
Metta's childhood in the Frozen Tundra was already going to be shrouded in mystery from the get-go (and obviously exclude flashbacks in-game to avoid spoiling his identity), but he left a pretty deep impact on the three people he interacted with in the past (Glacia, Juliet, and Malk). -First, Juliet's a fangirl for him, so much so that she'll completely ignore his plan to destroy humanity if it meant getting a sliver of attention from him or one-up Glacia as Overseer. She also believes that he's a vampire (either when they were kids or into adulthood) and regularly reads cheesy YA vampire novels that she "accidentally" leaves on her kitchen table for someone to notice. -Glacia is 110% loyal to Metta and will gladly brag to anyone she meets on how she's the most "true and loyal Overseer" there is. Also, she's the only Overseer who's aware that the Champions are Omnicron's children (minus Remus figuring it out through context clues), so she somehow earned Metta's trust to learn that fact as well (though whether she knew Metta's true form too is up for debate). -Finally Malk "I taught [the Nexolord] everything I know" Micromon is either the best/worst person to be Metta's tutor (re: legit father-figure) to make him become the little tyrant he is now. Whether it's to fuel Metta's already-burning hatred for humans (being a sentient AI that destroyed Project Pixekai in revenge of the programmers who created him), teaching him useful skills to gain control over others as a leader (master manipulator, master technician, and more!), or giving Metta the emotional support he never had from his siblings or dad (headcanons galore!). Also love the little gimmick that Malk's name isn't shown to the MC since he doesn't properly introduce himself to them; only Metta calls him by name once when they're the only ones in a room or during Malk's last hurrah speech before MC fights Omnicron and disappearing for good. Also, Malk mentions meeting a younger Nexolord/Metta sometime after busting out of Pixekai and adjusting to human life, so he might've tried disguising himself long before they teamed up. Now I want to know if Metta first learned that Malk wasn't human or vice versa, but I would love to know what babey Nexolord looked like before he went anime villain mode. :)
Metta definitely was the one who gave his siblings their fake Champion names, mostly on the joke of Fona/Fenrir being Metta's guard-dog for a good chunk of the story (even accompanying him to Grunda's grave and keep a eye on Overseer Jack for the excavation). Besides that, it makes sense for Metta to have every opportunity to make a jab at his siblings and put them in their place in the current hierarchy. -Fenrir: Marsh/Fen-dweller, Norse mythos wolf that would bring disaster during Ragnarok and was bound by a chain shaped like a silk ribbon. [Similar motif to Nexomon Fenrir to have giant prison cuffs on his wrists and collar-like design on his shirt.] -Nadine: Hope (French), messenger/admonitory or showerer of blessings (Arabic), "the courage of a bear" (Russian) [Latter fits cause of her assigned Overseer being Remus and her tendency to put combat first over talking.] -Merida: Pearl (Mairead, Celtic), "one who achieved a high place of honor" (Latin), "a chaste girl" or "like a mother" (Persian) [Persian seems more ironic since Merida's nice when she gets attention but throws a major hissy fit if embarrassed or mocked.] -Zetta: Inquiry or quest (Greek ztsis), "a person that is intellectually curious and has a thirst for knowledge" [Mostly ironic since Zetta's dumb as a brick and has a love for shiny things.] -Ulrich: Noble or regal ruler, noble/rich heritage (Old German) [Grunda never had the chance to get a Champion name (until Netherworld), but it's interesting how his Nightmare makes him the ruler/guardian of Solus Desert and protects his people from the big bad Nexolord Remus...At least he got his priorities straight?] -Deena: Valley, church leader, spear ruler (Hebrew/Old English/Old German); "compromising, passive, and more likely to stay in the background rather than front and center" (myfirstname.rocks) [Even if she was a major part of Ulzar's fame, Deena keeps herself as inconspicuous as possible to ensure the MC's success too. Definitely didn't want to be caught up in the family drama again, you know? :)]
It is somewhat confirmed in the Netherworld end-story that Nexonium/Nexomite is more commonly found in the literal afterlife than in the normal world (and stupidly expensive too), and it also has the ability to incapacitate any Nexomon in its vicinity (when powered by a NexoCore) or keep a Nightmare running without a Warden to guard it. So who's to say that Metta used Nexonium to create the Nexocore, easily violating Ziegler's rule of keeping the dead dead and creating a power source that won't get traced back to him (you know, since he commissioned MC's parents to make it?). And it also shows that Metta had Nexonium stowed away in his old house, most likely studying its components in there or in the bunker.
And last but not least, it's not exactly confirmed if Metta actually sacrificed himself to revive Omnicron like the rest of Champions; he doesn't have a personal Nightmare like the other four (+Grunda/Ulrich), and you only get to find Metta's true form after the Netherworld story (ie. Killing Omnicron for real, dooming the current Nexomon species to extinction, and making a bridge between the Netherworld and real world to finish loose ends). Speaking of bridge, it's also confirmed in Extinction that just after MC destroyed Omnicron's soul, Venefelis was unleashed with the single goal to kill Hilda; unintentionally serving as the bridge for the Nexomon War and the future to come in Nexomon: Extinction. ...Also the MC (The Ghost of Nexomon Past) gets Metta's jacket and was buried in it pre-Extinction, so I'm betting the madlad did the blanket dog trick and it somehow worked against the MC and Nara. I mean, Metta's about the size of a bowling ball (five-pin/duckpin maybe?) so he might've had a chance to pull it off when MC was distracted by Omnicron and he just assumed the guy was gone for good.

Anywho, that's all I have for now, hope you enjoyed!
