he didn't sign up for this. he didn't ask for this. but even forced sheriffs needed a drink from time to time. the saloon was hot, not much more hot than outside in the sun. the song on the piano was the same one that played yesterday. not too many individuals inside though, which was a good thing. the sheriff hid a smile;; maybe he wouldn’t have to talk to someone. that would be nice. ryan could use the break. he took one of the stools at the end of the bar and sat. “ whiskey. ” was the order. the lukewarm alcohol placed in front of him not too long after. he didn't pay too much attention to his surroundings, getting inside his head and thankful for the cowboy hat brim hiding some of his face. he noticed the figure a few seats away looking over at him, but if they really wanted to speak, they could come this way.
