AAAH HC THAT RAINWINGS GAIN THEIR BASE/DEFAULT COLOURS BY THEIR EARLY EMOTIONS
like if one had a really neglected and lonely childhood they would turn out kinda blue and grey as their default colours. And if a rainwing had a pretty happy childhood they would generally be very yellow and pink.
I feel like after glory took over as queen, she would have inforced some rules, and one of them would be rainwing eggs have to be kept by parents, clear families began emerging, and colours became different.

Okay wait hear me out WoF community
I have this entire this where sky wings have Gaelic armor [stuff like chainmail, traditional, often formed by welding]
SeaWings have the strawish armor of Pacific Islanders with the occasional embroidery on it for style [due to inability to weld]
mud wings with northern Native American stuff [bones and furs often used as a sense of pride and strength] {{another random hyper fixation that is somewhat related is mud wings love using heron and quail feathers as earrings, along with crocodile skin}}
night wings use more Norse/viking-like armor [with the welded metal plates but furs underneath with the occasional leather.]
rain wings never wore armor because it would heavily give away their camouflage
sand wings used A LOT of chainmail like they did in the Middle East and Egypt to handle with the intense heat [ with the occasional cot or fabric on it]
IceWings were smart probs and got welded materials from the sky wings, decorating them once they arrived [ most pieces of armor were very big and decorative, think of like the armor in Southeast Asia with often had gold patterns and symbols on it with robes.]

Sandwing headcannons!
• Sandwing accent is really similar to an Australian accent. I guarantee most non-Australians will get the accent wrong.
•They wear little garments on their tails during busy social gatherings and get them for dragonets that haven’t been tail trained yet. They call them tail chains.
• A common way to symbolise sandwings is a little emblem with a raised tail between two outstretched wings.
• After the War of SandWing Succession, they hold a yearly festival at Jade Mountain Academy, since it’s the only place that no tribe owns. They call it a few different names, e.g. The Comet Festival, The Dragonbite Festival, but most of them like to call it the Sunny festival, since she finished the war.
• Little capsule necklaces of sand and water, symbolising an oasis, are worn as good luck charms.
• They LOVE to make jewellery, especially for festivals. Around the time of the Dragonbite Festival, they make little bracelets, earrings, necklaces and tail chains, with little comets on them, some have a Dragonbite viper interacting with the comet in some way, and some just have the Dragonbite Viper coiled up.
•Stonemover always chills with timid dragons who are avoiding crowds, and Sunny added cushions for them all to vibe with him and encourage them to chat with him

The scene that made me laugh is when Tsunami learns how to speak Aquatic and the very first thing she learns how to do is basically swear. Headcannon that squidface is the SeaWing swear that functionally means dickhead. Which I think fits Whirlpool well. I tried to make him as oily as possible. His ears normally droop under the weight of all the hoops. But he's so surprised that they're sticking up quite a bit. He also has some big ears for a SeaWing. All the better to put more hoops in. I may do a bit of a redesign at some point and give him gages because that would be sweet.
Love Tsunami. Next up is a scene that made me cry.

I’m doing a series of wof headcannons! In no specific order,
SEAWINGS!
1. Newly hatched seawings have very dim bioluminescence, as not to attract predators looking for an easy snack
However, more recently as dragons start living and hatching young in colonies, a rare condition can be found where a hatchling cannot control their lights, and it’s brighter than it should be, it seems to fade/come into control within a few weeks! Sadly they wouldn’t call it “Rudolph Syndrome”
2. Seawings are the largest tribe, however they start out VERY small, hatchlings weigh only about 1 or 2 pounds, however an adult can reach a couple tons at time of death. Also hatchlings are often nicknamed “Fry”
3. Seawings are known to have tendrils used in sensing vibrations in the water, males have 2 on each side of their forehead, these are rudimentary antenna! Early Seawings are actually an ancestor of the beetlewing!
4. Seawings and Icewings have a high hybrid rate, due to the fact that Whalers often bump into each other, and until recently, the tension has been low between tribes. The hybrids are well adapted to the icy waters, and welcomed into both the kingdoms as valuable, specialized dragons.
5. SOME MISC ORCA HC’S! since I rlly like her :)
5b. Orca is trans! mtf to be specific, a very few old timers in the kingdom disagreed with letting her challenge for the throne because of this, but for the most part everyone was chill
5c. Orca was a profound artist, and after it was found out that she was was an animus aswell some speculated that she enchanted her work to be more appealing to people, however this is unlikely, as she was very strategic with her casting. She was just really good at art :)
5d. Orca wore an earring with the pearls of different sizes, feeling the need to connect with her daughter after death, Coral began wearing it aswell, it may or may not be enchanted to give the wearer confidence and ambition.
5e. Auklet is the reincarnation of Orca! Though they do look a bit different part of it is because Auklet is still just lil baby and doesn’t have her adult scales yet :)

heres the first of my idiot magic dragon group (once I make the guy that brought them all together ill explain how events that should be very rare have dragons all the same age)
First up is PrintSeer, a female nightwing with a spotted tear scale. She can see ghost like figures of where dragons in the past have been.
Then we have BurningWords born under a SuperBluemoon as a Night/sky hybrid and the only hybrid of this group. I still dont know what I want his power to be.

Clay
He likes woodcarving and decorates his place with his carvings despite his girlfriend being perpetually on fire
He and Peril collectively have three braincells, each having one with the extra bouncing between them like a game of ping pong
He sometimes breathes a little bit of fire on himself to make sure he's still fireproof before he hugs Peril
Peril
She inexplicably hates jenga for literally no reason
She's bi (just got that vibe, yn?)
She likes drawing in burnable objects with her flamescails
Is absolutely terrified that she will accidentally burn a carving that Clay made
Tsunami
She is incredibly muscular but is also the shortest in the group other than Sunny
She likes bridal carrying Riptide and calling him babygirl
She is a master of martial arts and hosts classes for it at Jade Mountain Academy
She has an absolutely terrifying reputation outside her school but actually spoils l her students rotten
Glory
She constantly makes fun of Tsunami for being short
She also makes fun of Deathbringer for being short
She is a total weeb but is terrified that Deathbringer will find out and make fun of her (he already knows)
She REALLY likes food but tries to keep a regal image when her subjects are around
She is the most well liked queen in all of Pyriah
She is impossible to fluster
She's a top
She secretly likes meat
Deathbringer
He always exaggerates his age to try and seem cooler but is actually quite a few months younger than Glory
He is secretly in a d&d group with Kinkajou, Winter, and Qibli but is desperately trying to keep it a secret from Glory (Kinkajou told her all about it)
He loves dishing out flirty comments to Glory but is INSTANTLY flustered as soon as he gets one back
He's secretly a vegetarian
He tries to act like a flirtatious top but is very much the opposite
He is amazing at keeping secrets from literally everyone except Glory
Starflight
He is a romantic ace
He makes a podcast with Fatespeaker
He loves dancing
Despite being blind he has a wonderful memory and is able to memorize a new environment in only a few hours
He has a fear of fire for several obvious reasons and keeps his library OBSCENELY cold
Sunny
She is a lesbian
Clay is her wingman
She is terrified that she will have to inherent the throne and is begging her mother for a sibling
She has severe anxiety
She desperately wants to be a leader but is too scared that no one will listen to her
Thorn
What could I headcannon, she's perfect
Also she and Smolder are totally fucking
She also makes sure Onyx knows just to get on her nerves even more
She's also planning on adopting Qibli

Nightwings are the scholars and mystics of Phyrria. They have expansive libraries and museums in their kingdom, as well as the most intricate schools and universities. The current Queen, Battlewinner is an ailing but stubborn queen. She has only one heir, princess Greatness, as well as one son (Battlecry, an oc). Greatness is trying everything to avoid becoming the next Queen, but she’s running out of time and options as her mother’s health worsens.
They have perfect night vision, as they are a nocturnal species, they see better at night then day. Their eyes and ears tend to be bigger when compared to other tribes. Most common eye colors are shades of green, purple, or amber. Blue is a very rare eye color among Nightwings. All Nightwings can breath fire.
Scales are most commonly black, dark grey, or darker and less saturated shades of purple, red/brown, green, or blue. Horns and claws come in grey/silver or black and a about roughly 40% of the Nightwing population hatch with a second but smaller set of horns that curve more downward then the first pair. The underside of their wing membranes resemble the night sky, with no nightwing hatching with the exact same pattern of star like scales.
Nightwings who hatch under one full moon, will either receive mind reading or seer abilities. A silver tear drop under each eye indicates mind reading, and silver tear drop scales along the sides of the neck and tail indicate seer abilities. Nightwings who hatch under two full moons get both abilities and those who hatch under no moons, get no powers and no extra silver scales. The very few who hatch under three full moons (the brightness night), will have a more powerful version of the first two abilities. There is a line of nightwings who may sometime hatch as animus, though this is rare. This line can be traced back to Darkstalker and his family. Animus magic, though not as intensely regulated as it is in the Ice Kingdom, is regulated to a degree. With most Nightwing animus end up working for the royal family in some way.
Basically in my au, Nightwings never left the original Night Kingdom and never lost their powers. Darkstalker’s story ended much differently to, I’ll explain that au eventually.
Below is an example of what an average Nightwing would look like (one set of horns and no moon powers).
