Directions: Post 6 sentences of an unfinished work and tag 6 people.

Sharing part of the Fibonacci WIP in the hopes that it’ll get me to actually finish it….

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?

Oh gosh...that was like...20 years ago now. (I FEEL SO OLD 😭)

I really can't remember super well. But 2005-ish was right in the middle of the HP movies and...I was somewhere in the midst of the YGO fandom lol. I think I was watching the anime at the time?

I can't for the life of me figure out HOW I discovered FF.net because I was not on any sort of social media back in 2005 so it was probably through someone in high school. I know I read a lot of YGO/HP crossover fic before getting the idea that 'hey I could definitely do this too' and wrote the absolute worst hot potato crossover cringe fic on the planet.

(That hot potato cringe is still somehow earning FF.net follows despite A- being finished, and B- having it's far-superior glow up right alongside it. Go figure.)

🤭Do you have a favorite tag to use when posting your works?

Not really. Law? Trafalgar D. Water Law? Haha. I do tag chromafic, chromafics, chromalami on tumblr, just in case anyone is searching, or they want to filter out. 'Angst & Humour," "Attempt at Humour," "Hurt & Comfort," and it's poor cousin, "Hurt no comfort." "Mind the tags." etc. "Dead dove do not eat," as in, could traumatise for sure, on some of the dark stuff.

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

That's a good question. I think I can let anxiety rest when I get at least one comment. But having started with long fics, I know there is often chapter after chapter after chapter with no comments, so for self-care, a wider form of gauging success is needed. Like, folks often say a ratio of 10% kudos to hits is good, but if you look at most fanfic, the range is about 3-5%, and on multi-chapters, the kudos ratio rate will generally be lower, even if it looks higher. You have to be aware of what you're writing too (rare pair, gen, smut, no smut, etc.)

So, once I've fought past my self-destructive urge to slash and burn, hits, for one, can gauge success (I know not everyone counts them, but you can have a dark fic with a ton of hits, and not many kudos or comments in proportion, but you know folks are reading due to the private bookmarks and hits), public bookmarks (private ones count too, but you can't really know why someone bookmarked. You can't with public either, unless the book-marker leaves some notes, but you know it means something to someone).

At the same time, I've had fics with 70 hits or so, and 1 or 2 kudos, if that, and I've taken them down, cos they're obviously not vibing with readers. Ultimately, I guess, if I still like it when I come back to read it. And if it meant something to someone it's successful. I have some fics up that I might've pulled down by now because they could do with an overhaul, or maybe they are far too indulgent, but comments, bookmarks, etc. let me know they do mean something to some, so they remain up.

Extrinsic validation can be a successful public reception, but the way I feel about the fic is probably more important in the long run. (Convoluted answer, sorry!)

((Gotta say my favorite food changes often. Seasonal, sweet or salty, etc. I think for the sweet version, I simply love plum dumplings.. my mother used to make them with sugar and just a bit of butter and I would be very satisfied with my life, I still am today.

On the savory side, I really enjoy mild Japanese Curry, just some small potatoes, carrots, nice jasmin rice or a rice mixture and i will be beyond blissed out~))

I like ending on big moments, either moments of relief or moments of shock and horror. It just comes down to what feels right for it to end on.

Why don’t you ship it? There are a couple things here for me. Number one Bakura is too pissed off at the world to even consider a romantic relationship. He's too focused. He is working towards everything he has ever wanted and he's not going to let ANYTHING fuck that up. The second thing is like...does Bakura know Kisara? If he does does he trust her? Does he trust anyone at this point? Probably not.

What would have made you like it? I don't think in canon there is much that would work. Maybe post canon they could work with some string pulling.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? Several people I love and adore have done this ship and it's not been bad. If anyone can do it, I feel like it would be them, but it's just hard for me to see. PS: Atem doesn't like it because he's a jealous bitch and he's like...Okay you can take Seto from me, but you cannot take Bakura as well. So yeah...Idiot.

Hello! I hope you're having a good holiday season.

😪 a piece that was meant to be short but took on a life of its own.

Hmm, I wonder if I have any of these. Maybe the opposite: Was longer but shrunk significantly after editing! Maybe just the fact that I re-uploaded a third chapter (out of a completed four chapter work) to the Law fanfic, Taxi? That started out as a one-shot way back when.

Some pieces done on anon, maybe. I really didn't write much this year (although a lot of stuff in the works for next year, kinda. zine stuff).
